UGH I would had being married to a public figure!!!! I much prefer being and unknown. Hoping you are rural enough so that people do not chew your ear hoping you can influence him to be swayed in their favor ... People can be so rude.
There is a Dr here with e same name as mine. I can not believe how many people would call thinking it was her private number and leave message for her .I thought it was so invasive .
I wish we were going to be in Santa Fe or Toas over the weekend Looks like there is more to do.We are off on Thursday and Friday though That is a no go. I would love to check out the farmers market.

Do you have some one to watch the fur kids? WE are trying out a new person so I am nervous and excited all at the same time.

Okay better get back out side and finish weeding the last piece of this fence. Hubby helped so I got way more done then I had anticipated YEAH!!!!

Hope the day up there is lovely It is sunny and HOT down here emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I can't imagine an ugly place to live in NM. All of it is inspiring in one way or another.

Chaco is supposed to be beautiful, awe inspiring and very spiritual. I would think it would affect people in various ways depending on their mindset when they visited. You will enjoy Acoma. I spent three days in Taos a couple of years ago--Bob was attending a conference for the Village. I took one of the dogs and just hung out at the plaza and surrounding areas sipping coffee, reading and people watching. That was before the knee surgery, so wasn't moving around much, but I had so much fun just relaxing.

Bob is at another conference today and tomorrow in Santa Fe (I really do not enjoy being the mayor's wife!) and someone has to mind the motel. dangnabit. We are going to my granddaughter's wedding toward the end of June and I know what you mean about finding people to watch the critters. I will take the two little ones with us, but must find a motel sitter and a dog sitter for that weekend.

Everyone enjoy your day.

All of the places up there looks so gorgeous. I need more time away :) We are trying a new person with the critters. It is hard to find someone. SO want to make it a short trip. Hubby has an appointment in Albuquerque so we though we try 2 nights away from home.

He wants to go to Acoma I would really like to see the churches in Chimayo and Toas . Have always wanted to go to Chaco Canyon. An old Pueblo women I used to do caregiving for told me to get out of the canyon before dark .That it was a bad place and it was haunted.Of course that intrigues me more but I do not want to sleep there.LOL

My old room mate was from Lansing ,MI .God people must come from there :)
I love the desert. I hope I never have to leave here. I do miss take out sometimes .But I never miss the over populated areas and noise..
Okay break time is over. I am transplanting my sweet potato slips. They never seem to multiply into new potatoes for me . HOWEVER they are gorgeous green vines :) I just put them in pots
Have a great day

We had been in NM for a year, when we took the train from ABQ to Lansing, MI to visit our families. I swear to God, by the time we got to the midwest the trees were brushing the sides of the train. I was so claustrophobic by the time we arrived I didn't know how to act. Was really glad to get back to the wide open spaces. Even here in the valley is a little confined, but I get to visit the wide open a couple of times a week.

Chaco is about an hour and a half from here and we get lots of people staying here before the trip or after. Apparently the road can be daunting, but the canyon is beautiful. I am ashamed to say we haven't visited! You might want to check out the Valles Caldera National Preserve--it just became a National Park. Gorgeous place with hiking, car trips, fishing and van tours. And of course Bandelier is just up the road from there and has wonderful old native ruins.

Enjoy your day all!

NM is amazing! I was shocked at how much life was in the desert the first time I walked in it. You can't see it just driving by . I love the openness. I was overwhelmed by that when I first got out here. A sweet little lady told me not to worry my eyes would stretch. She was so right. I am claustrophobic now when I go back east . I really hate not being able to see.

I had another fairly productive day today :) I love when I accomplish something.
I was checking out Chaco Canyon on line. We are going to go up to Acoma in June and I was seeing what else is up there . Thinking Chaco might be out because of the car we are going to take .

Hope your day was a great one too.

It sounds like you had a GREAT day Arlene! I am always amazed at the beauty all around us here in NM. From the wide open desert spaces with their amazing sunrises and sunsets to the closed in valleys with their rivers and green grasses and trees!

The gardens here are jumping too. No veggies for me, but the flowers are sure doing well. I overdid in the garden yesterday and am tired and sore today--but I did get a bunch of weeding done here at home. And hauled mulch. NOW I do have to stay inside and really catch up on the housework!

Hope your weekend is going as planned and enjoy your day all!

