Enjoy that holiday Donna - I love Butlins and spent a few days at Bognor recently.
Knitting eh Janet?! - used to love knitting but never seem to set aside the time for it now. I'm not one of those people who can do something else while knitting (watch tv etc) as I need full concentration! I guess I could listen to music at the same time though.
Good luck with the dentist trip. Not my favourite place to go and one I've been putting off for too long!
Have a 5k Poppy Run/Walk at Battersea tonight so looking forward to that.

Thanks Jackie. Aww that was thoughtful of your partner! Hope you enjoy those DVDS.

Donna, your consultant was right and anyway 0.5 is a mere blip. Have a fab time at Butlins over half term.

Not a lot happening here today. Joseph hardly had any sleep last night so was in bed this morning too trying to catch up. The weather was rather abysmal so I stayed in and did some 'quiet' chores and also some more knitting to his sweater that I'm making for Christmas.
I have dentist tomorrow, fitting of crown and depending on how that goes we may have lunch out.

Sadly I put on 0.5lbs this week, not so good but my consultant was lovely and said I had had two good weight losses in the last 2 weeks so shouldn't worry. ;-)

I am going to Butlins, Skegness, tomorrow for a week and though will be checking briefly I will be thinking about you all and wish you very good week.

hugs and best wishes Donna x

A colleague brought some gorgeous chocolate back from his holiday in Spain so I've been sampling some for the last couple of days. Couldn't resist! Plus had a meal out at Nando's last night so the plan has gone a bit wonky donkey lately.
Hoping to meet Miranda Hart at a book signing this afternoon - that will certainly lift my spirits. Such fun!

emoticon Cathy....2lbs down is great.
Sounds like the IOM got a taste of the Hurricane Gonzalo!! Stay safe.

We also had a windy night and when I drove along the seafront this morning the sea looked very choppy but haven't seen any damage. I have seen on the news that 3 deaths have occurred.

Another good day on plan...looking for a good weigh in tomorrow morning!! emoticon
Hope everyone else is doing well too.

The Chocolate Show was at Kensington Olympia for 3 days. Quite a small show in comparison to the Vitality Show for example and the chocolate was VERY rich, but had a lovely time there. Took some photos so may blog about it (if I find the time)!
Seeing a theatre show this evening - Neville's Island with Ade Edmonson and Neil Morrissey - among others. Looking forward to that.
Still getting back on track food wise.

Oh Jackie, where was the chocolate show? I'm could be the chiefest amongst the black toe nails!! I seem to get them all the time...just walking apparently!! No harm though, they just grow out.

Mona, they are predicting 55 mph winds...hardly hurricane status me thinks? But they are still giving warnings. Yes we've surely had sufficient rain in the UK this year.
I know you will enjoy your trip to VA and being with some of your family.
Hope your 100 day plan is going well.

It's been very mild weather wise this w/e here...tomorrow we have a delivery of a fire and surround. I'd like it to come before I leave to collect the twins from school so I can help Joseph get it in situ...well, where I want it really!! lol.

Good morning everyone.

Fall has always been my very favorite time of year. PA is so gorgeous but I have to admit it has been lovely here in SC too. Next weekend my daughter Lori and I are going to my son's in VA. It should be a beautiful drive up through the mountains of NC and into VA. My granddaughter is being confirmed so it will be a short trip but looking forward to seeing them all.

Cathy~~I just read about some missionaries that were in the Canary Islands. It sounds like an absolutely beautiful place.

Janet~~I didn't know that those hurricanes came to England. This one was huge and I haven't yet seen what all damage it did to Bermuda. Living in FL, we had plenty of hurricane issues. Hope this one dies out before getting to UK. I think you all have had enough rain for awhile.

Jackie~~I am so impressed that you went to a chocolate show. I am sure I would have sampled atleast a gain of 10 pounds. Hope your toe is okay.

Going to go and get busy. Have a great weekend everyone!! Hugs!!

In Eastbourne tonight visiting the (not so) kids - back to London tomorrow to see my team Palace attempt to beat Chelsea emoticon
The Chocolate Show today was very decadent but lovely. Bought a few things (and sampled lots!) so must now eat them in moderation!
Was horrified to remove my nail polish and discover a totally black toe nail! Can only think I damaged it during my recent half marathon but was too focused on finishing to realise!
Happy weekend!

