OH, those are my son's favorite cookies---have made one batch of them that he has not gotten any as I gave away a lot, but still have a tin for him waiting to give him today---and plan on making up another batch to give him Christmas day. Glad you had a nice time but were able to not overindulge---cookies don't count---LOL
I plan on the PT people really working with him to be able to get in and out of my car---and I should be home when he/she comes today for them to see what he has to do. I imagine the first thing they will work on is just him sitting with legs out and being able to get up from a lower height---that would also be good so he can actually use the toilet in the bathroom instead of the potty chair---it is already getting old in emptying it.
I did way too many steps yesterday---over 15000 and my legs were protesting big time---so today I plan on not doing a whole lot that requires me to be up walking. Have a good day!

I would agree about that but I remember sitting in the recliner with the feet up and not wanting to bend mine either. Maybe you could get a therapist to tell him to set a timer to get up and walk for a few minutes. My first therapist had me stand by the back door and put my foot up on the fireplace hearth to work on my bending. That worked pretty well though really painful when he was there pushing me. lol

We are home from the Christmas party-had fun. I ate a very thin slice of ham and a good size portion of the fruit we took as well as a small bit of a sweet potato dish. I finished off a pretty good dinner by having a couple of my friend's monster cookies and then she sent some home with us! emoticon

Oh, my, that must have been very painful. We are lucky we have several things from when we had my mom here after her stroke. And a PT person came today and another one is coming tomorrow---Sunday starts a new week and they want to make sure they get in 3 sessions this week with the holiday---and dh has done some of the exercises that he left without me prompting him. My big problem with him today is that he does not want to sit with it bent enough--I think that is bad for him to always have it stretched out.

Glad he's home and exercising. I remember coming home from my first knee replacement and I had nothing. My two daughters helped me walk inside to the chair and when I had to go to the bathroom they brought me a desk chair because it had wheels and I was able to get in there but then had to get down on the regular toilet. I was in tears by then. The medical place did get out there within an hour with everything I needed, thankfully!

I have baked 3 batches of cookies and one of candy. Still have more to do but that will wait until tomorrow. We have a Christmas party at 5 this evening so I need to get ready.

Sounds like a good instructor---glad you are motivated to go right now.
Dh is home---brought him home yesterday---had to bring the walker from the nursing home with us as the place forgot to deliver one to the rehab center---they are bringing it by today and I will take the rehab one back either Sunday or Monday. My mom came and watched him last night so I could work the basketball game---she spent the night and will be staying with him while I walk this morning and go grocery shopping. Home rehab is starting on Sunday. When I got home yesterday I got him up walking and then had him do some of his exercises on the bed---don't think he was thrilled about doing the exercises but he did them---LOL
Have a great Saturday!

Hope they got it figured out on when he's coming home!

I got to water aerobics this morning and discovered my favorite (most active) instructor substituting for the one who never has us move anywhere. I was so happy plus she's subbing for a couple weeks while the other is out on maternity leave. I may go back for the evening class plus I know I will go in for tomorrow's class at the other gym. If they could get Tracy on regular I guarantee she would have the pool full of people after just a few weeks. Now I need to get my baking and Christmas cards started.

Got a call today from Social services there telling me he was being moved---but they said they were waiting for insurance approval about discharging ---I said we were told Friday and we do need to make plans and get someone lined up to bring him home---and that I needed a time for this to happen as not fair to ask someone else to come wait on it. Honestly, I think he is ready and that is why I put him there, I knew he was not ready to come home at the hospital. He won't be happy when I tell him what she said, for sure.
Hope you got the goodies fixed up in time.

Glad he gets to come home Friday. It's the room mates that will drive you crazy in the hospital or rehab center. I had a sweet lady the last time I was in but she didn't want me to have the tv on before 8am or after 9 or when she had a visitor. ugh

I did get to the pool this morning and since there is class on Christmas eve I promised the instructor that I would be there. I told her I would bring her a small plate of goodies so I better get in gear and get it done!

Kerry, at least he did not just put it in the trash. Hoping this will wake him up to his need for God in his life. Congrats to gd, too.
Lynn, dh takes potassium as the gerds meds cause diaherra sometimes which deplete his---hope it helps.
Dh was happy last night as the doctor said he was scheduled for release on Friday---and he walked all the way to the front door and back last night without stopping---and this was the furthest he has been. But he got a new roommate that is off his rocker---they put him back in the room last night but his meds wore off at 2:30 this morning and kept him awake for the rest of the night---he called me at 6:30 to tell me---so I might be taking off work at some point to go get this straightened out if they don't listen to dh.