I have been mostly lazy for the past two days ;) Yesterday hubby and I worked about around the house then we took the dogs for a hike and a picnic.
This morning after work I drove back out to Ruidoso and met my friend from there we headed out to the Iris farm and I had another picnic. I am glad to report we ate fairly healthy foods both days.
It is so nice to sit chatting surrounded by all the beauty that is at the Hondo Iris farm
I think tomorrow I am going to have to swing my but into gear and get some things down around the house and maybe pulled some grass that is sprouting up in the veggies garden. The squash are starting to grow on the plants :) :) :) emoticon Lots of little tomatoes too .Eggplant are getting flowers I just love this time of year .
Hope Tipsy beats her itchiness soon. I have got to give my dogs a bath and blow them out :/ It is a project but they look so much cuter when it is done. Perhaps on Monday emoticon

I spent yesterday in the garden at the motel finishing the planting. Now just have to keep it weed free and watered. The rain has sure been helping with the last part! I don't remember a wetter or cooler year for May! It looks like we are even going to have a fireworks program for the Fourth in the village! We haven't had a fireworks display since 2008!

Tipsy is doing better--still itchy, but not as bad as she was. Hopefully we can get rid of this.

Today is a housework kind of day--catch up to get done, and dinner with friends.

Enjoy your day and weekend.

It is so much fun to work with a dog that works back. I think my tri colored corgi would have been a great participant if he had a good fur mom like you.
How is Tipsy doing with her food? Do you think the goat meat is helping her out her allergies ?
Antibiotics wreck a lot of things. I bet she will get her abilities back.

I spent most of the day in the house. Really wanted to vacuum and wash the floors. Have worked the last two days in the yard figures I had better spend a bite of time inside LOL SIGH emoticon

My youngest granddaughter had a kindergarten end of school concert so we went to that and then ran to do shopping while in town. I am beat emoticon
Thankfully I am off tomorrow !

I did enjoy training yesterday--Tipsy is going to be phenomenal! She really works hard to get it right. I am so excited to start competing with her. Maybe over labor day weekend. Unfortunately she has lost her ability to pick out the correct article. Evi says it is because she has been on antibiotics and it affects the scent, but will come back. I did not know that!

It is a beautiful day--still a tad cool, but blue skies and sunshine--who could ask for more? Will work in the garden today and finish laundry.

Enjoy your day all!

I only have two grand daughter close by. It is nice to see them when timing works out. We work weekends so school gets in the way. Summer it is a bit easier but they enjoy friends more and more each year as they get older.

I have been pulling so sort of wild flowers/weeds that have conquered the yard. I think my neighbor said they are called hookers slippers or purses. They are sticky and attach their leaves to your clothing :/ The goats do not eat them so I am pulling them out and taking them to the burn pile. They showed up last year UGH!!! Always something blowing through down here.
The storms must have been beautiful. As long as their is no hail I am good. The hail in this state is epic.
Heading out to the yard for a bit . Have fun with your dog training :)

I've always said that grandkids were the prize and blessing for putting up with kids! Mine are mostly grown and on their own except for one that I get to see only rarely--but sure enjoy when I do!

I am also a bit fanatical about food, and know I drive friends and family crazy.

What wonderful rain we have gotten over the past few days! We had thunderstorm after thunderstorm roll through the valley last night! It is an amazing experience with the thunder reverberating up and down the valley.

Today is dog training and I am looking forward to it.

The iris have been lovely this year. Thursday I will get the last of the plants for the motel and get them planted this weekend. THEN I just have to keep them weeded--a major chore since this garden has been neglected for 10 years or so.

Enjoy the day!

I really got nuts about food and food additives when I had my second child. I am sure I caused a lot of grey hair in those around me. It took me hours to shop.I swear my oldest son is a total wacko from listening to all of my conspiracy theories .(which by the way have panned out )

Sounds like your gardening went well today. I worked for a bit in the veggie garden ,them polished our boots hahahaha strange activity right.
Am going back to the iris farm with a girl friend for lunch on Saturday. I might pick up another iris there if they have a potted one I like ;)
Then my daughter in law and the grand girlies came for dinner. We painted some rocks after dinner. It was a great day :) emoticon

Amen Sister! I have learned so much this past five months about nutrition and healthy eating habits. I was always fairly knowledgeable about what to eat, but now have fine tuned and fine tuned some more. I really don't try to impose my eating habits on others--I really do believe each person has to make her own decision about their health, but I do try to pass on what I am learning.

