It sounds awesome, and thank you for the "starve the sugar dragon" quote--that's a definite one for the memory banks. I'll tell it to my daughter. Like you, I am amazed that my own loved one is on board with me, and not just a prisoner on my Paleo ship!

It was so great! Very inspiring, funny and informative - I would definitely recommend it to anyone lucky enough to be near a future workshop.....ours (in ATL) was a really big crowd and had folks all the way from Tennessee! I have to say, Melissa and Dallas are the most beautiful people I have ever seen! It was almost distracting how seriously pretty they both are, but they're so darn smart that you can't help but listen!

The first half of the day we talked about how to decide if a food is healthy or unhealthy - which meant a lot of discussion about the psychological, hormonal and inflammatory effects of various foods as well as a good discussion about gut health. Then in the afternoon we talked more about the specific good/bad foods, how to plan meals in general and pre/post workout meals.

I was pretty familiar with their blogs so I didn't get a lot of surprises, but some things (like the insulin/glycogen response and the role of leptin) were made a lot more clear! I also really loved that DH went with me and was really excited - sometimes I worry that I pushed all this on him and he doesn't really understand why we do it LOL!

The gym we were at had an awesome Paleo lunch catered in for us - so we ate lots of yummy food and had a chance to talk with the authors of Paleo Comfort Foods AND I got my copy signed! yay! We also sampled some of the liquid fish oil that Whole9 sells on the site - chocolate is actually pretty good, but I didn't care for vanilla or tangerine. I did ask why liquid vs capsules and Melissa said it was because you can more easily tell if it's rancid (which could be hidden in capsules) and just because it tastes better. It's also more concentrated so you just take 1 tsp instead of so many capsules. I noticed I didn't have any fishy burps!

I'm definitely inspired to try another Whole 30 and clean up my eating a bit more! Starting March 1!! (Funny, I did my first Whole 30 exactly a year ago!)

I've never heard of this kind of thing. I'm sure you'll have fun AND that they can tell you are eating clean! lol! I want to google it, but I want to find out what made you aware of it, and what you're looking for out of it, your focus. It'd be fun to hear!

I'm super stoked to be going to the one in Atlanta on Sunday - has anyone ever been??

I've been eating totally clean all week - like they'll be able to look at me and tell? LOL!
