I drink my coffee black - and fairly strong... I've not used milk or sugar of any kind in it since I was probably in jr. high school... But I love my coffee!!

Nothing.

Before Paleo, double no-fat milk and sugar.

My husband convinced me that if I really wanted the "coffee", then I could drink it black. Otherwise it was just a sneaky way to get the dairy and sugar.

He was right. It was mostly just the dairy and sugar.

The two cups I drink on the weekend when we have breakfast out, are now black. I actually do like it :)

LOL, Chicarella, I hear you. ... it grew to be a burden thinking about it all the time (addiction to dairy). I never tried SO coconut milk in coffee, just canned coconut milk. It didn't agree as I got an irritated throat. Coffee isn't so good for my gut anyway because I have celiac/a leaky one and it contributes, so it was best for me to emoticon .

I whittled my way out of coffee drinking, and it didn't seem important after a while. I switched the habit of it (which I also find comfort in) by drinking an herbal tea once in a while instead. It feels "cleaner." I still love the SMELL of coffee and enjoy that, too. I used to do that when I went gluten-free: SMELL pizza and baked goods: it was almost as gratifying and less wasted calories! LOL.

Butter sounds good. emoticon

I personally use heavy cream. That or I use coconut milk, from the can. I stay away from the SO stuff just because iti s more processed. I have also used butter, which is VERY yummy!

Dotslady, that's what I'm afraid off...having to give it up completely. Which might not be such a bad thing. I'll try some coconut milk, if I switched to heavy cream, omg...there would be no help for me! lol

I quit dairy (very hard for me), and in doing so I ended up giving up coffee. To me, there were no substitutes for 1/2 and 1/2, except heavy cream. *sigh*

Good luck.

Butter? butter? really? I've never thought of that. but you know, hot buttered rum is good. ;) I might need to try that, or if you did that, coconut oil might be good.

I *never* thought I'd drink my coffee unadulterated, but when I went cold turkey off sugar I switched to heavy cream only, and I can't even remember any more when or specifically why I cut that out. Every once in a while I'll use cream, but mostly it's black, or when I do add something I prefer butter, Tibetan-tea style. The better your coffee, the less it needs anything else in it! Although once or twice a year I like a bit of cinnamon, for some reason.

I use the coconut milk creamer from whole foods. It's probably not 100% paleo because it has some added "stuff" for thickeners but it works well. canned coconut milk would be yummy too I'm sure!

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

Don't drink much coffee any more but when I do I use half 'n half or cream. Nothing else in my mind really smooths out coffee like the real thing.

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

I love the SO coconut milk in coffee. Its thick and creamy and I'd love it more if it tasted more like coconut. ;)

If I used it for coffee it would be the canned- haven't seen other products in our stores here. Definitely not the "lite" version, BTW.

I wondered about coconut milk. Unfortunately there is no place around here that carries the coconut creamer....lots of soy products though emoticon

Another question, when you say coconut milk are you talking about canned coconut milk or SO brand?

Black! Never thought of the coconut milk - but I LOVE the richness of the coffee flavor, so I'd probably still favor it black!

Mine is black as well. I never really used much cream, but it still has cut down on the amount of coffee I drink.

Lots of folks here use coconut milk. Me- totally black, don't want to dilute the caffeine :-).

I have a serious 1/2 &1/2 habit! I use close to a cup in my coffee everyday. That includes any coffee I might drink in the evening. I want to phase out most dairy so I'm looking for something I might like as well the 1/2 & 1/2 (once I get used to it!) lol