I finished the planting at the motel and got some more weeding done--YAY rain! The plants all look so happy. Now I need another dozen or so to fill in! Work is never done.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Knowledge is wasted if it is not shared. I think people get tired of hearing my rants on fast food. HAHAHA I am insane when it comes to food . Just wish I could afford fresh everything .Our shopping options are limited without a road trip . I am sure you understand.I think people should work to be their very best and to take care of their bodies. They have to last our lifetime. We owe ourselves sound nutrition at a minimum .
I am enjoying our conversations as well. :)

You are welcome! I have really enjoyed all the reading and research--my friends here not so much, because I like to share all my new knowledge. I have stopped talking about what I am learning--I think they are beginning to avoid me! (GRIN)

These are a few of the books I've read over the past five months:
David Perlmutter
Grain Brain
Brain Maker
Sam Feltham
Slimology
Jenny Ruhl
Diet 101
Stephen Phinney and Jeff Volek
The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living
Gary Taubes
Why we Get Fat
Good Calories, Bad Calories
Nina Teicholz
The Big Fat Surprise
Robert Lustig
Fat Chance
Andreas Eenfeldt
Low Carb, High Fat Food Revolution
Denise Minger
Death by Food Pyramid
William Davis
Wheat Belly
John McLean
Low Carb Revolution
I think I would recommend one of the Taubes' books to start. Why we get fat is the easier one to read--sort of a synopsis of Good Calories Bad Calories.

I forgot to mention before. I feel so much better when I do not eat bread, cookies ,cakes things of that nature????? Anything like that makes me feel so bloated and tired.Like it sucks the life out of me. Have you read anything about that. I wonder if it just messes up your blood sugar. I mostly eat fresh vegetables ,fruits, fish and a few meats.

oooh--I love Cloudcroft! There used to be a couple of dog agility trials there around the 4th of July--not the BEST altitude for running, but it sure was a beautiful place to be! Enjoy! Today I am actually going back into town for a bit of blackjack with a couple of friends. We usually play once or twice a year, but it has been almost two years since I played. We will have fun! (and lunch!)

The motel garden is looking good and the little shower we got this morning will help. Bob got the rest of my holes dug, and I will finish planting tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

These guys are not big either. It was easier to bath the rottweilers though . I think because of their size it was less bending. I would love a proper tub and a grooming table. .Dreamer here. LOL I blow dry them with a shop vac. It works but it is a process. Bisbee has such a gorgeous thick coat.
Sounds like you had a busy week.
We got good rain here. Not sure how much bu tit rained off and on all Tuesday night into Wednesday. Had to feed the goats in their shed They are convinced they will melt if they get wet .. Such silly critters.
I was able to get my work room cleaned which is a project because it has M&M character dispensers and figures in it and they were coated with dust .
Got the iris in the ground on Tuesday .
Yesterday we finally got the part on the Challenger fixed that it was recalled for nearly a year ago .
Today is a relaxation day. I think we are going to pack a picnic and head up to cloud croft for a hike with the corgi boyz Got a bit of rain last night and it is looking a little grey this morning so not positive
Have a great day .

I have been missing in action--I've had to be in ABQ every day this week and am about exhausted.

I do know what you mean about bathing the dogs! Mine are not big. I am having to bathe Tipsy at least once a week for the yeast and it is a major undertaking that consumes a huge amount of time! And she weighs 8.6 pounds soaking wet--AND she has a slick coat. I feel your pain!

I'm on a low carb diet. Was diagnosed with pre-diabetes in December and the doctor practically yelled at me to get rid of the carbs. I have and feel good and have lost some weight.

We ended up with about .6" of rain. It was cool and cloudy all day today and I planted a bunch of things in the motel garden--worked for about three hours and then Bob dug some more holes and I will finish planting tomorrow or Saturday. It looks pretty decent.

Hope everyone has enjoyed their day.

No rain here yet either. I also enjoy the garden more :) I got my iris's in the ground and got my tomato plants tied up. I can't believe all the tomatoes on the plants already.
Have to go prune the dead cane off a shrub I over looked. Every year I think it is dead for sure but it comes back from the ground .
Have a great doggie week. My boys are on the chores list for a good brushing. What they really need is a bath. That is an all day commitment.

