Well done Donna, that is great being almost at target now. I haven't heard about the books...so 'mum's' the word!!

My weigh in was a STS...I'm sort of OK with that but did expect a small drop...maybe have to work a bit harder this week!!

emoticon Janet I wish I was as talented - knitting is a fantastic skill and 2 sweaters is fantastic!

I lost 1lb this week thankfullyl so am down to 12 - 9.5 so almost what I want to be, I'd like to take target at 12-9 but try to get below that when I take target to give me some wriggle room, especially at this time of year. Almost there! emoticon (Also I ate a little more than usual last night but not the 70-90 syns that I sometimes eat on a weigh in night - guess that's a binge reallly - yes I'm not proud!) prob 23 last night so reasonable and I did have 9 remaining from the week so not too bad!

I have heard there are new SW books coming out after Christmas, its supposed to being made even easier! Not allowed to facebook this but you guys won't tell will you?

Hope your weigh in goes as well as you want it to today Janet.

Great thoughts Janet, I'd like some wriggle room too and Irene J is right you have a lot going on right now and are a maintainer so ignore the scales! emoticon

I'm hopeful for the scales tomorrow, however I know I will not overeat tomorrow night after weigh in as I often do, that's my goal for the day! emoticon

Irene, you're doing just great with your exercise regime. I know you're a maintainer and as long as your range is still in sight I wouldn't worry about such things. I know you have much to juggle with your husband so pat yourself on the back and don't worry. emoticon

Chilly here today but sunshine so we have to be grateful for that. Just one more week and it will be 1st December!!
I'm off to collect the twins from school and football...so better dash.

Hi guys, I'm sorry I haven't been around very much but I've kept checking in on you but been too lazy to type (maybe too busy too as things can be crazy but overall REALLY GOOD!)

I'm afraid that the scales weren't kind to me on Tuesday and up 1/2lb but I remained positive. I hadn't written all the extras down so wasn't sure if I had gone over syns so may have been lucky emoticon .

I can say that I am happy in my own skin right now, most of my clothes fit well now, I even wore my 'skinny' clothes at weekend - my thinner jeans and green jumper on Saturday and looked really good (in my thoughts anyway! emoticon .

Everyone else try to stay positive with me too, emoticon emoticon Donna xxx emoticon

I agree on the clothing. When I was young and even after the babies, the weight seemed to be around my hips but I had a waist.

When I hit 60, it started collecting around the middle and, I now know, depositing fat on my liver. Luckily, that is where it is going from again since I got stuck back into the plan. So, as well as improvements to my health, my clothes have started looking less bunchy as well.

I haven't had the best couple of weeks controlling my eating but this is my motivation to stay on track.

Wishing you all a happy Friday and lovely weekend.

My weigh in yesterday was up 1lb but that bought me bang on target weight so I'm happy with that.

I agree...we need a reason to carry on. My big incentive is that I 'like' being able to take anything out of my wardrobe and know it fits me and I feel good in it!!

Hope the weigh-in was a good one, Janet.

I guess we do it for health reasons more than cosmetic, Irene. Even a stone lighter has helped my knees. There were some days when going downstairs was so painful, I'd go down backwards.

I'm 'stuck' at the moment but my body fat% seems to have dropped a bit, so I'm hoping that means less of the fatty bit!

You're right. These thing pass. Remaining optimistic emoticon

Good to hear from you Cathy and how you're doing....

Irene, yes they'd really help you maybe plan ahead for some meals to have a few in the freezer.

I hadn't heard about the new range of frozen meal, that's what's needed, I do eat more ready meals mow I admit. I do prefer M and S count on us better than other brand. They are satusfying and varied. I have always cooked from scratch but times change, o spend more time caring for my husband and his medical and food needs, if I do a casserole I will freeze singe portions for myslf but like a variety too so the healthy friozen meals will be welcome l have a good day, Irene

Hi everyone,i havn't been on here for a while,i am still sticking to the plan most days though i do get an odd day when i go fo the rails,i havn't lost any weight but i havn't put any on so i am quite happy with that.
Good news about Iceland going to do SW friendly ready meals,i try to cook from scratch when i can but they will be handy to have in the freezer for when i am in a hurry.

