You're doing well...keeping on keeping on Irene.
emoticon to you both. How many years are you celebrating?

The weather here for the weekend is a disappointment...no sun to be seen!!
Thankfully I'm staying on plan even if I did make oat biscuits and choc chip muffins today for Joseph and the grandchildren of course!!

Hello on Friday, one week after my birthday indulgences, I gained 3 lbs . But realised its a temporary blip. I have now lost that 3 lbs so it's back to my routine meals and exercise, but it's our anniversary this week! I shall try to keep it low key ,
I have learned not to panic if the scales show an increase,
We all plod on. Have a healthy weekend. Irene

Irene glad you had some nice celebrations for your birthday...I know it's often food related but just once a year. Mine was just the same...lol

Tina, good to hear your husband is recovering from the eye surgery. Was it just one eye? does he need to have the other one done, or maybe it's already been done?
Well done you for another 1lb off....and oh so close to the 1.5 stone award...exciting!! I remember getting mine too.

I weighed this week and was 1/2lb down...I really am trying to get down a little more instead of being at the high end of target range. So I'll just work at it...

Hope everyone else is doing well and that we all have a good bank holiday w/e. Let's hope the weather is nice and sunny.

Hi all
My husband finally had his cataract surgery yesterday and seems to be recovering well. We've just returned from a nice walk on our local common, only a couple of miles but very enjoyable.
I lost another pound this week - that 1.5 stones sticker is getting a little closer each week - maybe next week emoticon

Another Monday means another new start for me. My birthday week took me right off track ! Not just ine day,one Neal! Oh no it went on over a few days as different members of the family did things involving food.
Can't go on I decided. Today I took the first step. I threw out the rest of my birthday cake, I do find it hard to throw food out. But it needs using up now and past its best , so hoping throwing that out is step one for me in my new start !
Have a good week , Irene emoticon

emoticon Irene...have a wonderful celebration. It only comes once a year so make the most of it I say!!

I did go to group yesterday to weigh all the members but didn't weigh myself. Decided to leave it another week and do more work.
I feel my eating is good and on plan but maybe all the antibiotics I had during April has had an effect on my system...not sure?
I've been feeling quite tired and sleeping really well...for a change!
I saw the physio today and she gave me three exercises to do. She said that indeed the ligaments need strengthening, as I thought, said I had nice high arches....I took that as a plus!!

Hello on Monday looking back at posts a few things jumped out. Birthdays it's mine this week, I know of three social occasions for it involving food ! I think all we can do is accept it but not use it as a chance to pig out on everything,
Food diaries, I am not good on keeping them either,
I am looking at my exercise routine, it's my own version 3 different sets I have devised from past classes , from magazines ,TV etc, but all suit me. I think I was too used to them, doing them without thinking. So started to note what I was doing , push a bit harder and concentrate on getting the breathing right.
No change in my weight this week, I plod onl. Have a good week. Irene

Oh Mona...I'm so with you there about going off plan with our birthdays! I've found it hard too to get back on track again but I know you'll do it! I miss seeing you post about how you're doing.

Tina...good challenge to keep a food diary! "If you bite it, write it!!"

Hi everyone. I am still here but have been spring cleaning and not much time at the computer. Got off track with birthdays and now once again struggling to get back. But I will. Still doing the online but haven't checked in for three weeks. Need to get with it.

Good to see you are all doing well! Where are you and Ralph off to this time?

Take care and hoping to be more consistent. Hugs!!

I think I shot myself in the foot last evening. Went to be weighed and had lost 0.5lb in 2 weeks and said that I had lost that much (0.5lb) in the last five weeks!
emoticon
So then our NEW consultant asked me if I would be prepared to write a food diary (my biggest nightmare - I start each morning and it never gets past breakfast emoticon ) for the next 2 weeks.
This is probably the kick up the *** that I need though.
Only 8 weeks to our holiday in France now

Nice to see you back Cathy

Had a lovely day in Llandudno yesterday at the seaside. We were so lucky with the weather. after Sunday's torrential rain we were blessed with warmth and sunshine so it was just tee shirt weather no coats. Today now we are home its been back to heavy showers and strong winds in between small bouts of sunshine.

emoticon Cathy, good to hear from you again.I'm sure you'll be able to deal with the extra pounds. Please come back when you can.

Poor you Tina...not good when bugs are shared around. Glad you're starting to feel better now.

Today we did shopping at several supermarkets. I was so hungry when I got home that it was all I could do not to free fall into something naughty! I settled for a banana & a few grapes!
Weigh in tomorrow...not sure how that will go but I have to do it.