Yes I agree Jackie we all have our little ways of trying to weigh a few ounces less!! Cathy you are right, it's just for ourselves really.

Mona...it's perfectly understandable that your scale was a little up but I know that will soon alter again now you're back on your 100 day plan. My gain was a combination of a little weight and the clothes...I didn't mind really because I expected it.

Anyone any plans for the w/e?
Seems we have Hurricane Gonzalo heading towards the UK...thankfully I'm far south east so they usually blow out long before they reach my end. But the west country may not be so fortunate.

Taking of your jewellery and wearing the lightest clothes possible before a weigh in at class,I have done that in the past, didn't fool anyone only myself.
Mind you I still do the same now that I follow the slimming world plan at home.

Hi everyone. Going to start my 100 days again tomorrow starting with Day #15. Time for Mona to get healthy!!

Once again everyone, thank you SO much for all your kindness. This is a wonderful team of friends.

Janet~~I was up 2 pounds as well but not from clothes!! Working back to be on plan and will wait until Monday to weigh in. I like Monday weigh ins. Sorry you didn't get your reward. Those are such an encouragement!! We all know you are a diamond!! In everything you do.

Diana~~sounds like your grandson had a very fun first birthday! Glad it was a happy time.

Jackie~~I have heard of Oscar Geoffrey cards. Is there a website? Are they only in the UK?

Donna~~how are the 100 days going?

Cathy~~Where is Lanzarote? Glad you had a wonderful time.

Take care everyone!! emoticon

I used to wear the lightest possible clothing at class weigh-ins. This included the removal of all jewellery and if I wore socks they would be a very thin pair! emoticon

Weighed in this morning with a 2.5lb gain...had to wear autumn clothes this week so probably accounted for some of it. I entered my weight on the SW website and it declared that I am indeed a Diamond member!! I was disappointed that my consultant had neither a certificate or badge for me!!

Diana...glad you had such fun at your grandson's 1st birthday party!

Jackie...you're right the savoury loaf was a big hit with many writing down the recipe.
Best advice I can give you is....back to basics! Remember when we first started out on plan and weighed and checked the book for info? Works every time for me.

Cathy - glad you had a good holiday. Don't worry too much about that weight gain - it happens to the best of us, especially on holiday when we tend to relax somewhat.
Janet - good luck with the weigh in. I'm sure your savoury loaf will go down a treat! emoticon
Diana - that paddling pool sounds irresistible and had I been there I'd have been desperate to go in myself! emoticon
As for me I'm struggling big time with my weight since leaving my SW class, but am trying to get back on track. Wish me luck!

What a lovely message from Mona. She is very much in all our thoughts. Thank you, Janet for passing that on.

Hopefully we're all chugging along OK. The weather here has been discouraging for outdoor exercise. I'm afraid I've been very static over the last few days.... a lot of assessment work on, which has generated way too much sitting at the computer. However we had a very special day at our Grandson's first birthday. My daughter set up a paddling pool full of those coloured balls and both he and our little Granddaughter were in their element.

This week and next week to get through and then it's half term and I'll be able to catch up. Phew!

Positive thoughts to you all. emoticon

Message from Mona to our lovely caring team:
"Just a quick note to say I am doing well. Taking care of some things but keeping on track. I am just overwhelmed with the love and kindness of my Spark Friends. Please let the SW team know they are awesome and I appreciate all the goodies, thoughts and prayers."

For anyone that doesn't know...Mona's husband Dennis passed away on Sunday.

Cathy...great that you had a nice time in Lanzarote, never mind about the gain just remember what a good time you had!! I've been to that island too...it's a true wonder!!

Jackie...yes thanks the day ended OK...well, I got the hot water working again. My grandson had the day off school today but was whizzing around when I saw him this afternoon.
My daughter and grandsons have seen that show too and said it fantastic!

Just making my savoury loaf for taster session tomorrow....I'm sure it will all get eaten! Not sure how my weigh in will go tomorrow...??
Had a good walk this morning while Joseph was at Tai Chi...

