Tracy -

I've had great luck with wright socks. http://www.wrightsock.com/

A friend recommended them, and I found them at REI for $8 or 9 per pair (which is expensive for socks, but so worth it.)

It sounds to me like you aren't allowing enough rest time between workouts for your legs to recover.

I've been running on the Treadmill and am also increasing my miles. I do strength training 2x/wk. My legs all ways fell sore, going up the stairs really wear them out. My question is what do people use to keep there legs from hurting and what do people have to say about Glutamine.
Any suggestions would help.

I'm sure my problem is the socks. I just got new shoes a month ago...went to the running store was fitted. I know it's not my shoes. I guess I better get back to the running store this afternoon and get some new socks!!!

Thanks everyone!

(this happened to me when i increased my mileage in the hot summer heat. urgh. i had to breakdown and buy the expensive moisture-wicking socks and start using bodyglide. no more cheap white gym socks for me.

it's trial and error finding the right socks for you - once you find them, you'll probably invest in a few extra pairs because you won't want to ever be without them. i've got quite the collection of socks that i tried that didn't work out. heh. i wear them to the gym.)

When I increased my mileage, I started having problems with blisters. I went to Runtex, the local specialty running store, and they put me in a shoe that was a half size larger than my street shoe and also had a wider toe box. That completely eliminated my blister problem.

When I get blisters, new skin is my best friend. It helps the blisters heal and usually allows me to be able to continue to run without causing more damage. I automatically put in on for any runs that I do that are over 10 miles. It almost always keeps me from blistering.

Best of luck and get some wicking socks!!!

Yikes - I am sure you will get lot of attention when you wear your flip flops to the grocery store. hehehe

for sure the issue must lie either with your sock or shoes.