I didn't even venture out today. I'm still on my mission to catch up with chores that have needed doing for a long time. That's what happens because I've been out of action!
So oven cleaned, house blitzed and today the freezer defrosted. I think that may be the end of catch up!!

Well done Sue for getting back on plan...I actually think I feel better than eating rubbish!!

Bit warmer and sun here this morning, they give cold and wet again the next few days so making the most of it. Have potted on 50 tomato plants and got them back on the windowsill and they look happier already, will do the peppers next week when they are a little bigger.

Got back on plan properly 2 days ago and can feel it working already, as you say Janet, we know it works, lol

Enjoy your Monday, some reading for me as Ralph is at work

Morning all, what a horrible wet day, was hoping to get my tomatoes and peppers planted on into bigger pots, but no chance, not standing out in that, not lucky enough to have a greenhouse, so have to do it outside.

Same old same old here, hubby at work of course all over the Bank holiday, finishes Tuesday night, but at least he then gets his 4 days off. After we have voted we will go out for the day somewhere, maybe Chatsworth and if it is fine walk around the fields and hills there, take some sarnies and a flask

Irene, you will be retaining water, that is why it is wise not to weigh every day, now if only I could stop hopping on and off the scales, lol
Just keep sticking to your plan and it will all come out in the wash emoticon

Just 3 weeks tomorrow until we go away, hope it has warmed up by then!

Have a good Sunday and BH Monday

A wet and cool Sunday looks like a bank hol at home, I hope you are all doing well, I am plodding on with sw eating and my daily excercise, I got weighed yesterday and had stayed the same 11 13. . But today is my weekly weighin, I couldn't believe it was 5 lb up from yesterday, impossible , so I am ignoring that as a temporary blip. I had lunch out yesterday but chose parsnip soup with a wholemeal salad roll . Can't see that added 5 pounds , I shall stay positive as I got to my 4th week, Have a good week , Irene

Quiet on here....how's everyone doing? Any plans for the bank holiday w/e?

I saw the doctor yesterday and she said my chest was sounding much better, so pleased about that. Added that the cough will take a couple more weeks to go completely. She said she'd chase the xray results so I'll call tomorrow for those.

Well I'm still working on the w/e bloat...down 3 1/4lbs and just really hoping I can go to another group and weigh tomorrow...if not will definitely be on Wednesday.
I had a call from the physio dept re my ankle...will be seen on May 14.

Hi everyone...had a trip to Birmingham for the w/e, work for Joseph, home yesterday very tired so been chilling today. Well along with the washing and cooking of course!

Sue...I didn't weigh last week, and am not changing groups but we can weigh in anywhere that suits us. I shan't weigh tomorrow either...next week is my 4th week so shall have to then.
My lung still doesn't seem clear, still coughing some so seeing the doctor tomorrow...xray results still no back though. I'm just finishing the 4th course of antibiotics.

Irene...you're doing great...little by little is the way to go.

Tina, sorry your husband has all those health problems. This weather really doesn't help the chest does it.

We are both fine thanks Tina. Was going to have a quiet day yesterday but as the sun was shining something took me over and I was everything that didn't move, was lovely get everything out on the line and dry in the sun. In the afternoon I then ended up hedge cutting and boy did I know it last night as everything ached, however on the plus side I must have burned some calories off. Another lovely day today but apart from a bit of ironing and hoovering its a day in the sun reading for me.

Hi Sue
He does sometimes, but has loads of meds for his asthma including daily steroids (which he has taken for the last 30+ years), inhalers etc - although he does seem to be affected by pollen over the last few years. I think this is a head-cold, hopefully it won,t lay on his chest.
He seemed to enjoy our walk yesterday. It is such a beautiful place.
Thanks for thinking of him x

We walked around Virginia Water lake yesterday. it's just under 4 miles. We stopped a few times to take in the scenery, so it took us 108 minutes.... I've found a natty little app for my phone "MapMyWalk" and it gives loads of useless information like that, and a map of where you've walked. as if you didn't know emoticon

Keith is under the weather at the mo, hopefully it won't develop into too much, always a concern with his asthma. His cataract operation has been delayed to 19th May as he's opted for a general anaesthetic. So it looks as though our planned break to Dorset probably won't happen now - oh well! c'est la vie!!

Janet, so sorry to hear you are still poorly - hope you're back "in the pink" soon.

Have a fab weekend all.