Thanks Janet - others did find the training day tough but I was the only one who openly told everyone what I really thought of it.
Got soaked walking along the seafront yesterday but got in a brisk 5 mile walk which can't be bad.
Still struggling to get my eating under control. Going to class kept me more accountable but I got disillusioned with going.
Have a good day everyone

I was so distraught when the pier was on fire at Eastbourne. At least it's repairable and no-one was hurt - although I believe there was a horrible incident subsequently involving a worker there? Can't remember now.
That lentil savoury loaf sounds fab - and free made the SW way if I remember rightly. Had a dreadful afternoon at work yesterday. Was on a training course and felt totally useless as just couldn't understand it or participate which left me feeling really dumb. 'Treated' myself to a takeaway blow out when I got back to Eastbourne which was great at the time but seems somewhat daft now. Oh well, we live and learn..........
Not sure what I'll be doing today as the weather here is lousy. Could be a tv & housework day.
Have a good one guys n gals

Mona, Jackie is right we all have times when you just cave....glad you climbed back on the wagon quickly. Praying for you and Dennis at this time my dear friend. emoticon

Thanks for the taster ideas Jackie...I will probably make a lentil savoury loaf and take half. I certainly like.
Yes the Diamond award is for 1 year at target weight.
Glad the SW principles are holding good for you...I think once we've used them they become second nature to us.
Have fun in Eastbourne...just along the coast from me. You'll see the vendors are on the pier again...still have to do the repairs but at least it's open for business again.

Day #11

After making it through 1/2 of the day I really gave in last night. Ate a large portion of spaghetti with NOT a SW sauce and had an extra dessert, bread, and snack. YIKES!! But jerked myself back up on that narrow road and planning on staying there!!

Things with Dennis are still the same and it is so hard to just "wait". But food certainly does not help so I must keep thinking that.

Janet~~so glad things were better yesterday.

Hope you are all having a great day. Hugs to all!

Diamond award eh? Isn't that for remaining in your goal range for a certain time? Fantastic achievement! emoticon
At the taster sessions I used to go to there were always lots of sweet things on offer - we liked to take a rice, tinned fish and vegetable dish for something different (plus we could have the leftovers later!)
Staying a fairly steady weight since leaving my group but still following the SW principles. The slow carb plan hasn't really come off although I now have lots more beans with my meals.
Enjoy your day

Thanks Mona...saw the dentist again today and thankfully the gum is looking better now.
Glad you had a nice luncheon and the food was what you were able to enjoy. emoticon

Jackie...well done for completing the 5K...however you did it, you did!! Now back to brass tacks again!!

I didn't go to group today for my weigh in as I was at the dentist. Hopefully will go next week...and should receive my diamond award!! We also have a taster session...what to make?

Went to my luncheon yesterday and they served hamburgers. But they had salad and fruit so I do not think I went too much over. Stayed on track the rest of the day.

Thank you for the prayers. It is a rough time right now but my family, my friends, and God will see me through. Hugs!!

Janet~~So sorry about your sore gum. Hope today is better and that you will be feeling fine soon.

Mona - Big round of applause. Congratulations!! You have been really focussed and I'm so glad for you. emoticon

Janet - Good luck at the dentist. I have a lovely dentist, who has looked after our family since the children were tiny but I'm still not that keen on what it entails. Hope all is ok.

Mini-celebration here...I'm back at my lowest weight for several years. I've wobbled up and down over the last 2-3 weeks but I'm hoping I can get into that last 3 lbs to achieve target.
Logging my food, being 'salt' aware and I'm going to try to find time to 'blog' daily. I'm worse on the days I don't do it...... Confession being good for the weight and the soul it seems.

Sunny here this am. After the mizzy day yesterday, what a delight!

Happy Tuesday! emoticon

Mona you're right, the more days we keep focused the stronger we become! emoticon
Wishing you great success for your weigh in tomorrow...I know you'll let us know how that goes.
Praying for the situation for you and Dennis...I know it's a worry with such a distance between you.

It was pretty chilly here this morning - 12C = 53F. I would have loved to switch the heating on but...it is still October!! We really have to do something about the draughty windows here and we need longer curtains to help too! Difficult when you're only renting a house. Anyone used the plastic film that can be put over the glass? it reads well.
I have two appointments at the dentist next week, hopefully the antibiotics will have cleared the soreness in the gum area. If so I shall miss my Wednesday weigh in...

Hope we all have an excellent week ahead!! emoticon

I am doing Day #7 and feeling stronger again. Making it through those few challenge days has shown me that I can keep focused!!

