I wouldn't say I'm specifically trying for a "low carb" diet in and of itself; but that it's happening because of the temporary need to cut sugar and starch. But my breakfast had 35g carbs from broccoli and veggies this morning... and I had about 5 cups of parsley yesterday (a rarity to find!) And a total of a bit over 100g carb just from veg - some times I do add quinoa, brown rice, or such, as well - but I find those can still trigger cravings and I struggle with portion sizes on those sometimes. It's getting better, but slowly.
Sadly, greens are a little hard to get where I live. All the local greens taste the same (all taste pretty much like a bitter bok choy) and have about the same nutritional components. There are a FEW varieties that crop up during certain seasons (some people are learning to do hydroponics for green leaf lettuce.) But we have no access to kale, chard, collards, etc. Romaine and spinach sometimes show up, but are usually wilted and/or browning/smelly when they get here. Sadness! But I do try to eat 4-5 cups of salad, minimum, with a base of some sort of green, even if I don't love it - I add lemon and herbs to help with that! And I'm experimenting with other salad dressing recipes :) Then we do a lot of other veggies as we can find them.
I know our meat isn't "clean" either - no organic, grass-fed options here even if I wanted them. Or, rare to find it at least. I am trying to ask around for local farmers, to see if they would sell their animals. I have been told I can buy a local chicken - but then I have to kill and clean it myself! I'm not sure I'm ready for that! *lol* Maybe I can find someone to do that for me...
Water is good! It's all I drink :)
I think I'll just wait it out, see how it goes as I adapt, and see what happens when more carbs come back in the picture.
Thanks for all the thoughts and ideas!

I don't know if you're trying to eat low carb...I don't. I 'found' Paleo after eating stricter than Paleo for other reasons.
What I've stumbled upon over the past couple of years is you REALLY need to be getting plenty of greens, even if you're eating low carb. It's going to help. There are bazillions of greens and ways to prepare them, so don't just think spinach.
You may also want to make sure you're drinking enough water. I drink about 3L of water and also several cups of tea a day. Good hydration is needed by every body. (and that's every...body, not everybody :) )

Another thing you can try to, if you're bothered by it, is go to the health food store or whole foods and get some peppermint drops (organic). It should help if you take a few drops before going to bed.
I have a perfect body. I just pad it for protection.
No matter what your life is like make sure you have a perfect soundtrack for it.

Hm, well, no health issues that I know of or that were found at doctor visits...
I wonder if it may be the low carb. I do many veggies (usually over 7 cups per day) but, temporarily, we've cut all fruit and starch (except for occasional quinoa and rice) to help break sugar addictions (I'd turn in to the grinch if I didn't get my sugary dessert every single night... and while cravings have lessened quite a bit, when I had a bowl of banana "ice cream" it brought back the cravings somewhat... so, still wanting to limit that for a little longer.)
So, perhaps it'll just be a time adjustment thing, and once I'm ready to bring back fruit and starchy veggies, it will get better :)

Sounds like you might be in ketosis which can be from high protein intake with a very low carb intake. If it really bothers you, try increasing some veggies (carbs) to see if it changes. I understand that the ketosis you may be experiencing will eventually go away once your body adapts to burning fat as fuel instead of carbs. I'm also informed that ketosis is only a problem for people with kidney disease. I'm not in the medical profession but this is what I've read while on the Paleo program. If you are concerned, Google ketosis to check out the facts.

Be careful when you pass judgement on another. Life teaches us lessons in harsh ways when we are mean to others.
Ok, maybe this is kind of gross *lol*... but is anyone else dealing with some horrid morning breath?? Once I brush, I'm fine the rest of the day. But over night - eegads!! It gets rough! (And yes, I brush teeth and tongue before going to bed.) I'm on day 22 of the paleo eating, and pretty much following 100% (maybe a little too high in nuts and nut butter.. I'm working on serving sized next!)
I did a fruit-and-veggie juice fast once, and by day 5, I had ZERO morning breath - it was crazy, and I'd almost forget to brush my teeth some days because of it :)
So, it's just something i noticed, and was curious if others had noticed the same!