Did over an hour of my aquafit but had to quit - too many Charlie Horses and extreme fatigue. Kidney specialist has me taking an extra strong water pill 2 x a wk rather than occasionally as I used to and guess what ... my potassium has been depleted and I have to take 600 mg potassium pills - they gave me 3 months worth, oh goodie. The extra strong water pills are to be taken indefinitely. I ran all this by my Cardiologist and fortunately he's ok with it as long as they keep up the weekly blood tests I've had to have and watch me very carefully for dehydration. So off to the lab in the morning. We had to go to a Wake tonight. The husband of one of my husband's stepsisters passed away. My DH doesn't know her or her husband too well - she was grown up, married and living elsewhere by the time my DH's Mom married her Dad. But she and I hit it off when we met several years ago so I'm glad we could go to the Wake. We weren't able to stay long - evening activities really wear me out. Lecates, I hope your DH keeps moving.

No pool today for me. My granddaughter's spelling bee was this morning at the same time and I was the only one who could be there. Not that that was why I went. I actually didn't realize I would be the only family there for her. That's what happens when dad works days and mom works nights. Anyway, even though she didn't want to, she won!! The county competition is the middle of next month. I did some shopping before going home, grabbing one of the gift bags the youth helped put together Sunday and getting it delivered to an old friend who is now home bound. I then went shopping through Beall's -went through the store twice and didn't find anything I wanted to spend money on. Then it was pick up the grandson and take him to deliver the other gift bag. This one was a bit harder as it was for the widower of a wonderful church member who died last month. The husband didn't care for her going to church and never wanted to hear about it so most of us didn't know him at all but because she was such a good member they fixed him a bag. He did speak a bit-replied when I asked if he was Mr. Stillwell. I showed him the bag and told him who it was from so he said to set it on the floor and his daughter would be there soon to take care of it. He then told my GS to take care of himself and as we were walking out to shut the door. Not a friendly type but hopefully his daughter will be happy to see he got something. I need to get to bed early tonight and then to the gym in the morning.

This is the last week of the Y session for me. I have just a few more classes to teach this week before the winter holiday break.

During the break I'll be swimming every day the Y is open, and maybe get to do my own water aerobics if I'm there when the teaching pool is open.

My classes will start up again after the new year.

Do you use the cherry chips in cookies? Bet they are good----do you have to order them online? I don't think I have ever seen them.
All of dh's staples are out---and I had the nurse go in and tell him that they are watching him and they are noticing that he is not walking enough---so if he wants to go home, he needed to get his butt up and move---wonderful how that worked. Told him there was not going to be any fighting about getting up and walking when I tell him to do that at home, either!
No pool for me with basketball---and now no pool on Wednesday, watching gd but plan on taking her to see dh if she is well----he will be tickled---although I would love to just bring him home that day---tired of going to visit him.

Good morning! I slept until 7:30 and am still in my nightgown so obviously didn't make aqua today. There is an evening class but that would involve driving through the interstate entrance/exit at rush hour and I really don't feel like that! I need to put something on and then do a Leslie Sansone video and then start making a list for my baking. Hopefully I have enough flour and sugar but I'll have to check it out before heading to the store. Wish they sold cherry chips down here-I would like to have another bag on hand. I would think there should be some out there since I ordered a half dozen bags last year (I think it was just last year). I'll be out digging in the deep freezer later!

We didn't go as many places as in the past---one of the ladies was getting very tired---but we did cheer up some people---which was the whole goal.
No pool for me tonight---girl's basketball games---and dh might be coming home very soon---took half the staples out yesterday and the rest come out today---he was able to move much faster yesterday and he really wants to get out of there---so hopefully he is motivated enough to remind them he has to do stairs at rehab. I am ready for him to come as I am tired of visiting and not being home.

