Ah Bambi I missed this! I would love to hear how you spend your time there. What sorts of foods are you eating and how do you get your exercise?

I live/work in Saudi Arabia, so we don't get days off for Easter/Christmas, it's been work as per usual. Our weekend days off are Thursday and Friday. To be honest, although I miss the family and home, it makes it a lot easier to remain eating healthy, when there are no Easter or Christmas temptations.

Hope you all had a safe and happy time, whatever you did.

strength training is great exercise.
I had my one choccy yesterday and today is back to normal for me.
need to find something to do with the kids for the school holidays as they will soon get bored not having a "routine"

Yes I have including an hour of strength training last night. I did a big number on chocolate yesterday and felt better for it. Everything seemed easier to do and this morning I have woken revitalised instead of weary which has been my common state of late. I think I'm not eating enough for what I'm trying to do.

After today I definitely need to get totally back on track. I love smoothies but haven't done them for a little while now. I forget about the simple things sometimes.

I splurged today because it was my birthday. We went out to lunch and I had a schnitzel with salad but then had bought my favourite cheesecake for our dessert. Now I will have to work hard to work that off.

instead of icecream I make a smoothie with frozen yogurt ( I freeze in ice cubes to use in smoothies) and frozen berries or banana, mine turn out really thick and I eat it with a spoon. yum

I agree Jennylee the tracker is key.

I have always been a fruit and veg girl so that is not an issue for me. What has been is all the other stuff I have consumed! Too much meat, too much bread - too much butter - oh my!! I could put away a half a loaf loaded with peanut butter and the like and hardly know I'd done it! And chocolate - don't get me started! What I am striving for since joining SP is balance. I don't want to ever be afraid of a piece of chocolate - just don't want to consume a whole block in a frenzy ever again. So it's portion control and taking some foods like icecream, off of the staples list. It's also about eating consciously for me and not as a way to zone out on life.

Great idea. I did well in 2009 as I wanted to lose weight for my daughters wedding, and I did. Somehow it managed to go by the wayside last year and I gained some of the weight back. Now I am weighing and tracking my food again and hopefully will start to lose weight yet again.

What a great idea to revisit the things we learnt and may have let slip over time.
I have found that by not logging my food daily I tend to slip a little. So starting this week I will be logging everything I put in my mouth. (I also need to stop myself from slipping back into my diet coke habit)

Yes, it is easy to stray off track when you guesstimate. I have a cup measure in my cereal container so that I know that I can just scoop it out and not pour too much in a bowl. ( I weighed it first to see if it was the right size).

I thought I might encourage those of us who have been here a while to re visit some of the basic habits that we follow really well for a while then let slip.

This is from the spark diet stage 2 healthy diet habits.

1. Control portions.
It is way too easy to pour out too much cereal, slop on extra milk or munch away mindlessly.
