Sorry, folks. It has been really busy at work and I've just been dabbing at things outside of the essentials. Lovely to see so many positive posts at the end of a chilly, grey month. Congrats all round. Hope your foot is progressing well, Janet.

A emoticon for me for maintaining over January! This is normally my 'podge' month. Less exercise, comfort eating...you know the score... So I'm happy with this. I took a brave step, pruned through my wardrobe, tried stuff on and filled a bag for the BHF with bigger clothes.

Need to start the toning again. I've not had time or incentive to put videos on but the Fitbit is helping with general activity and the mileage has counted towards me being a good chunk of the 'virtual' way across Virginia, USA. emoticon

Wishing all a safe, warm and happy weekend!

Well done Sue & Chris for the losses. emoticon emoticon
emoticon Donna to be back in target range again. I know it's a feat to stay there but I'm sure you can do it.

Thankfully we didn't get any snow overnight although some flurries were forecast.

I've been for a little jaunt to Sainsburys this afternoon for a few specific things but was glad to be home again.
I like to go there because they have a very good selection of free from and meat free foods.

Morning all, another 3 inches of snow overnight, clear off we don't want you! Take the hint haha

Donna, congrats at being back on target emoticon

Another lb off this week that is 4lbs for January, slow but hey 4lbs a month is 48lbs in a year right? emoticon

I do feel better because of how I am eating, so that is worth a lot.

Not much else to report today, except pleased we don't have to go anywhere, hubby on the first of his days off.

Sue it seems to be thawing here and supposed to get up to around 35F today hahaha so may melt some and the sun is shining atm

See you all later

welcome Sue . Where do you come from in England? I am from S.E Medway towns and we only had a light dusting of snow which is gone in the rain this morning. My daughter is in Cheshire and the weather is not so good now and making travel lengthy and a little scary.
I weighed in today and was so disappointed that I am still stuck! I lost the half pound I gained last week but after a good start to the month with a 6.5 lb loss it would have been good to go into February with another 2lb off. 1 - 2 lbs a week is my goal but I am going to have to make some adjustments to food and exercise as my body had got used to what I am doing and not obliging. LOL
Have a fab Friday all

Thanks all for the lovely welcome. Heavy snow overnight treacherous drive to work at 5.30 a.m this morning bad for the old nerves. Hope has thawed by time it comes to go home emoticon emoticon emoticon

Janet, congrats on just 1.5lbs on with Christmas as well, that will be off in no time. Harder I know when you have a bad foot. Are you doing any seated exercise?

Snowy day here, but seems to be thawing as well, lol

Weigh in tomorrow for me, fingers crossed

Have decided to join this team as two of my best friends, Sue and Tina, are on here and this is the year I seriously need to do what I have been saying I will do for the past 5 years and thats lose lose lose. They are both doing well and I am envious so I need to learn from their examples and have decided to take encouragement and share with you all so here goes.

Well, I bit the bullet and went to my group weigh in...gained 1.5lb but I'm OK about that considering I haven't weighed for 4 weeks and as you all know activity is minimal. It was so lovely to see everyone again and catch up on how they're doing. Well the ones I don't chat with on fb.

Take care...rainy wet day here so very dull and grey.

I'm going for my 1st weigh in this year tomorrow morning...will probably be a gain but I'll just have to live with that as I'm not very mobile or active at the moment.

Very quiet on here...hope everyone is doing alright and staying warm for those who have snow!! Thankfully, we haven't.

Hi Donna...good for you being careful plan wise...I'm sure you'll be back where you want to be on Tuesday. Oh day your husband is a worrier but I know it's hard with aging parents.
Good to hear you're scaling down your hours...juggling everything is hard with a young family.

I'm hoping to go and weigh in this week at group, haven't been since 30th December...and I really miss everyone. Not sure what the scales will say because I hear my consultant is getting a new pair of scales. Anyway, what will be will be.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend, I have been very sensible and stuck to my syn allowance carefully. I so want to be back at target on Tuesday.

I have done very little really this weekend as the week's are still so busy, however I do finish my part time jobs on Wednesday this week so hopefully life will be a little easier after that. My full time job has got lots of new things for me to learn though so its an exciting time too. emoticon

My father in law felt not right yesterday and my dh was really worried, he takes on the responsibility himself so gets stressed. Later in the day he felt much better thankfully emoticon .

My leisure centre annual membership has run out and I'm not renewing it as its not worth it as I can't go as much as I used to in my other job but I hope I still go to the classes that I can get to. emoticon emoticon

Wishing everyone a great week! emoticon Donna x

Kelly...you're right, baby steps is the way to go. Good for you with all the exercise lined up...I'm sure that will help too.