No exercise for me today-just a crazy church day with 2 extra kids along for the ride. We all went to Sunday School and then church for the cantata. Larry then took all 4 kids to our house while I attended the meeting about passing the 2015 budget. He came back for part of it but we left before the vote. It was smaller than this year's budget so, of course, it passed. Two people had complaints but they were the only two. We haven't had a youth director since the end of summer when the gal we had got a full time teaching job so they want to raise the salary offered and find someone-the complaint was that we only have 4 youth so why pay someone more. They are expanding the job to include making sure there were programs available for kids, youth and young adults so that should come with an almost livable wage I think. Half of those kids are my grandkids plus Cheyenne had 2 friends along and they enjoy attending so having something for all of them would be nice. This afternoon they and some of the adults put together bags for our home bound folks and we will be delivering two of them tomorrow after school. They had it all done by the time the money counting was done. It was a very exciting day-NOT! Larry did do two loads of laundry and grabbed a couple of pizzas to feed everyone so I didn't have to mess with that.

How did the caroling go?
Got my aquafit 90 mins in both today and yesterday. Always makes me feel so good - tired out afterwards but still feel good.

Glad you got to the pool--great deal on those sweaters, too. I do the same thing, buy my own clothes for dh to give me---I ordered new bathing suits this year for my present as dh cannot get out and shop and he does not know how to use the internet.
I was up early yesterday too---and was asleep by 9 last night after a super long day---slept in this morning and felt worse for sleeping late---felt better after I got moving.
Dh had a rough night---his roommate is really getting worse and was hallucinating last night and they could not get him calmed down---dh wants to come home--and he is about ready once they do steps with him.
I am going Christmas caroling after Church today---going to surprise dh , too.

Great job on getting him to walk at all! My husband walks up and down the driveway and acts like he's walked a mile! Today he is at the Habitat store playing Santa Claus. While he was doing that I went to water aerobics-went to the gym further from the house but still close where the male instructor was doing class. There were only 3 of us and I think I was the only non regular. Had a hard time keeping up with some of his dance moves but I did keep moving the entire time plus 10 minutes before class even started. I then stopped at J. C. Penney and got myself 2 sweaters-they will either be a Christmas gift for myself or a late birthday gift. I'll let Larry decide. emoticon I can at least tell him he saved $52 by my getting them before 1pm. I have been wearing the same red sweater for 20 years and it is one worn out, limp sweater. I now have a new one plus a mint colored sweater for a total of just under $24. Not a bad bit of shopping. I also looked for a dress but didn't see anything I really liked. Well, there was one sweater dress but I think that will have to wait until a bit more of the weight is gone. Before we went off to do our own thing he woke me up at 4:30 emoticon I stayed curled under the blankets for another hour before getting up so we could take our grandson to his NJROTC match. We got to their house and found his dad sitting on the couch watching TV-I didn't have my key so I called him. LOL Told him we were in the driveway as we thought we had to take him to the high school across town but he said the boy only needed to go to his own high school and he planned to take him before heading to work. I sure hope they got there in time for the carpool. Larry and I just went out to breakfast and then home. I'm ready for a nap now! emoticon

Kerry, he must have a lot of unused vacation time! I agree about the part time job---males need something constructive to do---or they will drive us crazy---LOL
Did get to take him dinner, and got him to walk for a bit---he acted like he walked a mile, and it definitely was not that far---LOL
Lots to do today--what else is new? but I am going to get to go for my walk with my walking buddy this morning.

Sorry you didn't get the relaxing time with your husband that you needed.
Larry and I got all the paperwork signed and found out maybe he should have worked until maybe the middle of next year because his last check will not be cut until January as well as the check for his unused vacation time which won't come until about the 1st of February. That means I need to sit down this month and pay double on all bills I can because we won't have anything else to live on and because he will be getting these 2 checks he won't be getting any Social Security until 2016. Oh, my!! When we get the vacation pay which should be about $30,000, we can put it in savings so we can pay all the taxes and insurance next fall. It's going to be a rough year unless he gets a part time job since he can't get SS anyway. That would also get him out from underfoot! LOL I think he'll need some kind of job to keep his sanity anyway.

Kerry, hope that paycheck thing gets worked out.
I did have one other person with me Wed. night at the pool---glad of that.
Long day yesterday with basketball game that was a real thriller---we won---100 to 90--back and forth a lot in the 2nd half---even had my table hit and the scoreboard controller turned off which created quite a bit of havoc.
I had plans for tonight and my mom has called and messed that all up---grrrrr---I was going to go get some dinner and take some for both my dh and I so we could eat together---not the stress I needed to have added to an already stressful week. Now I am sitting here waiting on her and wondering where she is---and why she is coming over this late when it will be dark soon and she does not drive in the dark---so thinking she will be staying the night---which means I have to go find another place for all the presents I put on that bed---I need a vacation! LOL

Custodian problems sounds like a rather serious hassle!
I was wondering late yesterday afternoon if our heat was working but it was-it's just that 66 degrees in a concrete block house on a concrete foundation with no sunshine getting in doesn't feel very warm!! I throw my extra blanket over me at night so I slept quite well.