I keep meaning to ask what diet you follow. I can't remember if you mentioned it before or not. I make potato salad once or twice a year . It is a huge treat! I only make a small amount because it is just the 2 of us.

No rain yet today, and it was forecast big time.

Today is dog training and it will be interesting to see how well we do. Haven't practiced this week.

Everyone enjoy your day!

It was gorgeous out! Still a bit chilly, but it made for pleasant working in the garden conditions. Still need to get busy on laundry--but really enjoy working in the garden more.

I figure if need be I can get goat in NM easier than some of the other animals--I just didn't have time to find a place that could grind the whole goat. (sorry--I should have started with an R rating!) Tipsy is apparently allergic to spring. She got a staph infection with a yeast overgrowth. She was doing pretty well--healing nicely, when the truck with their food didn't arrive on time. I got some cheap hamburger to tide me over and didn't realize they had SOY FLOUR added. I feed raw to avoid grains and it never occurred to me that classic burgers would have soy. She is already less itchy, but will go through with the elimination diet--the goat should be here Wed or Thurs.

Hope everyone enjoyed their day!

Today it is so beautiful. I pulled some weeds and tossed them to the goats after work.My goats will eat trees too if they get out of their pens.. Naughty critters LOL I am doing a bit of laundry and changing the sheets on the bed.
As soon as I finish up with this I am going to see about getting a spot ready to plant the iris's
Aww... your poor pup. Bisbee has trouble on and off with yeast in his ears.
My husbands boss packs meat. He does all sorts. I wonder if you contacted local packer up there if he could do it for you. Maybe give you a lead to a local goat breeder?Cabrito seems to be plentiful down here.check out the 4-H too. They may also have leads on rabbits. That seems to be mostly the type of goats the kids handle down here . Hope it will work for your pup. I worked as a vet tech for a while allergies are the pits for critters and their owners
Okay back to work with me
Have a great day

What time should I be there for dinner--I do love potato salad. I just don't eat it any more. Ah well--I love what I do eat.

The wind is pretty bad here today too. Of course it is spring in NM! We used up the last of the firewood on a fire this morning--can't ever remember a fire this late in the season before now!

Today is an inside kind of day, catching up on laundry and house work. Back in the garden on Monday for a while.

Hearing about the goats makes me fondly remember mine. For eight years they were a big part of my life--though they were just as likely to eat the fruit trees as the weeds!

One of my dogs is having trouble with itchiness and a yeast overgrowth. The vet wants her on an allergy diet to see if it is allergy related. I feed raw and decided on goat as a novel protein for her. She has never had it. Found a place in PA that will grind and ship what I need for the twelve weeks. I figure I can probably find goat locally if it works. Rabbit or llama, not likely!

Enjoy your day everyone!

Ps. I used to feed the hummers until a good friend had a bear sitting on her deck, drinking from the feeder like it was a bottle of coke. I decided that bear/tourists were not a good combination!

Sounds like you had another good day. The wind was vicious yesterday Thankfully we did not get any snow .I wanted to do more outside as well but finally gave up and just read my book for a while LOL And you are right it does not feel like May .
Today I pulled so weeds to give to the goats and washed windows. I can see out much better now. He He it will probably rain now for sure.
I need to go fill bird feeders and clean humming bird feeders and finish making potato salad for dinner, then I will take a break for a bit.

The iris farm sounds wonderful. We've got some great iris at the motel and they are blooming, but the wind is really giving them a beating yesterday and today. Today has been snow! squalls alternating with sunshine. Most of my gardening today consisted of taking off and putting on my jacket--though I didn't need to put on sunscreen lotion. It is cold out there. Sure doesn't seem like May!

Getting a haircut this afternoon, then dinner with friends and one of the sons tonight and then BED. I am worn out, but really glad to be working again.

Enjoy your day folks!