Sue...good to know that Ralph is fully au fait with SYNS!!! lol.
Let us know the difference the plates make to you both.

Chris, good for you getting back to writing down and weighing your foods. That will surely help to you where you want to be. Have the weigh in and as you said, just move on.

Diana, how lovely to have the wedding to look forward too....and only 3lbs to lose...you'll do that easy!!

Well didn't go to group for the 3rd week yesterday. For some reason the top of my foot hurts now...the rest is still a dark colour but I suppose something is happening underneath!
I've been having a bad time with my usual antihistamine meds not being available but thankfully the pharmacy has now got them so today everything feels more under control again.

Donna...soon be w/e for you!!
Mona....how are you feeling, cough & cold all clearing up?
Irene...remembering you and hope you're coping. Maybe your family or friends are giving you some respite?

I'd agree, Chris, trying to be disciplined can be the only way.

I took my eye off the ball this week but luckily no weight gain. I've set a goal to chip into the next 3lbs over the next 3 weeks. I should be able to spend a bit more time exercising after I get this big report in at the weekend.

Some big motivation....our Daughter and partner have set a June wedding date!

Wishing all a good 'rest of the week'. emoticon

So sorry to hear news of Irene's hubby's health problem.
Glad that Janet is on the mend.
I have been struggling this week and have not been swimming at all this week but did an hour in the gym Mon and today. Have not been walking as much either. Must get my act together.
Back to writing everything down and weighing my portions - the only way it works for me.
Will have a bad weigh in tomorrow but will just have to draw a line under it and get back on track

Morning all and welcome back Kelly.

Been snowing for 12 hours and still coming, but not settled as deeply as the 4 hours on Boxing day, lol

Di, pleased to hear you all enjoyed the Christening.

Just had an e mail to say one of my expected deliveries is on the van for delivery today, that del has our portion plates in, so can be even better on track from today.

Janet, told Ralph about the syns for his sweeties and he says he will cut down, lol

Hope your fracture is mending well, Janet and Welcome, Kelly.

I'm still 3lbs from target but not gaining so not fussing particularly. I'm sure the extra will start moving when I can get more active outdoors. Walked today in what bit of sun we had, but had a huddly sort of day for the remainder.

Our Granddaughter's Christening Service was lovely. It was shared with her cousin, who is 1 and with another younger baby. A full church and lots of children taking an interest.

Other than that, term is well under way and I'm working hard!

Wishing all a good week.

It's been very cold here down south too but I guess not as bad as the Midlands Sue.
I checked the Haribo sweets...(not that it will frighten Ralph!) they're 1/2 syn EACH!
You're exactly right to watch the portion size. I've seen those plates on Amazon and thought they were a good idea.

The ankle I suppose is progressing just seems a long time to be sitting around and resting.
I'm hoping to go to my group weigh in this week...well that's my plan so far. I haven't been since 30th Dec.

Hope everyone else is doing alright. Mona how are you doing? Hope that cough & cold is still improving.

Morning al....fffffffffreezing isn't it? Although we have been lucky and so far the snow has missed us, only a few miles away though.

Irene, know how hard it is for you, as dad has the same with mum. Take care of you, and try to get breaks if you can.

Thank you for the celebrating me this week, lol. Have only lost lb this year, so am sticking to plan as it should be done! Have also sent for 2 plates marked with portions, as I take it literally that I can eat as much as I want of the extra easy!! Hubby wans to lose 3 or 4 stones as well. That SHOULD make it easier.....right? Not so much, he moans if I say we are not having that, or he still eats loads of those haribo sweets at work. I hate even the smell of them, so at least he doesn't eat them here. He goes shopping and comes back with 2lbs of them a week! He has grapes and chopped carrots as well, but I cannot get him to stop the sweeties, and he has put lb on since new year. Told him about the plates and that our portion size will be down, he says okay, but we will see, lol

Sadly I now have ironing to do, and I can't hear any volunteers lol. At least it will warm me up.

My steps haven't been too good the last couple of days, bit of arthritis in my foot with the cold. Talking of feet, how are you getting on Janet?

Ironing, I am gone

Sony friends but I am taking a Sparks break for a while. My husbands health is worsening. He has heart failure now, of course this all affects me and my own interests , I feel I need to step back from some things for a while. I am on Facebook if anyone wants to meet that way, I will pop in and look at teams as I can but for now I am a watcher not a player. Thanks for your friendship,
Irene

Well done Donna for the 1/2lb down. That's a long time for your fil to be in hospital...praying for some better news soon.

