It's going to be a tough ride, no other way to slice it with the challenges that you're facing MAGGIESMOM. I like your plan to start working with your exercise DVD and walking your dogs! So much may be beyond your control, however fitness and healthy food choices are areas where you can exercise greater control...don't give up on these!
Also DO check out any / all resources in your area for the unemployed. Ask friends, family for as much information as possible. Do some online research. Often churches have charitable sources of food and clothing.