No pool today-had my Friday morning coffee with 2 friends and now I wait for my husband to come pick me up so we can go sign his retirement papers. We need to find out if he will get his last check Dec 31 or if they'll run that pay period into the new year which will mess up his social security if he wants to do part time work. I'm hoping this person can answer those questions.

Always harder when it is close to the holidays, too. Sorry to hear of another loss in your life.
Rough morning---my furnace was not putting out heat---I had had a rough night so that just added to it. Called my middle son and he was able to get hold of a fellow firefighter/friend who does that work on the side---he came over---it was just a $4 part and he fixed it---won't take any money for it---I was very happy to hear that. Then our favorite custodian was transferred to another school---not by his choice--we are all having a running battle with the new head custodian----she has major control issues and has chased away all our good custodial staff---I was so mad I could have spit nails---then we heard this afternoon that she is now gone---sure lifted our spirits tremendously.
Dh's knee kind of looks better--no sign of infection and not as swollen---but man, it looks so bruised right now---you know how when you hit something and the bruise does not show up for a few days? The doctor said that was normal and I had figured that out---they had taken the bandage off of the staples---I counted 37---but his foot was still greatly swollen---supposed to have an ultrasound on it today to make sure not blood clots causing that----they were saying last night that the doctor was not going to come in to see him---until I took my dh's sock off and showed the nurse why he needed to be seen---the doctor was there about 10 minutes later. I didn't get home til 9 last night and I had left the house at 7 AM---I was really tired and did not have anything but some Lance Crackers---and my tummy was upset from the stress---It did finally calm down after I took some meds but I did not sleep well because of that.
I really hope I feel much better tonight, esp. after water aerobics tonight---and hope I am not the only one there, too.

I didn't go to the pool today because I didn't want to rush through getting dressed and then to the grocery store to grab the tray and then off to church for the funeral. We were standing room only for the service and then most of them stayed for the luncheon. I got home and stupidly opened up the end of the peanut brittle and finished it off. I know I was kind of depressed since this is the 4th funeral in a year with my mom being one of them.

I tried to order the pool/water shoes online thru Walmart but they aren't available online or in the store right now. Rats! When they are available, they are listed at $8 and all the other stores here in Peterborough list them in the $40-80 range on their websites! I bought a couple of bathing suits from Swimsuitsforall. I love the patterns and colours available in the large sizes. I'm not finding that the chlorine resistant one is as resistant as the one I bought locally but the price even with the exchange (I think the shipping was free) was about half what I'd pay here. The one I got here is a Speedo. In the large sizes it comes pretty much in the standard dark blue or black. There are other styles and colours but wouldn't fit.

Hope it is not the Bell's palsy again but does sound like it.
I agree about Florida, they should stock summer stuff year round---lots of tourists come down there and need to purchase that stuff. I do order my bathing suits from online---but that is only place I found that has bathing suits for bustier women---but I only buy when half off and low or free shipping. I love the Aquabelle suits. I ordered 2 more for my Christmas present from my dh as one has lost its elasticity but not its color---but I have worn that one a lot in a highly chloinated pool so no complaints about that---it has actually lasted longer than other suits I have purchased.
Back to work today---nice to get back to a more normal routine.

I have really learned to hate this seasonal stocking-it was bad enough when we got a rec center in the middle of Nebraska with the indoor pool and trying to find a swimsuit but in Florida I find it totally crazy that the stores don't stock swimsuits and other swimwear year round. There ARE a lot of places to order on line but you have to watch that shipping fee which is one nice thing about being about to have it shipped to a store without that fee. Hope you can get them and get them soon!

Our husband's aren't aging or healing well, are they? I think that's one reason my husband worries about having knee replacement surgery. That and watching me go through it twice. LOL

I didn't do the pool this morning though I should have taken my suit and done it after my cardio-it would have felt good!!!