Chilly down south too but at least the sun was shining.
I had to see the doctor again because since stopping the 2nd lot of antibiotics last Thursday for the pneumonia I've started coughing again! She sent me straight to the hospital for an urgent x-ray and a heftier dose of a different antibiotic. She said the lung is still quite bad. I'm not feeling good so hope they kick in quickly so I'm well enough to go away this w/e!!

Keep going everyone...!!

It's nice here weatherwise, nice clear blue sky and not cold. Hope the weather warms up for you all.
We're off to the hospital this afternoon for Keith's pre-op appointment.
Yesterday we had our house-group and there were 16 of us (gulp) I cooked a chicken pasta bake and a chilli, potato wedges, rice and four other veg - not very Slimming World friendly, but I have to do it on a budget. I managed to pass on the cake for dessert though

Have a great Monday

Brrrr, got up to fog and cold, shiver, hope it lifts and we can get some sun. Not going out, but we were hoping to go into the garden, and get some jobs done

Janet, only passed through Shanklin on our way to Sandown, but it looks very pretty, lots of interesting shops as well.

Doing a roast chicken dinner today, so will be thinking it is Sunday all day, lol

See you later

Thanks Sue-O....yes the I.O.W. was indeed good weather! We stayed in Shanklin and can recommend the hotel there.
Hope the prawn curry was enjoyed by you both.

Irene....that was a good loss for the week! I'd certainly be happy if it were me. I have a lot of hard work to get into some kind of scales shape before I can weigh in!!

Sue....sounds like you're enjoying your new post at work. That's always a bonus.

We've had nice sunshine down south today but a sharp wind for sure...not that I've been out.

Hi Sue, so glad you enjoyed your days off together, yes back on the wagon now, lol

I am making prawn curry with a couple of pan fried scallops on the side, just got up and fancied fish, lol Ralph loves fish so he will be happy when he gets home tonight. Still waiting to find out if he has to go in on Tuesday, fingers crossed for not!

For some reason when doing lots of cleaning I haven't had my fitbit on, but now it is only coming off when I shower, lol

Morning all.

The sun has disappeared again, oh well, was good while it lasted. I washed everything in sight, bedding, curtains etc and got all dry. I cleaned the bedrooms and washed the upstairs windows. Was up and down stairs and up and down the garden with washing and clocked up 16,734 steps, and 7.66 miles, wow, better than when we go out. Better keep the fitbit on for all my cleaning lol

Irene, a loss is a loss, and well done you emoticon

Janet, welcome home, where did you stay? We love the I O W, and have always had good weather there.

Quiet day today I think, just cooking and got a new book I want to start, lol, earned it yesterday.

Have a great Sunday emoticon

Week one just finished, I generally stuck to my eating plan ,
Unfortunately I have had a run of very. bad nights with little sleep. that has thrown my morning exercises out. Makes me tired and grumpy by day but I haven't turned to food or alcohol for comfort.
I have lost one and half pounds this week, , I had hoped for more , don't we always but it's better than nothing, I will plod on . How are you all doing ? Irene

My steps on some days are good, but I'm not that consistent on achieving 10,000 each day - on Thursday I managed 15,000; I walked around Virginia Water Lake, in Surrey which is around 5 miles, a beautiful walk - really encouraged me to try and do that once or twice a week!

Finally got my crown on my tooth - ouch......£468.50 - oh well, it had to be done emoticon

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Thanks Donna, have been moving last few days have hit my steps target, but I really need to move that target up, lol

Hubby at work has his days off Mon to Thurs this time, although looks like he will be in on Tuesday!!! Fettling the kitchen today, cupboards etc and finishing off with the floor,so that should all be some good stretching and bending.
I saw a prg the other day about calories, and they followed 3 groups of people, one group did nothing, one group went to the gym for 3 hours and one group did housework for 3 hours and they then tested them. The group who did housework had used up more calories than the gym bunnies! Maybe not always best for steps, but great for burning calories.

See you later hope you all have a good weekend

Thanks for support, I planned my daily meals yesterday and stuck to it. My dh loves peeling and cutting potatoes and veg, so I got him to do veg yesterday. Carrots leek, celery one sweet potato, I had half a plate full with chicken at lunch,
. Eariy evening, the cooked veg went in a frying pan ,I poured two eggs and herbs over, for a veg omlette , I had berry fruits with sorbet for dessert, I didn't feel deprived and was not hungry all day. A good start for day I of my new start,
Have a good week. Irene

Hi everyone...and thanks so much for the good wishes for my coming birthday and better health!
We're off for a few days to the IOW on Tuesday morning and can't wait. Hope the weather will be alright too...13 degrees isn't exactly a heatwave in my book but as long as we don't get rain it will be good.

