Oh wow!! Janet, that's an amazing compliment - well done you.

I was surprised to be nominated for Woman of the Year (which was deservedly won by a lady who has lost 4.5 stones) I was encouraged and surprised by the nomination - quite humbling
emoticon
I've been off of track for a few weeks now, although I haven't gained any weight, I haven't lost either - I was hoping to achieve my 2 stone award (another 4lbs) to go before I come up to Derbyshire to meet the two lovely Sues. Only two more weigh-ins to go, so it'll be a big ask. Something to strive toward though!!
emoticon
I've had a total nightmare over the last few weeks. I used to do the accounts for a local British Legion Club and have been retained for their Internet Banking since I left - the man that has dealt with it since became ill, and died suddenly, leaving it in a real mess and there's no-one able to deal with it, so I'm out of retirement and trying to get things tidy again. Poor chap, I just wish he would have spoken to me.

Oh well, I'm sure it'll come all right in the end.

Hope you're all ok. Enjoy the bank holiday weekend.
Tina x

Hi everyone!! Still doing well. Tomorrow will be weigh day.

Janet~~that is SO awesome!! And very deserving. You inspire me so much so I know the ladies in your group are happy that you are with them. Congratulations!!

Sue~~so glad your leg and foot are better~~and that is great on the bp. I decided long ago if I have to take meds and I see a difference then "so be it". So glad the work is completed for Pops. And sounds like the Gas Company service was great!! Now they can keep toasty and warm this winter.

Donna~~so glad you had a good holiday. I just loved Wales. I have learned from another team that they have a DNA search on Ancestory and since I have never known my Welsh ancestors I may look into that. All I have ever known is that my grandfather was from Wales.

I would love to send all of you some nice warm temps. We have had 17 days of 100+ since June 1. And today is to be 100+ with temps feeling like 104. And August is our "hot" month. I don't like cold either so trying to just keep quiet and stay indoors in the cool. emoticon

Wishing you all a great day!! Hugs!

Morning all, tried to get on yesterday morning but Spark was down for maintenance.

No more loss since the holiday but no gain either.

Janet, well done you and lovely surprise to be Woman of the Year, the picture is good you look great!

Donna, where in Wales are you? My homeland, *sigh* lol

Dad has been having all the work done since Tuesday having the new boiler fitted and pipes that go with that etc, just a conventional one not a combi. Mum could not have stood the extra noise and mess with having to have all the pipes and radiators replaced. Dad says the workmen have been good and all worked together, only one guy there mostly, just an electrician pops in when needed. He only had the original guy come to look and give a quote a week last Monday so to have all the work finished in under 2 weeks is amazing, and so far he has only paid a deposit, lol. Plus the workman has cleaned up after himself with his own hoover as well. British Gas have been wonderful with mum how she is , they took it all into account, can't praise them highly enough. Touch wood we have never had any trouble with them either.

Mona, good to hear you are back on track, hope you feel so much better really quickly.

Tina, I found it easier this time on holiday and have been struggling since I got back, mind you some of that was the swelling in the leg and foot but that is almost back to normal so no excuse really.

My bp was finally 'normal' 120/80, never been that before but I do now have 2 different meds a day for that! Not ideal, but at least it is helping.

Lot cooler here last few days, like Autumn, not summer, hope it warms up again soon.

Have a good week everyone emoticon

Good luck for tomorrow Janet and well done Mona. I am very glad I didnt go abroad, we are having a lovely holiday in Wales.
My eating plan has had more than one pause this week but I am on holiday aren't I!
Our view over the estuary is amazing but the walk up the hill to our holiday house is a killer - very proud I can walk it though.
Hugs to you all. (enjoying the WiFi but miss my computer a bit. XXX

Tina, I agree, to be mindful of what we're eating does help a lot on holiday...well done for adding in the walking too. I think it's nice because we are seeing unfamiliar things so doesn't feel like a chore!

