Sounds like several good runs coming for team mates. I'm doing a 5k this Sat. morning in Galesburg, IL. It's part of their railroad days activities. The rest of the day should be a fun day with DH.

Good luck to everyone on your runs. I'm rooting for you! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Here on LOng Island...my sister and I are running the Summer Run Series, which are a set of four 5 miles or 10Ks at state parks. The runs are usually on the water, Monday evenings with a 7 pm start time. Ran one last week and have another tomorrow night.

Conquering instead of crumbling!

Start training again on Monday, feeling the "itch" to run.
Signed up for 3 runs in August - not sure how that happened 5K, 10K, 8mi. :0) emoticon
SO here's to consistent training! emoticon

July 4th - Four for the Fourth in Yorktown, IN. As the name suggests, it's a 4-mile race. Ran it last year and it's a nice course, relatively flat, and a well-organized race.
I'm really excited for my August race - the Indianapolis Colts' Back to Football 5K in downtown Indy. Ran it last year and it was a great experience!

Oh, take care of that knee! Don't reinjure yourself!

So I had to miss the Spartan Sprint and Super in January when I first injured myself and I just received an email that the Sprint is coming back to SoCal in the fall and I'm debating signing up for it. I've been out of commission for 3 months and missed 5 races from this injury. I'm hesitant to sign up for anything else!

The 5k is in June and the 10k is July. I have always wanted to do a mud run but now I am nervous especially as my knee is aching tonight after a gentle run on grass with my friend who is just starting to run. I have been doing a series of strength workouts with Micoach and I found the lunges (all of which have added elements) particularly hard on my knees. I sprained my right knee in November, it was January before I was able to get back to a 3 runs a week. So tonight I have the ice and ibuleve gel out the cupboard again. I will have to get the knee brace out again for my next run.

Just do the next right Thing.
Get on the bus.

So I just noticed that I have a HM in less than a month and I'm still healing from a running injury. My longest run in the last 6 weeks has been 2 miles. This is not looking good.....

I'm actually on an advanced prep schedule, designed to help me increase speed, so I'm running 12 the week before the race. When I did beginners prep my longest run I think was 10.

The only way to train for hills is to run hills. Lots of them. Different distances and inclines. Just be careful running down because it's ridiculously easy to injure yourself running downhill.

My next race is a half also and with lots of hills. I'm counting on the scenery to pull me through. This is supposed to be one of the most gorgeous runs in the contiguous US!

SO SCARED! I have a great friend who I trained with last year, and she wants to do this half marathon we did. It was an absolute miserable time for me and I can't decide if I'm going to run it this year. The problem was the hilliness (?) of it. My tracker said I did 13.1 miles and 88 flights of stairs-worth of elevation. Any suggestions on how to train for that bad boy? Just go uphill when I'm training?

Running started off as a mixture of goals and fun for me. I keep it mostly about fun but make a point to work on goals occasionally too.

A race around your birthday every year, what a nice tradition!

The 8K I did last Saturday was tough...it was raining and very cold.

My next race is a 10K on December 1.

I've done several color runs and the powder does not affect your breathing at all. First of all, they throw it at your body, not your face. And you're also not running through it the whole time. The are really short color stations where you get the color. Tell your boyfriend to try it out. They're a lot of fun!

I'm registered for a 5K this Saturday. It's been humid and rainy here so I haven't actually run 5K in a long time, eeps!

AND geez, my monthly is a few days late (I'm not pregnant) and I'm worried day 1 will come on race day...and day 1 is usually crampy for me, not a day I feel like running 5K in the humidity! grrrrr

But I'm looking forward to it, one of my friends is volunteering at the race as a marshall.

I recently signed up to do a women's only race in Cleveland at the end of June. It's only 4 miles, but that will be my longest race distance, to date. I'm hoping to work up to 5 miles in the next few months, so I can do that distance at the Pro Football HOF enshrinement race in July. I did the 2-mile last year as my very first race, and greatly contributed to me wanting to race more!

wow! you people run a lot of races....
I try to do a big race in the spring and in the fall and then just a few 5k's in between. I just ran the Capital City Half Marathon in Columbus Ohio on May 4th. I have been struggling with injuries for the last couple of years and was finally doing better again. My goal was to run it in under 2.5 hours....I was able to run it in 2h and 25 min....I was so excited. That is an 11:08 minute mile. I am suppose to do a 5k this Saturday, but I think I should rest my leg...I can tell it is a little strained and I don't want to make it worse...especially since I am just now coming back.
I am thinking about doing the Biggest Loser half in Florida on Dec. 29 2013...haven't decided. it is quite a distance to travel from Ohio....

Looking forward to a 5k this Sunday supporting the Ronald McDonald House! Anxious to see what my time is since most of my running lately has been on the treadmill :)

I'm registered for my first race, a 5k on March 30th.
I plan to run in the local color run in June.
I also plan to do the Mud Run, but I'm not sure when that is yet, full summer I believe.

I am registered for Ras na hEireann U.S.A. 5K on Sunday.

Engergize the Earth 5k in April
a choice of 2, 5 milers in May depends on if I win the lottery for Harpoon 5 miler on May 19th

And I am 100% going to do a Half on 10/6 either in San Jose, CA or Hampton, NH depending on how possible it is for me to travel.