Mona, wishing you a happy birthday too on the 15th!! It's lovely we share the same day every year!! Have a blessed day. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Well done Irene, for getting back on track and starting a plan. It's really hard isn't it when you are feeling a bit below par to be able to eat right.
12lbs in a year isn't irreversible - you can do it.

Back again a week later, it's yet another new start today. I have been feeling low and maybe doing comfort eating, avoiding the scales too. Today I decided I cannot slip any further down the slippery path . I got weighed ,yes a bit up from my last weigh in. But looking back I have put around 12 lbs on in past year . I did planning today and started a new start diary, wish me luck. I will be back for advice and help please. Irene

Woke up to torrential rain and wind here too Sue, lets hope it gets it out of the way today for your trip tomorrow, everything is crossed. Dave is at work and has taken the car, I was going walk into town and do a bit of shopping but not in this I won't, its only a 10 min walk but I will drown, what a contrast to yesterday. We always take food and drinks with us when we go on coach trips too object to paying expensive prices.

Well, the weather broke here, got up to rain. They give it for tomorrow for our day trip to the Lakes, so hoping it has come a day early, lol

Got back on track yesterday, and have started cooking our food to take on the bus tomorrow. Making breakfast muffins, which are good anytime, lol and some SW sausages, will also take fruit, some bread for Ralph and crackerbread for me as healthy extras. Have a couple of bottles of water and will take a flask of boiling water for tea, sorted.

Was going to go to Chesterfield while Ralph is sleeping off his nightshift, and get my hair cut, but will wait and have it done on Tuesday on way back from parents.

Have a good weekend

Hi All
Irene – I didn’t get any Easter goodies, had hoped maybe for some flowers, but alas no!!

Sue-O Don’t despair my friend, one consultant that I had said that if you have “one good food optimising day” it will get you back on track. Just need to get our mind into the right place with some positive vibes, and then we should be ok

Sue-M It was nice and sunny here and Keith and I went for a nice walk of 10,000 steps (3.8 miles) it was lovely

What a glorious day it is and is supposed be hottest day of the year today too, already have the bedding out on the line bet it will dry in no time. Going to potter about outside today maybe do a bit of gardening and certainly lots of reading, may as well make the most of the lovely weather especially as I am lucky enough to be on my days off.

Not doing well with the walking but have been gardening and housework while the sun is out.
Food hit and miss and not losing.

Tina, hopefully your mouth is healing quickly and you can get back to normal emoticon

Expecting a parcel today or tomorrow, wanted some more crinkle crop trousers for summer, only place I could get some long enough was Damart, lol, they are 21" length instead of 19" length in other places, hoping they look good. Crinkle is so comfy and lightweight for summer, worn all my others out, getting very thin.

Sorry about the gain for you Tina...hope your mouth soon feels more comfortable for you.

Thankfully I was down just 1/2lb and still well in my target range so happy about that.

Hope everyone else is doing well not that the Easter goodies are passed.

Well not a great weigh-in for me, I gained another 2lbs. Not unexpected, my mouth has been so sore and I've been eating whatever I didn't need to chew!! Cereal was a breeze, so I overdosed a bit on Healthy Extras.
Still it's on the mend now and much more comfortable. I did a 4.5 mile walk to burn some calories.

No Easter goodies in my house either...best way really where I'm concerned!!

I'm not sure about weighing in this week as may have a funeral to attend on Wednesday in London...Joseph's brother in-law passed away on Friday. Of course I could find another morning group...? Next week I shall be in the Isle of Wight (celebrating my birthday!) so will miss that one too!

Irene...good for you planning some batch cooking for your meals. I'm not into ready meals so can't comment on their taste etc.

Sue...well done Ralph for not buying the choc egg for you...who needs them!
Just taken the last antibiotic...just need the rest of the cough to go now!

Happy Easter Sunday

As promised I have just had one hot cross bun and they are all gone, with family being round, and hubby stuck to his word and didn't buy me an egg...he has one of course, lol

Irene, sorry to hear you have been down, but knowing how hard it is for dad, I understand, good days and bad days. Good idea to make your own meals and freeze if you can, we really need to swap our fridge for a fridge freezer to help out the freezer we have, will look in the Easter sales, oh yes, they have those as well lol

Janet, hoping the last antibiotics do the job.

