Take it slow and focus on baby steps - it's hard to take BIG STEPS and try to do too much at once. We tend to reject any radical changes before too long but if you just do a little bit - maybe start with Greek Yogurt with Splenda and berries for breakfast instead of jumping into a kale and flax smoothie - that actually sounds pretty horrible to me and I don't think I'd like it one bit myself, even though I do eat pretty healthy most of the time! Baby steps are best - good luck!

Well I am trying to get all prepped before launch on the 11th.I blew the dust off my treadmill yesterday (its on a covered porch) .This morning my offspring and I tried our first kale and flax smoothie ;we both looked at each other and said"needs more banana", our taste for health still needs some fine tunning. I will try other things too.But my kidneys are a little sore and before I start hooping 3x a week (for 10 min) .I thought I should make sure my kidneys are in good shape. Thanks again guys

Thank you so much for the great ideas I really appreciate them .I think I will see what works out of these. I want healthy alternatives because I cant do diet foods for a million reasons. Happy New Year .I am getting all those road blocks out of the way that have tangled me up before (like healthy, non triggering breakfast) I will be starting full force January 11th

I like Fage Total 0 Greek yogurt for breakfast with berries mixed in - it works out to about 200 calories, loads of protein and holds me for hours!

Do you eat eggs? I like a whole egg, 2 egg whites and make an omelet with veggies. Good bread, I like Dave's seed bread.
There is no rule that says you can't have meat for breakfast, if you eat meat.
I switch up my breakfasts. But I try to have plenty of protein along with whole grains. I add flax, bee pollen and almond milk and have plenty of energy.
Maybe a healthy snack would help you make it till lunch time. Fresh apple w/ almond butter or Greek yogurt for example.
In Clean Eating the idea is to eat 5 or 6 small meals a day to keep the metabolism going and the hunger at bay.

I think my toughest meal is a healthy breakfast that does not trigger the day to go the wrong way. What are some healthy breakfast ideas everybody has.( Before this I would have oatmeal of granola ) But these do not include protein and sometimes the granola sweetness just seems to trigger my sweet tooth.

I agree - when we try to make big, sweeping radical changes, they just don't stick - when we make small changes, they become incorporated into our lifestyle to the point we don't even have to think about it any more. So pick one or two goals and do those until it starts to become part of what is 'normal' for you, then add another goal or two. The list previously posted is a great list - you might also want to check out the Fast Break program here on SparkPeople's Start page - good luck!!

I suggest:
Make one change at a time master that then add another.
1. drink your water
2. eat a healthy breakfast EVERY day
3. move your body 10 min. a day and add on minutes as you get stronger.
4. eat healthy power foods, get rid of processed junk
5. cut out white flour, white rice think brown.
6. watch sugar! change to stevia or pure maple syrup or honey. go natural.
eat plenty of fruits and fresh veggies.
This should get you started, hope it helps.