Well done Mona...3lbs down is an excellent start for you again.
Sorry you have such high temps...I don't want them either!! Last night we had a very bad storm and rain like we used to get in Africa and indeed Spain!! Thankfully it passed over before we went to bed.

Today we ate out and I went according to plan...veggie carvery and a small dish of ice cream. Joseph had the turkey carvery and then choc fudge cake and ice cream. See how restrained I was!! lol

Down three pounds! I feel so confident when I track and post!!

Off to get my hair done and a manicure. My "treat" to myself every two weeks.

We continue to "fry" in the 100+ temps. Yesterday was the 15th day for 100 and above. I mostly stay in. With the humidity it is horrible.

Have a great weekend everyone!! emoticon

Thanks Janet, I was quite focused and determined not to gain - did partake in the manadatory French wine though - did quite a number of additional steps though.
I've also walked a couple of miles today, to try and keep my knees moving. They are still aching from the stairs I had to climb so many times while we were away!

Great news Tina....I really admire people who can lose during a holiday....never been my forte! lol

Great plan for the chocs Donna...I once put a box of my fave Black Magic chocs in a cupboard for one year. When I opened them they'd gone all white!! lol.

Weighed today at group...1/2lb off...doesn't sound a lot but takes me to 2lbs under my target range so happy with that.
Walked for an hour this afternoon on the windy seafront....I didn't really feel like it but went to keep Joseph company.

emoticon Sue for losing a lb even after a holiday and to you too Tina for losing 2lbs, thats really great!

Janet well done for the compliments about your clothes looking well/fitting well, I'm sure you think that too, its a really nice feeling to recognise and enjoy it yourself emoticon .

Yes I'm determined to be SENSIBLE - back to 'NORMAL' eating, I haven't been this BIG for years and I don't like it. emoticon The food really wasn' t worth it!
I got two boxes of chocs and have put them in the front room so that they are not visible to me or my kids, after all they will only get eaten when they are open so if I don't open them!

Donna...you've been so busy with school work and now you're almost at the end of term so you'll do much better. Enjoy your family holiday in Wales and come back refreshed.

Sue...that was a lot of walking but I think we tend to do that on holidays so we can explore places etc. Hope the swelling of your foot & leg subsides alright.
Well done for losing 1lb while away...no mean feat!!
Hope you can get your dad's boiler sorted out...I think companies can be too quick to write off things thinking people will just pay for new!! wrong!!

Sad to say my sisters love that Italian restaurant because they get 2 courses for 7.95. Unfortunately there's nothing I can eat on that menu. So I chose only a starter...baked mushroom with goats cheese on a small salad. Later we went for a 'golf' ball size of choc ice cream.
I also had some nice compliments about the skirt & top I was wearing...size 10!!
Weigh in tomorrow...

Hi, back at last after our hols. Walked just over 17 miles over 3 days, have suffered with swollen foot and leg since we got back but it is going down slowly.
Doing my knee exercises and that is helping as well I think, go back in a couple of weeks to add different exercise or weights to the ones I am doing, not sure yet.

Dad has had to be sorting out his heating boiler as the firm he insures with has said they can't get the parts for the one he has. Actually we found out they have plenty of parts, but no-one old enough to have been trained what to do with them, all the ones in their 40's have left because of how they were treated. Had a couple of quotes and also seeing who would do it best and also with as little fuss as possible because of mum and we are going with British Gas, none of us had any problem with them and they were also giving the best deal. Should start in the next 3 - 4 weeks and take around 2 - 3 days. Not having a combi boiler, just one that he can still use his hot water tank as that suits him and is less work as he can keep the same radiators, nothing wrong with them. Will be some painting to do after, but that is for Ralph and me to do. Hopefully will be done before we go away in Sept, even if the painting has to wait a week.

I lost lb while away, so the walking obviously helps, done nothing since we got back as leg was so painful, but getting exercise in around the house and garden.

Janet, hope you can find something at the Italian restaurant today, fill up with water until you get home and can have something else, shame your sisters wouldn't try somewhere different for you, you pick next time!