Tomorrow will be my first weigh-in.

It was really chilly here this morning. I go to early services and it was only 41. My apartment was nice and warm though and since we will be back into the 80's I did not turn on the heat.

Talked with Dennis yesterday~~he is not good at all. Going to keep praying a bit more as I still do not have a definite leading.

Diane~~I have really cut down on snacking. Especially in the evening. Doing a sugar-free cocoa or a nice cup of tea. I do eat my Italian Ice early in the evening but that has been it!

Donna~~Chinese is my very favorite. I would love to find one that is compatible with SW.

Jackie~~I plan my Tuesday luncheons as days that I can relax and enjoy food and fellowship. It was great last week because everything fit in perfectly with SW. Now will see how this Tuesday goes! But I am planning times that I know I will be the off program. And we do have to live for sure!!!!!

Irene~~Hope you continue to feel better and get your needed rest. emoticon

emoticon ladies....sorry I've been AWOL!!
Mona that is a beautiful pic of you...yes I know it was a few years ago but the way you're working you'll be there again!! Day 6 already!! I'm so glad SW is working for you again and you sound so strong doing your 100 day plan too!
The twins are in grandma's firm control!! Softie grandma doesn't seem to work with my two!
Good to hear that your consultants report was a good one. Praying for you and Dennis...I know these days aren't easy for you to handle.

Diana...hum...snacks do tend to be either salty or sweet. What to do? I just try to eat sufficient at meal times and then I don't feel the need to snack. You could try some natural nuts...they can be an HexB choice.

Irene...remembering you in your hard days. I think our clothes are a good indicator even if we don't get on the scales! Hoping you're sleeping better now.

Donna, that's amazing that you have a compatible Chinese place...!!

Jackie...you're right, we do have to live...I really got into that yesterday!! Back on plan today though!

I had a lovely day out yesterday in a nearby town...we had a meal and a rather decadent dessert!! Like Mona we've had rain today...it's supposed to be back to sunshine tomorrow though.

Day #6

Hi everyone. Had a challenging day yesterday but made it through!! Stress sure can make us want to eat.

Rained pretty hard until about midnight but now it is sunny, windy and cooler. May get into the 40's tonight.

Sorry - I've been a bit of a stranger but work is very busy. Lots of Year 6 worried Mums trying to find the right secondary schools and lots of Year 10s needing exam help. Hopefully it will ease after half term.

Mona - You are doing great! Your posts really inspired me to keep digging in.

Irene - A Get Well and Congrats on finding new determination. Hang in there!

Donna - I'm doing some of the Jessica Smith vids on youtube. It has added a bit of variety.

Janet - I agree about the need for snacks if I haven't eaten enough. The evening is bad for me if my daytime meals have been irregular and now it seems I have to cut savoury snacks right down or out.

My blood pressure was up today at my regular GP visit :( and as I'm trying to stay off meds as long as I can, I've promised him I'll tighten up as much as I can on salt intake (NOTE: This is 'Twiglet' lady talking here!).

I turned to the twigs when the hospital warned me off anything sugary and I needed more to nibble than fruit. However, now I have a salt/sodium limit, it is cheerio to mini-cheddars too.

This week is going to take some determination but I'll start reading labels again and clearing temptation from the cupboards...........

I can do this!!

Have a good weekend, Everyone. emoticon

Glad you are hanging in there Irene. It can be very hard but always remember WE CARE!
We are all finding the plan worthwhile even if challenging at times.

I am so lucky to have a chinese takeaway locally that makes SW free food as they will cook without fat if you tell them you are following SW, my consultant arranged this. emoticon

I feel I am not doing enough exercise though although I am always busy and walk almost everywhere at speed (if I can).

So pleased its Friday tomorrow. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Good morning everyone! Starting Day #4. The motivation was great today. Think of your diet as a road journey. Very narrow when we are on track and gets wider as we let things in that aren't on our plan. I really like the motivations Barbara gives with each day. And I am enjoying being back on SW.

Even took a 10 minute walk this morning. Plan to build on it until I get back to my 45 minutes, five days a week.

