My diet before was relatively carb-light so I didn't really have a bunch of water weight to drop, but I did notice that I started retaining a lot less water after about a week and went down a pant size (although the scale said it was only a 0.7 lb loss).
I'm guessing the bloating came from eating grains.
I lost 4 lbs my first week (week 2 starts today) and that's with a lot of traveling and eating in restaurants. I am so thrilled! Particularly since this is after over a year of following conventional wisdom and gaining back a ton of weight, then losing a few pounds and immediately plateauing, seemingly forever. I couldn't be happier.

I lost 6 pounds in the first week, but expect things to slow down to about 2 pounds a week. I think the initial number all depends on how much crud was in your system to begin with. Just stick with it, you WILL see results!
I'm down about 5 - 7 lbs in the past two weeks. The results come very fast. I think I'd be down even more, but I've stuck with the conventional wisdom that it's good to cheat every now and then for sanity's sake. However, every cheat meal (2 so far) has made me feel bloated and cruddy. I don't think I'm going to have a cheat meal this week.
The results come VERY quickly, but a lot of people say you really start to see the benefits of eating Paleo after 4 - 6 weeks of sticking to it strictly.
I have only been doing paleo since the the second week of Jan and I have lost 8 pounds. I have also been doing crossfit and running. And I took last week off of strict paleo for my birthday and some family functions. :)