For all of you (us) that aren't " in the zone" emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Sorry guys I've had a bit of a mad time really!

Sadly I've not been on plan for a few days this week, even bingeing if I am honest and don't know why.

Last day of term today so I think its going to get better. Though am on hol from Friday for a week, to Aberdovey in Wales - never been there before!

Good luck for WI tomorrow Janet and good wishes to everyone! emoticon emoticon

Hi everyone...mighty quite here!! Hope everyone is just busy?

Mona, hope that cough improves soon for you. Well done for getting back on track again. I know it's hard when we're not well.

We walked this morning and Joseph had physio this afternoon.
Tomorrow I have the meal out with my two sisters at their favourite Italian restaurant. There's really nothing for me to eat so I asked if we could go somewhere else? I was told no, they're sure to do a salad and some potatoes. Well I've checked the menu online and the salads are sides so won't be any big meal!! lol. I found a salad of lettuce, artichoke, mozzarella, olives and olive oil. So I'll omit the olives (don't like, I'll ask for tomatoes) and oil. I'll take my own dressing to use. The potatoes will be plain boiled. Hope it goes alright because it's the day before weigh in.

Good to see you back again with us Mona...you're doing well with your tracking.
Oh those temps are so high...reminds me of Spain and I'm so glad to be back in the UK, even if the weather isn't very summery at the moment.

Donna...you're doing well so keep going and you'll soon be back in target range again. I know it takes determination and planning but you can do it!

I'm doing fine eating wise...hope to weigh in this week at group. There is a new sw book coming out on 27th July that interests me "Veggie Deluxe"...4.95.

Great to have you back Mona, WE all know it works when we stick to it don't we!

I am on day 3 of being super sensible and have weighed myself this morning and it was very pleasant, I know I can get back to target for next week - the first time for 3 weeks (still hopeful!).

I hope you all have a great weekend

I guess I am the "bad penny"~~back again!! Had some not very good news at appointment with cardiologist so I will need to do something.

Had a lovely weekend with my family at daughter Nicole's beach house in Pawley's Island. It is so hot here that I didn't stay too long at the beach. Enjoyed sitting on the dock reading. Nice breeze off the ocean.

Looks like we are to get back into the 100's this week.

Take care everyone.

Congrats to Emma!! Hugs to all!!

Hugs Irene...I know it's hard being a carer so just do what you can and please ask your family for help when you need to.

Glad you had a lovely family time Donna.

Our two celebrations are now past...need to get back to being on plan again but feel so ugh from some wheat that I'm not feeling much like sticking to the rules. I'm not weighing in at group this week, although I'll still go to weigh everyone else.

Have a good week everyone...and hope you're getting some good weather, I see ours is about to get wet again.

Irene I think we're all finding the heat a little too much. I slept with a very light duvet on last night and the big window open with the air circulating through the house nicely. It's been much better today though.

Thanks Sue...we had a lovely day today.
Hope your B/P settles...maybe that is a bit heat related?

Good afternoon.

emoticon to Janet and Joseph, plus emoticon to Joseph for Sunday.
Enjoy your trip to London.

Our gd was nominated for a drama award at her school last night, and was lucky enough to win. I went with her dad, but boy it was hot in the hall, no AC, one door open, no fans. As soon as the first 2 years awards were done...her cousin was nominated as well in the year above....we all left, before we passed out!

My bp had come down a little today, but still too high, do Dr gave me an extra tablet to take with the one I already take.

Keep cool

Sue my celebrations are 21st anniversary tomorrow and Joseph's birthday on Sunday but we're going to London on Saturday for the day.
I had 1/2lb off this morning at weigh in...not sure what next week will hold!! lol.

I agree...drink that water to stay hydrated!

Tina...maybe get your husband to eat 6-7 walnut halves a day...that lowered Josephs cholesterol and was recommended by the GP.

