I hope the girls DO play a good game. Nothing like a game where no one cares.
One of the gals I have coffee with on Friday has a friend who's husband is in really bad shape and the medication he needs is over $5000 a month. Since the were both always healthy they didn't bother with the Medicare D insurance so they are stuck with the entire bill. They're going downhill fast from their country club living. I am planning on the 6 pm class today and I'm hoping the wind dies down before then!!!

Maybe having the new grand will give you motivation to move more---you want to be able to chase her around and play with her so movement will be very important for that. Glad they were able to work their magic and get that price lowered---just crazy to think people can pay that price for that medicine. I know a lot of older people do not take their meds like they should because they can't afford to buy meds and still have money to eat with---crazy.
Had a good pool workout---my knee was giving me fits yesterday due to the weather front coming thru but the pool really helped and I finally got my core warm---had been chilly most of the day at school so I was cold---the pool was nice and warm last night and that helped so much---this morning the baker's cyst was back down so I know it helped that , too----and the stretches at the end really felt good on that knee, too.
Have a good Tuesday---long day for me----girls basketball tonight---hope the jv team actually plays basketball tonight instead of what they did the other week.

Yeah, I was immediately saying I'm not buying those eye drops anymore but after two gals worked their magic on the computer I paid less than $40 for 2 months worth and only $7 for the other med. Restasis is too new for there to be a generic so if you have "Dry Eye Disease" and don't have insurance too bad for you. I think they were having problems getting my Medicare D card in. You can't slide the card but have to punch in all the numbers. The Restasis is drops in a small plastic vial and the instructions are one drop in the morning and one drop in the evening then throw it away. My eye doctor said his sister has found that the tube is enough for 2 or 3 days so he said go ahead and use it up so you aren't wasting money. Mine lasts longer than that because I am forever forgetting to put them in early since I have to wait 20-30 minutes to put my contacts in.

I am just home from WalMart, one of my least favorite stores, and now have enough formula to last a while both here at grandma's and mom's. I also found a pair of black jeans for me so I don't have to wear dress slacks to the service this afternoon. If I could get this weight off I would have a selection of slacks or dresses to wear but I guess I really have to get back to those machines that make me sweat. I read not long ago that the way fat leaves your body is through sweat. If I get on a schedule and keep it up I know sweating would actually feel good. I just need a real kick in the rear.

Whoa, was this email not taking into account your discount or just a typo? I would have freaked out if I had received that. Glad it was a lot less but still not a great price at 54 either, but better than the other.
Water aerobics tonight for me!

My husband planned and put together his entire costume on his own. I had nothing to do with it. Now if he would only get creative and/or ambitious enough to organize something around here-ANYTHING!! emoticon

Today is a regular Sunday for me. We went to lunch with another couple plus our 2 tween/teen grandkids which was fun then it was back for the money counting which went quickly. I did pick up two prescriptions for a whole lot less than the $1700 the email from Walgreens said emoticon I paid $54. emoticon Super bowl time now. I will warm up my leftover pot roast for dinner. Hopefully it will warm me up!

Kerry, that sounds like a fun show---LOL---creative dh---did he think of this all on his own or did you help? Glad the baby cooperated, too.
We had snow Friday morning so no school---really haven't done much this 3 day weekend---although dh got ambitious yesterday and reorganized the shed outside---I did go out and help where I could---it does look better in there and a bit more space is cleared up and things are organized.

Good evening! I spent the afternoon at church for a "fashion show" honoring men. It was funny. My husband was a fisherman-he took the box the Pack n Play came in and made it a boat. He saved some McDonald's fish boxes plus a Whopper box for his "catch". We had one guy dressed as Popeye and of course, Olive Oyl. There were many others but that's the gist. Dinner was provided by the ladies-chicken Caesar salad, fruit cup and cookies. I had Aaliya because her mom got called to work because it's super bowl weekend. Aaliya was really good and slept through most of the show. We have the other two grandkids here now.

Great job on the weight loss! Wish I could start seeing the numbers go down. I seem to be stuck and I know I need more exercise, I just have to get my rear in gear.