Morning ladies....just seen on facebook that in early January 2015 SW are launching a range of SW ready made meals with Iceland. That will mean some competition for WW I suspect.

Irene...sounds like a good plan to avoid eating the chocolate without offending your husband.

Hi everyone,
Friday we celebrated our 22nd anniversary of our first meeting. We planned a meal at a nice restaurant and because the weather is never great this time of year we drove to Bluewater which is a huge shopping mall. The meal was very nice and later the centre switched on the Christmas lights and gave a fireworks show. We arrived at 11.15am and left at 8.30pm so you can imagine how many hours we spent walking!!
I don't know if I ate something that didn't agree with me but I didn't feel well that evening and for most of yesterday but we had a birthday party to go to last night, one of Joseph's Tai Chi friends. It was a lovely evening and I was able to eat a few things. Thankfully I feel much better today.

Well done Irene for your regular exercise. Maybe you need a little more on your plate to satisfy you longer or plan some snacks mid morning & afternoon to carry you over. That's what free foods and syns are for.

Lisa, you're doing well with your exercise too.

Diana, Oh bopping in front of the TV instead of lounging in a chair has to be good for you!! Great for getting your 10K is several times this week.

Jackie...maybe get your SW books back out and keep a food diary? Going back to basics again can really help you get back on the wagon.

Irene, that's great progress with the exercise. I tell myself that every day I move helps my heart stay healthy. I'm not making much headway with the last few pounds though. Evening munchies are my downfall.

I'm loving the way my Fitbit sends me encouraging messages, Lisa. Managed my 10k steps 4 times this week. Hoping to push some more in by bopping around during 'Strictly' tonight!

Happy weekend, Everyone.

Lisa your fit bit seems to be working for you, good. You come across as a determined person who makes plans and tries to stay with them,
Looks like I am not the only one struggling on here. Last week I did ok and lost two pounds, but this week I think I may be lucky to stay the same weight. More likely to have gained. I don't eat huge meals but get hungry between meals so it looks like I should either eat more at meals or go for 5 or 6 small meals a day,. It's partufually late afternoon and evening I get hungry , bread is my downfall ! I have exercised every day since this month started , so I shall not put myslf down too much. Have a good weekend . Just to let you know I got a Fitbit One on Sunday, and since then I have stuck to my food plan and done loads of exercise I have also up my water intake. So I am hopeful that next Tuesday's weigh in will show a good result. This week I lost 1lb and I was pleased with that as I had a bad weekend (my problem area).

Regarding the Fitbit One I love that it monitors sleep as well and it has been quite useful seeing how much I am getting and how often I am restless during the night.

Congratulations Janet. Sticking to plan is definitely the answer. I may go back to a food log over the next couple of weeks.

Just to add to the Alpro suggestion, Irene, my daughter has put the Little Chap on it because he has trouble with cow's milk. It is very easy to digest and may have helped clear up his tendency to eczema.

Light working day today and I'm at home. This may sound a little crazy but I'm going to make a start on the Christmas card list!

Wishing all a good day.

Good weigh in down 1lb so happy about that. Big decision day...I'm now going to really try and have some restraint on my eating...instead of keep free falling into the nosh stuff and then having several days in panic mode!

Irene, maybe try Alpro simple plain soya yogurt...I use that and it's very creamy. I'm not sure you can get a small pot, mine is a 500ml one and I just spoon it out. It keeps for several days in the fridge, I have it over chopped fruit every morning. I use it as my HexA as I can't have dairy.

Yes the virtual walk is encouraging me to do exercise daily , it's so easy to find excuses not to do them, no time, too tired etc.
Can I ask for suggestions on what I can use as a cream alternative on fruit ? I find the fruit yogurts too sweet and the plain yogurt too acid , it gives me heartburn. Thanks Irene

Congratulations on the weight loss, Irene. Good to see you over at 'Flylady' too. I'm hoping it will keep me a bit more organised.