It seems that I'm in holiday mood already - 1.5lbs on for me this week - oh well, I did have three meals out, so I can't complain. Enjoyed the week though.
My husband's doctor has suggested he try and lower his cholesterol by diet - if he gets any slimmer and stands sideways I may miss him!
emoticon
Another diet for me to investigate - I thought we were doing ok with cholesterol friendly food - so am off to check out the NHS website for ideas.
Have a good week everyone

Morning all, as Sue says, another beautiful day.
Last time we were waiting in for a fridge freezer to be delivered they said all day, but on the morning they e mailed to say it would be morning before 1pm.

Lisa, well done you, coming off nicely.

Janet, good luck with your WI then enjoy your celebrations..are we missing something of yours, bd or anniversary?

Tina, as Sue says, enjoy your holiday and get it moving back when you get home. I am planning to enjoy ours, lol. Last time though it was mainly water weight from all the travelling on the coach, as we walked a lot and St Ives is hilly as well.

Irene, yes all my bottles are full of water, so that I can get a nice cold drink whenever I want one. Nagged the parents to drink more and have added no added sugar squash to their shop order this week to encourage mum, lol

Tonight I am off to see grandaughter get an award at her school for drama, and then they are putting on a skit, just me and her dad ( my younger son ) going , nice of dil to give me her ticket, she knows we have only seen her once since Boxing Day. Will take their bd cards and presents round as well as we are away on her bd, but will be back the day before her dads. We travel back on my elder sons bd, so an expensive week even if we weren't going away, lol
Tomorrow is yearly blood tests, so lots of blood taken, and also checking my bp again as it was so high last time. Can't see the heat helping to be honest!

Hoping those thunderstorms they forecast later and tomorrow miss us all emoticon

Thank you Tina - I am very pleased and feel very motivated. I must admit the warm weather is helping as I am enjoying salads etc which aren't always so palatable when it is colder. I hope you have a good week too :-)

So I toddled off to SW this morning and I weighed in at 11st 4.5lbs which is 6.5lbs lighter than when I last went 7 weeks ago. So I am more than pleased with my starting point on my new journey to a healthier me.

With this warm weather we are currently experiencing I think this week should not be too difficult. And now that I am only writing down what I have for SW - no more counting the calories and carbs as well - I should find life a little less stressful.

So here's to a good week for all of us :-)

Tina, have fun, bad timing on the extra work. We don't go to Bournemouth until the 12th, so hope this hot sunny weather stays. Sadly, I don't get a bus pass until I am 64, but Ralph has one because of medical issues, so not so bad. Going to Poole to take a boat trip if fine. We have been to Bournemouth a few times, only down and up from hotel, pretty flat then. We walk the prom way to Boscombe, but then a VERY steep hill up to town, lol
Hope you can relax in France.

Sue, I just did more washing, so will either iron tonight after Ralph goes to work, or first thing tomorrow.

Morning all
We're off to France on Saturday, and someone had dumped a load of book-keeping on me - just what I didn't want with 4 pairs of trousers to shorten and some other admin to do before I go - do you ever wonder if it's all worth it!!
We're really looking forward to the break.
Sue-O: Hope you enjoy your walking in Bournemouth, it can be really hilly though!! nice bus ride to Swanage if the weather changes, so take your bus passes and call into the Ship for lunch
emoticon
Sue-M - ironing done before 9am - don't know what to say really, other than enjoy the sunshine!!
We're off to Runnymede tomorrow and a trip along the river to Windsor by boat, it's commemorating the anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta and we're taking our group of elderly folks (that's older than me, by the way) from the church for a Jolly!!

Good morning all

Tina, well done on your Club 10 award.

Lost another lb this week, slow and steady at the moment. We go away 2 weeks today, would like another couple off before then, we will see. Hoping to maintain while away, as we plan to walk a lot, if it isn't too hot, lol Only going to Bournemouth, but it can get hot there haha.

Roast chicken dinner today so that should keep me on track today, lots of veggies.

Have a good Sunday everyone

Good to see you back here again Lisa and wish you success at your group. I don't like feeling hungry either and as you said, we know sw works!