Hope you all have a great Sunday, Ralph is working, as is Sue M I think, so not too great for them

hugs

Happy Easter Sunday it's a week since I was here, sorry but that life ,I can't plan ahead I do what I can,
I was reading how difficult it is to lose weight when older. Tell me about it' the Sparks articlr is for weight lifting ! Not for me I have weak wrist and thinning bones. I am thinking healthy eating some daily exercises I can cope with is about the best I can do.
When iwas very low in spirit recently I did very littkr cooking and bought in ready meals. WW. ones 4 for £5 in Iceland shop tempted me plus others , but they are poor substitutes for real food.
I am feeling better now so will keep a few ready meals in the freezer but am using slow cooker a lot . Double up in quantities eat one freeze one. Did a big pan of Turkey mince with all sorts of healthy extras in yesterday , very nice too with mash and more veg, there's enough left for. Spag Bol and some to go in a baked potato too,
I have not had an easter egg or anything given to me. That's ok. How are you all coping with .easter goodies ? Irene

Hi everyone,
Just got one more day of antibiotics and then I hope I shall feel a lot better. I've actually been up most of the day and cooked lunch so that is some improvement. It's such a chore not being 100% but happens to us all I suppose.

Happy Easter and maybe some sunshine?

Strange that Sue, you're the second person that's asked if my sore tongue is stopping me from talking!! You'll be pleased to hear that it doesn't, bit of a problem eating though.
I am really looking forward to France, but sorry to be away when you're in Bournemouth, as it's only an hour or so from us, and I would have seized the opportunity to meet up.
emoticon
We've been to church this morning, and joined the walk of witness which ends up with refreshments, hot cross buns included - you will be impressed to hear that I didn't have one even though my hubby scoffed two

Morning all

Sue, that Dave is very wise and he is right, shhh, don't let him get a swollen head lol

Tina, so pleased you got the tooth sorted and now to let the tongue heal...will tha mean stopping talking? emoticon emoticon emoticon
Yes, going off to France just to avoid us when we are in Bournemouth charming, lol

Of course we are going to Cornwall as well and that is only 7 weeks on Monday, how did that get here so quickly, hope it warms up lol

Janet, hope you are feeling a bit better, those coughs hang on for ever don't they?

Well, we haven't seen Emma since Boxing day so I rang on Wed and asked if we could have her and son said he would ask the boss, lol and yesterday Emma rang and said she can't wait, so she is coming this morning, told her grandad is at work and won't be home until around 6.20 and she said fine, she is a grandads girl, but we can have some girlie time, looking forward to it, but feel we may be shattered at the end of it, although as she is nearly 12 she is able to look after herself but loves coming here as she is given attention all the time, she reverts to a 6 yo here lol.
Her other grandparents live on the farm as well so they treat her as normal as she is there all the time, a treat for us all when she is with us.

Have a great Easter everyone, be careful with eggs and hot cross buns

Had to apply for a new job Tina as they closed the information desk and we were all out of work I was one the lucky ones we all applied for other jobs but out of 16 only 3 of us got another job. I am really enjoying myself and we will just have to manage and know we will its just a shame they got rid of a service that we all think is still needed.

I am so thankful that I was able to get into the dentist this morning and the offensive bit of filling has gone. She said I had broken a bit of the filling which had left the jagged edge, it was like a needle. Just need for my tongue to heal now.
Sue-M I hadn't realised you had changed roles. Good to hear that you are enjoying it and hey ho, you get used to having a reduced income. I think ours now is about half of what we had when we worked, but as long as you enjoy life... that's what counts.
We are going to France in July with another couple this time, to a gite in Normandy, a new experience for all of us, but it sounds really nice. Only 14 weeks now and at 1lb a week, maybe I can shoot another stone off..watch this space.

Yes Mona am still at the airport just doing a different job.
Sue there is no stress at all so am much much happier in myself. Dave says we are life rich so don't need to be penny rich bless him. I just feel glad to have a job I enjoy there are people out there much worse off than me with no job at all.
Tina ouch hate bits of jagged tooth . Glad Keith got a date for his op and you will be able get away. Are you off to France this year too?

Morning all

Sue, so pleased you are loving your new job, the money is a shame, but being happy = less stress hopefully.

Tina, that jagged piece of tooth can be nasty on the tongue, hopefully sorted soon.