I am thinking of maybe moving the decorations a couple feet forward to where there is a little grass (it's pretty bare under that big oak tree) because the sandy Florida soil doesn't hold those little "stakes" in. We definitely need to find something a bit stronger. I'm not real impressed with the angel-I really couldn't tell it was an angel in the dark-there's not even a light on each point of the star, Looks nice in the daylight, though. I need to get a tree and some packages out there. I want to replace the old tree with a twinkling tree so I should go see if I can find one today before everything disappears. I'm thinking I need to also talk to the doctor about my swollen face-the right side is swollen and the cheek keeps twitching. Kind of reminds me when I had that Bell's palsy back in '85.

Kerry, it probably needs tieing down with some fishing line and some hooks--wind is hard on decorations.
Dh's leg was redder yesterday but night nurse said it was even more red the night before---if I am still concerned today, I am going to call the surgeon and see what he says---dh does not heal quickly from infections---why he ended up in the hospital last year with cellulitis and almost lost his leg before they started iv antibiotics. I took today off to do some baking and just relax a bit---and my student did not come to school as he was sick so it was a good day to stay home.

It should settle down-hope it does. I am just now getting to my computer and sparking. It was a pretty normal day with the addition of putting out a couple Christmas decorations in the yard. Luckily my husband came out and figured out how the one went together and then put the big angel together, too. Of course the wind knocked it over while I was back at church so I'll have to look at it in the daylight and see if anything is wrong with it.

Glad he's wearing the wild shorts without complaining. lol Good thing the doctor saw the swelling/redness and started some antibiotics. Catch it early! Now you know you can sleep well tonight knowing someone is keeping an eye on him all night.

Hope they still have that angel for you to use. Why are men such PIA's? LOL
I went and got dh shorts---well, I was going for cheapest and in his size they only had some wild colors---so I got them--LOL----one is bright orange and one is lime green---the other pair is a decent blue----and I had him put on the orange ones ---he did say they were much more comfortable than what he had on---plus cooler. He said I would be getting those orange ones once he was better---but I am much smaller at the bottom so thinking they will fall off of me---heehee---but they might make good sleeping pants for the summer. And dh's leg looked inflamed---just starting to show symptoms---while I was there the 2nd time the doctor came in and was concerned that it might be the start of infection so he has put dh on an antibiotic right away to make sure it does not become worse---he says that is usually the complication with knee replacement is the chance for infection---just makes me even more glad he is there and not home---I would have been worried all weekend or been taking him to the walk in clinic or back to the hospital. Just makes me know that I did the right thing in pushing for him to go to a rehab center.
I did come home around 4 and fixed myself a nice dinner---heated up the leftover steak and baked a potato and but some broccoli and cheese on it---just what I needed to make me feel better.

Boy do I understand that about the shorts not fitting. We went to a wedding last year about this time (man, it's already been a year???) and my husband just grabbed a suit out of the closet. I told him it needed to be tried on or we needed to go get a new one and he said it was fine. Well, when it was time to dress (and we were at Disney at the time for a Fairytale wedding) he couldn't get the pants buttoned-duh. He had to tighten the belt up to hold the pants on and then he complained through the reception that he was ready to leave. Well, I wasn't but since we didn't stay right on site I couldn't just let him go to the room. I stayed longer than he did but did miss the cake cutting because I know how mad he gets if he has to wait too long. I really liked the hospitals where I had my hips done-a few hours after surgery I had to go to the rehab room where they give you a pair of shorts and shirt then back to the room. A couple hours after that you walk back to do some actual therapy. I went to St. Vincent's Hospital both times but for the second hip they had opened a new location just a couple miles down the street from our house.

The chicken sounds like a great idea. I like to do that sometimes. Hope your husband's therapy goes well and gives you time to take care of yourself and do things that need to be done. I wanted to do water aerobics this morning but the handyman came over to put up the hooks for my Christmas lights about the time I should have left and guess who refused to get up and deal with it. "you do the lights, you know what you want". Really? You can't see that he's getting hooks up where we need them? Men! So I stayed home and the lights are all up across the front of the house and down the side that's visible to the street. Now I just need to do the yard stuff which isn't a whole lot. I think I'll stop at Walgreens tomorrow and get one of the yard angels they have-or had the other day.

