A number of my clients are hanging on by their fingernails and my heart goes out to all of you! This country needs to take lessons from Europe and Canada on how to treat its citizens with more humanity and caring...!

I like this article and it's last line: "we could actually prevent a future apocalypse if more of us just accepted reality and demanded the right kind of change here at home."

Have faith that God will provide for you. I'm a "99 weeker" and it doesn't look like I will be included in the extension. I don't know how the government thinks it's a good thing that thousands will no longer receive benefits. It seems pretty clear that if people have been on unemployment for an extended period of time that there just aren't jobs available everywhere.

JESPAH just sent me a message about the bill that President Obama signed. Here's my response:

Thanks, Janet! I checked out the CA Employment Development Department release on it. So, it sounds like they might file for the next extension (4th) for me. I'll be nervous until it comes in the mail. I think I have rent for this month, I should still do some bill paying and calculations to be sure.

I did a little math, it lasts 6 weeks so it looks like I might have benefits until mid-January if the final extension is filed for me. I'm still kinda freaking out. That's 1 month from today.

I woke up this morning to an answering machine message about a courier delivery (probably a notice from a collector), and Michael's mom got confirmation that the mass in her lung is a tumor so we're going to see her today. I'm feeling kind of numb, but trying to be grateful for my health, that I have a place to live today, and food to eat. I'm trying my best to hold on. Relief lately has been coming in the form of distraction, but that makes realizing how bad it is/could be even worse.
