I finally got a chance to gather some of the information together. Here are some websites that may offer new help:
Interview tips, resume and coverletter info and networking
www.bethelcollege.edu/services/career/jobs
earch/ www.iusb.edu/~sbcareer/network.shtml This one has an interview stream available for you also.
careercenter.nd.edu/ I went to a meeting today in Elkhart and they mainly stressed the importance of betworking, more specifically, LinkedIn and how most of the jobs these days are not posted but rather come from people you know. They mentioned making the 100 people list and starting with those.
Also, discussed the "elevator speech" where you have your "into speech" down in 10-15 seconds. Something that will introduce you to others, tell them what you are looking for, yet in a way that makes you stand out but not drag on. It must be short and to the point. The people that practiced there's seemed way too long and I felt I lost track of what they were saying after the initial, "My name is....,".
Everything happens for a reason!
