At least one other SparkMember and I are registered for the Thomas House Run4Homeless Children 5k and Walk-A-Thon on March 9, 2013 - it's for a great cause and a wonderful way to burn some calories, have fun and 'do good' at the same time! You do NOT have to run this race - you can walk it and be proud of yourself for doing so! My goal is to finish in less than 40 minutes so if you 'do the math,' you can see that's not very fast as far as runners go - but for an overweight old lady with a bad back and bad feet, I'll be thrilled if I can make that goal as my previous 'personal best' has been 43 minutes and 53 seconds so cutting that to 40 minutes would be an achievement for me. It's all relative and I'll be very proud of myself, no matter what my speed ends up!! Please join me so you can share in all of this!!
There is also a 'progressive marathon' option, which is really fun [for me anyway] - you complete 23.1 miles in any combination before the March 9 event, then complete the 5k and the total is the equivalent of a marathon so you get a medal for a Progressive Marathon!