Great news, Slim---hope you did not get all that much snow. Yuck!
Kerry, that's not too bad, 3 days a week---better than every day---babies are fun but do limit what we can do.
Missed pool because of basketball so I am looking forward to Wednesday night in the pool---and Wed. might be near 70 here.
Let's hope the groundhog refuses to come out---LOL

I can't believe I didn't post my good news earlier. I weighed myself today for February starting weight and I am down 2 more pounds! I've reached my 5% mini goal #2! I was so excited to see a loss after going to the memorial Saturday. I have not done well at those things in the past. It's working and that's all that matters, plus I am feeling really good. I put corduroy pants on today and they are quite loose! emoticon

At least we had kind of expected it so we were both up. We haven't seen GD since then as daddy was home with her over the weekend and DD is off today. She's off Wednesday, too, so we'll only have her Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

I haven't done much today-I always have a lazy day after what's always a busy Sunday.

His work hours sound like my dh's used to be---no wonder he fell asleep---but also not good for you either.
Wish I was going to the pool tonight but have make-up basketball games to work today and won't be home in time to go. Oh, well, I will go on Wednesday and only get in one time this week.

Your grandmother had some hard times there. It does have to be extremely hard to lose a child. emoticon Our daughter's dh goes to work at 4 am, does deliveries all day and gets home somewhere around 4 or 5. After he ate dinner he fell asleep and was really upset when he realized he missed getting Trish and Aaliyah picked up. I wish our daughter didn't have to work those late hours on Friday and Saturday but that's how late the store stays open.

Today was a pretty normal church day other than no grandkids. We did Sunday School, church (our middle daughter showed up for church-3 out of 4 weeks now emoticon ) and lunch out with 2 other couples from church.

My grandmother lost 2 children before she died---the first one was her firstborn and was just a baby, then she lost her 2nd oldest girl---her 3rd child--who was in her 50's---my grandmother said it was harder to lose her child than it was to lose her spouse---you just don't expect to bury your children. Our plans are not always God's plan--we just love them and pray that they live a good life and are ready to go whenever it happens. My oldest is a roofer and I worry that something could happen to him. My 2nd is a firefighter---always pray when I hear the sirens as I don't know his schedule---but after 9/11, I think we all know what could happen. My 3rd is often working concerts or venues at events so the events at the Paris nightclub hit home for him. We never give up our roles as mothers.
Kerry, how come you had to go pick her up at midnight? was her dh working, too?
Nothing much planned today except finally able to go to church this Sunday---no snow!

It's true, we never know how long we, or our children, have here on earth. This afternoon one of our older members died. She was 93 or 94. Her husband(94) was a child when his parents founded our church. I don't know how he will handle losing her.

I have three daughters and every time they drive out of town I worry and like Larry and me they like to do long trips involving a lot of driving. The horrible driving I see on the highways these days scares me-more for them than me. I guess that's our job as parents but it doesn't make it any easier.

I did water aerobics and went to Target but otherwise it's been a very quiet day.

I didn't sleep well last night. I got up twice with leg cramps in my left leg and so when it hit again at 8 am I got up. We had a memorial service to attend at noon so I made a casserole to take and pan of brownies.

The service was for my daughter in laws cousin, only 42 years old. So sad, my heart aches for his mother. Over the years I've met her at family functions. She, like me, has three sons. This one was her eldest. You never think you will bury your child and she is still in shock. I don't Ithink I could handle losing one of my sons. They are and have always been my life. I never met the young man but when they did a video presentation of his life, I couldn't hold back my tears. Mom holding him as an infant was almist more than I could bear. How do you say goodbye to the boy you fell in love with the second he was born? We spend our lives loving them, protecting them and praying for them when they are out of our sight. How do you cope when you never had the chance to say goodbye. This mother received an urn with his ashes because he died in another state, hundreds of miles away from his family. We can't always protect them, can we? We can tell them everything that is in our hearts and on our minds and caution them to take care. But when they are away from us we are impotent.

I couldn't help thinking about my sons. How hard they have worked to make a life for their families and how many times they tested fate growing up, just being boys. My youngest is an alcoholic. I fear for him and I pray for his safety night and day. My eldest drives long roads to work every day and every day I pray for his safety. My middle son works long, hard, stressful hours at his job and I pray for his well being and safety each day. Each day I beg God to please not take any one of them, or their precious babies before me.

Today I had to face the hard reality that what I want and what will be is totally out of my hands. My heart is heavy for my friend who buried her child today and it is heavy because I feel so small and impotent in this world. I humbly ask that God will spare me from having to walk in her shoes.

Without change, there would be no butterflies!

