I ran in the Gobble Jog 5K on Thanksgiving. Well, really I walked it with my mother. We completed it in 52 minutes and it was a fun, active thing to do together. It was really nice out, much better than last year when it was the coldest Thanksgiving in GA in 100 years at 22 degrees. This year was a brisk 42, slightly overcast, great for a 5K. I was surprised by how many people were just taking it easy and walking the whole thing. We probably could have done it a little faster if the crowd had spread out more.

I recently ran my first HM in 2:34:56 - STOKED with that! I also made a new PR for my 10k last weekending, finishing at 55:38!

Congratulations to you all! I did a 4 mile "poultry precictor" on Thanksgiving. It was 26 degrees out and the cold air kicked my butt- actually my lungs- but I finished and had fun which was my main goal. I make running way too much work and not enough fun :)

Ran a race for my friend Chris who is running for the American Lung Assoc in next weekends ING NYC Marathon. His goal is to raise $5000. I got off course and it put me over my PR, but it was for him so it's ok!! He also ran 35 miles Saturday for his 35th birthday! He is stlll shy of his goal, but he has reached enough to earn his bib! Feel free to give a couple bucks to help him out!

Did my very first emoticon and color run this morning! I set a goal when I began training for 35 minutes. I finished my race today 34:20! My very first time training a few months ago I clocked in at 50 minutes. I'm so proud! Can't wait until my next run! I'm hooked!

I WALKED a 5K charity walk on Saturday with a small team of family members....none of them are sporty so it was a leisurely walk and we were pretty slow. But it was a beautiful day and the course was nice!

I ran my first ever race last Sunday. It was an all-female 6.7k in Paris, mostly flat. Since I caught my kid's cold I wasn't exactly at my best (44:20) but I mostly enjoyed it anyway. I signed up for a couple other short races before the weather gets to bad. Yay!

I completed another 5k on Saturday, it was a really nice scenic run along the Ohio river. I didn't PR, 31:18 which is still a good solid run for me. I'm really hoping for sub 30 at our next big group event on the 21st. I am debating on a run next Saturday which has a big down hill part, great opportunity to PR also good opportunity to get hurt. I'm such a wimp! Still training for the 1/2, today is a five mile run which I just mapped out, gonna be a breeze (building myself up, lol) Hope everyone is having great races and runs!

I did a 5K race today, but it was actually just over 6K! I didn't like that, I can run 6K but I need to pace myself with my Garmin, and not knowing the course was 1K longer really threw me off!

Yesterday I completed the Gladiator Rock n Run in SoCal. It was REALLY hilly! Most of the obstacles were towards the end and were a lot of fun and some challenge! Totally kicked butt and looking forward to seeing the pics posted on their site.

Last Saturday I completed the Dirty Girl Mud Run in Scranton! We were at Montage Mountain and a good number of the obstacles were spread out over the mountain- the last one was just coming down the side! The race wasn't timed but I figure we finished in about an hour and 50 minutes, which takes into consideration sections of the course where it's slow going due to being rocky or muddy (ha) plus having to wait for several of the obstacles due to the large number of runners. It was super fun and I'd definitely do another obstacle course run in the future!

Hi, I'm new to this team :) My 2013 races so far...I ran the Dirty Girl Mud Run in Tucson on March 2nd with my best lady friends for my birthday (best birthday ever!!!) and I ran my first 10K, Race for Heroes in 1:10:02 (5 minutes faster than my goal) on April 6th. My next planned race is the Utah Runner Girls Half Marathon on August 24th. I'm hoping to finish in 2 hours, so I've been prepping for my 15-week training plan with the Insanity 60-Day Challenge. I'm 35 days in and going strong.

Today, I will be running with friends and family to both honor the victims of Boston as well as to display an act of unity and solidarity in the running community.

Completed my 1st 5K since release from major surgery. Having only 3 weeks of training(since release), I was pleased with a time of 34:03 in Run for the Roses 5K(Athens, GA).