Jackie~~I LOVE Chinese food. And I know (and I will) when I go to a buffet that it will be a very WIDE road for me that day. But it won't be an every day thing so between getting back on food plan and building my exercise I will be fine. And you will too!! emoticon

Irene~~so sorry to hear you were feeling poorly. But glad you are back to getting some good sleep. If I have sleepless nights it is just horrible~~everything is out of sinc. Take care.

Donna~~I have managed to stay on track all three days and now this is number 4. It is much easier when all I have in the house is the right foods. emoticon

Janet~~Did you have a good visit? How were the twins the other day? Cooper can wear me down in a minute. He is such a sweetie though. Tell Joseph hello from me and I am going to write a note later today. Need to go try and call Dennis again and see if daytime is now better. Will let you know how it goes. xo

Hugs to you all!!

We all seem to have our own demons to deal with.
Just come back from an all-you-can-eat Chinese lunch in Chinatown. Tried to stay SW friendly......ish....... but it's very hard knowing exactly how many syns you're consuming in a restaurant. No point beating myself up over it though - I have to live! emoticon
Off to a friend's funeral tomorrow so may not be around.
Take care

Hello again. I have not been chatting much, I went through a real down spell and couldn't pull myslf out of it. Mainly due to insomnia thena feeling of no body cares and what do scales matter, you know how it goes. But the start of a new month gave me the incentive i needed to get back on track.
Yes I have put pounds on . Like Donna I did not think I deserved to be that heavy . My weight fluctates madly too. But my bra is feeling tight so that's .telling me something. I slept better last night m what a difference that makes. I did 15 minutes exercise fora start, I had oats an fruit with soya milk breakfast , so lets start again o am telling myself . Irene

Mona roasted red pepper huoumous dip is 2.0 syns per tablespoon for standard type or 1.5 syns per tblsp for reduced fat variety. Sorry if that isn't good news my dear. Italian ice sounds nice.

I am hanging in there. I worry that maybe I am having too much free food and not 1/3 of superfree foods! Have also been counting the syns carefully today too. Its not easy is it! emoticon Of course I am going to emoticon , not giving up!

Well done Janet for staying the same this week! emoticon

Hi everyone~~Working on Day #3. Had a great report from the cardiologist so that has really given me added incentive to keep doing well.

I did count the syns for my Greek Yogurt~~fat free but with fruit on the bottom. I got black beans and navy beans to add to my main meal several times a week. Tonight I am going to have a nice lean piece of grilled ham, a baked potato, and veggies. I have suger free jello for dessert.

Had a multi grain english muffin with turkey, velveeta cheese, and tomato for lunch with my yogurt.

No breakfast before going for my tests this morning.

Does Hummus have any syns?? I sure hope not as I got some red pepper hummus to eat with veggies as a snack. Only had a little taste so far and it is really good.

Also got Italian Ice (3 syns) instead of ice cream. But only going to have it a few times a week.

Beautiful weather here in SC. A bit warmer today but not too bad. Have a great day everyone. Hugs!!

I did rein myself well in yesterday and went to bed rather hungry...didn't do me any harm though.
Thankfully the snacking didn't do me any harm at weigh in this morning...I stayed the same! Happy about that. I only have 2 more weeks to get my Diamond Award!!

Donna....I'm sure you'll work hard on that gain this week...sometimes I wonder about the SW scales? Does seem a huge hike!

Well done Mona for sorting out a big SW shop!! That will keep you going for a while.
The church meal sounded very nice...maybe some syns for the sauce? Could have had cream in it? Probably hard to tell. Yogurt needs to be fat free to be free and the roll a wholemeal one. Hope that helps. emoticon
Praying all is well with Dennis and that the visit to the cardiologist was amazing!!

Jackie, I do find if I don't eat sufficient I want to start snacking. The day that was bad for me was when my son was coming for an evening meal and I ate light at lunch time...I normally have my main meal midday. I do have an afternoon planned snack of a cup of Options (2) and a small bar 85% dark chocolate (7) every day...my little treat.

I had a crazy day today. Left early to do my first full SW grocery shop. Not one prepared meal in the house. For me that is BIG!

Promised a friend to attend a luncheon at our church and was pleasantly surprised that they served pasta, with marinara sauce and chunks of white chicken breast. Very nice salad and iced tea. Now that was all free right? Tonight I am having some yogurt, multi grain english muffin, and a bowl of fruit salad. How did I do Janet? Need to add breakfast tomorrow but the big lunch really filled me up.