Irene..I'm sure you are up to your eyes if you're moving...hope you have some help to do that.
I haven't had any sw meals either.

Tina...wise decision to work to small goals and leave the big picture to take care of itself. You'll get there!

Donna...it's my heart's delight to have a line full of dry washing! How easily we are pleased! lol.

Things plodding along here, Joseph's not doing well with his whiplash injury but thankfully we are collecting another car Wednesday afternoon. The write off settlement was better than we could have hoped for.

Food wise...going strong!

Hmm... Boring ? Donna - never! just practical - these things have to be done.

I haven't tried the SW ready meals yet Irene, although members in my group say they are nice. I have heard especially good comments about the burger (I usually do my own -5% beef mince, onion, mustard, Worcester sauce - loverly!)
Hi Lisa, not sure we've met before - I weigh in a Tuesday class too. I have a lot to lose, not really sure how much although the experts would probably say that I should lose around 6 stones, but I'm not looking to achieve that, one day at a time is my plan emoticon I don't lose very quickly though, a bit under 1lb a week I think. And I am told it's harder as you get older, so that sounds a really good excuse to me - so I shall stick to that.
Have a lovely weekend all.

I have decided that on Tuesday I will be going back to class. The positives are I am not as heavy as I was when I last went so what I have been doing since stopping hasn't been all bad. Clearly had I continued I would be closer to where I want to be but it is going in the right direction.

I have also decided that I am only going to follow the SW plan. Up until now I have done SW plan but also logged what I am having on the SP nutrition tracker. The downside of this has been if I am close to the calorie limit or even the carb limit I won't have say an apple if I am peckish, which usually results in me then making a less healthy choice later in the day.

So because I know SW works if you follow it properly I don't need to see what my calorie intake is. I think this will also take a bit of pressure off of me to be perfect. I'm not and never will be but quite happily beat myself up when I have gone wrong. When really I should say to myself it's done move on to a new day. So here's to Tuesday and getting back on it. Finally I know my losses won't be huge my regular loss was about 1.5lbs on average but that is also fine because that is how I lose weight. I must not get jealous and envious of those who lose loads each week - their journey isn't mine and to be honest most of the huge loss ladies have a lot more to lose then me so it's only right that their losses should be greater than someone who has around 1.5 stone to lose.

Lisa

Hello on Saturday Yesterday I did food shopping I was pleased with my load, a fresh chicken. Some SW ready meals plus lots of fruit and veg,
I haven't tried the SW ready meals yet but will do. I have to accept some days ready meals are the answer , but thinking if I add more veggies to them it will fill my plate and make them more healthy. There's not usually much veg I a ready meal,
In theory we are moving to a bungalow, the sale is ongoing with legal side being done, but then it needs loads doing to it before we can move in. But I am still decluttering ,
Have a good weekend , Irene

Donna... emoticon for 5lbs down...I know that took some hard work!!

I weighed in at group this morning and was 1lb down...happy with that because I'm only permitted to go one pound lower. I do feel I've worked hard for the 3.5lbs I've lost during June. I'm in a good position now.

emoticon Tina, Club 10 is a fantastic place to reach!

I was really pleased to lose 5lbs this week, according to the scale but had put on 5 1/2lbs last week - no idea how bizarre really so a little more would have been good.
My consultant told a story about us appreciating the here and now and our dieting story so I will try to share it with you later.

Thats right hope your appt goes well Sue and Janet hope your dh is feeling a little better, I know the accident hit him really hard.

Its sunny again and although I have a work all day not half a day today, Its going to be a good one for us all I am sure.

Hi all, I've had a really challenging week (foodwise), but was delighted to lose 2lbs this week and get my Club 10 (losing 10% of your body weight). Only one more weigh-in before we go on holiday!!

Sue I hope your hospital appointment goes well. I know that sore knees can slow you down so much. Hope they can help you.

Ha ha Irene I'm the same with diet books on my book shelves...I should clear mine out too.
I agree...we are following a healthy lifestyle not dieting.