Completed the 5k winter series today - 5 races from Dec to Mar. Got a nice medal. Actually not very happy with my times but happy with the fact I did it and I have a nice start for the year. Plus something I hadn't thought about when I signed up but a friend said to me today. Focusing on doing one or two of these a month made the winter go faster - now it is almost spring. emoticon

I did the Dirty Girl 5k mud run in San Francisco this weekend. I don't know if there was an official time but we noticed we did it in about 40- 45 mins, Some of the obstacles were brutal, most just made us laugh a lot. There were a lot of people and a lot of waiting at each obstacle. It was a total fun run!!!

I ran in the St. James 5K Sunday Oct. 21st. My time was 29:42 which is a personal best for me. My goal was to beat my time from last year when I ran it and I succeeded by running 1:03 faster.

Hi Everyone I just completed my first HM on Sunday. I did Nike Women's Marathon in SF and I finished in 3:43. This even was about the memories and the experience for me. I was celebrating my 16th year Cancer Free. I'm pretty darned proud of myself!

I ran the Mount Desert Island Marathon today (Bar Harbor, Maine), as a long training run. My time was 4:59:11, which (to my surprise) put me first in my age group (60-64).

I've only been running for about six months now -- mostly on the treadmill -- but I ran my first competitive 5K last weekend (see link below). I got discouraged pretty early on (lost count of the number of people who passed me) but kept at it and ended up finishing in 30:48 (my best non-treadmill time ever!) and 4th in my division.

Ran my first full marathon yesterday. Had a couple of glitches...long wait at the bathroom wasted about 10 min. And the worst glitch was that I took a wrong turn and actually ran part of the course twice. I ended up running an extra 2 miles or so...that added about 20 min to my time and mentally really got to me. Overall, though, I'm really proud that I did it and might even do another one - a long time from now!

On Saturday I completed Air Force Half Marathon - my third HM in three weeks. What a great experience among a wonderful bunch of sparkers. I can't express how friendly, fun, supportive, and overall positive this group is! I'll be posting a blog sometime today. This past Saturday I completed my first Half Marathon! I came in at 2:28:55. It was such an amazing experience. I was able to reach my goal. I wanted to finish between 2:20 and 2:30.
I wonder if this will be a beginning of running more HMs!

I finished the Lehigh Valley Zoo Run Wild for Wildlife Conservation 5K this past Sunday in 30.58 minutes. New PR!! My mantra through the whole thing--"Run your own race. Don't worry about everyone else. Run your own race." And I did. I kept my legs moving and ran the whole thing. Next up--10K on Labor Day.

I was able to finish my virtual 5k in 45 minutes and some change. I know it isn't that fast, but I was able to jog more of it than I thought I could. I am aiming to improve my time the next time, jog more of it, etc. I enjoyed it.

Ran the Women's Distance Fesival 5K yesterday in 31:07. I was disappointed with my time. I really wanted to break 30 mins, but I just went out too fast and had nothing left in the tank. It was to celebrate women's running. The funny thing was, I was more intimidated to run with all women than I have felt when it was co-ed.

I signed up for a virtual 5k on my ifit live account. It will be my first 'race' in 4 years so we will see. This is just so I can kind of get a base time for my ability at this point. I can't even jog the whole thing but just to finish will be a good thing for me. My goal will be to improve my time after that.
I think there is a Susan G Komen 5k in November here. I would like to do that one but am wondering how crowded it will be.

I have to say, I was not crazy about the color run. It was quite expensive, was not for charity (someone's making a lot of money on a gimmicky concept), and there were so many walkers and strollers it was very congested. The "color" aspect of it was okay but not actually as fun as I thought it would be because the colors weren't very bright or lasting. Maybe you will have more fun--it was almost 100 degrees when I ran it, so that probably dampened my enthusiasm!

But I ran a torchlight 5k tonight that was SO FUN! it ran through downtown and there were lots of spectators and it was just a blast. I finished in 32:26, which is over 2 minutes faster than my last 5k. Yea!

Lost 65 pounds just in time for my 40th birthday. Now maintaining my weight loss, training for a half marathon and lifting weights seriously. Love my body and love my life. It was all worth it!