We had terribly high winds last night that kept waking me through the night...
Still resting my ankle and thinking I'm now 1/3 of the way through the 6 weeks....*sigh*

Keep pushing everyone... emoticon

We had the hailstorm too and thunder and lightning at 5am (only one loud crash) which woke my son.

I lost 0.5lbs this week so now 1/2 over target, great news. Starting to get my life in order (I will tell you more soon) but my father in law is still poorly (this is his 4th week in hospital emoticon ).

Keep at it guys, you are all FANTASTIC emoticon emoticon

Hi Diana, I hope I'm on the mend too...just not much of a patient!
No weigh in again for me this week but I am keeping a close eye on my home scales.

What a shame you can't go to the group as planned. I have a feeling my group is going to be changing premises too very soon...
I'm sure you know the plan very well and will soon make headway with that other 3lbs.

We evidently had a hail storm about 2am...not that I heard it but the evidence was still there this morning and low temps too.

Welcome, Mona. Good to hear from you.
Hope your fracture is mending, Janet and Congrats Susan on your weight loss this week.

I'm still within my 3lbs of the finish line but not getting any closer, however I'm not fretting. I'm grateful for having got this far.

But....sadly... They have moved the day time SW classes from the 'easy access' estate to a meeting place in the town centre and this means battling the shoppers and paying for parking. We're a multi-storey short while they are rebuilding Waitrose so parking is a real hassle unless you get there before 9am.
There is a new leader too so I wish her well. I can appreciate they are hoping to pull more people in but I'm afraid it will be a no-go for me. So, back to the handbooks I go.

Very busy start to the School term but so far, the weather has been kind in our area. Stay warm wishes to those of you further North and West!

You'll do it Mona...lets keep our birthday date in sight!! Just imagine how many pounds will be gone by then!!! emoticon Keep warm too.

Great you're 1lb down Susano...keep going.

Another day full of sunshine and heavy showers here, seems totally unseasonal. I heard they had some snow in south Wales!! Brrr!!

Hope everyone else is having a good week plan wise.

Made it through yesterday. They say the first two weeks are the hardest. And with all the "bad" foods I have eaten I think it is going to be even more difficult. But I have to do it.

Very cold and rainy here. Haven't been out since going to FL. I did go to the doctor and get meds but that is it. I think I am finally starting to feel better.

Have a great day everyone. Hugs!

Welcome back Mona. Glad you're starting to feel much better and wish you all success during 2015.

Great sharing tactics there Irene...that's the way to go.

Very dull day here weather wise but as I'm still in bed resting its not affecting me! Doing my best to stay on plan like everyone else but doubt I shall go to group this week.

Back again!! Hoping to really stay on target this time. So many things to deal with last year but need to move forward now.

So good talking to you Janet!! Pray your ankle heals quickly. I am feeling better today. The best in a week. So maybe I am on the mend as well.

Been so out of touch with everyone but it looks as though some of you have done GREAT over the holidays. Keep up the good work.

Happy, successful new years to us all!!

Catching up today. My eye test was very thorough , I do need new glasses, and you know what they cost
,We had lunch out yesterday, I did not want much and thought maybe a starter would work ,I ordered soup, not a great choice.vegetable soup sounded ok but was too spicy for me so I left most if that,. Then I shared a cheese and cracker portion with two family members. I love cheese so sharing it was ideal
Come evening I still didn't want much so had cornflakes with fruit on and soya milk. An all round unsatisfactory eating day,I must get back in step today, Hope you are all planning and coping better than I am. Irene

Thanks for the good wishes...I didn't feel at all well yesterday after my escapade in the rain so stayed in bed for the day. Up today and showered and glad to be using my laptop too.

Chris you have done so well with that weight loss...well done!!
The plastic bag would have been useful for my boot but it wasn't raining when we left home so got rather caught out!!
Best wishes for your daughter's 'jump' such a good cause. Hope they all raise lots of money.

Tina...will that 3lbs take you to target?
Yes I agree the book is a wonderful insight into our instincts and eating patterns. I also read somewhere (?) that this is also connected to the way food was presented to us as a child. For me, coming from a single parent family and 4 (always hungry) children my mum always divided everything equally with no seconds. I think this affected me in the way that I always want some more. We hardly ever had sweets or chocolate and that's another hard subject for me!!

