Actually, I think the point of striking out those phrases is that it is much more effective to briefly illustrate those skills and attitudes.
It's one thing to claim you have certain skills and attitudes but a much more effective means of conveying your skills and attitudes is to spell out a good example of a situation in which you put those skills and attitudes into practice.
Takes a little time and thought to come up with these illustrations, for sure, but your resume will certainly stand out from others once you do this!
