emoticon for the update on the new app. I do use my 'bookmark' app most often, but when I want to just add a quick food or fitness activity then I use my real SP app, just the older one. So they both have purposes in my life,

The new app does allow you to get your daily spin, but not the bonus one. We can also read articles via the app to collect more points. The "Today" page looks better and is more informative. The rest of the app is pretty much the same.

I prefer the bookmarked app because I have access to all of spark not just food and fitness. The app they sell now I don't know if you can get your spark points. I know the old app doesn't give access to anything more than nutrition and fitness app. Why pay $5, if you can get it free?

There are plenty of features I use that are not part of the app that I always have one browser window open to SP on my phone and PC. I find it easier to read articles and emailed links, create blog posts and what not.

You can create the food groups on the web site and they will then appear as choices on the phone app.

We talk about the app here, but SP doesn't necessarily monitor this team, so we usually recommend putting an entry in the 'Site/Technical Help' forum. Click the Community tab above and you'll see that forum listed. User feedback drove getting 'spin the wheel' and reading articles into the app. Many others have asked about food grouping via the app so it would be worth it to share your request, too. Maybe that will be part of the next software release!

They seem like easy fixes and the app works fine for everything else. Why have 2 "apps".
I do think I figured out the decimal. I wasn't using a 0 first.

I use decimals in the food section. If it is half a serving I have to enter as 0.5. I have no problems with 1.5.
Instead of using the paid for app. Go in through safari and put in sparkpeople.com. From there push the button with the arrow in the square. It allows you to make a bookmark which will be put on the iPad and you can group with your other spark apps. It then works the same way and you are on the full website, able to add foods not listed, track mileage, get spark points, see your teams and interact.
I only use the reg app when I am just adding food otherwise I use the "bookmark" app. I hope this helps.

Some updates I'd like to see:
-Being able to enter a decimal in the food servings
-Tracking mileage in the workout/fitness section
-Creating "Food Groupings" in the app