I think it was more the muscles giving way than the new knee---he really has little muscle tone left in that leg---it buckled on him before the surgery, too. He is at a rehab center---not the one we really wanted---but hoping that fact will motivate him to work harder to be able to come home sooner. He took shorts with him that he swore fit him---well, he couldn't even the fastened---so I have to go buy him big pull up shorts today---he said it was water retention---hahaha---NOT!
I haven't ate properly since lunch on Wednesday---so I need to start eating right so as not to get sick myself---but now I have to figure out what I can fix for just me---thinking of getting a rotisserie chicken, buying some salad stuff and a few baking potatoes. I could fix healthy meals around that stuff for the week. Hard to do that when you are busy going from one place to the other and little time at home.

I was thinking the same thing about Walmart's shipping but forgot to mention it.

Hope the knee is okay. I have a friend who has had 2 knee replacements and 2 hip replacements all in just the last 4 or 5 years, I think. She's 5 days younger than me. She loves her doctor but after each surgery she had to go in for a repair of some kind. One of them was to tighten the muscle/tendon that helps hold the knee in place. She wound up having 3 surgeries on that knee and now she has to go back in for another total knee. Not sure if it's that one or not but believe me, I would NOT keep going to that doctor. Today on her birthday she is have pre ops done. CRAZY!!

I am not planning on the gym today but did make it to my Friday coffee group. All 5 of us made it today. We had a hard time leaving because a truck driver comes in every week and parks his "tractor" minus the trailer in the middle of the parking lot while he runs in to get his breakfast. Once Helen got out, I was able to back up enough to pull around and then I guess Wilma got out. I really think the guy could go to the other side of the building to park so he isn't blocking the parking lot-it's not like there's a lot of room to start with. A little consideration for the other drivers would be nice. It doesn't help that it's right around the corner from the high school so all the parents are flying through there to drop their kids off while trying to miss the busy corner Okay, enough complaining. I need to get to the grocery store and work on something good for dinner. We went out last night so tonight I have to make something.

Oh, now, isn't that typical of a male---always talk the talk but never following up on it? That is why I want my dh in rehab center because I do not plan on being easy on him when he first gets home because I know he has to move it and bend it and he does not want to do that---he doesn't look at the big picture to see that the pain now will benefit him in the long run.
Kerry, can't believe the first time sending you home---they did want to send my dh home with home therapy but I raised too much fuss---and yesterday while doing pt his knee buckled on him---like how would I handle that at home if he started to fall----if I tried to catch him, I would end up in the hospital, too.
Lynn, can't you order them thru Walmart online to be delivered to your local store? That saves on shipping cost. Take care of that foot.

Well, dinner at church tonight was yummy though I didn't eat all that much. I did, however, eat some gumdrops while I was cutting them up for cookies. Hope they don't keep me up tonight. I have a dentist appointment in the morning for a cleaning but it's after water aerobics. I just have to remember to take my pre meds as soon as class is over. I have double the artificial parts-suppose I should double them? LOL I think 4 of those things are probably enough. My husband is snoring away on the couch so I guess it must be bedtime.

Take care of that foot-I keep telling my husband he has to do that, too. He agrees and then doesn't do anything.

Kerry - too bad about the loud jets in the hot tub at your facility. Our facility has a small therapy pool at one end of the room with the large Olympic one next to it running lengthwise and the hot tub is at the far end of the large pool to its left. It's very loud when sitting in it but not that noticeable while in the pools.
The bottom of the therapy pool where I do my aquafit exercises is rough rubber liner I suppose so that people won't slip. It's quite rough however and I ended up with a split in the crease of one of my toes on Sun. after by 40 mins. water jogging. When I got home, I looked up water shoes on-line to get an idea of availability in my City and how pricey they are. Most of them were listed in the $50-60 Canadian dollar range. Walmart, however, has some listed as $8!!! but guess what - they aren't available in either of the stores located here, grrrrr. I'll have to move on doing something though because I have Diabetes and can't risk cuts to my feet. I wonder if Swimsuits for All sell them - have to check that out. Enjoy your workouts everyone.

With my first knee they sent me home and I had 6 weeks of home therapy which worked for me thought sitting home mostly alone was lousy. With the second knee they did send me to rehab for a week followed by some home therapy and outpatient therapy. I think that worked best for everyone. Hope it all goes well whichever they opt for.

I wish I could go to water aerobics tonight ---I was sitting in a cold draft yesterday that made me hunch up to try and stay warm---finally asked for a chair so I could get out of the draft---I could use that warm water and movement to help but if I did that I would not get down to the hospital to see dh today. I didn't take off so as to save my days for when he is home afterwards---but really hoping they put him in a rehab facility for at least a week because I know him, he won't do what he should unless someone is pushing him----and I am tired of that being me!

