I had an opportunity to have lapband and charge $10,000. with no interest for a year. The facility was nearby. That was 1 year ago. I have lost 80 lbs so far. I chose lapband instead of gastric bypass. I know of several gastric bypass people who gain their weight back. Lapband patients lose a little slower than Gastric one. Good luck to you on your choice. Whatever it may be. We are all here for you.
I will have to say before you make a decision is to do your research. I also gave it about a year's consideration before I made the decision. It is a tool but not a cure all. You have to be willing to do your part and follow the rules. I also talked to about a dozen people that I knew who had the band. I found out what works for them. What they were not doing and so on. Then also I was lucky that my insurance covered me having the lapband. I had a bunch of hoops to jump through because of the insurance, but I am glad because I feel that I am better prepared to use the lapband as it is meant to be. I will gladly answer any other questions that you might have. Good Luck, Beth
Hi everyone! I'm new to this team. I'm trying to decide if I should get Lap-Band surgery. I have some support in my life for it and some not to. How have other people made the decision? What helped you decide? Thanks
I'm just starting my journey. I have my first appointment with the surgeon in March. I wasn't sure which WLS I was going to choose. But all the wonderful information supplied here by all the Sparkers has helped. I'll be checking on you and how you are doing...Yeah! for your surgery date. Wish it was mine!

Boy do I know about that waiting game, it took me 9 months before getting approval and jumping through hoops. But it was SO worth it. I am down 93lbs and 12lbs from goal. My life is so different and so much BETTER. Where do you live? I am in a small town in TX.

Here is a post just for LapBanders. I know that most people that have WLS do not have the LapBand and have different struggles. So here is a post for those of you that have it and are looking for some others here to talk to and share your journey to a healthier, slimmer life.