Then I help with Good News Club in our elementary school and left from the luncheon to that. Plus got a flu shot.

Going to call Dennis tonight and head to bed early.

Tomorrow is my day with my cardiologist and other than weight I am almost positive everything with that will be great. Just a long day.

Take care everyone and see you tomorrow. Hugs to all.

Oh dear what a wonderful group we are but we are only human and emoticon all of us, in our own ways!

My scales told me I had put on 7.5lbs this week and no way do I deserve that much! My body is strange as you probably remember me saying! But back to first principles for me too and I know emoticon . If anything I didn't feel as bad as I did putting on 1lb last week! Oh well! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

All of us, WE CAN DO IT!

I am posting each days challenge on my sparkpage under intro. It is VERY encouraging and once again I am very excited. Now to keep it going.

Today was answering some questions and then saying, "I used to be like that but I am not like that anymore."

I am following the slimming world program.

emoticon Irene, sorry to hear you're struggling. Maybe you can order some of those meals that deliver to your home and get some ready meals in?
Bad sleeping is an issue in my house too!

Just off to collect the twins from school. Dentist tomorrow because I'm having problems that he wants to start work on next week...think I need some antibiotics first. At least it's not hurting, just sore.

Have a good day everyone...and weigh in this week.

Hi on Monday it's so near to the end of the month it's incredible how time flies. I was doing an end of month review and got on scales today first time in about two weeks,. I was horrified . Need I say more. I have been feeling down lately mainly doe to not sleeping much at night, I have not been doing my morning exercise as I was too tired, then some comfort eating. Well you know the rest, but it's a wake up call, I am reviewing the situation that's a good start. I will be back once I have my plan set out. Irene

Ha ha Jackie...I think I remedied the 'problem' during the last two days!!

Hi Mona, great to see you back again with us. I know once you get the right mindset you will be off like a rocket attacking those pounds!!! Please let us know if we can help you with any info about the plan.

We've been searching in the stores and online for a new mattress for our spare bedroom...not an easy task but I hope we've identified the right one now!! Had a lovely walk along the seafront yesterday in the sunshine.
Visited my sister this afternoon to wish her a happy 60th birthday for Tuesday...same day as my daughter.

Hope everyone is having a good w/e.

Hi everyone. Back~~~~again. Joined a new team yesterday, 100 days of Weight Loss and I am going to follow the SW plan. Also made a real commitment to myself to get healthy once and for all. I am slowly falling apart. emoticon

Got out my books and read through them today and pretty sure I know what to do. I will miss the online tools but hoping to get help and support here.

Have a great weekend everyone. emoticon

Jackie, so sorry to hear the sad news about your good friend. Those times are hard I know.

Joseph is struggling with his sleep again...3rd night of poor sleep takes it's toll so this morning he went back to bed again until lunch time. Hope tonight is a better one!!

Ah back in the olden days Jackie...funny how it feels only like yesterday!!

Chilly start today, in fact I felt cold in bed last night and kept waking up! First day of Autumn tomorrow so I suppose it's a seasonal change.
Doing well eating wise and feels good to not have any issues though eating things I shouldn't. Hoping I don't slope backwards again!!

How's everyone else doing?

The film was brilliant yesterday - thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt a lot about the miners strike and gay rights in the 1980's.
Been on a bit of a food binge this weekend but will get back on track from tomorrow. Sometimes you need to just relax and stop worrying about things.....
Will be getting the train back to the smoke this afternoon. A good chance to read more of the fabulous book I'm currently reading "The Fault In Our Stars". Must see the film when I've finished.
Have a good one

Hi everyone,

Dentist wasn't so bad, he found a tooth that needs some attention, a sort of crown he said. So have some appointments planned for that. Avoided my grandson's emoticon yesterday.
Oh today was a trial...keep husbands away from tempting their wives with cakes!! emoticon

Donna enjoy your w/e rest from work! I know you like to mix up the SW plans and that works for you every well.

Irene, you're right about technology...what did we do before we could get online and start reading and posting!! Glad your granddaughter was kind enough to sit with her grandad to give you some much needed 'me' time.

Chris hope your swimming was enjoyable. We had a pretty good day weather wise...sunshine in fact.