Glad you are on the mend Janet and glad the eye test went well for Irene. Hope the meeting went well Donna. You have a lot on your plate at present bless you.
Weighed in Friday happy to report a loss of 6.5 lbs. That brings my stones number down by half a pound - better than nothing.
Weather so windy, wet and grey. DD is beginning to panic over her challenge to jump into and swim across the local outdoor unheated pool to raise funds for Bowel Cancer UK.
Her Just Giving page has been surprisingly well supported with it being so near to Christmas and everyone feeling the post Christmas pinch financially.
We will be at the poolside supporting her and supplying hot chocolate afterwards for her and her friends who are doing it with her.
MIL wanted to come to watch but it is forecast to be even colder tomorrow and she is wheelchair bound so it is not a good idea. Not much room at the poolside either so she would not be able to see much from her chair in the crowd of supporters. We have decided to take her out to lunch today instead and for a drive in the countryside. Have looked at menu to plan my best option so as not to wreck my weight loss efforts.
Going to join a friend at the gym tomorrow. I used to go years ago with sis in law but she stopped going when her hubby retired and I felt bored and self conscious alone.
Have a good weekend all

Congrats Irene and Tina! And well done all those staying within target zone. I now have 3lbs to go to 140 and that is despite nibbling my way through the lion's share of a gingerbread house made by my DinLaw. I think the determined effort to clock up my 10km a day mixed walk/bike towards my TransUS trip is helping.

The Intuitive Eating book is very engrossing, Janet. I've been reading it while virtuously pedalling away. I need to read more chapters before I would feel brave enough to trust my food instincts, but I did read the section on Eating Disorders. Some of that relates to young people I met when I was teaching for the Hospital and Home Education Service. Very interesting.

Good wishes for a steady and speedy recovery from the fracture. I'm afraid more rain is forecast for tomorrow. I remember taping a Waitrose bag for life over Hubby's fracture boot so he could go to an open air concert. Totally inelegant and rather sweaty but it did the trick.

Wishing your Father in law well too, Donna and thanks for your message. I'd had a 'Get a grip' moment because it dawned on me I was getting a tad moany and introspective. Not my style!

Eat wisely and wishing all a good weekend! emoticon

Great result Irene being 3lbs down. Yes wearing the boot in bed was a trial so I was glad I don't have to do that one anymore!!

Donna, hope you manage to negotiate better hours for yourself.
That must be a hard time for you all with your fil, those times are hard with it's a parent. Does Tony have siblings?

Today Joseph needed to go for an ENT appointment at a hospital in another town. I went too as he didn't know where to go. Only trouble was the rain was like an African monsoon (I've been there!). Consequently I got my clumpy boot and foot all wet! Ugh!

Hope your eye test went well Irene! And very well done for the loss - emoticon when we try properly can't we! Thats all of us isn't it!

Life is very busy right now, roll on weekend. I have a meeting with one of my bosses about reducing my breakfast club hours as there is only one of me and I don't want to stretch myself too thinly! Not sleeping well right now as Tony's dad is still in hospital, 2 and a half weeks now - its not good! I really don't think he will come home! We shall see?! My daughter went to see him yesterday and luckily he was reasonably 'normal' so she wasn't upset. I was on one of my visits so I was REALLY glad. Keep smiling team. emoticon emoticon

emoticon Tina and great for rejoining group again.

Donna, I know you're still in target range so no worries for that blip. We know we have to keep things in proportion.
Glad you're making changes to make life easier for yourself...juggling work & home commitments aren't easy, I've done that too.

I thought last night not sleeping in the boot would be a cinch...but...ohh the ankle was sooo uncomfortable to get off to sleep! Oh well, day by day I hope it will become more comfortable.

Well done Tina, I'm afraid I put on 2lbs this week, however I had lost 3 last week and am still only 1lb up from my target, so its okay!

I was a bit pushed yesterday afternoon and made a few decisions to make my life easier and hopefully it will be. I have decided to get up slightly earlier and it made such a difference to my day yesterday! Long may it last!

Glad to hear you don't need the plaster Janet. Hope you had a better night sleep last night. Chris and Irene I hope you are keeping going and feeling okay with it all. Be kind to yourselves and stay Happy!

Tina & Donna...all the best for your weigh ins today...
I shan't go to group tomorrow but intend to be back again next week as usual.

Had the fracture clinic appointment this afternoon. Told again it was a simple break, wear boot as a support for the ankle for 6 weeks, thankfully don't have to sleep in it anymore and can shower too. Don't have to go back to clinic again either. Huge relief not to have it plastered.

It's weigh-in day for me today and I'm panicking a bit - I had a real binge on NYE (food was quite good, but drinks - arghh!!)
emoticon
However, on a more positive note, I don't think I could have tried any harder since then, so am really hoping to maintain.
Losses play games with my brain, and I have a little devil that sits on my shoulder telling me that I've blown it and there's no point in trying. So next week could be a real challenge for me.
Will let you know the result after this evening.
Have done a lot of SW cooking this week, so now have many meals frozen and ready to stay on plan.
Have a great week all.