Mona, I am so sorry about Megan's dog as well, so sad. They buried Mushroom on the farm, Glyn insisted on digging the hole himself and then he and his fil and Emma went to bury her. Charis couldn't go, too upset. She said Emma came back and said " Dad and Grandad cried, but I held it together" bittersweeet words.

Hey Mona, don't you be leaving those chocolate eggs in here emoticon need an icon with a wagging finger lol

Expecting a home shop between 9 and 10 this morning, so better get some work done before they get here

see you all later emoticon

Had our Easter get together last night. What fun. Cooper hunted for Easter eggs and then we colored eggs. Three year olds really get into it. Ella just slept~~at three weeks she wasn't at all interested. emoticon

Sue~~That is so sad about Emma's dog. We just went through that too. Megan's golden lab went out for her nightly duty and heard something in the bushes. She started to run and shattered her lower spine. They were so thankful Cooper was sleeping. It has been sad for them~~but she was old as well. You are doing awesome!!

SueM~~Are you not working at the airport any more??

Janet~~so sorry to see you have been ill. Hopefully those antibiotics get you well quickly!! You can't be sick on our birthday!!

Donna~~thank you for thinking of me. That was really sweet and means a lot.

Everyone have a great day and if I don't get back until Monday I wish you all a happy and blessed Easter!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Sue-M, I should want to associate with you if you didn't have any teeth at all

My tongue is so sore, the dentist has left a tiny jagged edge on the tooth to be filled, and my tongue is catching on it - ouch!!
Keith has a date for his cataract surgery - 28th April, so it looks like we may get away for a week in May. We're planning on Corfe Castle this year
Have a good week all.

Have just started my 4 days off Sue so will be back on days on Easter Sunday but I really don't mind we wouldn't be going anywhere anyway. I also don't mind as am absolutely loving my new job and as a bonus I work with a gret team of people. OK so the money is rubbish but we will survive, I am happy and I actually look forward to going to work so fate obviously happens for a reason.

Tina when I next meet you will I see you there will be so much less of you!! Brilliant how you are doing, am envious to say the least. Will you want to associate with me with your gold gnashers and me with my lowly white crowns lol.

Glad you are both well.

The last two days we have had gale force winds, heavy showers, hale and even a bit of sleety snow and it has been bitterly cold. On way to work on Monday saw a caravan and thought how sad they are obviously taking kids away for Easter as they have broken up and looks like the weather will be dreadful. I know we have had snow before at Easter but is it just me looking through rose tinted glasses but when I was a child am sure Easter was always sunny and lovely.

Dave and I are going have a lazy afternnon I think, I have just put some washing in but thats all I am going to do. He starts back on nights tomorrow and I am going have acouple evening just curled up reading I think, something I havn't done for a little while.

Morning all, was lovely when I got up, but raining again now, the showers come so suddenly. I went to the dustbin yesterday, only a few steps from the door and got bounced on the head with hailstones, was sunny when I went out the door, lol

Janet, hope you feel better soon, those chest infections can be horrible, keep warm and plenty of liquids.

Tina, great loss this week emoticon , and gold teeth coming, wow, will you still talk to us? emoticon emoticon

Donna, how are things with you? Thinking of you.

Sue, how are you doing, back at work I guess now, are you off for Easter? Ralph was supposed to finish at 6pm Good Friday for 4 days, but someone booked a day off so he has to go in on Easter Sunday as well, boo. Not that we would be going anywhere, but still....
As long as he is off the following Sunday to go to the Lake District.

Got a lot of cleaning done yesterday and the ironing, today is kitchen cleaning and then sorting clothes for the air ambulance charity bags. Been trying stuff on and all the clothes that are way too big are going so I can't gain a lot back now, or I won't have anything to wear, lol

See you later emoticon

Good news for me this evening 4.5lbs loss. I was delighted with that.

We have a new consultant starting next week, we met her last week and she seemed very nice. Apparently she was a member at our group, before becoming a consultant.

Janet I hope you are soon feeling better, there's many nasty bugs around just now.

Sue...in case you really want to know how many syns in a hot cross bun I checked for you...
Hot cross bun ( each ) 9½
Well done to you and Ralph on the weigh loss for this year so far.

Tina, hope you weigh in is a good one. I assume you have a new/stand in consultant taking over?

Mona...good for you still going strong with the plan. Have a lovely Easter with your family and yes, we all need to keep a tight rein on the foodies!!

I'm laid up with a chest infection but thankfully the antibiotics have made me feel more human today...had a nice visit from Matt during his lunch break and later this afternoon from Sarah. Feeling very loved and cared for.
No weigh in for me this week though.

