thanks wonderwoman...i just ordered some CWX stabilyx ventilator tri-shorts. i read the reviews and people said they were worth the money but you can never tell. can't wait to get them and try them. i've been struggling with quad muscle strain for a while now.

i went to the shoe store for an analysis of my feet and they put me in neutral running shoes with a 10 mm toe drop. it did wonders for my feet and calves. I have orthodics and was trying to use them in stability shoes and it didn't work well. i am now using Brookes Dyad 7's or NB 1080's...it is amazing what a shoe can do. make sure you get your feet and gait analyzed by someone. top quality sports stores should be able to do it for you.

So, I finally went to a running store to know my gait and I purchased Brooks Adrenaline GTS 12. So far, they feel comfortable to me. We'll see how it goes

Love my Mizuno running gloves. They are lightweight and moisture-wicking, but supposedly have some technology where they become warmer when you sweat.

Saucony just moved WAY up on my list of faves. Been wearing Asics Gel Kayano's since I started running two + years ago. They were feeling very heavy though and I was starting to kick the insides of my ankles. The Saucony Progrid Omni 11 are AWESOME! Two and a half ounces lighter than my Kayanos (each) and on video, my running shows great improvement already! This morning was my second time wearing them and did great on my 5K!

Some updates: I finally got some compression long-sleeve shirts from UA and I am very excited to receive them. I don't leave close to a Walmart /Sam's club so I just ordered online. Now, I am looking for a running store where I can get fitted for new shoes because those I have a super old. (you can tell by the sole...lol)

Thanks very much for all the suggestions. I have my first 10K on October 7, 2012 and the max I can run right now is 8 miles. I am really excited of maturing up as a runner and be able to run longer distances

I swear by my CWX Stabilyx tights (both 3/4 and full length) for longer runs (for me that is anything over 8 miles). They are very, very tight fitting, but therefore provide a wonderful amount of compression in just the right places. Makes an amazing difference both during and post-run. They are very pricey though. A good (Moving Comfort) bra is my second must have. I hate the sports bras that you have to pull over your head and end up literally stuck in post-run, so always pick one which closes either in back or front.

Although I like the quality, I am short and UA just doesn't work for me. Everything (tops, tights, etc.) are quite long. Only time I can use UA is if I buy youth sizes.

Everyone I talk to says UnderArmor is the way to go.....it IS pricey though. I have some cuddle duds (wal-mart and Sams) that seem to work pretty well. Just a couple layers of something wicking and for socks, most people say smart wool, but I have been buying Yaktrax Outdoor Cabin Socks and I LOVE them!

I don't really have a favorite running gear. Can someone help me with buying winter running clothes. I want to do more outdoor running this winter.

I love my running skirt from Lucy! I recently got a pair of shorts from Lulumon (sp?) and really like those too.

Gearing up for the colder weather, nothing beats my tech shirts to layer. I live by an UA outlet so get them dirt cheap! Will be starting to move running wardrobe to riding wardrobe as well as I'll be riding more this winter outside...instructor is nuts..

I'm not too particular about brand - moisture wicking is important and I don't care too much for loose fitting (especially on top) - still learning though as I have never been too much of an outdoors runner in the winter....that's my goal for this season. The only thing I am very particular about are my shoes....Asics - gel Kayano's (although my bonus for work is a gift card for nike, so, I'm gonna give them a shot, but I don't hold out much hope).