Sue, hope you get some help with your knees...I had a problem with one but thankfully that was fairly easily remedied without intervention.
Good to know you're straight back onto the plan again.

Well done Donna for staying on plan and noting everything in your food plan book.

Morning all

Irene hoping things aren't too bad for moving this time, I know you got rid of lots when you moved to your flat didn't you? Surprising how quickly we collect more though! If we had to move from here they would need to give at least 6 months warning!!

Thanks for bd wishes and I am straight back on SW and it has worked in one day, lol so onwards and downwards emoticon

I have an appt with physio on 8th July about my knees, Dr says from what I described it just needs building up again with muscle and tendons, so we will see, she never even offered an x ray she was so sure. I did go back to Walk Away the Pounds yesterday but just did a mile and didn't hurt the parts of my knees that usually hurt, but killed at the back so maybe she is right. Not going to do the 2, 3 or 5 mile ones yet until I have seen them, in case I am making it worse.

Got loads of good books for my bd and started one yesterday, just a chick lit one, easy reading, am saving the harder to read ones for our holiday, when I have plenty of time to concentrate.

Have a great weekend everyone, hope your weather is better than ours, a bit murky here today

Oh Irene, I hope its not too hard sorting things out. Definitely exercise minutes too!

I still need to sort some papers - emoticon

Glad you kept the Slimming World books and of course you aren't on a DIET (Dare I Eat That?), we are all trying to have a healthy eating plan.

I am glad that I am keeping on plan myself and recording it all in my food plan book.

Morning all, back on SW plan from yesterday, took a few days off over my bd, had a meal out, then a takeaway next day, and hubby bought me chocolate bd cake!! I cut him pieces twice as big as mine, lol Was careful the rest of the week and stayed the same so happy with that, now back at it, just over 3 weeks until we go away again.

emoticon Janet, sadly I didn't lose this week as I'd planned but actually put on lots - don't do anything by half me. I didn't think there was any reason why I'd put it on but know I can lose it this week (or most of it) and only ate an extra 3 syns on Tuesday night and am 100% on the challenge this week. emoticon

Irene you are right going on hol is good but getting back to 'normal' eating is really good and the middle of the night trips are annoying but healthier! emoticon

I weighed at group today and was 1/2lb down so happy with that...getting closer to the bottom end of my target now which is where I prefer to be!!

You're right Irene...even though it gets you up in the night...it's all progress!!

I am feeling better for eating the sw way, I know I had too much salt in the week I was away, I think that's going no as I am passing much more water , annoying in the night when I am up several times .
I will look at the latest challenge which sounds doable , hope you are all well . Irene

I agree about the difficulties of eating out. When we were in the IOW for a few days we did a lot of research of places to eat. But even so it's still different to home cooking. I came home with too many pounds too!

Just waiting for our hire car to arrive...it will be good to have a car for a while again. The legal side are into a personal accident claim so maybe at the end of the day we will have sufficient to buy another small car.

Hi Irene, lovely to have you back. Having a week off cooking will have done you good mentally I am sure, freeing up some mind time. I loathe planning meals for my family. I agree its hard eating out adn our tums prefer what they are used to!

I almost always eat GAMMON when I go out for a meal as there aren'T usually any other SW friendly options, but luckily I like gammon.

Hello again. I haven't been sparking much though did log on daily ,
We were away last week in a holiday caravan on the Welsh coast, I promised myself a week off cooking, restaurants and cafes don't suit sw way of etating! I didn't weight myself when we returned. But I felt my digestive system and stomach were not good. Too much salt in prepared meals ! But it happened . We had a good week, I felt relaxed . Then once home and after unpacking and settling back I went right back to sw eating, I am feeling better already,
Hope you are all well, how do you cope with eating out. There's not always a healthy option . Irene

Well done Tina for being 1.5 down...all adds up. Yes I keep an eye on my BMI too.

Donna, I have weeks where I'm either out of target range or not where I want to be and just refuse to weigh in at group...even though I weigh the members!! lol. So don't worry...keep pushing on.

