Jillars- My old scale was like that. I think the floors were uneven in certain parts of the house and gave an inaccurate reading. Good job on your loss though! I've never been to a spin class but regular bike seats do that to me at the start of each summer. I guess it's something that will have to get toughened up. Toughen those cheeks girl lol!

Joanie- I know you have a lot on your mind but don't worry. Even if you feel like it you're NOT coming across negative. You know we're all here for each other and sometimes you're going to be on the encouraging side and sometimes the needs encouragement side. We'll always love you! To prove it I won't send you a text at 4am lol! I will update you all on how it goes later on though. I hope you get a good price for your car, maybe you can fly first class.

I just finished making the most rediculous dessert for tomorrow. It's a pumpkin cheesecake with chocolate swirls and a chocolate wafer crust. It has 450 cals/slice. Yikes! I'm not doing the "if you halve it, you can have it" thing. more like if you QUARTER it. I'm also taking a veggie side dish so that evens out, right? ;)

Tomorrow I'll be up early for the 5k, then off to the hospital to see my best friend and we head to my Dad's at 4pm.

Joanie- Mine is 1.5 hours away too. We usually just switch off the holidays. He gets 1st dibs on T-day and Mom gets 1st dibs on Christmas and next year they switch. They can get along if they have to but would rather not. Oh well. Just more incentive to work through all the problems Rob and I come across asap. I don't want that for our kids.

Have a good Thanksgiving gals!!!

Joanie, they live in Wasilla. Thats cool you live up there too, its not very often you run into other Alaskans, lol.

JILLARS, i have the same problem with my scale, so i try to keep mine in the kitchen where the floor is firm and level, and i always weigh twice just to make sure.

I'm thankful for alot this year even though i want things to be different in my life. I'm thankful for the few friends and family i have supporting me, i am thankful for having a roof that doesn't leak anymore, and a bed thats comfy most of the time, i am thankful for my job even though i hate it most of the time i am lucky to have it when so many people dont right now...
I am also very thankful for you ladies supporting my weight loss goals and being my sounding board when i need advice. Thank you!
Happy thanksgiving! Don't eat too much! lol emoticon

Hi All,

I just realized that depending on where my scale is in the house - my weight changes by a few pounds! According to my scale, I'm somewhere between 168 - 171. I think I'm at about 171, since I don't think I lost that much this week. I will check at the gym tomorrow and then find the right place to keep my scale in the house.
It was hard to get motivated to go to the gym this week, and when I did go, I did more strength training and low intensity workouts than intense cardio. I finally got motivated and did my first spinning class today, and boy is that a great workout! I'd like to do it again, but I am SOOO sore from the seat on the bike. Has anyone had this hapen? It hurts to sit because of that bike seat.
Happy thanksgiving to everyone!

J

Hey Ladies,

No change on the scale for me, but I've been pretty undiciplined the last few weeks. I have finally started tracking food and running again, so I expect good numbers next week.

Ayla - Where in Alaska is your family??? I live in Alaska. It'd be crazy if I knew them!! It's a small enough place (population-wise) so it's a possibility!!

Lisa - I ran a 5k last night, but I'll try to do another on Thanksgiving morning. You should text me when you start. Wait...you're 4 hours ahead, maybe not!! As for the move...I think I've decided not to drive. I've heard horror stories about people's engines just ceasing up from the cold. I've made that drive before, but in the summer, and there are some desolate areas that would be extremely dangerous if I broke down. So...I've decided that selling my car and flying is the easiest/safest option.

Val - Damn those oreos!! I find that if I buy that stuff, I tend to eat it all too, except my weakness is the salty stuff. If its in the house, I'm after it! But don't let it set you back, just make healthy choices from here on out. Like Lisa said, we all have our moments!

Kelbo - Reindeer run sounds so fun! My turkey trot will be on the treadmill...boring!! ;) I'm sorry that you're feeling frustrated with the scale. Sounds like keeping off of it will do you some good, since all it does is make you feel bad. Everyone is different so do what's right for YOU!!

I'm going to my sisters for Thanksgiving tomorrow, and the whole family will be there, except my dad. =( He refuses to go because my mom and her husband will be there. I hate that my family is divided, and holiday's suck because we have to choose: Mom or Dad. Bahumbag! It will be fun, but I know in the back of my mind I'll be thinking about my dad being alone on Thanksgiving. He lives 1.5 hrs away so it's not like I can just pop over and say hi. Maybe I'll go see him on Friday.

Ladies, I know I've been negative lately, and I apologize. There's been a lot going on here that has got me down. I know I need to not let it affect me, but it does!! *Sigh* I'll try to be better, and I'm so thankful for each and every one of you that encourages me and makes me smile. I love our team!! Happy Thanksgiving!

This week i am at 176.8 which is +0.6 from last week, but thats ok. Some of it might be muscle but all it tells me is i need more cardio in my lifestyle!

Turns out we are going over to my man's cousins house for a small get together tomorrow and then MAYBE if we are lucky we can take a 4 hour drive on Saturday to see his mom and some of our friends in VA.

I am missing my family too, most of them are in TX, but my mom and dad and brothers are all in Alaska far far away :( I wish we could go see them, but then again i would probably never leave, LOL

Morning ladies!

Kel- No worries about the weigh in. It happens. If it's not motivating you, then find something else you can measure. Maybe track what you eat so you can look back and see progress or track the bad things and see that list shrink. Anything that motivates. The last thing anyone wants is to have you stick to a condition in this challenge that makes you feel worse. Let me know how the run goes!!

Ayla- Have fun with your time off of work! DO you have anyone you can celebrate with? I hope so, if not, enjoy the down time :)

Val- We all have our moments don't we! I admit I've eaten more of the caramel corn in our work kitchen than I should. Have you ever made a list of prizes or rewards for making your weight loss goals or a list of "splurge" things you can cash in on when you feel out of sorts? It's good to have a list that doesn't use food as a reward or treat. I like it because if I'm having a bad day and feel like I'm going to crash I can tell my husband I'm cashing in a splurge and that means he needs to let me have about a half hour of quiet time for a bubble bath. The idea is to find something you wouldn't normally do or have time for so it feels special. Good luck!

I weighed in at 142.6 so that's the right direction. I'll really need to tighten the reins on my eating when this half training is over. At least it get's me through Thanksgiving ;)

I hope you all are having a good hump day =D

ha. This sounds awful, but hearing that I'm not the only one struggling with staying on track is kind of motivating. I weighed in at 304.8 today, but I'm pretty sure that I weigh more than that. I was doing really well for like, three days, and then... I bought a box of Oreos. That was the first mistake. The second mistake was probably eating the whole thing in a span of four days.

Anyways, sorry I haven't checked in for a while. I hope everyone does well over Thanksgiving-- the article that SP has up about Holiday Eating is pretty good.

Nobody can go back and make a new beginning, but anybody can start today and make a new ending. ~Maria Robinson

Hi ladies,

I weighed myself this morning and I am up 3 pounds from when I posted on the boards 2 weeks ago. I was 178.6 and this morning I am 181.6. Bummer. However, it is my TOM, so not really a good time to weigh myself at all. I have also been told not to weigh myself a week before or after my TOM by a female trainer before, so that doesn't leave many options! I think I may move to weighing in once a month becasue all it does is de-motivate me.