Jackie, hope the film was good, haven't heard of that one. Yes I think SW principles does get ingrained into our minds, not a bad thing for me.

Glad that new hairdo made you feel good Irene - mine badly needs attention!
My switch to slow carb eating kind of hasn't happened - yet! I'm definately eating more beans but still have some SW foods to use up (and I hate to waste anything). I seem so used to SW it's still the 'natural' way for me to eat so I'm just seeing how it goes.
Off to see 'Pride' at the cinema this afternoon. Should be a good film.
Have a great day everyone

Am insomniac chat now. I know it's said do not use electronic gadgets late at night as they keep you awake but here I am ...
Yesterday I went to town for a much needed hair cut and style. I felt much better for having it done. Our eldest grand Daughter came to sit with her granddad , it kept him company and she got him talking about places we have lived in. I gather they both enjoyed it, I must book her again for future outings, have a good weekend Irene

Good Luck Jackie, different eating plans can work for us at different times! If I want to be full on SW I eat lots of carbs - green days but to lose weight faster less carbs and red days always used to work for me better in the past, however I like to be FULL!

Irene hope your son manages to be sensible with his eating now he has returned to home/normality! The house must feel a little empty.

Hope dentist goes well today Janet.

I'm looking forward to weekend! emoticon Have a great one everyone!

I'll be eating lots of protein, beans, veg and nuts but cutting down/out fruit, dairy and bread.
We'll see how it goes - no doubt I'll get 'beaned out' after a while and go back to SW!

emoticon Donna - and good luck with your weigh in Janet!
Am going to try the slow carb diet for a couple of weeks. Fancy a change and know my partner has got fed up with Slimming World. Plus I lost a stone on it before I joined SW so know it has worked before and I fancy mixing it up a bit.

Glad you're doing well going it alone Jackie.

Irene...you have truly inspired and motivated your son to try and better his health....well done.
My daughter has now lost about 2 stone...she's doing it at home and using an app to help her and it's obviously working. I like to think I've motivated her too.

Donna...congrats 1/2lb is better than a gain in my book! Wonder how I will do...could be a gain!

Great to hear from you Irene and super that your son has seen your good example! SW does work, no one knows quite how but it does!

My weigh in was 0.5lbs down today, great news! Need to up my game and try for more next week but a loss is a loss emoticon .

Life remains a little crazy right now but hopefully will settle down as the week goes on.

Quick hello today , a . The Internet is erratic and keeps coming and going.
B, my son is staying , so I am out of routine.

My son is very overweight . He surprised me by telling me he's on SW now. I introduced him to SW chips today , a great success , he loved them,. He is not going to group but trying to go it alone. I gave him my old SW mags so he's happy. Bye

emoticon Chris...that was a great weigh in, spot on target!! I know something about the trials of respite placements...I was in social services. You're doing sterling work.
Let us know how you do at the doctors for the test results...I've had plenty of bone scans, here and during my years in Spain. Thankfully the ole bones are good to go!!

Jackie, emoticon on completing the emoticon and with no training...Amazing!!
Sorry about the interview but glad you feel positive about the fact you're working!

Donna, glad all the family are up to par again!! Sounds like your new work is very keeping you very busy. Hope your weigh in goes well tomorrow evening.

I've had a manual day...phase 2 of shifting furniture and cleaned the whole house...as you do!
I really like the way we've moved around the furniture in the lounge now...more spacious. It took me a while to convince Joseph it was a good idea!!

Well done Chrisin for the weight loss and all those Fitness Minutes this morning. And Jackie, MADEINBRITAIN sorry to hear the job news but great you are being positive about already having a job.
I have had a great day today. Spo pleased that everyone is healthy enough to be back at school and work. My work has been really interesting today, two interesting meetings and just have to put all these plans into action in my role. Need to write myself some notes soon. Glad its sunny here too. emoticon
Love to you all emoticon

Thank you MadeinBritain and congratulations to you on completing a half marathon. WOW I cannot even run for a bus. Never was good at running. even at school.
I'm sorry you did not get the job but as you say you are working full time and something else will turn up I am sure.
Just been for 30 minute swim and 80 minute walk but seriously in need of a rest now so have got my feet up and browsing SP site on laptop. until lunch in 30mins. I really put extra effort into swimming this morning which was easy as the pool was not so crowded.
Hope all the slimming world sparkers are having a really good day.

