YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

I really don't eat dessert usually other than fruit. I have always been more of a salty fatty snack girl! I even skipped birthday cake for some nice blackberries before! If I crave sweets it is usually at odd times when i just probably need to eat more.

thanks Cindy- how often do you eat dessert? I seem to be an all or nothing kind of girl- if I make desserts- I eat them at every meal! I've been having a shake of almond milk/cocoa and stevia for desserts lately!

Are nut butters a trigger for you? If not I find that they take away my sweet cravings. I just can't put the darn things down! I do know you can also make cookies with nut butter, eggs, some type of sweetener and not much else. I think the recipe was here on SP recipes I came across it looking for gluten free ones.

I did not grow up in a dessert house so not having it has never really been a problem for me. HOwever, on those nights when I really want something sweet I either have half of a Larabar which are made out of dried fruit and nuts or I make a small smoothy with canned coconut milk and frozen fruit. I know it still is fruit but it adds some fat in there and if the fruit is frozen it is almost like ice cream. ( my fav is pineapple and strawberry although sometimes I will add a handful of blueberries)

There's nothing scarier than knowing exactly where you want to go in the world but having no idea how to get there...except maybe knowing where you want to go, knowing how to get there and having no idea who you are when you arrive.

Oh yeah; love that one Purrballs...yummmm. Baked apples are so, so good!

I went into my little local town today and visited the little local produce stand for the first time this season. Got a bag of beautiful lettuce, 3 gorgeous zucchini, AND, AND a pint of strawberries that I will have for "dessert" tonight with a glop of coconut cream. Hmmmm, some chopped nuts on that might be good.

PS: I put the word "dessert" in quotes because that strawberry dish will most likely turn out to be my dinner!

Dessert: a dish you have after a meal that is usually sweet (sugary)? Do I have that right?

Yup, dark chocolate is good.

And, there are lots of great sweet treat recipes that don't have grains in them. They often have ground up nuts/seeds for any crispy/crunchy parts that are needed. I have recipes I could share but you'd probably get faster results by Googling for some.

One of my favorite quick desserts is orange segments cut up in a bowl, two or three drops liquid stevia extract mixed in and a BIG dollop of coconut cream on top. YUMMMMMM!

I buy small dark chocolate disks from Euphoria Chocolates (local co.) it takes 16 of those disks to make one ounce. I allow myself two (and only two) after lunch and after dinner if I want.. No more!

Normally, if I want a dessert, I'll have some berries with whipped cream on them. About 1/2 cup.

I eat fruit daily for my sugar fix. I don't eat "dessert" cause I'm usually too busy or lazy to actually "make" something. Sometimes I look forward to sweet potato w/fresh squeezed orange juice (1-2T), cinnamon, nutmeg, maybe a bit of olive oil, maybe a coupla raisins, walnuts, pumpkin seeds.

Pumpkin pie, no crust, or a macaroon (saweet!) (I shared a recipe here somewhere ... too busy to look it up right now, but will later if you can't find it).

My dessert is usually some Greek yogurt with some berries. I guess I'm more Primal than Paleo.

My down fall seems to be dessert! I can stay away from the wheat without problem but it is the dessert that is a trigger food for me. do you eat dessert every day and still lose? what are your favorite desserts besides fruit?

I was eating a square of chocolate (85%) a day but then it turned into 5 times a day....