Thankfully I was 2lbs down this week, taking me to 1/2lb under my target.
I'm afraid the stress of the car crash continues, we know now that the car is a write off. Not good when you don't have funds to buy another. I suppose we will just have to try and save up for one like we did this one. Thank goodness for free bus passes!!

emoticon Tina and Janet, great losses!

I didn't go to get weighed yesterday, I was exhausted with one thing and another and I didn't go! Will def go next week, I am still driving ahead and Tina I think the journey is more important than the goal really and each pound we are getting 'healthier!'

Another 1.5 lbs off for me this week - it's going really well - just another 0.5 lb to get my club 10 Still a long way for me to go, but I don't have an end target, that would be too scary. Just taking each week as it comes.
We going to a nice Italian restaurant with our friends to celebrate their wedding anniversary on Thursday and a picnic on Friday with some friends, so this week will be a challenge. Still hoping for a loss though.
My plan of action so far is to drive the the restaurant, that we stop me drinking any alcohol and keep me focused.
Have a great week

Tina that's great to have a holiday to look forward to, just be extra sensible between now and then!

Janet I hope the soreness is fading and that Joseph is feeling a bit better too, it is horrible and the noise is very hard to forget isn't it!

Anyone else enjoying this warm weather, so muh enjoying putting my washing out and getting it dry easily!

Have a good week everyone!

Hi all
Janet - sorry to hear of your car accident, it is such a shock. That's what happened to us on our way back from Chester last Christmas and the noise alone is enough to scare you to death. Hope Joseph will be ok soon.
Sue - well done on shifting 3lbs, I've a holiday coming up in a few weeks to France the land of cheese and wine, I am reminded...... hmmm........... I feel a few pounds coming on
emoticon
Our central heating engineers are starting tomorrow. We finally went back to the original company who, unbelievably quoted half of what British Gas quoted ..... so hopefully we will be back to normal in a weeks time. I'm praying for smooth sailing.

Thanks Sue & Cathy....thankfully feeling alright but think the stress will still take some time to leave Joseph. His nervous system isn't good at the best of times.

Cathy our weather isn't very clement either...sunny but chilly winds. I suppose you're used to the TT races.

Sue, glad the 3lbs is gone...I know they gallop on but crawl off...you've done well.

We now have a hire car, our car will be collected on Tuesday to go to the repair place and for assessment. But it's a 10yr old car so we hope it's not written off!

Oh gosh Janet, what a shock for you all. Hope you are both feeling easier today and got some sleep?
Before that pleased all went well with the physio.

Tina, well done again, already chatted on fb about it lol

I lost 3lbs this week but no need to bother the tracker as it is from the holiday and the extra water weight as well, swelling going down slowly, as it has got warmer! Still it is in the right direction, whatever the reason.

See you all later, ironing to do, hate it, so will find some rubbish on tv to have on.

I was at the physio today and she was very pleased with me...only need to go back if I feel it's necessary.
Then we had a nasty car accident. We were stationary at a zebra crossing and a lady drove into the back of us. It was a terrible shock for Joseph...so we had paramedics, police and ambulance who took him to the hospital to be checked out. After blood tests, xray on his back he was allowed home. I think he's still in a big of shock and hope sleep tonight will help us both. My back's a little sore but probably just stress.

emoticon Sue...good to see you back again, where did you holiday? How was the weather? My trouble with reading books is once I start I can't put them down! lol.
Glad you're getting your knees checked out...we can't do without them!

Donna, I'm with you this week in not weighing at group. Glad your weight was better than you thought...it's a constant in our lives, isn't it!! I'll still go to group tomorrow as I weigh the members in.

Cathy, good for stocking up on fresh stuff again...do you have a big main supermarket to do that? I really miss the fresh stuff when it's not freely available at home.

I'm really enjoying the soft fruits...strawberries, raspberries, nectarines, peaches...the apricots seem to be over now.
We've had a windy rainy day today but I did go to the town and walked around doing errands and some shopping in Morrison's before picking Joseph up from Tai Chi.