So sorry Sue-O to hear of your son's dog - it's so hard when we have shared our lives with our much loved animals for so long and then we have to say goodbye. The only consolation that we have, is that they are out of their suffering.
I went to the dentist this morning - somehow I have managed to crack a crown and there was decay inside - I don't think I have ever had such a huge filling and drilling. Back on the 17th to be fitted with a shiny new "yellow gold" crown. So Sue-M next time we meet, I shall be a much wealthier woman.
emoticon
Our consultant is leaving this evening, after 12 years at this class... probably be some teary people there. We're having a food tasting and as we speak I have a SW curry loaf in the oven to take with me. I've never tried one before, but keep seeing it within the SW recipes on different forums, so am going to give it a whirl
emoticon
As for this evening, I'm hoping to have shifted some of the 5lbs that I gained last week - will let you know.
Have a great evening everyone

Some sad news yesterday, both my sons have dogs, elder son has 2 and younger son 1. She died yesterday, the vet had to come out, she hasn't eaten for while, they have tried to tempt her with stuff and even blended meat and gravy. She was with them about 6 months before Emma was born, and Emma is 12 this July, so an old lady really and had gone grey bless her. I expect in time they will get another but we will see, they are devastated at the moment, such a big part of the family and always so good with Emma, you can imagine the change when she was born and Emma used to pull her about as she was learning to walk etc and Mushroom was so patient with her.

Morning all, bit stormy here today brr. Pleased we went to dads yesterday while it was fine.

Mona, 3lbs a week is still pretty amazing, that is 156lbs a year more than you need to lose emoticon

The bit I regained has gone so working on getting lower again, I have found if you have a blip and put on quickly as long as you get right back on it, before it has time to 'stick' it comes off pretty quick as well.

Have planned for all the Easter treats, told hubby no egg for me, ordered some Hot Cross buns but will freeze and just have one every few days and that should count as my syns as long as I can find out how many syns they are. Just basic buns, no choc or apple etc just basic ones. Why have they made the fancy ones anyway?
We are having leg of lamb which can be quite fatty but will trim as much as I can from my portion.

Doing okay now, I have lost 10lbs since New Year and hubby has lost 11lbs, so we are happy with that.

Day of cleaning today, well tomorrow as well, hubby back on days today so want to get a handle on the housework and sort some clothes out for the charity shop as well.

See you later

Finally learned to download my phone pics. But I don't know if I can remember what I did. Oh well, maybe by the time I have more pics I'll remember. ( emoticon )

Looks like a great week ahead. We are doing Easter Dinner tomorrow night as Lori, Dave, Nicole, Ken and family are going to the British Virgin Islands for spring break. I am going to try really hard to just eat a small amount of everything so I don't blow my week.

Sue~~I WISH I lost six pounds in a week, but that is two weeks because last week was not too good. I am learning to get back without going on and on. Hoping to be down four more pounds by my birthday and that will give me 10 pounds. Glad things are a bit more settled with Mum!! Give Pops a hug from me when you next see him!!

Finally doing some walking too. Plan to really use the pool to walk when it gets a bit warmer. We do have an 80 showing for next week but the nights get really cold so think I will just do my short walks for two or three more weeks.

Take care everyone and if I don't get back until after Easter I wish you all a happy, blessed, sunny day. Hugs!! emoticon

Catch up on Sunday I am pleased to see the chat room getting busy,
I am plodding on, I am full time carer now to my husband so my days revolve round that, I can't have a rigid routine . But 1st March I promised myself to do done exercise each day, it may only be five minutes but I did sone daiky.
I want to carry that in adding something extra in April. we are told how important water is so my April plan is drink a glass full before each meal as well as top ups over the day. Small steps work for me , have a good week. Irene

Glad everything sorted for mum Sue should the time come, and that your BP is down. Some restful quiet nights for you whilst Ralph is at work. Woke up to pouring rain today but starting to ease now hope will stop soon as I must walk down into town, things to get. Such a change to yesterday when got all bedding and other washing blowing beautifully on the line. You are like us with your bus day trips Sue we love them, our next is the 1940's weekend in May. We went about 5 years ago and stayed in a cottage in the heart of the village it was an amazing weekend so really looking forward to it again, hopefully the sun will be shining by then. Not breakfasted or dressed yet so better get myself motivated.