Anywho! Joanie and Lisa have fun doing the Turkey Day run! I am looking forward to my Reindeer Run. We are running through Woburn Reindeer Park and will hopefully see some deer. Here is a link to the site: www.woburn.co.uk/events/article/rnli-reind
eer-run/

Aylah - That is so nice you got work off! I am missing home and wish I could be with my family for Thanksgiving. Not really doing anything special here as I will be at work.

I hope everyone's weigh in goes well! Happyt Thanksgiving everyone!!! emoticonemoticonemoticon

Love,
Kelbo

Hi ladies!

Kel- It's awesome that your husband runs these races with you but I have NO idea how he did a half and then another relay the next day. I would have died lol! Sounds like you're super busy but I'm glad you found time to check in. Let us know how the run goes and how the play does.

Jillars- Good luck in the job search. I'm amazed at how all you girls keep everything together so far from home. I really put down roots so living and working abroad would mess me up!

Joanie- Good luck on your job search too. It's good to see you're getting back to running. I'm doing a 5k Thanksgiving morning if you want me to keep you accountable too ;) This weather has been strange to say the least, warmer than usual for us but the darkness gets to me as well. Have you decided if you're going to drive when you move? I saw the post you put on FB and looked up the Alcan. Sounds like an adventure!

Well, today I was out of the office most of the day which is great. It goes by so much faster. Did okay with food although I thought I'd be back for lunch and ended up going through Wendy's for a burger. Not great. Breakfast was good and no dinner yet because every time I go in the kitchen I grab something bad and then put it back. No damage yet but I'm hungry! Maybe I'll get some carrot sticks out. I did 35 minutes of CT but it was forced. Ugh.

I talked to my friend today and she had some bleeding but the doctor said he wasn't too worried as it wasn't real dark or heavy. I'm so worried. Since my 5k Thursday is about halfway to the hospital, I told her I'd stop out after but warned her it might be a stinky visit! Friday I'm cooking and Saturday we have a memorial service for a friends dad and we're ringing the bell for the Salvation Army for a couple hours with some of Rob's coworkers after. What are everyone's holiday plans?

That's about all I got. Good luck at weigh-in everyone!

Hey Ladies,
It's quiet in here!

Jillars - Wow, I hope you and your hubby are reunited soon! Good for you for staying strong!! And good luck with the job interviews, that must be stressful. I will be in the job market soon too, in a place where unemployment is at 12%! YIKES! I hope I can quickly find a job in Vancouver...that would relieve a tremendous amount of stress.

Kelbo - Hey busy lady! Awesome that your hubs is a runner, I didn't know that!! How's the acting going? Miss you! Have a great day!

Well, the last couple weeks I have not been logging my food and, OH MY, it shows! I find that it's nearly impossible for me to maintain if I don't write it down. Sheesh. I guess I'll be calorie counting for the rest of my life! Last night I was too exhausted to run, so I was a lazy bum all evening instead. Tonight I'd like to run my Turkey Trot 5K, so I'm trying to pump myself up for that.

Eren - I know you've done a million 5K's this month, but are you going to do another one for the Turkey Trot? Let me know, I need some accountability.

Why am I so unmotivated?? I blame it on the weather and darkness. This winter I've REALLY been sensitive to the season change.

Have a great day ladies!!! Happy Tiny Tuesday!

Hi ladies,

I am sorry I totally failed to check in last week. I have to travel a lot on the train for work all over England and I had several very early starts, which were hard to recover from until the weekend. I was soooooo tired. However, I felt much better after the weekend. I managed to rest but was also very productive with house stuff, i.e. cleaning, finally getting some curtains up in our living room and a new bed spread! My husband was super productive as he completed his first half marathon on Saturday and then on Sunday ran 8.9 miles in a relay marathon. When he agreed to the latter he hadn't realized it was the after his half. Needless to say he was tired! But I am very proud of him. This weekend we are doing a fun run called the Woburn Reindeer Run. He is doing 10k and I am doing 5k. Wish me luck!

I am keeping busy with all of my rehearsals and managing a run here and there at lunch when I am not too tired and organized enough to remember my running gear!

I have read a lot of the posts, but can't respond to each individually. Sounds like everyone is full throttle these days, though! Oh and Lisa - prayers are on their way for your friend. I hope all goes okay for her. Good work to everyone and good luck with those trying to heal injuries. I hope to pop in tomorrow for weigh, but I have to admit I am not looking forward to it. I hate weighing in weekly (or any time really)...

Have a great day!
Kelbo

Lisa- congrats on the 12 mile run. That is great! Glad to hear your mom is ok. It's so scary when they are in the hospital. Sorry also to hear about your friend. It sounds like she has great medical care, and i'm sure she will be in our thoughts.
Anabanana - sorry about the weight loss frustration! In addition to bloating, is it possible that you are gaining muscle mass? Sounds like you have a pretty intense workout regime, and your picture looks great! I'm no expert, but maybe you could check with a trainer at your gym about other ways to measure your success? Good luck with the move and house furnishing!
Joanie - I'm in the UK right now wrapping up an MA course and the hubby is in Uganda. I should be heading back there before Christmas if all goes according to plan. Yoga was actually great. I was really sore the next day, but sore in a good way. I think I hadn't used a lot of those muscles, and really good stretching. I'll be going back for sure. Wow, you are moving too. Moving is just about my least favorite activity, but hopefully the move is for good reason and you have something to look forward to.
I think I'll head to the gym this morning instead of waiting for the afternoon today. Job interview #3 today. I'm really hoping that one of the three makes me an offer sometime this week! It's so stressful & time consuming to be on the job market. Sending positive vibes in preparation for tomorrow's weigh-in! I'm feeling skinnier even if the scale doesn't match up. ;)

A couple of you asked about the movie. It was pretty good. Corny, as to be expected, but I like that this part of the story has more "human" issues in it, like marriage and pregnancy. Makes it more relatable. As for the series itself...yeah, they're pretty good for a laugh. I can honestly say that Kristen Stewart did a MUCH better job on this one than all the others, but I wouldn't have bothered to go if my niece hadn't insisted.

Denise - You're always such a busy girl, I don't know how you do it! Have a great week!

Lori - How's the painting coming along? And how's the puppy training going?

Ana - I'm moving after Dec 27. As to an exact date, I'm not sure but it'll probably be in January, depending on how I decide to get there, ie, drive, Ferry, fly. As for your weight, girl, you are building muscle! Take your measurments instead.

Jillars - where are you, and where is your hubby? How long have you lived apart? I love that you glam yourself up for your man, that's cute. =) How was yoga?

Lisa - date night was good, thanks for asking! We had a bit of a freak out sesh though...I was 2 weeks late and since he was here over Halloween it was a definite possibility. But...PHEW...I started on Saturday. Having a baby would be fun, but talk about terrible timing!!! So anyway, our date night consisted of us freaking out. At least we did it together. =) By the way, AWESOME job on your long runs!!! Is your mom still doing okay? And keep us posted on your friend, that is super scary. I will keep her and baby in my prayers. Tell her we're all praying & sending positive thoughts!

Ayla - Promote, promote, promote!! =) How was your anniversary? Did you do something special?