Sounds like a wonderful day. Your motel sounds very cool. I like quirky :)
We totally took the day off. We went for a short walk in the morning and released one of our invading squirrels on the BLM land at the end of the road. He seemed very happy to be out of the trap.
We went to the Hondo Iris farm for a picnic. The place is stunning this time of year. While there we purchased 2 plants for out garden. On the way there and back we stopped at a couple of thrift stores and indoor flea market type places. It was a great day :)
Today back to work and the regular grind. Just washed the floors no I am heading out in the wind to plant some things :) emoticon

Yesterday was a gardening day--and I am a bit red on the arms! Worked at the motel garden for over 5 hours. I had a helper for most of that and it was nice to be able to say do this and do that! He comes back today to take things to the dump. This place has been so neglected for so long. We concentrated on getting the rooms to a decent state, and now are working on the outside. I hope to have it looking decent this year and then maintaining and working to upgrade as we go along. It is a neat little motel--quirky and funky, but comfortable and in the middle of town. AND for the first time since we got it, I actually feel physically able and want to work on it! YAY.

Ate a big breakfast yesterday and that was it until a snack before bed--too darn tired to eat.

Have a great day folks!

It was a good day today with cool weather and a smattering of lingering rain showers. Got some serious garden time in and most of my front walk weeded. Carried a few loads of mulch to the back yard and played dominoes with a friend over breakfast. AND finally broke 123 pounds. I lose weight so slowly, but only have a few to go. Then on to maintaining.

Hope everyone's day was a happy one.

I understand that for sure. I think having a BnB with people in your home all the time would be extremely tiring after a while. I love having guests but love it even more when they go and I can have my space back. I could not imagine doing it to make a living .

Your friend days do sound awesome. I really miss having my girlfriends close by.
Today I am cleaning off my work bench. I laid out a necklace for stringing right before my mom called to say my dad had passed away . I was there helping her for 3 weeks and have been home for over a month now. I think I had better get that done before the cat knocks it off and I am mad LOL Need my work bench back to make little houses for the new fairy garden I am making. Hmm I should really call it a gnome garden though . It has way more gnomes
Enjoy your day :)

It is sometimes hard to find that perfect balance when dealing with people. Luckily I have several friends here that get together a couple of times each week--breakfast, game playing, and such. So I guess I am not antisocial--just don't like to deal with the public any more than I have to do. For eleven years, I had people in my home and was always "on"--almost like playing a part in a play. After a while (ten years) I started resenting my guests. Went on for another year and had to stop.

Yesterday spent the day in ABQ with a friend--looking at garden plants, having lunch, visiting a gallery where another friend was having an opening--that kind of trip. Absolutely beat by the time we got home, but we enjoyed our day.

Today I want to work in the garden in peace and quiet and enjoy a restful day.

I wish everyone their perfect day!

I am peaceful about the decision. The right ones are often the hardest to make and the lure of money is often a strong pull LOL

I only take care of a handicapped mentally challenged man now. I would enjoy a little more contact with people . Hubby is not really a talker. So m y world is a very quiet one. I do remember working retail for years and that people can be very overwhelming . I think that is why I love animals so much. Not a lot of harassment
Off to work with me ladies.

Had to babysit the motel this afternoon to check in guests as Bob was in Santa Fe at a budget meeting for the village. He does most of the working with people--thank goodness. I work the phones and take reservations, but after eleven years as a bnb owner, I hate doing the people part!

Since I was there, I worked on getting the new kitchen in a suite we remodeled finished. Lots of little things needed doing to get it finished by the middle of this month. It was actually fun to see things getting done.

Walked a little bit, but the knee was hyperextending and figured it was better to stop. Trained with Tipsy for fifteen minutes too.

Hope everyone enjoyed their day!

It did sound like you had a lot of negatives going on with the job offer. But even if you decide not to take it, it is wonderful to have it offered.

Beautiful out today! Got a walk in and moved a couple of loads of mulch. The hole is dug and amended with compost for the clematis--will plant toward evening. A few things accomplished!

Enjoy your day folks!

Driving phone people make me crazy.Stay safe today !

I am leaning toward saying no to the job offer. Gas was up another .10 a gallon in Tularosa today emoticon .It would be a lot of hours away from the homestead .Such a great opportunity though Boooooo.

Windy and chilly down here again today. I think I am going to curl up with a book and take the day off from Spring cleaning

Yep. I know there are lots of cities with more traffic, but I do not enjoy driving in ABQ either. And not only does it feel frantic, it also has so many poor and/or angry drivers--and then there are the texters and those using the phone. I feel vulnerable. And today is obedience training so I will be driving through ABQ into the far south valley for my class. Ah well!

What a great offer Arlene! Now you just have to do an evaluation of what it would mean to you. Good luck with that decision.

Everyone enjoy your day!

