As most of you know, I am still muddling my way through this, yet committed to it. It all makes sense and my body responds best to this path. In addition, my food sensitivity panel holds a megaphone stating: NO GRAINS (I am already GF as I am Celiac)! NO LEGUMES! NO DAIRY (I am casein allergic!) I don't eat sugar, no processed food, organic as much as possible. I don't like eggs or fish, so that limits me. But I do take plenty of EFA's in capsule form to make up for the lack of fish.
Coming slowly out of 9 month stint with adrenal exhaustion and being given the Rx to REST has been one of my greatest challenges. That deeply effects my ability to exercise.
Gallbladder is gone, so I take high lipid digestive enzymes with every meal. I'm thinking because I don't have the bile production to cut the the fat, my loss may be a little stalled because I'm not confining my diet to leaner meats. But I can also tell you this...if I eat legumes and GF grains, I have massive stomach upset (indigestion) and I'm hungrier. I seem to digest cook veggies better than raw (both my GI doc and regular doc recommend this for me). So if I eat raw veggies, I take several Bean-Zyme which works wonders.
I think I'm somewhere between Primal and Paleo. I don't eat dairy (so this pushes me more towards Paleo), any grains, beans, or legumes. I don't follow Cordain's insistence on eating lean meats...I eat whatever meats I can get my paws on, including salami and pepperoni (so this pushed me back towards Primal).
Fruit is extremely rare in my diet, but that will probably change when it comes back in season. Currently, I have fruit a couple of times per month at most.
My daily staples are eggs, veggies, grass-fed beef, and coconut oil. Sometimes I swap out beef for chicken or pork.
I eat NOTHING that comes from a package.
For fitness, I follow Sisson's plan exactly. I take long walks every day, do heave lifting three days per week, and sprint once per week.
My BF is more Primal. He uses dairy, and he still uses packaged foods that have mostly primal ingredients.

I have Celiacs, so no gluten/grains. I do not eat rice or other grains now, or dairy. I stick to meats, fruits and veggies. I will eat sweet potatoes and will most likely have fresh garden beans from the garden this summer.
Goat cheese is the hard one for me, as my favorite salad is arugula, strawberries, red onion, with goat cheese and pecans. I do enjoy it without the goat cheese - but I do miss it :)

I am relatively new to this, a couple months, and have folllowed Mark Sisson from the beginning. I can't have gluten and dairy (I do cheat with the dairy and pay for it) and have felt tons better with no grains at all! The debatable foods i do sometimes eat are sweet potatoes, white potatoes and beans. I would say I eat the debatable foods once a week or so. Oh and dark chocolate, which has become an issue and am trying to break that habit now before it gets any worse!
I follow a more primal/archevore lifestyle as well. It just seems more sensical to me. (Did I use "sensical" properly? lol) I eat a lot of eggs, at least 4+ a day, lots of fat!! and some full fat dairy. Occasionally I eat beans and fruit, but mostly fats, meat and some veggies. Of course I do this when I am more disciplined. Lately I've upped my workouts (started my own BootCamp) so I've been famished all the time and I've been eating more sugary stuff than normal. I eat more fruits now and nuts are like crack to me. I also occasionally eat white rice or a potato with lots of butter!!
I am always good at not eating any gluten grains though. Right after I eat anything with wheat I bloat and feel horrible.
I tend to fall into a primal/archevore lifestyle. Have you read PaNu? Now known as Archevore? I like that, the idea is basically that we don't need to eat exactly what our ancestors ate, we just need to avoid things that harm us. If you can tolerate it, like dairy or rice, then it is okay. If it is known to cause issues on its own, like gluten grains, avoid it.

I eat primal rather than strict paleo- I include full fat plain yogurt and old cheese. No grains and no legumes. I do eat white potatoes very occasionally, daily I aim for 8-10 servings of veggies and fruits. Nuts- once or twice a week. Protein from meats,fish and eggs daily of course.