I had an eventful weekend. Had 2 nephews, 1 niece over on Saturday night for a sleepover. Had a puking 7 year old girl wake me up at 3am. Lovely! It was quite eventful! Sunday was nice and quiet and now the week begins again. I'm trying to figure out the best way to move. It's a lot of work!
I've been running, but starting out small. Last night I did 2 miles. I'm hoping to run 3 tonight. Right now, all I want to do is sleep though! We have about 7 hours of light now and it really takes a toll on my energy level. Plus work is slow, so sitting around all day takes it out of me. Ha! Anyway, I better get going so I can finish up and get outta here. I've been watching the clock all day!
Love you girls. Happy meatless Monday! I'm having taco salad with beans tonight. Yum!!

Thanks Ana! I laughed at a few things in those movies too. Like when she was "dying" at her old ballet studio and her eyes were crossing. Too funny! I think at one point he called her a spidermonkey. It has to be on purpose.

I wouldn't worry about the scale because that new pic is FABULOUS! You look great :) It has to be bloat. Do you use any type of sauce on your stir fry? Those have a surprising amount of sodium and will hit ya quick. Plus, you're building muscle. You can tell in your pics. Take your measurements. I'm sure you'll see the loss there!

This weekend has been crazy. Yesterday was good and I got the yard raked this morning. Went for my 30 min easy run that was anything but. Worst run in forever. I was too hot, then too cold. Then my jacket somehow kept yanking out my earbuds and I had cramps that would not die. Finally turned around and went home ;p

Lastly, and most importantly, I need prayers for my best friend. She is about 9 weeks out from full term with her second child and started leaking amino fluid. She's in the hospital for 5 weeks. They want her to get to 34 but not over so she will end up 4 weeks premature no matter what. The baby is already 3 pounds, so that's good but if there was anyone that shouldn't have to go through this, it's her. She is wonderful in every way and I wish I could take all her worries away.

SO. Crazy weekend. I'll check back in with you all tomorrow. I hope everyone's weekend went well.

Sooooo I'm getting super frustrated again. I stepped on the scale to check in, even though it wasn't an "official weigh-in". And it's gone right back up to 147, where I started this challenge. I was down to 144-145 last weekend before Mother Nature so graciously decided to pay me a visit, and I haven't let up in exercising, I've gone to the gym 6 times this week. I've been running, kickboxing, circuit training, lifting weights, doing Zumba... really keeping things mixed up. My food has been REALLY GOOD! I've been cooking at home practically every meal, having oatmeal for breakfast, salads for lunch and veggie-protein stir-fries for dinner usually. TOM is basically over and I'm so frustrated... hopefully it's harmless bloat but it's making me totally insane! =[

*Sigh.*

But enough about me! Hope everyone else is doing well. =)

Jillars... hope the soreness is better since you tried that mid-foot-strike running! Sounded pretty awful.

Amber, where are you working now that you're back in school? Busy girl!

Lisa, emoticon on your great big fat 12-miler!! SO IMPRESSED with you right now!! My hero. =) Your Twilight conversion had me laughing. James & I stumbled in to the first one back when it came out, neither of us even knew in the SLIGHTEST what it was about, but though "Twilight" sounded like maybe a good movie. I distinctly remember laughing out load when he started sparkling in the sunlight. Or moonlight. I was definitely the only one! lol.

Ayla, that's awesome for you getting up your Etsy store!! Congrats. Also hope you had a great anniversary with your man.

Not much news to report from here lately... I'm moving tomorrow though! Yay! =) I'll be rooming with some good friends on base (a married couple and another girl who is staying there for a couple months) and then James is moving into his new apartment hopefully around Thanksgiving if it's ready. Once he's in we get to start looking for furniture so that's exciting. AND tomorrow is his first day off in weeks (and we get to spend it moving, fun, hah) so it'll be nice once we're done to just chill with him.

I'm feeling so discouraged after fighting tooth and nail to finally chip away a couple pounds and seeing them back. Sometimes I wish I could go drown my sorrows in a big vat of everything-fatty-and-delicious. But if I would that would be about 10 instant pounds. Cursed turtle metabolism. ;) Well I'm just going to suck it up and get ready to take on a new week. Maybe if I drown my sorrows in gallons of water instead....

Nice Ayla! That's good news all around :)

I did my 12 mile run yesterday and it was pretty good. Took longer than I wanted but I ran just about the whole thing without stopping. I stopped 4 times for a total of, maybe, 3 minutes. Two of which I couldn't help, traffic. It was strong though. The first 6 miles were at a continuous incline (not huge) and into a pretty strong wind so coming back was a relief. I'm mega sore today though.

Besides that, food was good and I got in my fruit to make up for Friday. We went to the tree lighting and didn't know about the fireworks that they shoot off after. Right over our heads. It was really cool! Plus we got to see some friends that we haven't gotten together with in a while :)

My mom spent the night in the ER Friday. She had a doctors appointment and they found her blood pressure was too high. It was 200/98 which I guess is near stroke level. She is already on medication and she felt fine but they monitored her all night, switched her meds and she's back to normal and feeling great. Threw me for a loop though because she takes such good care of herself. Some things exercise doesn't help.

Well, that's it for me. Trying to keep Wyatt in bed for a little while longer. Bad enough that I'm up at 6:30am on Sunday, he needs to learn to sleep in ;)

Have a good Sunday ladies!

Good evening all!
Feeling pretty good today, i guess i am finally able to let go some of the stress thats been weighing me down lately.

I also listed some new creations on my etsy shop and am gonna be doing a black friday special for fans of my FB. (For anyone who's interested visit my FB at www.facebook.com/thegreenhummingbird huzzah for shameless self promotion! LOL)

But getting the new stuff listed made me really proud that i had the focus to get it done in between working so much.

Oh oh and i almost forgot! My 2 year anniversary with my BF is tomorrow! He's the longest relationship i've ever been in and i am so proud of us for sticking it out through SO much struggle in our lives

So all in all... YAY ME! :p

Joanie- How was date night and the movie? Good I hope! Do you have any runs planned for the weekend? I so wish the treadmill was still working. I’m grateful that I have the elliptical so that I can still get in some time but I was hoping to work on pace a little before tomorrow.

Lori- I thought you would have heard more on the job by now too. I know what working in a depressing environment is like and I hope you can get out of your waitressing job soon! I forgot to mention that I’ve seen tinted primers and thought the green tinted stuff might help cover red better. Probably too late but I just thought of it when I saw your post.

Denise- How is your training going?

Ana- You are going to have an eventful couple of months in 2012! That is so exciting. I love weddings so feel free to post as much as you want, I’d love to hear it all! Good job maintaining with TOM, mine too, sucks but what are ya gonna do?

Jillars- Don’t get me wrong, the acting leaves something to be desired. There is one scene where I swear she’s cross eyed but the story does suck you in  I don’t know how all you girls do the long distance relationships. I give you all a lot of credit since that would drive me insane. I don’t think Rob and I have spent more than a week apart since we met 10 years ago.

