I would love to see the Northern Lights. We're just a bit too far south in Washington State. Not that the clouds ever clear long enough. I've got a really great telescope. Problem is getting a clear night that is not a work night, and is not so cold your fingers don't work. By the way, I've eaten squirrel...tastes like chicken!

Thanks SO MUCH for sharing the Northern Lights picture. I love the Northern Lights!! Was able to see them in all their dancing glory, just once in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan...but still nothing like your shot.

I was watching the Planet Green channel on Saturday night and tuned in to about 3 hours of Alaska program! One was "Extreme Alaska"...one was on all the moose crashes on the highways, etc.

Such a beautiful, beautiful state. I would love to visit one day.

Have you lived there all your life?

Thanks for sharing!

In Alaska it gets pretty cloudy too. Although the past few nights have been clear enough to see the Nothern Lights.

The problem with clear skies here is it means cold weather, so the temps have dipped below zero again. I will be happy when it warms up and the snow emlts away so I can go outside for my exercise again.

Luv to Run, I understand your pain. I live in Michigan. Not only do we have the worst economy in the nation, currently, but we have this pervasive cloud cover that blankets our state (Great Lakes weather effect) for months on end. You should see us....WE all blast out of our houses like squirrels if there is even a "pocket" of infrequent sunshine! A whole day and we go nuts.

But I can say, living in the grey, cold winter skies of the north, we really appreciate Spring. It is amazing once spring comes. The flowers pop out, you can shed the ski mask. The earth smells sweet as new life begins to spring forth. Aaahh. Counting the days.

Yesterday, hubby and I went out for an hour long hike in a local wooded area, but the snow was so deep we were forced onto the road (no traffic). 20 min. into our "wog" (walk/run) it began to snow/sleet fast and hard. We both had snow clumps on our eye lashes/eyebrows. Man, were we glad to get back to the truck!!!!

Hang in there and just do the best you can. Go grab a squirrel by the tail and roast him on a spit in the fireplace! ha ha

We're all just limping through these last miserable couple of months of winter.

Good luck!

GG

Ok, the squirrel has spoken. More than once I see. I have never had, but hear, squirrel is yummy. It has to be a squirrel, and I want my mittens!

The ground hog came out, froze to death and now winter is forever! - This is what my running friends around here say. It's been VERY cold and we are all a bit discouraged at our lack of miles. :(

Dotslady (Paleo buddy of mine) was kind enough to point out to me that when someone comments on our blog page, we are to respond to their comment on THEIR page not on our own...that's all. She shared with me that she sees this all the time in newbies. She wondered how long it would go on before someone brought it to my attention, so I am very glad she did!!

I've had so many people reach out to me with encouragement and kindness and here all along they probably never saw my "thank you's" or returned encouragement because I kept responding in the wrong place.

With my message to you here, I hit the backspace key and thought....wait a minute...did I send that already? Did it fly? So hence, two times.

Live and learn. LOTS to learn!

I have no idea about the comments thing.

I have been known to quilt, sew (other than quilts), bead, weave, and knit. I also dabble in other art forms.

I think computers teach us impatience. I work hard every day to reverse the trend ... do not clickie the button thingie twice (or heaven forbid three times!).

Okay, so Pammie...

Our wonderful Dots Lady has been coaching me. I had NO CLUE what I was doing (perhaps you do!!)

I guess when we blog and someone comments, then the thing to do is to respond to their comment on THEIR page. I am a Gmailer, so this flies in the face of keeping conversations together in my email world! But I am a teachable Grokker!

I am assuming, if it's a forum, then our back and forth dialog here is okay.

I love to learn, so I'll take all the help I can get...big and small!

Girl, I don't even knit (I quilt) and when I saw that Ground Hog, I knew I needed a new profile pic for February! lol

Running to the Library. I've had "The Paleo Diet" on hold for like FOREVER and it's IN!

Have a great weekend :)

GG

You know I have absolutely no attention span - I was just making wrong comments in places.

Or something.

And I think it's a squirrel disguised as a ground hog.

For cryin' out loud ladies....IT'S A GROUND HOG!!! "She" is returning to her hole to finish knitting her sweater before Spring :)

Now...I hear squirrel is quite tasty, so you guys just GO FOR IT and let the rest of us know how yummy it is and we will take your word for it!

This is how they suck you into complacency. Too cute for world domination? Too loving? Ha! Think again!

This is a paleo board. Someone here must think squirrel stew is yummy.

Is that a squirrel knitting? As a knitter I'm aghast! I thought we were safe from infiltration! It's just another step toward squirrel world domination. emoticon

I think I have been entering some of my comments in the wrong places and may have missed directly addressing so much kind and encouraging feedback!!

If/when you get to my blog page and can scroll back/forth, my comments have been left there instead of going to YOUR page and leaving my remarks to your feedback.

Sorry about that...just know how much I appreciate you all!!
