Thanks for the update. I can sympathize with Coach Dean. I've been there too.

Remember, nobody can go back to the very beginning and make a brand new start, but anyone can start here and make a brand new end.

There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results."

I have been looking for an update from him. I suffer from some of the same anxiety/depression issues and appreciated his openness about his struggles. He will be greatly missed. Coach Dean, we wish you all the best. Praying for a more peaceful and healthy you. emoticon

News from Coach Jen regarding Coach Dean and his ongoing health problems:

Hi Everyone!

Some of you have been asking about Coach Dean and how he's doing with his recovery from a lot of health problems he's had this past year. He's blogged about a lot of it, so I know it wouldn't bother him if I share an update about what's going on.

His health issues have persisted, so he and his doctors have decided that it would be best for him to stop working for now. He plans to blog and write articles from time to time as he can, but won't be on the Message Boards on a regular basis.

Coach Tanya (who has worked on BabyFit for a long time and has helped cover SP boards in the past) will be taking a more permanent role on SP and will also be helping me with Reports. So if you report a post/SparkPage/etc., you might get a response from Tanya or me.

We'll miss Dean very much, but he's promised not to disappear completely. At some point he also plans to blog about what's been going on with him in a little more detail.

Coach Jen

I am SO sorry to hear that his struggle continues! Coach Dean's writings and thoughts have added so much to SP! His story:

was one of my primary inspirations when I began SparkPeople. I SO felt his absence from the San Diego Convention as I had greatly anticipated meeting him! ...and I hope to do this YET! Sending all my healing thoughts and prayers his way! Post your thoughts here and / or perhaps stop by his SparkPage and share your thoughts:
