Thanks - I did read it and it is a little motivating. Why should we set goals that may hinder our progress and make us feel bad when we are already dealing with other challenges? I actually picked out a dish I really like today - with very few calories. To keep on track, that's what I do. I eat a lot of veggies - more than I need and coat it, not smother it, with favorite sauces so I can taste the sauce but not have all this "juice" left over. So, lunch was about 3 cups of cooked, chopped broccoli, 3 tbsp. of nacho cheese sauce and and added 2 - 3 tbsp of salsa. I ate about 1/2 and I'm stuffed but it's under 200 calories total.
My favorite thing on the salad bar is the sliced cucumbers so I snack on them - cheaper than chips and much better for you. No dip needed. In short, I'm not really denying myself, just making better choices and still cutting expenses and calories. It's a little less work and frustration than looking at the whole picture.
