In today's world, I can see why she kept it a secret. She also admits that the food she cooks doesn't really need to be consumed on a daily basis. (I don't know how she eats on a daily basis--it isn't always how you eat that gives you diabetes--contributor yes)
It is generally about the money, but I still try (and like) to believe that not everyone is that way.

She eats terribly and she knows it. I guess she felt that her book sales would go down if people found out. It really isnt a surprise though that she has Diabetes, but I do feel it is her own business.