I had a great day today, however it wasn't quite as 'normal' as it will be tomorrow! So hope that will be good tool. I was delighted to have refused the sandwiches, chips and cake today in the buffet at work and enjoyed my cottage cheese salad, yogurt and strawberries. I am up to about 75 syns now this week, could be worse! Hope weigh in is kind tomorrow.

Sounds like a busy and successful Monday for you Chris.

hope everyone is having a good Monday.
In spite of chilly, misty weather I have enjoyed a walk to the pool, a swim, a walk across the park into town for shopping and an hour long walk on a very muddy river bank and country park.
Have stuck to my calorie allowance using S.W low syn foods so am feeling good.
Visiting a friend tomorrow and looking forward to it.
Take care friends

Hi everyone,
Yes Sue I too hope they leave me in the boot and not a plaster...I really don't think I'd be good with crutches as my upper back is not my strong point at all.
Well done for 10,000....keep going.

Irene...I called chocolate "the feel good factor" and I need it too. I tried the 5.2 diet but it wasn't really me either.

Donna, somehow the sick take it out on the nearest and dearest...I'm sure you husband understands that. Hope you fil makes a good recovery and is soon out of hospital. Talking about patients...according to Joseph I'm doing alright, although I did get a little hot under the collar when he couldn't make the bottle of frylight spray and told me he used a drop of EVOO... emoticon

Chris well done for getting back down the scales to pre Christmas. I know it's not easy, we still have too much hanging around in the way of goodies!

Tina, I gather broken ankles are very common...I'm thinking I'm not too bad as I don't have a bone to mend? Wonder where the chipped off piece goes to? lol

Donna, I hope your husband is feeling more peaceful now about his dad and that his health will soon improve. Well done you! For not taking out of the biscuit tin

Hope you enjoy your walk Chris - I'm off to church this evening, I'm never mobile enough in the morning to go

Irene… you need to treat yourself with something you like, otherwise you’ll just feel deprived and that’s when it all goes wrong for us

Sue – 10,000 steps in a day that is a real achievement, so well done you. I noted you are top of the fitness chart for January, and I am at the bottom, I can see I shall have to get my walking boots on and join you

Morning all, thick frost here and looks bbbrrrr

Janet, ouch, so it is broken, hope they can let it heal with the boot instead of a pot, so much easier for you

Irene I lost 2 stone in the past and had a 2 finger kit kat each night as my 'treat' so as long as it is counted it is fine.

Chrisin, great that you could get your delivery changed last minute.

I managed to do just over 10.000 steps yesterday, first time since the fitbit, I do it daily on holiday but not so much at home. To make up the walking I put on cds and danced round the room when hubby went to work last night, it all counts and is great fun

Off to get some breakfast and then prepare the veggies for later, see you later

I am sure your chocolate is OK if you count the syns/cals Irene. \You are doing so well I so admire you.
I woke up with a start by realising that I had a Tesco delivery booked for between 7-8 tomorrow which meant I would not make the Early risers swim session. Luckily a slot this evening was available. PHEW!! too soon to let a silly mistake spoil my exercise plans.
A peek at the scales shows me back to pre Christmas weight. Not that that was anything to boast about with all the run-up to Christmas socialising but at least I am heading in the right direction now.
Off to Church soon.
Have a blessed Sunday all

I am still here hovering round. The 5. 2 diet is popular I lookat itbutfektno it's not for me, too rigid. I like a plan that's flexible. I am doing ok on meals generally but still having my evening Chocolate . I have to work more on that yet, I can it medication as its a stress reliever. I am getting back into daily excercises again. Have a good week Irene

So sorry to hear of your f.i.l 's illness. I hope he recovers soon. Praying for him and your hubby
Hubby and I had a successful shopping trip and both found shoes we liked - most unusual for both of us to find what we had in mind.
I fell asleep in front of t.v.after my evening meal so am wide awake now (12:25) I hate it when that happens
I hope the rain stops tomorrow so we can go for a walk.
Enjoy Sunday everyine

Wonderful to see the team so busy again with all my great friends. We just have to keep on keeping on don't we!

Sorry to hear things are not so great Janet but they will heal soon I hope.
Things have been better here (my father in law took a turn for the worse in hosp yesterday and its taking it out of my hubbie, he has pneumonia again but had appeared to be getting better but its returned again). I haven't turned to the food!

I still have one more day before I return to work/school again so am going to try to enjoy it.

I'm going to start to try and walk more. Joined a gym last year but only succeeded in putting my back out.
We met up with Sue and Dave in September when we ventured up to the midlands - love them

Good for you all and your fitbits...not that I really know what exactly they're used for.