Amber- Sounds like you have another busy weekend ahead. I actually enjoy being busy, it seems to keep me out of trouble ;)

So this weekend I have the 12 mile run and then in the evening we are going to a tree lighting thingy at an outdoor mall not far from here. Should be fun! I watched the 3rd movie in the Twilight series and like it just as much as the 2nd. I’m starting to understand all the Team Jacob/Team Edward stuff now. BTW: Jake lol! Hmm, what else. I forgot it’s fruity Friday so I’m just going to make that up tomorrow. I got in 10 glasses of water and 2 of coffee yesterday so that was so/so. Everything else is good.

Hope everyone is having a good Friday!

Jillars! Thanks for the article. :) Good read.

Lori - My dog took a while to get potty trained, too, but I guess beagles are notoriously bad for that?? (AKA - stubborn). Anyway, when she DOES even *start* to pee or poop in the house, drag her outside (she might still be going, so hopefully she starts close to a door). Then when she is done going outside (anytime, whether you have to drag her or carry her out of the house, or whether she goes on her own), go INSANE with telling her what a good girl she is. You might feel like you're nuts, but that was when I had the most success with my stubborn dude... I guess that is how a lot of police train their dogs - going crazy when the dog does something good... Lol! I hope it helps!

Lisa - sign up and get your shirt! You would be so bummed about missing out on that...

Have a great Friday, everyone! It is work, school, work today for me... tomorrow is homework then work, and the same for Sunday!

Hi All,

This is a busy board! Hard to keep up. ;)

Joanie - I guess I've just been reading a bit about running, and seems like the heel strike is generally advised against, but that is precisely how I run! Thought I would give a shot to trying something different and was aiming for the midsole strike, but seriously, I was SOOO sore. I have not been able to run again for like three days. I'm finally feeling less sore today, but think I will revert immediately back to my regular posture, even if it is bad. I can try to change it later when I am in better shape if I want to. In the mean time, I just need to stay active.

Amber - Thanks for the link. Shoes or no shoes, I think there is quite a debate in the running world about correct running form, so always good to try something new. That being said , my ankles were way too sore, so won't be doing that again soon. Here's a link to a recent NYT article that was pretty interesting: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/06/magazine/running-christopher-mcdougall.html?pagewanted=all
Sounds like you had a seriously eventful day. I hate being in any kind of public transportation with a group of teen agers. I do not know how middle school teachers manage those kids all day! Also - great news that you can take your test, and good luck with the scholarships! It's definitely been the only way that I could afford school too. So I know where you're coming from. It can be a lot of pressure.
Lisa - I haven't watched twilight or read the books, but you are starting to make me think that I should. Back to back episodes must mean its pretty good!
Joanie - enjoy your date night! I live separately from my husband, so am all too familiar with the Skype date night. Not as good as being together, but I feel grateful that we live in an era where there is Skype. Just imagine how it was for our grandparents! I also love how I put on makeup for skype even though I am staying home. Still want to look good.
Libra - I'm so sorry. I know nothing about puppy training. I've had a few cats, but that is probably of no help since a litter box is a bit different than having to wait to go outside. Good luck!

Alright, I'm off to my first ever yoga class. Here's to hoping it doesn't kill me. ;)

J

Hi girls! Well it's been way too long since I posted last, and I've been lurking these last few days just trying to keep up. We've finally started some of our wedding planning so that's been taking up most of my spare time! We've decided on February here in California. And then we'll be moving to Virginia in March! Yikes! This is going to FLY by.

Jen... so excited about your baby plans!! Sending lots of positive thoughts, prayers & vibes your way. Can't wait to hear the exciting news... =)

Lisa, thanks for the advice on the in-laws. You were totally right. I sucked it up, and I ended up having a great time.

Lori, I've been wondering about your new job too! I hope you start soon and can get out of that place asap!

Ruj Ruj Ruj, you crack me up every time, between the poo the nookie and the "perfect wife" lol, thanks for the advice by the way. I'm sure you're just the perfect lil housewife...lol.

Jillars, your weekend sounded amazing!! I got to take a trip around GBritain once and I absolutely loved it. I'm pretty sure the countryside out there was the prettiest place I've ever seen!

Ayla, congrats on your 20 pounds!!! Your b4 & after photo is totally awesome. You're doing amazing!

Joanie, any word on when you'll be moving... and I'm with you. Death to popcorn!!!

Eren, nothing else describes that boy better than "Dream come True"! I'm so happy for you. Love hearing you on Cloud 9! And he sounds like an amazing chef... and so healthy!

Dawn, hope things can chill out for you soon. You need some downtime, girl! Congrats on MORE big weight loss. Awesome awesome!

Denise, hope you get some laptop time, we need a longer post from you! =)

Well sorry this is brief, I just wanted to touch base with you guys. My weigh in this week was the same, also it's TOM so I'm trying to shake it off. I'm off to the gym in a few minutes, had my banana for breakfast and am going to keep it fruity today! Love you gals!

Finshed more painting today, well primer...don't ever paint ANYTHING RED!!! I've gone over it w/ 3 coats now. I could kill my husband for ever picking out that color.
Was gonna go buy the paint today and get started on the actual paint, but then I realized I probably won't have a chance to get in workouts on Monday & Tuesday cuz I will be watching my niece and nephew for most of the day. My Mom is picking them up to stay the week they are off of school, then she found out she has Dr. appts the first 2 days. So I'm putting the painting off for today to workout (yay me!) and try to do it tomorrow. I have work tonight, take my son to a birthday party tomorrow from 12-2, then I gave Ethan a chart to go by for the week and if he obeyed all the rules, he'd could choose a prize at the end of the week. So right now he's wanting to go to Dairy Queen..ugh..
I'm getting anxious about waiting to hear about starting my new job. I really wish they'd call and let me know for sure what day I'll be starting. Our restaurant is going downhill and fast...I have to get outta there. I've been there for years and in the last 4 months has changed so much I hate it! They fired two of my fav managers (for no reason), they keep raising prices, and the business has gone down. I'm making 1/2 the money I'm used to making and that's why I've been so stressed about money. The new GM doesn't have a clue what she's doing and has hired so many drug addicts its not even funny..seriously, prob 60% of the people I work w/ now are pill heads. And those are the ones she likes...hmmmm...sounds fishy to me! There are about 10 of us that have been there for a lot of years and we are all quitting within the next couple months. ~~anyways..there's my vent of the day~~~

Thanks for the puppy advice, I do try to take out a lot. But I can walk around w/ her for 10 mins + and she still comes in and pees or poos...Shes so confused for some reason.

Lisa, Ethan is feeling better. I hope I don't get it either! Sorry your treadmill broke, at least you have your elliptical.
Aylah-I don't blame you, I never work out in front of my hubby either. I like to be completely alone during my workout.
Ruj-I laughed out loud about your comment to Jen about the nookie..haha, & I would totally buy your coffee smelling wallpaper :) Hazelnut candles are my FAV..and anything pumpkin.
Joanie-How was the movie? A few of my friends went last night too. They wanted me to come, but Jeff works nightshift and Ethan had school this morning. So even if I could've gone..I would have ended up w/ about 3 hrs of sleep and after my night before of the sick child..I don't think sooo. haha. I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know if its worth my time to see. I'm not into soo much that I can't see the bad acting in most of them :p

Well I've managed to sit on the computer way longer than I wanted, so now I"m hungry and I'll have to eat a quick snack before working out.

Anybody have any fun plans this weekend? I'm skipping the savory weekend this time!

