Today is my day one of the Paleo.
Well ------------ Im a newbie here and have decided that since I have given up all and any sweets for lent - it would be a great time to start this lifestyle change.
Im 58 years old - have been an active sparkperson for about 4 years............. over those years Ive lost 6 permanent pounds. Started at 142ish ------------ and my regular weight now seems to be 136. When I say regular weight --------- I mean the one I seem to keep coming back to - with todays lifestyle and habits. I can starve off a few pounds but bob right back up to 136 when I return to normal eating habits.................. ok -so time to take a serious look at normal eating habits and finally make that tough change.. I quit smoking nearly 9 years ago after smoking for 30 years --------------- so I have the dicipline to do this too.
Getting started is a bit shaky - have to find a good source of info and Im not buying the book.
I am going to give this the entire month of march and see how it goes............... its going to be trickly since Im on vacation for 5 days in March........ but I think I can make it work.
Also - Im 58 years old - 5'3" abd 136 pounds.................. but have a 37 inch belly - and can grab a handful of belly fat. I bike ride- jog-power walk ---------- workout with kettlebells and get to the gyn at least 3 times per week. All of that is new for me since on SP - . Ive made alot of great lifestyle changes - but more in the area of working out and less about eating although I do eat differantly than when I first started. I am a firm believer in that eating determines weight -= and working out tones and firms up the body. I really dont care that much what the scale says and long as i can get rid of most of this jiggly body fat. Quite a challenge for my age............. LOL
Time to learn better eating............... so here I am.

I believe weight loss is more about how much you eat - and exercise is more about toning.