Morning all, been missing a few days.
Gained back a little, will leave tracker this week to see if I can get it back down. Been at parents a lot and not done much walking or eating properly.
Had the assessment for mum on Tuesday, went well and things are in place should we need to move her quickly. Since she recovered from the virus, she has been back to 'normal' whatever that is, lol
Also they are sending the Occupational Therapist...waiting list but marked as urgent.... to see what can be done to improve access in and out of the house. Dad just paid for new steps at the front, so instead of 2 deep steps they have 3 shallow ones. First test will be the 9th of April when she has a hospital appt!

Had my B12 jab yesterday and also my bp done and thankfully is down to 128/88 which for me is wonderful and certainly better than the 200/94 at the hospital, 3 weeks ago.

Tina, pleased you had a good time and we are going to Bournemouth in July just Sun to Thursday.
Have Cornwall before that at the end of May.

Had a day trip on Sunday to Blue Planet Aquarium, it was a lovely place but I was expecting it to be bigger from the website, but a lovely day though.

Next day trip planned and paid for on 12th April to the Lake District, including a steam train and boat ride. So hope this snow has gone, yes we got up to snow today. Well I got up to snow, hubby on nights so he trudged home in it, seems it is turning to rain now, so hoping it will be gone by tonight.

Hi guys, I love hearing about holidays! Wish I had one planned sooner than the summer. however I am SO lucky thatI work in a school rather than a PROPER JOB and have two weeks off and I am really looking forward to it.

I lost 1lb this week, however am not quite at target emoticon This week I will get it sorted. Am drinking more water and low cal juice and think it will help. emoticon

Glad you enjoyed yourself Tina...I think it's very hard to stay on plan when we're away, after all it's all about enjoying yourself too. I shall be away in 20days time....can't wait!!

I had a gain this week....but thankfully still in target range...that's the game to stay put!! Onwards to April...!!!

Thanks Sue - hotel was really nice, and we didn't hear one negative comment about it - not bad eh, considering there were 73 in our party!!

I'm fine with the weight gain, as I expected it and am back on track and focused today (which was my real fear) - so am on a mission to get shot of the excess asap.

Only 14 weeks to France!!

Down 6 pounds. Had a crazy weekend with family here to see the baby. I tried but was not totally successful with my eating. Back on track!!

Busy week. I had an appointment with my cardiologist yesterday and taking a friend to have out patient surgery today. Then Bible study tomorrow and lunch with another friend on Thurs. Plan on having a nice big salad with grilled chicken. An apple for dessert!!

Hope everyone is doing well. Can't believe Sunday is palm Sunday and then Easter. Lori and Dave and Nicole, Ken and family are going to the British Virgin Islands for Spring break and Krista and Tony are skiing in Montreal so we are doing our Easter dinner this Sunday. There is a great movie on Easter night so I will probably just fix something lite and watch the movie~~follow up to last year's Life of Christ.

I like the online SW for tracking and finding out syns values for foods. Some of them have surprised me!! This really is the best program for me.

Have a great day everyone. Hugs to all!!

Ah bless your heart Irene. I know it's hard to balance caring for your husband as well as yourself but you are doing your best and will make lots of progress. You are right to be eating more to avoid the snacking...I've had to learn that lesson too!

That's great Janet that older people still go to groups, the local one is evening, I find it easier now to go out by day, I looked at on line membership but I have that here with you all! Decided to try alone, I was looked at weeks menu and thought what a lot is in their plates. Ah ha . I have been cutting down in general , so my meals are small then I get hungry and pick between meals ! Now I am adding more free foods to my plate and avoiding snacks.
Also when I cook a main meal I do extra to freeze single portions.
I have crept up over 11 stones , so promising myself a reward when I get to 11 and another when 10 starts showing on the dial again,
I look after my husband ,that has to be priority but I must look after myself too,, have a good week .

Oh Irene what a shame you didn't feel part of the group. We have several older people, I'm talking 70+ and one man is 88 this year. He drives away in his car like it's a Ferrari!! lol.
Mona is an online member so maybe she can tell you some of the benefits...I know it's SW USA though.

Been just the normal shopping etc time for me, nothing dynamic! I really want my weigh in to be at least a STS this coming week. I did such a huge hike up over mothers day and you all know how hard it is to move the scales back down again! But I'm determined to do it!!

Hope you're all having some Spring weather in your part of the country!

The eclipse was not spectacular in the Midlands either , what superb pics on tv though ,
I am looking at SW on line , I can't get to groups easily , I was the oldest member last time and felt alone . I have to get my thinking head on first and get really motivated , I do comfort eat,
Will look into it over weekend . Irene