I dislike Albuquerque. It is too fast and too crowded. I am no longer used to all the traffic and commotion. I feel the same toward Las Cruses and El Paso . Funny because I grew up in NJ and it is traffic city.I just really really enjoy the solitude NM has to offer

Speaking of offers I was offered a great job with a veterinarian I used to work for. Thing is I am so out of practice and feel like I have probably forgotten more then I ever knew. I love working for him. I now live and hour away So it would be a drive in each direction plus they close for 1.5 hours in the afternoon for lunch I would just be stuck up there again :( It would be more money and it would be full time. Money is nice full time not so much. So much to do here on my3 little acres. I hate driving in the snow. I would how ever be learning again instead of in a stagnate job with zero thanks .

I also question everything a dr does. They are really not smarter then us .They just push drugs which also do not work great with my body So I totally get what you are saying .
Off to work with me. Have a great day :)

Try 20 paws bringing in dirt! That is why I have put a ground up tree mulch over the entire fenced in part of the property. Makes for nice walking, you can see the snakes if there are any, and it keeps the dogs paws clean. (and I don't have to mow anything!)

Yum home made yogurt--I do miss that. I haven't tried the kombucha, but have been reading a bit about it.

We got about six tenths of an inch over the last 36 hours and have enjoyed it greatly. I'd like it to warm up too. Am going to a plant nursery at the end of the week to look at what I can't resist!

I have a friend that tells me she doesn't understand why I even go to a doctor--as I never do what they want me to. Not exactly true, but I do tend to question everything in how it relates to me. I am extremely sensitive to medication of any kind--even the dentist has trouble working on my teeth because the lidocaine acts strangely.

Just back from grocery shopping in ABQ--always a trial.

Have a great day!

My cholesterol starting getting high when I was in my 40's I was a 123 pound vegetarian in great shape. I have let them put me on statins twice and both times I have started loosing hair :/ II switched to low fat no fat and gained weight. I am no longer playing their game. Like you said . You need fat in your diet for your body to run right and for your brain to stay functional . I like my brain too .

I played in the kitchen after work this morning .Have my yogurt incubating and the tea for my kombucha cooling.

Guess I will address the floors next .We got a bit of rain last night and those cute little corgi paws drag in some dirt HAHAHAHA

Hoping it warms up a bit I have some things to do in the yard . BUT if I have to work in the house I can do that too.

Critters are a lot of work. I have cut down a lot . My back has issues too. It is so hard to keep up.
Have a great day

My cholesterol has always been high, but I have refused statins over and over again--just not going there, thank you anyway! The new research is showing that saturated fats and cholesterol do not affect heart disease and a meta study showed that among old women (me) it had no correlation at all. I like the way my brain works and I refuse to cloud it up with lots of drugs. Just me. The whole dietary thing is much more complicated than calories in calories out and the past 40 year experiment of low fat high carbs has been a dismal failure.

We made lots of yogurt and cheese with our milk and I raised two kids (children kind not goat kind) on it exclusively. And it got fed to all kinds of critters too. I miss the lifestyle but not all of the work. Bob hurt his back and the doctor said don't lift anything over ten pounds. I looked around the place and said there isn't anything UNDER ten pounds here! We moved back into ABQ a year later. Living here in the mountains gets us away from the city and is rural enough for dark skies and peace and quiet without being too remote.

It is windy and grey down here in the flatland too. My cell phone service it s tad sketchy today but thankfully so far the internet has been working.

Dairy goat are so cool. I love fresh cheese . Just can't make the commitment to the milking .Do you ever miss the fresh milk ? I used to get some from my friend it was so good.

We have perennials too. I would really like to expand on that . Now that we are getting a bit of filtered sun in the front I might try adding a few more. Our water, dirt and full sun seem a tad hostile to most living things LOL

Used to be a non ethical vegetarian .But have recently added meat. Funny how our change over the years. My cholesterol is stupid no matter what I eat . I bet my doc is going to be really angry when she finds out I have stopped my pills again too ...OOPsies
Have fun with your road rally I am heading back washing my dusty walls :)

Well life in the mountains got us again. No phone service no internet today until afternoon. Just love my phone service! (that was sarcasm)!

Great that the coops are clean--I used to raise dairy goats back about 30 years ago. Had them for eight years--what wonderful animals, and yes they were always willing to 'help' with everything! I do mostly perennials of the drought tolerant kind, but sure appreciate good veggies from the local farmers' market.