I'm on day 3 of a Fitbit One, Lisa so too early to judge. I didn't get the more elaborate bracelet version because of price and because I have no plans to use one for for overnight readings. For me it's a discreet step and stair counter. What I can say is that it was easy to set up and link to my iPad. I don't intend to use it to log fitness mins here at SP (you can link some devices) so have no worries that the One doesn't register activity minutes unless you do high intensity such as running.

The advantage for me is that i hope it will encourage me to get my 10k steps. It's getting into the Winter season and I struggle badly with wanting to overeat and lassitude at this time. Easiest thing in the world to settle in a comfy chair and munch.

Hope all going well with Everyone's plans and wishing you all a happy, healthy and peaceful week. emoticon

Hi Lisa...sorry I don't know anything about the question you're asking. Sounds like you're doing well.

Irene, congrats on being down a couple of pounds. Yes I think the whole remembrance day was very moving. Keep going, you're doing very well with the virtual walking.... I've done one with a team on SP and it was a lot of fun.

I have some work to do cutting back before weigh in this week...hope I can stick at it!!

Jackie, hope you had a good w/e.

I think I put my question in the wrong place. Spark People seems to have altered slightly since last I posted. Anyway do any of you use either a Fitbit be it the Flex or One varieties or a Garmin Vivofit and if so which is the better. I am looking for some advice as I would like to get a better pedometer type device. These are similarly priced in the UK and want to make an informed purchase. The internet has not been overly helpful as some seem to prefer one over the other but there doesn't seem to be an outright winner. Some feedback from someone who actually uses them would be useful. Thanks :-)

I am doing a happy dance as have lost two, pounds this well, it is recent gain but even so it is a start to getting back to where I want to be ,I am also am doing a virtual walk with a sparks friend, it's good as i can do it in all weathers. I didn't do much actual walking this week but home exercises counted towards miles , also points for other healthy habits can convert to miles. I think I will have reached the first target town today, Melton Mowbray . It's interesting to do exercse this way. Have any of you done virtual walking ? Irene

I heard a few fireworks around 7pm but didn't seem to be as many this year. I agree, the animals don't like the noise!!
Jackie I'm sure you'll make progress for next week...maybe me too!!

I'm up a bit too - not surprising although I'm not happy about it but hey ho.
Watched some firework displays last night which looked great (from the front room) but I always feel sorry for the poor animals who get terrified.
Have a good day

No firework party for me either...had enough of those and standing in the cold when my two were young.

Weighed in at group...up 1.5...I'm OK with that as I'm bang on target so not complaining.

No fireworks party for me, although if I see any fireworks going off from the comfort of my warm front room I will certainly watch while 'oohing and aahing'!
Had a big meal last night - plus a pud - so didn't weigh myself this morning.
Have a good day

Mid week chat I am doing ok in my virtual walk and planning my own meals . My husband only wants mush and mash as I call it but though it's more work I am making myown meals too. Thank goodness for slow cookers and freezers.
Waiting now for blood test results for my husband, he's had a mystery illness,
Anyone having a fireworks party tonight? Enjoy it if so. Irene

Jackie we were given a memory foam mattress topper and after laying on it for a couple of days my eyes were very sore and itchy...seems I have an allergy to that stuff. They also make small make up sponges of that stuff...I found that out from a fellow sparker who was intolerant of those.
Hope you enjoyed meeting your friend and the foodies!

Lovely sunshine here today after all the rain yesterday...I did lots of walking. My weigh in tomorrow...not sure how that will go this week.

Been a busy day here, we had a new mattress delivered. Also the property owner sent the window fitter to measure up so God willing they may agree to replace the windows and front door!! Continuing to pray so.

A few years back I organised a Route 101 virtual walk for the team...it was online and when we completed it we could print off a certificate...it was a lot of fun to complete.
Irene...I like rewards too!!

Jackie...well done you for tracking your food again...it all helps. Hope work was alright for you...hard after the holidays!

Donna, hope you enjoyed Butlins!!

I saw on fb that Mona's back online again...hope she'll join us soon.

Irene - I love the idea of the rewards system, and have begun tracking my food again as well. The virtual walk is a great incentive too - I'm in another Spark team which is virtually crossing the USA!

Irene, just keep on keeping on, I really like the reward scedule - it works really well at SW classes too, thats why they have the stickers and certificates.