Lisa, SIGN UP! What are you waiting for!! =) Gotta get that t-shirt!

Lori, I'm definitely not a die-hard twilight fan. The books were good, the movies are okay, but my niece invited me to go see it and since she invited me, I'm gonna say yes! I don't have a lot of time left to do day to day things with my family, so I'm making memories while I can. As far as the puppy, I had success with mine when I took him out every 1/2 hour, no matter what. It's a lot of time, but it's not any more than the time spent cleaning up his accidents. And if you take him to the same spot, it's usually easier for them the recognize that it's potty time.

Ruje, so glad things are picking up for you! You should have taken advantage of the slow time and sold your wallpaper idea. I love it! I'm big on coffee, vanilla, and anything that smells like clean laundry. =)

I have a busy evening ahead of me! Date night with my hunny (via skype), then a movie date with my niece. I hope I can stay awake! Love you girls. Since most of you will read this tomorrow: HAPPY FRIDAY!

Ruje- I'm glad things are picking up at work for you. I hate being slow at work. It makes the day drrraaaggg...... Let us know how the run goes. So glad your leg is feeling better! I would love scented wallpaper. Might actually be the only thing that would get me to hang it since it's such a pain to change. Anything that smells like caramel & vanilla or spicy cinnamon, yum! I would love a new treadmill but we're going to look into parts first and hopefully we can fix it.

Wyatt had a good day at school so we're watching Dora the Explorer. I love when the backpack eats the supplies...nom, nom, nom, nom, nom, delicioso! LOL!

I got in 4 miles on the elliptical in 37 minutes and then we had italian sausage & corn for dinner. Weird, right? I don't care though since Rob made dinner & cleaned up! Once I put the kiddo to bed I'm going to watch that 3rd Twilight.

Tomorrow I have a PTO meeting which means I'll be out of the office for about 4 hours straight (YAY) and it's Friday and a rest day. Looks promising.

Have a good night ladies!

Hi ladies-

Hope everyone’s had a great week so far!

Jillars- thanks for the advice. I just make him leave the room. I don’t even want to deal with football. Glad you got some comfortable clothes to work out in. it makes a huge difference.

Aylah- don’t worry about your man watching you workout. He’ll find it sexy. Congrats on being close to 30lbs don. That’s excellent!

Lori- the coffee color would be nice. If it smelled like coffee I’d never leave. That’s my next big invention, scratch and sniff wallpaper. Kind of like on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Yeah, any kind of wall work burns a lot. I ripped down tons of horrendous wallpaper a year or so ago and painted this past winter. Urrgghhh. So glad that’s over but I did do a bunch of squats in the process. For your puppy, don’t punish her if she goes in the house. take her out every time she even takes a sip of water and say go pee pee or pottie. She will get it, I promise. Or, go out as often as you can and when she does pee outside go nuts with telling her she’s a good girl.

Joanie- yeah, the leg was fine so I’ll do another one or two this weekend. I hope it stays well. I think changing the way I walk made a big difference. Glad things are better with the boss-woman. White cheddar anything is the devil but especially popcorn, yum!

Jenn-jenn-sorry, forgot to congratulate you on all the nookie and baby making! Hope to hear great news soon!

Lisa-only two pieces of pizza is great, be proud of that! Sorry the treadmill died. Maybe with the holidays there will be some deals.

Eren- doing lots better thanks! Great job on the runs. Nice to hear that your man was there. That pizza sounds awesome too, can’t wait to see the recipe. We are all so happy for you and support whatever you decide to do about moving, etc… Would you be closer to GA if you moved? Roadtrip!

Amber- sorry you had a rough day. They happen unfortunately but luckily the next day is always better. Congrats on the 3 lb loss!!

Things are the same. I was going to run tonight but I went out with a prospective client last night and had a couple of beers so didn’t sleep well so I’ll save my runs for this weekend. Work is getting busy with other events so I’m trying to keep the positive vibes going.
My weight is around 148 still and not budging. Hopefully when I’m back into full running schedule it will go back down.
Ya’ll have a great Friday!!

Lori- Sorry Ethan is so sick, that's the worst. I hope you don't get it.

My one girlfriend said she laughed for about 5 minutes about me watching the first two back to back. I picked up the 3rd from redbox to watch tonight. The acting is so/so but the storyline is pretty good. I don't see many movies at the theater to even if I want to see something I usually have to wait. It's too hard to pay a sitter and then go out and pay out the nose for a movie too.

The last time we had a puppy, almost 17 years ago, we let him out about every 30-45 minutes and if he went, he got a treat before coming in. After a while, he just got it. I don't know of any other tips, sorry :(

Joanie-I wouldn't be working out either if it was as cold here as it is there. I bet you can't wait to move! I did workout yesterday.
Lisa-I can't believe you've never seen those movies. Haha, I've seem them, but I'm not a huge crazy fan like most girls. I can wait til they come out of DVD. I get them all confused on which is which. I remember the 1st one the most, but the 2nd and 3rd I get mixed up. I guess tonights the midnight premiere and I already see girls on my FB page excited about it. They line up at like 9 o'clock to get in to it at 12. Crazy.....I do that crap on Black Friday, but those are deals youll never get again..that movie isn't going anywhere!

I got a great workout in yesterday, but probably won't today. My son woke up at 3 am w/ horrible diarrhea. So i've been up since then, bathing him, doing laundry, watching cartoons w/ him, giving him crackers and juice. He finally passed out at 7 am and is still asleep. I woke back up at 10. Haven't gotten anything done today since he's asleep on the couch. I really hope he feels better when he gets up and REALLY REALLY hope me or Jeff do not catch it! I hate he had to miss school, I"m pretty sure they were doing something fun today for Thanksgiving...making crafts or something.

Congrats to the ones w/ the weight loss this week. I'm thinking my standstill may have to do w/ TOM on the way. I feel it in my breast that is coming...lol...TMI? But maintaining this time of month is an accomplishment for me. I'm usually up 2 or 3 lbs a week before it.
Well, its 11:30 and I havent' even had anything to eat yet. I've been so crazy and busy w/ this bug that has hit this house. I just can't overeat later this evening since I waited so long to eat.

*way off subject...but* does anybody have any advice for getting a puppy house broken? I've had her a month and she is still going in the house...all the time! I'm constantly cleaning up after her. I love her, but it is getting too much. I thought her seeing my other dog going out to the bathroom would make it easier, but its not. And its driving me crazy!

Amber! Nice, nice, nice!!! You are off to a strong start so yay you! Sounds like you had a busy day but I'm glad it's all looking up. It was very nice of you to drive your friend home. I'm about to read that article too, thanks for posting.

Joanie- I'm glad your run went well! I hope Rob can get my treadmill fixed so I can run instead of the elliptical. He got this Saturday figured out for me though so I'll give him a break before I start after him ;) He has a meeting an hour away that starts at 10am and doesn't end till 2 or 3pm. That means he'd be gone almost all of our daylight hours but he got his mom to come over and watch the kids for 3 hours so I can do my 12!

The 1/2 is Dece 3rd. I still haven't signed up but I've told too many people to back out. I'm so nervous about committing completely right now since it's still 3 miles further than I've EVER run. After this long run I hope to have more confidence. If I don't sign up soon I might not get a t-shirt and I do love those hah!