Wish there was one where I work out.
Dh surgery went well. Doctor said he didn't know how he was walking on it.

I hope they put up a sign about the jets soon, Kerry. The new pool they are building is going to have a jacuzzi on the pool deck and I am concerned about the noise if the water exercise classes are going to be held there. I did raise it as a concern when the plans were being made. That is still in the future, though.

I got to the pool this morning for a good class. Of course, right was we were beginning our cool down some guy came in to use the hot tub and had to turn the jets on. They are so loud we can't hear the instructor at all. Funny that the gym by my house has the hot tub right next to the pool and it's nowhere near as loud as this one where the hot tub is around the corner. She asked him to wait to turn it on but I didn't think he heard her. After class ended he did come over and speak to her and she mentioned it-he did apologize. We decided there needs to be a sign that the jets can't be used during class. I haven't done much else-stopped at BJ's and got a large bottle of vitamins, toilet paper and paper towels. All the exciting stuff!

How is everyone doing? This forum seems rather quiet. What is new in your water workout world?

I would much rather go shopping or even looking than doing housework---LOL Hope you got out and enjoyed yourself.
Got in lots of extra steps here at work today--already hit 10000 steps for today---usually I am a bit short---and I still have water aerobics to go to tonight.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better, Kerry. I hope you get out--I always need an "airing" after I've been under the weather.

I felt a lot better yesterday but we stayed home from church just in case. I did go back in the afternoon because 2 people have to count money and I knew the 3rd was in Orlando with her kids. It didn't take long to get it done and then Larry got dinner for us. Feeling better today and feel like getting out and maybe checking out the stores but my daughter isn't cooperating. Maybe I'll go alone though I should do some exercise and cleaning.

My Thanksgiving was totally different-spent the morning driving a couple hours, then spent the afternoon fixing dinner and then a quiet evening before I started feeling bad. My husband had come down with the flu on Tuesday night so I got it on Thursday night. I slept through Friday and off and on Saturday but feeling much better today. I even got to church this afternoon to help with the money counting because the 3rd counter (actually the lead counter) was out of town visiting her kids and it needed to be done today. I am late to bed this evening but can sleep as late as I like in the morning, but it is time to head that direction.

Hi all - hope my American friends had a good Thanksgiving. We had quite mild weather today and rain this evening and to get the same tomorrow.
I got in my 90 mins yesterday and today at the pool doing 40 mins water jogging and 50 mins water aerobics. My Spark Tracker does track the exercise - about 70-80 of the 90 mins. I have to keep my feet moving constantly or it stops recording. The exercise that is recorded though is listed as "general exercise" instead of the water workouts. I can reclassify it and it adjusts the steps taken and the calories burned but lists them in my activity feed as the general exercise - reclassifying it doesn't get changed on the feed like it does on my tracker page. The mins. that it doesn't record, I have to manually put in and that's ok but unfortunately, those figures aren't updated in the steps taken in my tracker page. It would be nice to have it all count.

Oh, that is too bad---hate when I get that cold and can't get warm---that is a miserable feeling. Hope you feel better tomorrow----bet he doesn't wait on you like you did him.

I'm not going to worry much about food today as apparently whatever my husband had he passed on to me. I was up several times during the night, could NOT get my feet warm at all-2 blankets plus my robe over me-and again have the horrible sinus headache. I think he should keep his germs to himself or even better at work!!

I figure I did okay yesterday, too. Had a light breakfast and then the big meal and I don't feel like I overate at that one. Went shopping this morning when all the crowds were not there---that was nice---got a few things and a skinny tree for this year---our big tree would have made it difficult for dh to get around after the surgery---so most of my ornaments will not be going on that.
Hope everyone has a good day---get some extra exercise in to help with all the food intake yesterday.

I drove back home this morning and spent the afternoon with my daughter#3 preparing our Thanksgiving dinner. We did a pretty good job-too much food especially with Larry still not feeling 100% but she took some over to her boyfriend. I made 2 pays, well we made one and took one out of the freezer and baked it. lol That pie had been in the freezer forever and I decided it HAD to be baked. We had a small ham, a turkey breast, devilled eggs, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, gravy, crescent rolls, and the two pies- pumpkin and chocolate pecan. I used a small dinner plate and kept my servings small and sliced the pie about as small as I could. Looks like I stayed close to my calorie range. No lunch helped.