We had almost a half inch of rain today! Love it! We are also the destination of a car rally today--LOTS of cars going by, I was hoping the rain would deter them, but guess not. Ah well.

I eat totally different than I used to and am finding that I like it. Just have to focus on the end results--which for me is the blood numbers.

Every one: have a GREAT day.

I got the coops done YEAH!!!!! My 3 goat helpers sure make it difficult when I am in their section. They love the wheel barrow .Silly girls!

My tomatoes plants are starting to flower. I started them from seed in Jan . In fact for the moment everything out there is looking pretty good.

Caught another gopher today .That is a huge bonus. One killed an apple tree :(

I have recently lost 22 pounds. I had to make huge changes in order to do so. I had to really cut my portion sizes
BOO HISS!!!
Hope your day was as great as mine and that your check up goes well >

I'm sure the vine will be fine, but want to give it the best chance of success so will wait a bit more to plant--it has grown two feet in the week I've had it!

Laughter is the best! It is such a relief to laugh out loud with friends--absolutely therapeutic.

I go see the doctor in a couple of weeks to have blood work done and am anxious to see how I am progressing. Not losing but about an 1/8 of a pound a week, but I'm close to goal and am not willing to eat less than I am. The body will adjust at some point. AND this is a way of eating not a diet.

Good luck with the critter pens--been there done that!

I have one friend here . I love to go to lunch with her. We laugh and laugh. It is very healing. I wish we could get together more often.

Today we did pretty much the big nothing. Or as close to that as you can come around here. We went thrift shopping this morning.I really love that . Other then that just regular critter and garden stuff. The tomato plants are starting to put on flowers Sqeeeeeeeeeeee. I love when you plant seeds and then they feed you for the summer.
I hope your little vine will be okay. I will have to look it up.
Back to work with me in the morning :) Then after maybe critter coops they really need to be done .

It was lovely! So enjoyable to get together with a group of great women over good food. And I absolutely love my chiropractor and acupuncturist. (Hate needles, but feel so wonderful afterwards! What's the old joke about your head aching when you hit it against a wall cause it feels so good when you stop?)

I know how wonderful it feels to get something cleaned up in the garden! Such an accomplishment! I have a clematis to plant once the weather calms a bit--a Montana variety named Maylean. Not the big showy flowers, but small trumpet type that cover the vine in the spring in pink. Big vine too. It is already trying to take over my kitchen. Ordered it for mid-April delivery and it arrived in a snow storm and cold. Hope to get it out this weekend.

Enjoy your day everyone!

I spent the day in ABQ with Chiropractor and Acupuncturist and errands. Then met the "group" (wonderful bunch of women who get together whenever possible) for a late lunch that went on for a while. Always great to be on the road home!

Hope everyone enjoyed your day--and your garden Arlene.

Fingers crossed for you today .

Alamogordo is not too bad of a trip. It is having to travel 90 minutes to anything other then walmart that can make you silly.
I grew up in NJ there is a major mall in 20 min drive (without traffic of course LOL )in any direction. HA But I admittedly love it here WAY more .

Out to the garden with me :)

I don't enjoy it either. When we first built the place it was as a b&b. We were only able to finance through our local Credit Union, but that has to be re-fied every 5 years. After eleven years we closed the b&b, but were retired and had a cafe that we owned and when you are self employed no one wants to talk to you. We finally tired Quicken Loans online and it actually looks like they know what they are doing and it could go through!

Don't you just HATE that trip to the "big city"?! It sure takes up the day and is a pain in the behind. I always have a list a mile long too.

Also hoping your ri-fi goes well.I hate doing stuff like that .
Today was /is beautiful here too. Worked this morning and then had to run into Alamo for errand .That will waste the day.
Have the next two days off. With any luck I will finish the labyrinth and get back to working in the house . UGH then I have to clean the animal coops. They are seriously over due emoticon

Thanks Juneau! It can be hard to find good comparables in the rural parts of New Mexico. The appraiser is a good one--he has appraised the house before. I just want it to show well.

I'm getting everything ready for an appraisal tomorrow (refinance), but it was beautiful outside--would've liked to be in the gardens instead.

Eating is going well, still need more movement.

Enjoy your day everyone!