Twilight was on last night and I've never seen the movies (even though my 2 best friends have read the book series about 3 times each and have seen them all) so I started watching about a 1/2 hour in and then watched the 2nd installment that we've had DVR'd since last January and then I rented the 3rd one from Redbox this morning! I have to say the the Bella chic overacts in the 1st one but (unless I was getting used to it) seemed better in the next movie. And, my oh my, Jacob is hot! Oh my. Such a baby face though. I would hit my head to get him to take off his shirt again lol! How was Breaking Dawn? Without revealing the plot though because I have no idea about what happens next.

Welp. I'll talk to you all later!

Amber, you're on a roll! Whatever you're doing, keep it up!! Thanks for the article. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little less chaotic for you...sounds stressful!

I ran tonight for the first time since my 1/2! It was a little difficult, but my foot held up great! I only ran 2.25 miles to start with. I'd like to run again tomorrow, but it's date night so I may not get the chance. If not, Friday is my day. =)

So, am I the only nerd in this crowd that is going to see Breaking Dawn at midnight??

Hey guys!

I was surprised (very surprised) to see the scale down to 247.2 lbs this morning... Another 3 lbs? Seriously, WTF... lol. I don't know why I am suddenly losing, but I like it.

Jillers: For proper running form, you should be landing between your heel and midfoot. Definitely NOT the ball of the foot! (It is a recipe for ankle, calf, and shin pain). Then you are supposed to roll onto the ball of your foot to push off. It is pretty much one continuous motion.

If anyone else is interested in proper running form, here is a link to a Runner's World article I used to help create my TNT training program: www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238
-267-268-8210-0,00.html

I had a frustrating day today: This morning I missed my first bus, then the second bus I took went through the local trailer park (no offense to anyone...) and picked up and ENTIRE busload of jr. high kids (12-14 years old). OMG - I had a huge headache by the time I got off that bus, then I missed the second bus because the first one was late. So I was a half hour late for school. Thankfully it was a work class... then I was stressing about a presentation I had to do this afternoon... then my instructor for that class informed me that I might actually NOT be able to write the exam I missed last week while I was in Nashville (after she said I could write it when I got back). Grrrr... So that meant that I would have gotten a ZERO on that test, so I would no longer have been in the running for any freaking scholarships (which I really, really, really NEED because I can't get student loans). So that frustrated me all afternoon. Then I had to do my presentation, which, thankfully, went really well. I talked to the instructor at the end of class and she said that yes, I COULD write the exam, but everyone who missed it would have to write on the same day (sometimes next week). THANK GOODNESS! I mean, as long as I am not limited to only getting 60% or something stupid like that. So my day got better. Then I tutored a girl in my class in chemistry for 2 hours... So then I drove her home in her car cuz she had some beers while we were studying... and then I walked to a coffee shop and had my brother pick me up... I finally got home at 8 pm.

So I am writing you lovely ladies a message and going to study for anatomy before I hit the sack!

THANK YOU all for being here for me to vent.

*~Amber~*

Hello, lovely ladies! Happy Weigh-In Wednesday! For me, the scale went up a pound to 126.5! Bummer! I'm not surprised, however, I've been pretty naughty lately. I've been eating popcorn in bed. IN BED!!! Talk about a no-no!! I had that yummy white cheddar popcorn, but I threw the rest of it away so I wouldn't be tempted.

Lisa, what is the date of your 1/2? I can't remember, but I'd like to know so I can be cheering you on. =) Good job with the weight loss!

Ayla, glad you're feeling better! CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss, 30lbs is absolutely incredible. Keep it up girly! Your profile picture is GREAT! I love progress pictures! And, I don't take this the wrong way, but I just have to say it: You have great breasts! =)

Lori, I second what Lisa said: maintaining is just as good as losing! They say starting and maintaining are the hardest things to do. Did you work out today? I haven't worked out in weeks, other than a little bit of yoga. All I want to do is hibernate!

Eren, this man of yours sounds like a dream come true! I hope it all works out for you, you deserve happiness. I'm envious of your mileage! My foot feels mostly better but I feel twinges every now and then. I NEED to run.

Jillars, I've never tried to change my running form, but I am also a heel-striker. I have flat feet too, so my form is all messed up! I think what you're trying to do is probably similar to barefoot running. I've done that once (with actual bare feet!) and I was incredibly sore too. Out of curiousity, why are you changing??

That's it for me. Windy, windy day here, and cold. I think it's about 10 degrees but we are having 60mph winds and the forcast is saying "feels like -15." *sigh* Any of you southern girls wanna trade places??

Ayla- That's fantastic! Great job!!!

Jillars- Great job on your loss too!! I have no idea what is technically correct for running. I think I use my calf muscles more than I should and have been trying to pick up my knees more. It messes with my back though so it hasn't been my primary focus. I've heard both schools of thought on foot strike and I would love to hear what some of the other girls do or have heard. I tend to land somewhere close to the ball of my foot but when tired I hit the heel too.

Speaking of running. I was supposed to do 3 miles tonight and came home focused and ready to work on speed and my treadmill is shot! Rob tried to fix it but it was a no go. I came inside and did 30 minutes on the elliptical as fast as I could and it says I went 3.4 miles and burnt 400 calories. Hmmm. Not sure how accurate they are but I worked up a good sweat so that's that.

Have a good night ladies!

Ayla, awesome that you are so close to your goal! Congrats. I hope to be right where you are in about three or four months time. That is really fantastic. 30 lbs is a huge achievement!

I appear to be down 2.5 lbs from last week. I didn't believe the scale, so I double checked on the scale at the gym today - but sure enough, I'm at 172. I hope to move down to 170 by next week so will be extra careful with portions & extra hard working at the gym.

However, I am trying to change my running form, and it is making me a lot more sore, and I can run for as long. I'm not sure if I should stick with it or not. Has anyone tried to do this before? I realized I land on my heel, and you are really supposed to land on the mid-foot or ball of your foot, so I've got it all wrong. If you ladies have any experience with this, that would be amazing.

J

Lori- Sorry about the scale stalemate but maintaining really is just as good as losing. Especially, when you go off diet for a day or two. I can't wait to see pics of the kitchen so get crackin' ;)

Eren- Sounds like you really have been on cloud 9. I hope everything works out for you so you can move with Michael. Great job keeping up with your runs and for getting 3rd place! The jeans aren't a bad motivator either :)

I weighed in at 143.8 so that's down from last week. I have a 3 mile run tonight and I'm hoping Rob has plans for dinner because I didn't get the roast in the crockpot. He'll probably make burgers and a veggie which is fine. I've been good so far for breakfast and lunch.

Have a great day ladies!

Oh goodness, I should've checked in this weekend but I was too busy on cloud 9 haha, my life has been amazing and ridiculous lately.

I tried to catch up on all the posts, but there's just too many - so I'm sorry, I skimmed! But Lisa and Ana, WAY TO GO on the runs!!! You girls are awesome. Ruje, so glad to see your pretty face again, how'd your legs heal after your little break? And Jen, yaaaaay baby fever!!! happy thoughts sent your way!!! Joanie I hope work is going better for you this week. Did your foot ever heal? Aylah how are you feeling?! I hope your stomach issues have settled.