It sounds like a reasonable morning Sue, what are you reading at the moment. I like reading but at the moment have too many books to read - one at a time!

I just weighed myself and the scales weren't as bad as I'd expected, very relieved I have to say but still determined to stay sensible and true to myself and our Slimming World eating plan. Not going to go to WI this week though as I'm still a little over target and went last week so don't have to go everyweek.

Hope you have had a better day Irene, its real British weather at the moment isn't it and the bright mornings are killers aren't they, I've been awake since 5.10am this morning emoticon .

We were able to get to town and have a walk around and stock up as it didn't rain until around 1.30.

Having a chicken dinner today, with lots of veggies, so I can do bubble and sqeak tomorrow with cold chicken. Have to go to the hospital with dad tomorrow, he has an appt there, dil will stay with mum, bless her.

My knees are really bad, left one been bad for years, but right one joining in now, and walking makes it bad and sitting still makes it bad, lol, so have finally got an appt to see the dr in a couple of weeks, at 8 am on my bd would you believe haha, oh well we will be up early enough to go out. Hubby is off that day, so we can go somewhere, maybe Chatsworth if the weather is fine, we can walk from there over to Bakewell and bus home.

Quiet day in today, may get some reading in, when the ironing is done.
Have a good day

Thanks for all the messages and goodies, just what I needed after our hols. Gained a small amount but most of that is water from a dreadful 12 hour coach journey home.

Back on SW today.

Just potted on some pepper plants we have grown from seed, the tomato plants are doing well.

Hi Cathy...good to hear from you again! Well done for signing up for sw again...you'll soon polish off that excess again. I agree it's a pity there's no group in I.O.M. Wonder if there would be a demand? You could email and ask?

Sticking to the plan...always seems to be that I can't deviate far before the pounds jump on! Wed weigh in always seems in view! emoticon

Well, June is starting tomorrow so lets try and do our best for a new month!

Hello everyone, just getting up to date reading all the posts.
I rejoined slimming world online yesterday after gaining 10lbs of the 22 that i had lost.
I really wish we had a slimming world class here,i think it so much better if you can go to a real class, but doing it online is the next best thing.
We had 3 days in Liverpool last week for the 175th anniversary of cunard,we really enjoyed seeing the ships and the light show at night was fantastic.

I agree with Tina Donna...I know it's half term and maybe a hormone issue is causing you to crave? Maybe back to keep a food diary and counting syns will help.
I know you can get back to it!!

Tina, good news about your husband but oh ouchy for that boiler replacement!! Oh well...bite the bullet and find the best price and plumber to do the work for you!
Great celebration time when you get to that 1.5 stone!!! I weigh the members in at our group and know all about the 1/2lb off a week...I actually did that one myself this week too!!

Irene...you have much to content with so I know you're doing your best.

I'm been off plan for 2 days...back to it today!!

I was thinking of you yesterday, as I'd seen you hadn't posted for some days, and I hoped you were ok. If it's due to half term, that'll be over soon and you can get stuck in to some healthy eating. If not, then let us know how we can help you.

Glad things went well for Keith Tina, don't be negative about only half a pound this week, 1 1/2 stones is a great loss for now!

I am in a bad place, think its 'cos its half term. I daren't get on the scales as I just can't stop eating food that isn't good for me. No idea why but everythings out of control! My clothes aren't fitting as well as they did, back to skirts again I think as I don't think any trousers will fit me properly! emoticon

This is so turning out to be not our year! Our boiler has been decommissioned as parts are no longer available (poor thing was 31 years old - so didn't owe us anything). We've had two quotes so far 3,500 and the comedian from British Gas quoted 6,600 less 400 trade-in, don't think so! Just waiting for one more - and thankful it's May and not February
emoticon
On the plus side Keith's operation went well and he's almost back to normal now.
We're off for a walk this afternoon as I'm really on a mission this week - I lost a measly half a pound again this week - so only one more half pound to get to my one and half stones..... watch this space.
Have a good weekend all