I periodically get the munchies too DI_NAMIC........ for no apparent reason. Just have to go with it and try to get back on plan asap.
Didn't get the job in a prestigious upmarket store in central London. Not too worried as lucky enough to be working full time anyway.
Completed a half marathon yesterday emoticon which I am SO proud of. It was really tough (didn't help that I'd done no training whatsoever!) but I did it! emoticon
Have a great day team!

emoticon 2lb off recorded today despite my blip on Friday night and the fact that I did not swim or walk as was caring for a young lad. Having said that - he certainly kept me on my toes emoticon
Hopefully next week will see that first (stones) number decrease emoticon
I do envy Monna for being so creative. The only thing I ever create is a mess! My mum was a fantastic knitter and took in orders from family and friends and she could dress make too. Sadly she never managed to teach me even though she tried very hard to.
Welll done Monna for being on track again and having a good result.
Janet, I have been a respite carer for just 8 years when I started to lessen my working hours gradually so that retirement would not be such a shock.
The work is rewarding but hard both emotionally and physically at times and patience is definitely the main requisite.
I am so pleased that your tests seem to have produced positive results.
I have to see Dr this week to discuss the results of my blood test for cholesterol and show her my BP diary. I have a hospital bone scan booked on Wednesday.
I wish all here a really good week

Hi everyone...relaxing day here for me and 100% on plan! Can't be bad!!

Irene...thanks the reception was lovely but as we said, cake can be disappointing.
When I look at recipes I just substitute or omit things I don't eat...eg certain spices or pasta etc.
Maybe you can look at them again and get some inspiration.

Donna...hope you all get well very soon...those bugs do the rounds at home as well as work & schools!!

Chris, I was thinking you sound like you're a respite carer...have you been doing that for long?
Wishing you much success for your weigh in tomorrow!!

oh Donna what rotten luck. Hope everything will improve from now on. These bugs really do the rounds once one of the family gets sick.
We have had a good time with our young guest with us for respite care. We all still learning about each other and given his disabilities it will take a little time but we are getting there.
Weigh in for me tomorrow. I hope the scales are kind.

Its been a horrid weekend, my son went to my parents on Friday as he was sick but he shared it - generous child and my hubbie had it yesterday and my daughter and I've just spent the weekend feeling exhausted.

Great to hear everyone is doing much more fun things than me. Sending emoticon and best wishes to you all x

Janet you did very well at the wedding reception, a slice of wedding cake is allowed. Yes don't wedding cakes vary now cupcakes it just about anything. No keeping the top layer for the christening now!
Taking of food. I bought latest SW mag looking for ideas, what the theme ? Thai spicy food, what have I to avoid eating? Spicy food
,
Doing a small fresh chicken today os slow cooker plus lots of veg and maybe slimmers roast potato just one. Enjoy your meal . Irene

So I saw the doctor yesterday for my B/T results...thyroid is out of sync so meds are upped for 3 months and then a retest. Maybe it will lower my 7.2 cholesterol? Evidently the HDL is a little low, Triglycerides normal, LDL normal. Doesn't sound too much to worry about to me.

Last night was a nice evening at my nephew's wedding reception. It was good to chat to lots of people I don't see very often. I met my niece's boyfriend and he was very nice. Foodwise...had a small piece of chocolate wedding cake, why don't these youngsters have rich fruit cake anymore? And a few nibbles...nothing bad. I stayed with sugar free lemonade to drink.

Back on plan tomorrow for me emoticon

Jackie, hope the interview went well and they don't keep you waiting too long for the results.

Oh yes Diana...1 stone off makes a huge difference in how our clothes fit. Good for you!! And glad you're back on plan again now.

Chris you're right, what's done is done, we just move on! Hope today has been much better for you.

Hi Mona...yes I know what a rough year you've had and glad you're getting back to the SW plan again. I know you will work hard to get those pounds off again.
Great idea to keep your hands busy during the evening...you will soon reap the benefits of that with your quilting projects.
My weigh in last week was 1/2lb up but that was fine because I'm still 2.5lbs under target. I have about 5 or 6 weeks to go to receive my Diamond Award...if I continue to stay in target range....you have to do that for one year.

Irene, hope you're doing alright at the moment and sleeping better too.
