Better cheat foods than me Meghan- I scarfed some rhubarb/strawberry pie this weekend. Sugar, wheat and heaven only knows what else- getting back to salad and protein has never felt so good!...MJ

Mine is sushi. I don't think I even eat it once a week, but when I have sushi, I love the rice part so much I can't even just order sashimi.

I also like breaded foods - a couple of times I ordered salad for lunch that said it came with grilled and it was fried, I wasn't THAT disappointed.

I definitely do dairy - but its at those time I realize I'm more primal than paleo.

I know . . . it's not good. But I love mexican food and can't give it up . . . I figure once every couple weeks isn't gonna kill me. Last time I only ate one corn tortilla . . . not too bad. ;)

I order a carne asada plate (they just serve it like a big steak. So if you want to put it in the tortillas you can, but I just eat most of mine without a tortilla.

From what I read about corn you might be better to stick to rice or better yet give up on tortillas completely- neither one is good...MJ

ha ha . . . my thoughts too with the beer.

I've been okay with Mexican food here. I live in San Diego. I just can't eat too much and I stick with corn tortillas. (I don't eat any rice)

I'm actually having some real trouble with cheating. So far, I've tried pizza and cookies, and both give me some HARDCORE gastro issues. I think I'm going to start cheating with Paleo-esque foods, like going to a restaurant and having a steak with the sauce/glaze that it usually comes with.

Other than that, I cheat with a really good beer. Thankfully, that doesn't cause too many issues (in moderation, of course).

ha ha . . . does beer fall into this category. I don't drink a lot, but I like to have a beer a couple times a week.

I also like chocolate!

Cheese and Greek yogurt...I've cut out much of my regular cheese and sour cream--and atleast LOVE goat cheese and the greek yogurt which isn't as bad. I keep it to a minimum.

I don't know if I call the above CHEATING. Now, when I really cheat...it is when I hit the Mexican restaurant and split two baskets of chips, salsa and dippy cheese. Thank goodness that is down to once a month vs the every other week.

Oh, the chocolate chunk cookies! I can eat a whole box. And have been known to do so. I dunno, I find that if I let myself have chocolate, I find myself on the hunt for my next fix, like a complete addict. But like I said, I'm pretty all-or-nothing. So for now, trying to stick with nothing!

Mine are chocolate and cheese. I might even give up the paleo diet for the chocolate / cheese diet.

I moved to dark chocolate which is a step up no?

I don't really have any desire to include grains in my diet, so I usually don't cheat. I'm even surprised that, having cut out dairy products again, I really don't miss them that much. But when I do cheat, it's bad. My favorite is the cheap Mexican restaurant down the street. We ALWAYS get tortillas with queso, and then I'll get a quesadilla, a fajita, or cheese-stuffed chili rellenos. Yeah, it's bad. Call it my cheese-and-carb fix for a month.

Dairy is my cheat food. I try to have it only once every couple of days but I used to be vegetarian so I am having a hard time eating meat again. I am eating some fish and free range chicken but when I feel as though it isn't enough protein, I'll throw in some dairy.

If I'm feeling really bad....I'll put light whipped cream on fruit for a dessert!

Most of us here allow a few cheat meals or at least some cheat foods each week. I am curious to know what you folks include. Mine are wild rice and quinoa no more than once a week, sweet potato very rarely, feta and cheddar cheese one or two times a week and a serving of plain regular fat yogurt daily.
