This quote from that article stood out to me:
"Anna, who was laid off shortly after being diagnosed with Lyme disease, had decided to shift from referring to herself as an 'unemployed' person to talking about herself as 'an artist looking for a job to support her art work.'"
That mind shift is really quite significant. So much of folks' identities are wrapped up in their job titles that they seem to forget that they are still whatever their job titles were even if they don't have those particular jobs anymore. If they let a specific moment in their career define who they are as people, it will drag them down. However, if they choose to be defined by what field they have worked in/where they want to work, they will be viewed much more positively, not only by themselves, but by others, too.
