That does sound lovely! We raise a lot of basil and I frequently (spring - autumn -- not now of course, we're freezing/ below) do a pesto (no pignols). Num!

i do the same. I was raised in Texas im use to being on a farm. Now I'm in cali so we have my in laws raise a cow a year and we buy 1/2 of it once they get it butchered.

I raid the fridge and pull out veggies and meat and just throw something together. I made a AWESOME sauce with half an avocado, few handfuls of steamed spinach, a little EVO, and a bunch of fresh cilantro and basil. It was soooo good, very close to a pesto. I put it over spaghetti squash and grilled shrimp. ( i should say i added all the sauce stuff in a food processor)

I've tried, too, and sparkrecipes does have a gluten-free option but it's FULL of other crap (I mean grains), so you have to ya know...sort that out!

I was never a huge fan of recipes (though I post stuff on my personal blog that I make). I have been cooking for 35 years or so (since age 8 for the whole family). We didn't have anything fancy but it was fresh (a ranch where we raised everything). So, I tend to just toss things together, whatever's on hand!

Hey Lily (love your name btw) I did mean on here originally. you know how they have the pre planned menu , I was wondering if there was a way to customize their suggestions to a more paleo/ celiac friendly way. However im totally open to any paleo meal planning site anyone has. I get in such a rut of just getting home late dicing up soem chicken and veggies and sautee it. Which is nice when my husband is off on weekends since its just me and the kiddo. However he doenst eat veggies and now hes off on week nights instead ( hes a police officer and works nights, so when hes working week nights its nice soemtimes cause i get home and just make soemthing simple for myself) I need to finsd a way to dress up paleo meals so he will like them or at least try them. Its sad my son will eat almost any veggie you throw at him, my husband wont even take a bite .

I love it, especially since i have the ap on my phone it makes it easy when I'm at the grocery store to reference a recipe if its a last minute add to my grocery list. Yea i def need pictures to go along with my recipes =). I think i just found you on pinterest, beautiful little blond guy? To search you just type the name in the search filed and click on pinners instead of boards.

My name on there is Amber Christopherson. The pic is one of my darling toddler ;)

Pinterest is great because it's right there, easy to pin, lots of pics (I'm pretty visual with food ideas lol) and easy to get to later. :)

How do I search for a specific name that isn't on my friends list?

I am on the mailing list for Savingdinner.con, but never purchased a plan. Was the variety as good as it appears?

I can't stand that prepared thing because it' financially silly for just me and my toddler, and I don't necessarily like much of their recipes. But, I'm a total foodie and love to cook, even though I am super crunched for time. I utilize Pinterest often for ideas (I have a whole Paleo/DF/GF/Primal board lol) as well as:

http://beta.primal-palate.com/

http://www.elanaspantry.com/weekly-paleo
-meal-plan/

http://robbwolf.com/what-is-the-paleo-di
et/meal-plans-shopping-guides/

http://www.paleoeffect.com/paleo-quick-g
uide/

Those give me ideas and I keep a running list of recipes I want to try soon. I sit down each week and look at what I currently have in the house, and look at what recipes I want to try and think about any favorites that sound yummy, and then plan meals that allow me to buy in bulk where possible and not a ton of ingredients. Works for us :)

I purchased one of the paleo menu mailers from SavingDinner.com

I've used it for the last week and am enjoying it. It created a great shopping list, too.

It doesn't work for me because I'm MUCH stricter than Paleo (loads of food sensitivities, not just gluten & I'm Celiac -- no genetic ability to process it!) BUT

low carb may help or gluten-free

I know you can some what customize what you want to show up on the menus that spark suggest for you. but i was wondering if anyone has been able to customized it to be paleo friendly? I was playing with it now i love the idea that you can print a shopping list and get ideas from it but when i printed the shopping list and removed all the bread, grains, wheat, legumes and dairy i wasn't left with very many meal ideas on the list. I usually dont use the pre made menu anyway but if i could customize it it might help me step out of the box and switch up my meals some. I get in the habit of the same old meals every week. Anyway im new here and still learning how to use everything, was wondering if anyone had some insight on thtis.
