I use home workout dvds in the winter because I love running outside in the summer and I hate gyms and treadmills, so with dvds I can get more variety and don't even have to leave the house!

Ditto on the snow shoveling. I took care of our driveway early this a.m.

I don't mind it on a mild winter like this. I think it is only the 2nd or 3rd time so far.

Today you can actually shovel snow (we got about 3 inches last night) and a great workout.

Luckily in lower MI, we have yet to have more than 1" of snow, so I walk along the river most days if it is 40 degrees or more. Even if it does snow, they clear the bike trails by the next day, so I have 10 miles of trail, and walking in the cold burns more calories to keep me warm.

Ice skating can be done outside (I'm always nervous about skating on ponds) or inside. If there's a lot of snow a really good vigorous snow ball fight can be fun.

Sledding (if there's snow!) is a great activity. Having to walk back up the hill with the sleds can be a lot of work, especially if there is a lot of snow or it is a steep hill!

Hey everyone, In the summer generally I enjoy biking or walking outside. In the winter I tend to walk more in stores and purposely go out of my way to get more steps. I have a treadmill in my basement, although I rarely use it due to not being as enjoyable of an experience as actually walking around and seeing things. :)

Does anyone else have some good ideas for winter activity?