So last week was a weird week for my mileage (and girls, I have not forgotten, I know I need to post the marathon plan and I will, promise) but I got in about six runs in and it included two 5ks. I finished that fall race series third for my age group last wednesday, and then saturday I ran another 5k and finished in 26:12, so I felt good about that - and Michael went with me to both! So it made it even more fun. (He didn't run, but it was nice to have the support for a change).

Saturday i made an amazing gluten/yeast free vegan pizza for dinner and it was AMAZING. I'll be sure to post that recipe too - it was seriously so good and calmed my pizza craving. Michael cooked for me again Saturday night because i had a work assignment (he's seriously a dream) and we had kind of zesty fish tacos - yum!

His last week in town is next Tuesday, then he moves, but we are definitely on the same page and we're trying to actually get me to move his way. (We've only spent two days apart since we had our first date) I was hoping to move close, but he's trying to get me in the same town haha so it's awesome. It's really soon, but nothing has ever felt more right. It's crazy. Last night we all went out to sing karaoke and he picked "Let's Stay Together" to sing with me- swoon. Hah. Anyway, I'm just absolutely giddy today. So fingers crossed I can find a job near Michael, and soon. I won't have to move states, which is wonderful haha,so fingers crossed and happy thoughts! If I can't find one at a newspaper I'm seriously considering just moving anyway - but we'll play that bit by ear.

So far this week I've done a 5 mile run and a 9.2 mile run, tomorrow is an 8.5 mile run and a 10 mile run this weekend. I'm also going to make time for my ketllebell DVD this week - I didn't last week. I haven't lost anything on the scale - but i think that's just cuz of the no strength workout last week. BUT I did buy, and am presently wearing, my first pair EVER of SIZE TWO JEANS!!!!! That was an accomplishment i never thought I'd see when I wished it three years ago. So yay, and thanks girls for helping me out with that journey! You girls rock.

Anyway, time to get some work done. Hope you all have a happy hump day! Love you all.

Just keep running!

Jillars- Sounds like you had an eventful weekend and I don't see why your indulgences wouldn't be evened out with those healthy vegan meals. I just gave my dad the same suggestion for veggies, soup! If you have a favorite recipe I'd love it if you'd share. He's always been the type to season and experiment so I could see him coming up with something really good.

Ayla- Great job on you loss so far. You should be proud! That's a fantastic achievement. I know what you mean about working out in front of others, awkward! We have an elliptical in the living room and after a while they just start to ignore you lol :)

Lori- You need to post pictures when you're done. I'm a terrible decorater. I only have a few items on my walls. I can never decide what to put up. I believe that you burned all those cals painting though. The last time we did that here, my arms were so sore.

Joanie- That's not cold, it's freezing! You've got my respect, I thought Ohio was bad. Thanks for saying I encourage you because you and Eren, Ana, Lori, Denise, Ruje, Jen, Jillars, Val, Ayla, Amber, etc, etc. have done that for me and so much more. I really cannot believe that I'm about to attempt a half and it has a LOT to do with you girls. I'm so nervous that I'm breaking out lol! I plotted this weekends 12 mile run already and I can't wait. Crazy. I'm glad you're working things out with your boss. It sounds like it was all a defense mechanism but it's better to leave without any bitter feelings. Way to go on that furniture sale too, WOW!

So I did my elliptical workout for 45 minutes and helped with homework and put the kids to bed. We ordered pizza. I know. It's not Saturday. I was pressed for time so I tried to work a bit harder and limited myself to 2 slices. Hopefully I didn't do much damage. The rest of the day was really good and I have a roast and veggies to slow cook for tomorrow so no more takeout.

See you all at weigh in tomorrow!

Hi Ladies!

First of all, I don’t want to hear ANY whining about how cold it is. If you want to experience cold, come visit me. It is COLD today, -11F. That’s MINUS ELEVEN. I will NOT miss the Alaskan tempts when I move!
It’s been a few days since I’ve been on so this post is going to be a book! Here goes…

As far as the situation goes with my boss, I’m pretty sure things are mended. She wouldn’t talk to me, so I ended up texting her and telling her that I’m sorry my being honest has lead to a rift between us, but I love her and she is very important to me. That softened her up a little. I think she’s just terrified of people taken advantage of her and, as Eren said, she may be creating distance so it’s easier when I leave. A lot of you didn’t understand why she would “uninvited” me, I think her intention was to make the decision easier on me.

Lisa, I’m so jealous of your running! Every time you post I think “I should be doing that!” I haven’t ran at all since my ½, mostly due to my foot, but these days it’s because it’s too freakin cold out!!! I’m so proud of you tho, you are inspiring me to get back to it! Your comment about craigslist creepers made me laugh. Don’t worry, there’s always someone right there with me. So far I’ve sold $1500 worth of furniture for her!

Valerific, just to fill you in, John lives in Vancouver, WA, and I am in Wasilla, AK. We’ve been together for about 1.5 years, and the distance is getting unbearable! You mentioned in one of your posts that you usually eat “whatever” when you get home. Have you figured out a solution to that? Do you have 1 day/week (or a couple hours) that you could prep some easy meals? That might make it easier to grab the good stuff instead of whatever is convenient. I like Lisa's idea to "pack" your dinner too.

Ayla, are you still feeling okay? I hope so! What time do you usually go to bed? They say calcium is supposed to help you sleep. Maybe try a supplement before you go to bed.

Jillars, London sounds incredible!

Ridaht, good job sticking to your cals!!

Denise, thanks for the encouragement. You always make me smile. =)

Amber, sounds like the CMA’s were awesome! I was impressed that Taylor got Eof the Y. And that song she sang…standing ovation?! Way to go, girly! Although I’m not a big country fan, I have a huge amount of respect for what she’s made of herself. Congrats on your 4lb loss! Incredible!

Ana, congrats on being an Auntie!! How exciting!!! =) Babies are so fun! And thanks for the advice you gave Ayla, what a genius idea! I am NOT a morning person either, so maybe I’ll try that too.

Jenbelle, SO exciting!!! Good luck getting pregnant! Ahh, I’m doing the happy dance for you! You will be an excellent mommy. =)

Lori, sounds like you were as naughty as I was with food! ;) Time to get back on track, both of us!! I’ll do it if you do it! As far as your neighbor, I would keep an eye out for anymore weirdness. If that little girls is in danger or being neglected, then something needs to be done. On the other hand, you don’t want to turn them in if there’s nothing wrong. Of course, if there’s TRULY nothing wrong then CPS will figure that out, in a perfect world. Just trust your instinct. And good luck with your kitchen! That's a big project to tackle.

Ruje, glad to hear your leg is feeling better. Is it still good today after the run? Every time I see the NBA headlines I think of you. =)

Okay, I know I missed a bunch, but there were a ton of posts! Have a great day, ladies.