I was at A&E this morning with my twisted ankle...seems I actually have a broken ankle. Not a good result as I was out delivering SW leaflets at the time. I'm hoping they leave me in this support boot and not plaster it! Shall know more at the fracture clinic on Tuesday.

Keep going everyone...we know this plan works!!!

Yes Tina, come find me on fitbit, I am lowest on my friends steps but getting more in each week. Sue M and I meet up a couple of times a year with our husbands, they get on well, so that is great.
I waited until Jan to start again, lol

Hi Sue
Great to see you back on the SW team, I've only rejoined myself recently - and it was going really well up to this week - then there was NYE and a party, I overdid the alcohol big time, so am really back on track with a mission
emoticon
I've a Fitbit too, maybe we could tie up on that - I spotted you are a "friend" of Sue M on Fitbit, let's try and encourage each other.

Hello all, quiet weekend for me, hubby in bed as he is on nights. Done one day with great food and walking and also got todays dinner in the oven. I got 2 new Indian cook books at Christmas, one of them a superfood diet one and they are great, lots of spices, from cool to very hot depending on taste and mostly veggies with just a little meat, I am trying to cut down on meat so only do half the amount we did before and I just have one mouthful to taste. Had a fitbit as well, but had that early so am in competition with myself and although the steps are rubbish, I am doing more each week, so happy with that. Been harder as we were snowed in for 5 days lol
Raining now, but am walking up and down whenever I am on the phone and also during adverts, plus as hubby is on nights I play cds and dance once the curtains are closed lol

Have a great weekend
hugs

hope everyone has a happy weekend. Weather here wet and gloomy so after inevitable household chores hubby and I are going shoe shopping for dressy shoes for me and walking shoes for him. I hate shoe shopping as I ruined my feet in my younger days wearing heels and pointed toes and it is so tricky to find elegant shoes that don't cause pain.
Only one day of focused eating and exercise but so far so good.
I usually relax a little at weekends but as New Year celebrations came into the mix we are counting the weekend as we would week days normally
I am weighing everyday again as I read an article that says it is a myth that it harms our good intentions. I have tried both ways - daily and weekly and find that daily suits me best.
Take care
Chris

Happy New Year to all in Slimmin g World Team
Hubby and I went to the Social Club he belongs to where there was a Reggae Singer performing and D.Jing (is there such a word?) He was great but he did not play "Auld Lang Syne" at Midnight as is our custom so it felt a bit of a damp squid really.
The London Fireworks were televised and were specatcular as usual.
Today Mum in Law spent the day with us and we had a great time in spite of the cold gloomy weather.
The last day of my throwing caution to the wind.
I have written out my meal plan for tomorrow and calculated the cals.
I will weigh/measure in the morning (Oh Dear!)
I plan an early morning swim at the Leisure Centre and hubby and I hope to fit in a walk during the afternoon.
Hubby starts the 5:2 diet again on Saturday. - Not my idea of healthy eating but its working for him. So here we go into 2015 . I plan to take each day as it comes and count every single blessing.

Happy New Year everyone...from my bed!! Badly twisted/ sprained...not sure but badly hurt my ankle yesterday morning while out delivering SW leaflets!! Ouchy!!

Tina, sounds like your husband celebrated his birthday in style...why not, only once a year. Maybe bad timing but not his fault!!

Diana, good for you getting out walking lots.

Irene buddy...you can do it....well done for binning the Black Magic (my fave) I couldn't have done that!!

Donna...wishing you a successful year at target...want to see you becoming a Diamond member too!

I see we have a couple of new members emoticon !!

Not quite sure when I shall be back on plan...soon I think.

I'm afraid my NYE celebration was very synfull emoticon the food was good - melon and different meat starter - main was salmon and veg and 2 fruit salads for dessert.
But the wine flowed, and flowed and flowed.........
Today we are going to finish the salmon (I cooked a whole fish stuffed with herbs - it was scrummy).
I AM back on track today and determined not to have a gain this week!

Jan Ist, I had been avoiding the scales I did not need them to tell me I had gained weight,
But been doing a lot of thinking and planning and made today as Oh Dear day, I perhaps said more than that, I had guessed I was over 11 stones now,..I was right ,a pound or two over, that's it. No further, my first aim is get below11 again,
I can't get to classes now, I thought of online but hoping with a little bit of help from my friends I can do this,
I helped my self too by throwing out a box of chocs I had been dipping in freely. Bought for my husband but he didn't like them. Black Magic , thinking its wasteful I ate some,. Silly .
Hope you didn't have an Oh Dear weigh. In. Irene

Morning all, I am back and ready to start back on the plan seriously. I gained 2lbs since the start of December, but considering what we have had, I will take that. Getting rid of any leftovers via the bin, not my mouth. Roast dinner today with lean meat and lots of veggies and no roast potatoes or parsnips, lol
Need to go and change my tracker to the correct start for the year and we are off!

