Something worth looking into for me...I hate ST! Have a hard time motivating myself to do it. And am quickly tiring of my gym routine! Haven't gone in a week! But you bet my a$$ was out there running in the nice weather we have been having! I like HIIT for the dreadmill...I might like it for ST also.

Ah! You don't need a gym to do tabata. You can interchange any type of exercises for a tabata workout. You can do cardio, or body weight exercise. You can use dumbells or resistance bands... to me a tabata workout is especvially suited for when you are travelling and are short of time AND equipment. All you need is a clock. If you don`t have a clock, you can just count. lol
Living in a small town, there are no fitness gyms - I have seen crossfit gym videos and was amazed at the intensity of the workout. Thanks for the mention of the Tabata workout - watched a couple examples on madefittv.com and YouTube.
Wow! I like the idea, and can see how I can interchange it with movements I am strong enough (at this stage) in doing!

I've been researching this intense interval training form of exercise, and decided to give it a try before my regular workout this morning. After 4 minutes of it, my thoughts were if this doesn't knock the excess fat off my booty, then nothing will. LOL I have been doing some strenuous hikes, dumbbells, kettle bells, walk/runs- so I have built some strength and endurance which I feel has helped prepare me for starting a Tabata routine. I also like Tabata as the sprinting part of a Paleo/primal lifestyle because I can't see myself running across a field like I'm being chased by a grizzly! Any insights, advice, links, etc. will be greatly appreciated since I am a newbie.