Think I need some guidance today too, its going to be a shock to the system after a week off work etc (all the rushing around!) so keeping relaxing today!

Wishing everyone a good week! love from Donna x

Thanks for encouragement which I need. Yesterday I couodnt do my morning exercise but did a walk . On it I called in newsagents and bought SW mag, now looking at it gradually ,I fancy the fish pie, I must note what ingredients I need and be positive in buying them.
I am keeping my own journal and giving myslf points , such as having water not wine with my dinner. Maybe work out a reward system, is that childish? Oh who cares, have a good day, Irene

Thanks....I shall be wearing my new Diamond badge with pride! emoticon

Irene, don't forget to enlist some family members to give you some respite help. And yes, why not use ready meals to help you at this time....please post when you can my friend.

Jackie...glad you've had a nice time in Eastbourne and yes the weather has mostly been lovely and mild.

Yesterday we walked in the country park for a couple of hours...I was so lovely and warm and then we had lunch out. A nice meal of fish & chips...don't have that very often so I enjoyed it.

1st November today....I'm glad I don't have the American Thanksgiving celebration to contend with!!

I haven't been chatting lately , my husbands Alzheimers in worsening I am having to do more for him. He only wants certain foods now easy mash ones. I was eating The same And yes. A few goodies too, comfort eating, i avoided the scales, but today was my start again day. Yes I have gained a few pounds not surprisingly but within recovery range,
I had been neglecting my morning exercise as dh needs morning attention, well I am thinking I must find another time to exercise maybe when he's having a nap. Also i am looking at doing separate meals for me , even having a few frozen low cal meals for busy days. I have to look after myself or I can't look after him , help Irene

Glad you finally got your certificate and badge Janet. I'd just say keep on keeping on - your story and ability to keep the weight off will inspire others in the group.
Glad you're still smiling Donna, and you're so right about the fact it is virtually November! emoticon
Not sure what my plans are for today. My daughter went to a gig in London last night and returned in the wee small hours so the chances of her surfacing any time soon are pretty slim! May get back on the Wii Fit - that's lots of fun.
Enjoy your day

I agree Jackie the weather isn't good here today either. I find reading/watching the story of people's lived fascinating. Some end very sadly. I've just seen on the news about Jackie O and Onassis...I had no idea about her marriage to that man!! sounded like a nightmare.

Weighed in today at group and stayed the same, fine by me. Also (finally) received my Diamond Award certificate and badge!! What do I strive for next? emoticon

I'm fine thanks. Spending a few days with the kids at Eastbourne although the weather here is lousy today. Went to the library with my daughter and managed to get Miranda Hart's last book, which I know I'll be laughing out loud over. Went for a lovely long walk yesterday and trying to eat reasonably well. Watched a fabulous hour special on Vivian Leigh on Sky Arts tv this morning. I'd taped it weeks ago but never got round to seeing it. Such a beautiful and talented lady but so troubled.
Have a good day team!

Well the predicted sunshine never arrived and so it was a rather chilly and dull day but I walked plenty this morning doing my shopping around the town. I bought the wool for my chunky jumper...want to have mine & Joseph's finished by Christmas.
Had a good day on plan so hope my group weigh in goes well tomorrow morning.

How's everyone else doing...??

Oh lovely Eastbourne...more training or a social visit? You're right it's been lovely today and will be tomorrow I gather. Sometimes it's good to live far south.

Not a lot happening here because there are issues with my sister in law so the family have been phoning.
Did get out for a bit of food shopping so that was one thing achieved.

I'm certainly not super fit - enter events which are happy for you to walk. Was a lovely evening though.
Hope Mona manages to get her computer up and running soon - I get withdrawal symptoms if I'm away from one for too long!
In Eastbourne for a few days and the weather seems to have picked up so it's all good!

Jackie...hope the 5K went well...you must be super fit !!
Not sure why I've started knitting again...just fancied doing some I suppose. Fortunately I can do other things while knitting, even following the Aran pattern.

I saw on fb that poor Mona's computer died so she's a bit limited for internet at the moment.

New week...hope everyone has a good one!!