Thanks Janet, I was really pleased.
My husband's birthday today, so it's our usual bring and share dinner with friends. It's at our house so I do the main, so will be cooking a whole salmon - and doing the cheeseboard too.
The starter and desserts will be coming through the door later.

emoticon Donna being 3lbs down!! What an achievement!! Imagine what you could do with the new plan now? Are you going to have a go at that?

Diana, I always eat my main meal midday...have done for about 17 yrs now and find I have real problems now if I eat a meal in the evening.
Well done for signing up for the virtual challenge...you should do well.

My weigh in was 1.5lbs up...I'm actually OK with that...am still 1/2lb under target. I did fully immerse myself in the goodies over Christmas!!

Hope your weigh-in went well, Janet.

One thing I've preferred this hol is that we have been having our main family meal midday. During the working week, this tends to happen after 6pm (or later sometimes). The upside is that I feel sure I'm burning some of the calories off and I'm digesting my food better. Downside is that I have woken up hungry some nights at 3am. Not sure how to deal with this one!

'Intuitive Eating' book should be here tomorrow with luck. :)

BTW I've decided to do a personal challenge. I'm starting a virtual walk (with a small amount of cycling depending on the knees) across the USA. Reckon it will take well over a year, maybe two. Driving the trip has been on my list for years. However, this will do for now and I'm really looking forward to it!

A bit early but Happy New Year to you all xxx

Donna...you're right...the chocolate is around here too (as you know!) but for now is safely tucked out of sight in a cupboard!

I'm 100% back on track today...eaten far too many sweet things but am mindful of my weigh in on Tuesday morning!!

Its still a challenging time of year though isn't it emoticon Really good if you are able to put the foods aside/pass them to food banks. I am still tempted with the chocolates in the front room!
I thought I was on target for syns but then realised I had forgotten my two halves of cider so am over my 70 syns but not much! Can't have any more though; we shall see.

The lie in sounded great Diana after little children in the house. I am lucky I have been having lots of lies in and am enjoying it. Don't know how I will cope in a week if its frosty as well as early next Monday! Still enjoying this week emoticon

Where did the time go? Our oldest son and family were the last to leave yesterday. Hubby has gone to see the horses and the house is really quiet!

I allowed myself the luxury of a lie-in after a run of days of toddlers programmed to start their demands at 6am. Excellent sleepers though. I'm not complaining.

Like you, Irene, I seem to have a lot of biscuits and snacks left over and no fruit, which is a good sign that my kids are eating sensibly! I've stacked all the savoury stuff on a top shelf for now but will pop some of the extras in the food bank.

No gain on my scales this am. Now to start in on the last few lbs.

Wishing all a peaceful Sunday xx

Hello on 26th Today is review the situation and try to get back to normal what ever that is here .
I am afraid the biscuits tine and boxes of chocolate wer most if our gifts yesterday . I was a bit disappointed and thoughts could have given them lots of ideas if they had asked .
I have put them all away and they will go to people who will appreciate them,
As I said I am reviewing what is going to happen or not happen. Im avoiding scales but sooner it later will have face it. Good luck with your after Christmas plans . Irene

Irene...tough on that but maybe ration yourself with the biscuits. One good thing is that they will keep inside the tin!!

I'm afraid I put on 2lb this week, so still in target but need to go back to tracking this week which I didn't last week. Still plan to relax a little but in a 'sensible' way! Still haven't got around the overeating Tuesday nights!

Janet STS is fantastic especially at this time of year! Don't worry about next week, enjoy this one - forget the scales.

Good luck to everyone else. emoticon Have a great time I mean!

Diana, hope the SW group fits with your non-work days. Good to hear you have a plan for the new year and to shift the last few pounds. Sometimes they can be stubborn...but you'll get there.

Donna - I'll join if the sessions fit my non-working days. I teach after school 3 nights and am usually too tired to do much after that. I'll also start reading 100 days in Jan and order the book Janet mentioned. I'm close (6-7lbs) to being where I want to be but this last chunk needs tough motivation to shift. I'm still eating extras for all the wrong reasons!

One more day to get things done, then the family start arriving mid-afternoon on the 24th. I'll be getting extra exercise vaulting over the stair gates ! ;)

Janet, thanks for your honesty! I intend to get weighed tomorrow and then try to track my syns for the week better than I have this week emoticon but not be silly, after all I only get one week to get back in my target range if I am over it tomorrow. We are having a party too so have to cook something in the afternoon and try not to test them before the party.