Ruj, I actually thought about yellow once, but I'm trying to go w/a coffee theme. So i don't think it'd match.
Lisa-I'm going to look at those wall decal quotes for my kitchen and go w/ a color around those. I have a couple perfect places for some of the decals. I don't wanna pick a color, then get the decals and they either blend in and can't see them or they clash.
I got all the primering finished, mostly...needs a little touch ups. Took around 2 hours. I worked on it for about an hour, tracked on here and it said 355 calories for painted for 60 mins?! IDK if I believe that or not. Seems a little much, of course I was up and down off the chair quite a lot. I'm so glad that red is gone! I'm irritated I didn't take time to work out today though since I only did half yesterday. Plus, tomorrow's weigh-in....Lunch I had 2 low carb wheat tortilla w/ turkey pepperoni and some marinara sauce..was only 280 calories for them. Much better than eating regular pizza ;)
Now that I've sat down I'm feeling super sleepy but I gotta get my son off the bus in 10 mins and then get a shower and ready for work! My kitchen is a disaster, crap everywhere right now. I'm gonna drive myself insane til its finished. My goal is to have it back to normal by this weekend...meaning new paint, shelves back up and everything back in place. Then on to a new project, i'm a list maker, so sitting here thinking of all the things I need to put on my lists. Talk to you girls later

Jillars- I am the same way, i sleep as late as possible and then get up and run around the house like a mad woman to get ready to go, LOL. I like working out in the evening, its just really hard because the evenings are usually spend on the couch with my man watching tv or something, ya know? Because of our small place, for me to workout in the evening means him basically watching me the whole time and its kinda embarrassing for me. Maybe i should get over that, because on the other hand, him watching motivates me to show off a little bit and work a little harder at it, LOL.

Tiny Tuesday is going well so far, and i not only stretched but danced to some good music for about 15 minutes this afternoon as well! Broke a good sweat and then decided while looking in the mirror that it was about time to take a Before and After shot of my progress, which is now on my profile! (Shameless profile pimping going on here!)

Cheers to 20 pounds gone since joining spark and cheers to finally getting past 180 to 179 and staying there a while!

Hi ladies!

I'm back from a long weekend in London. There was A LOT of walking around to see the sites, so hopefully that counted as some exercise. We managed to get over to the Occupy protests, see a parade, some art galleries & burrough market, amongst other things. The friend who joined me is from Belgium and she came with delicious Belgian dark chocolate and trappist monk beer. There were a lot of rich indulgences this weekend. Hopefully that was off set by the fact that my friend is also a vegan, so we made all of our meals at home, and they were mostly huge portions of deliciously prepared veggies and smaller portions of wholegrains. I think as a whole it might balance out over the weekend, but definitely on the higher calorie consumption side. I guess we'll see at the weigh in on Wednesday. ;) Either way, it was a lovely weekend and prepared me to get back to work with full concentration.
In other news, I finally splurged and bought some nice exercise pants. I had two really old terrible pairs that look awful and weren't that comfortable since one was always having to be pulled up and the other was too long. When I decided to get into shape, I didn't want to go buy a bunch of new clothes and then find I didn't ever use them, so figured I'd only buy them once I had 'proved' to myself I would actually be using them by regularly going to the gym for a month. Anyway, I have been so finally decided to splurge. I'm very excited with my two new Nike running pants which were pricey, but at least they were on sale, and no more pulling up my pants while jogging! I also got an ipod shuffle so I can continue running with some music as my travels resume next month. Yay! My husband and I don't exchange expensive presents for the holidays, so I figured this was an early Christmas present for myself.
Ruje, Lisa & Anna - it's so inspiring to see your starting weight and how successful you all have been at losing weight & staying healthy. Way to go ladies!
Ayla - have you tried working out in the evenings? I'm not a 'morning person' either, and have only been successful at working out regularly when I schedule for the evenings. Then, if I have a day off or something, then I can work out in the late morning. But, generally - I would never work out if I had to be out of bed two hours early. I like to get out of bed 10 minutes before I have to be somewhere and sprint out of the house and am always runnign late. It's kind of terrible. ;)
Jenbelle - good luck on baby watch. That is super exciting!
Ruje - Maybe you should get Mark an exercise bike. That way he can at least drink while bicycling and watching football? JK ;) Football is seriously a tricky one. I'm so thankful my husband is not into watching any kind of sports! Where we live the World Cup is a huge deal, and I'm pretty sure it must result in at least a few divorces since the games are on at all hours of the night & day with the different time zones. Maybe there's some compromise to be had - like you won't bug him when he watches football if he contributes to the house in A, B & C way? I don't know... Good luck!
Lfranta - sorry to hear about your dad's health, but that is great that he wants to eat healthier! Do you think he'd be willing to do a household purge and get rid of all of the things in the house that aren't healthy to eat? I know I have no self control when there is something I want to eat at home! I'm a big chocolate fan. There are those 100 calorie chocolate puddings, but if there are 4 in my house, then I will likely eat two or three. Instead of buying them in packs of 4 and having them around the house, I don't keep them in the house at all. If I want to have dessert, I now have to go out to get it, and I buy an individual nicer dessert and have one a few times a week. Another thing that is low cost is I make a lot of veggie and bean soups. These are frequently things like carrots, onions, beans and other cheap ingredients. I then freeze portions in individual size portions so I have 'fast food' in case I am too lazy to make a meal. It's a really cheap and low calorie way to get more veggies into your diet, create small/healthy meals, and are so easy to make, especially if you have a slow cooker!

Alright, I better go so I can make it to the gym tonight.
Have a great week everyone!

J

Lori- The kitchen situation would drive me nuts too. I like the idea of brown, especially next to a green living room. I'm going to have to say no-way to the yellow suggestion (sorry Ruje). My kitchen is canary yellow and I've hated it since day one. My husband too. We just can't think of anything better lol!

Ruje- Yeah, he's been going to a local farmers market but here in Ohio they are starting to be slim pickings. Great job on your run! That's great considereing the pain you were having and the week off :) I'll be praying for a turn around for you in sales. That's rough!

Today has been good so far. An egg & toast for breakfast. 2 pears for a snack since I ate this morning at 7am and it's going on 1pm without lunch yet :( I packed a small version of our meatloaf dinner from Sunday so that's easy. Not sure what to do for dinner yet. Tonight is CT night and that's it!

Have a good one ladies!

Lisa- yeah it sucks a big one here. Between losing the hockey team and the basketball team not playing our clients are losing faith and I don’t blame them at all! It’s good to hear that your dad is talking about healthy eating. That’s a great step. I’ll pray for his comfort. He can also go to farmers markets for cheaper veggies/fruits. They are sometimes a little cheaper than grocery stores.

Lori- I ain’t going anywhere sugar booger. Your kitchen sounds terrible, paint that crap girl! How about a yellow to remind you of sunlight?

Ayla- day off? Lucky

So, I ran last night, 2.5 miles. It felt great and I didn’t want to stop but my leg started to yell at me so I did. Can’t wait until my next one!
I was up in weight again today but I think my body is confused from eating a lot last week and not running to have a TOM and just the way the Earth is rotating around the sun and the planets….WTF.

Have a great week everyone!

Good Morning Ladies!
Thaaaaats right, its still morning on my day off and i'm out of bed! Yay Me!

Making some coffee while i check my emails, and then a quick snack and a good stretch before i decided what i want to do today!

Meatless Monday went really well yesterday, i had grapes and greek yogurt for breakfast, a "smart ones" brand potatoes and broccoli thing for lunch, and a couple carrots with some munster cheese for dinner. YUM

I think for tiny tuesday i want spaghetti for dinner... Because i never eat much of it when we make it anyway, so it will be easy to keep tiny!