Diana you are doing great, I find attending a club really a good idea. Are you going to join the club nearby.

Janet hope your weigh in goes well my dear and then relax and enjoy Christmas.

Of course none of us can relax too much! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Yes Diana there was quite a bit of mess from the window fitting but Joseph has seen to that.
That is good news that you have a SW group fairly close to you...hope you do join next year.

Irene, great that you can enjoy the Christmas lunch and have healthy alternatives too.

Donna...I saw you new thread and confessed all my weaknesses!! lol. After my weigh in tomorrow morning it will probably go horribly downhill for a few day!! We are only human...and most have the sweet tooth!!

Hello. I am still here there are no festivities planned now till dinner on Christmas Day at our sons, the dinner is ok. Turkey and lots of veg suits me, I do not like Christmas pud much so it won't worry me and skip that, there's sure to be healthy options around
My daughter in law has kidney problems so has to avoid salt and many other foods, so she always has fruit available ,
The danger will be tins of chocolates left open all around, , what will be your temptation ? Have a good week. Irene

Looking forward to hearing about the SW changes. Our village class closed but I've discovered a class about 3 miles away with free parking. I'll check it out in the new year!

Well done on getting the window work done in time to be cosy over Christmas, Janet. Hopefully not too much mess?

I'm glad your trip was enjoyable, Mona, and that you are feeling better. My cough was so irritating at night. I sympathise!

I had two less than successful cake baking sessions today before I twigged that the thermostat on my oven is clearly on the blink. It's overheating by about 20 degrees I think. If we can't get someone in, it will be an interesting challenge timing the turkey. Anyway, what was going to be a Clementine cake is now being re-formatted as part of a pudding! I did manage to rescue the banana bread by hanging around in the kitchen, peering through the oven door, before the outer edges incinerated. I refuse to try pastry until it's fixed so the mince pies will be Waitrose specials this year! Christmas fun and games! ( shakes head in disbelief!)

Wishing all a peaceful Sunday with success in the culinary department!

Mona, hope you have a speedy recovery now you have the right treatment for that cough.
Poor Megan & Cooper....hope they recover very soon too....it's that time of year for coughs and colds I think.
We'll need to give you some info about the new changes that are coming to SW...they will be launched on 26th December but at the moment it's all hush hush!!

Lovely moment Donna...receiving your Target award is a special moment. I'm with you there on the chocolate temptations...so hard!!!

I had a nice visit from my sisters and bil this morning...we don't see one another often enough although we live close together.
We've had some new double glazed windows and front door unit fitted...how wonderful it is not to have wet windows etc every morning!!
Yesterday I met my friend and we had lunch together...I tried to be good!

Keep trying to stay in moderation everyone....

Hi everyone. Stopping by to see how everyone is doing.

I finally went to the doctor today and I am taking amoxicillan and a cough medicine that makes me feel great!! AND it stops the cough! emoticon Makes me angry with myself that I don't go sooner but I keep thinking it is better and then back it comes.

Had a wonderful weekend in Atlanta with my family. Everyone was there but my son and three children. I got a great photo and as soon as I figure out how to download on this new computer I will post it. My granddaughter has been sick and so has Cooper so they haven't been over for a few weeks.

I am going to go on SW 100% after I get back from FL on Jan 6. I have gained three pounds.

We are not allowed to have Christmas programs in our schools anymore. It is so sad. I know how much I always enjoyed seeing my children participate when they were growing up

Take care everyone and have a great weekend. Hugs to all!!!

Well done Janet for losing the pound this week emoticon

I didn't lose weight this week, however was delighted to get my target certificate in front of my friends at club last night emoticon emoticon .
However I as tempted today with the chocolates, only had one celebration choc so far but I can feel how 'challenging' this period may be emoticon

Drinking water is a very good idea and I love my mint tea, which is mostly water too.
Irene hang in there, keep on with the little changes, emoticon .

Diana you're going to have a great night I am sure, you will look wonderful in anything I am sure.

I went to see Aladin, the Pantomime with my school yesterday and it was great fun and I got paid too emoticon . I love children's performances too and thats another great thing about working in schools.

I am really looking forward to Friday dinnertime as I'm ready for a rest! Only 2 sleeps till the end of term! emoticon emoticon

I think Christmas is coming upon us fast now, especially with all it's goodies.
I weighed in at group this morning and was happy to be 1lb down...a total of 72lb was lost by members today!! How's that for dedication!

Diana, you've got a few days to sort out your posh frock do...do you have one readily available to wear? emoticon

Irene...water is so good for us and can be filling too. Quite often we can mistake hunger for thirst. Keep going, I know you are doing your best.