I got my 3rd session of water aerobics in this morning. We had two dozen in class. I kind of got pushed into a corner but just for the squat exercises. With three of us not so tall people we all wanted the shallowest spot available. lol No grandbaby today-daddy gets his day of bottles and diapers. lol Hope he handles it well. It was just before midnight by the time we got DD and baby home which makes it amazing that I was able to get to the 9 am class after sleeping until after 8. It didn't take me long at all to fall asleep so I made that 8 hours.

emoticon Keep up the good work!

I do agree that the way I look in a swimsuit has kept me out of the pool before, well, for most of my life, but if people looked at everyone in water aerobics they are EVERY size imaginable. I would say they range from maybe 100 lbs to 300 or more so who cares how their body looks. We are there to make them work better! I got my hour in the pool after coffee with friends and reading the paper. We now have a little girl here who is rather fussy.

WOO HOO! Doing the happy dance today. Down another 2.2 pounds and....lost 5" total from bust, waist, hips and thighs in month of January. Broke through the two week diet wall, (Two weeks on and then drop out) and continuing to follow guidelines another two weeks. I've lost 5 and regained 5 repeatedly in past couple years. Finally broke through that wall also.

So January stats: down 8.2 pounds and lost 5" over all. I'm happy and only 1.8 pounds from mini goal of 5%.

I AM DOING THIS!

So many people do not realize how good they will feel and how much better it is for their joints. A lot of it is because they don't like how they look in a bathing suit--vanity---they should see me in a suit---not pretty but it is more important for me to keep moving than it is about my vanity. Hope you can convince some to try it out.

Right now we're keeping the stroller in Larry's car since we use it the most and today was not the weather for a walk-dark, cool and rainy. Maybe tomorrow we can get a walk in either around the block or in the mall. In less than 3 hours I do plan to be in the pool. A friend at church last night really wants me to talk his wife into joining me in water aerobics. I should see about a pass for her. Maybe some other church friends would join us, too.

Congrats on no surgery needed---hope the shot helped and also the PT Make sure you do your at home exercises and ask what pool exercises you should avoid for now.
Kerry, of course she will not sleep all the time---esp. when you would like her too---LOL---maybe you should have a simple stroller at your house so you don't have to cart that one back and forth all the time---check at thrift stores or ask friends at church if they have one you could borrow until they have another grandchild.
Good workout last night in the pool---and my workout buddy did not get to the islands due to the snow storm so she was there. Got in 5 miles on land yesterday and then the hour of water aerobics---an active day for sure.

I know I held her too much but it's better than her fussing. Today she is in the pack n play with the fribrator on. She seems to like that and she is learning to push the pacifier back to her mouth. We also brought the stroller home so maybe we can get out for a walk. I am planning on getting to the gym this evening. Glad you were able to get a session in.

At least you will know what is wrong with it--glad you got back to the pool.
Kerry, how was your time with the baby? Did you spoil her just a little? LOL
I did get to the pool last night---felt good to be back in the water---and it was just me for the class as my partner has gone to the islands and warm weather for a week---she sure picked a good week to escape, although our temps are warming up for the next week but it will be a soggy mess around here for a while.

Being from Nebraska college football was the only big thing around but back then it was only one game a week for a few months and we watched as a family and attended games. Today's weekends of 9-12 hours of football each day is crazy. I won't watch a game if it's a runaway (way too boring) but my husband will and it drives me crazy.

No pool for me today. I need to pick DD3 up about 10 and drive her to work and then bring baby home with me until daddy gets home from work. I'm sure he'll pick her up on his way home. DH was up and out before 6 this morning which has made for a nice quiet relaxing morning for me-just like the old days of him working emoticon I know that won't happen again for a very long time so I have to enjoy it while I can. He'll probably be home before I head out.

Hate football but love the Panthers uniforms--pretty---LOL---we will NOT be watching any football here! I was a football orphan growing up and I refused to allow my children to be ignored for a game on tv.
Have a bit of cabin fever---so glad I am going out today for my mom's appointments---then I hope we can make water aerobics tonight.
Have a good Monday---and stay warm!

Good morning! DH and I took our two bichons to the groomer and went to breakfast. Its sunny and warm here today. Good for the big game. Broncos vs Patriots. Everyone at restaurant was wearing blue and orange. Except us...not my colors and not into football.
Feeling good and able to talk now. Still a little nasal but far better than I have been. I watch church on TV so going to pull up my recording. Have a good day everyone!

It's bright and sunny here but still cool with wind which makes it cold. We did the normal church things. Our daughter (middle daughter who is mom to our two older grandkids) attended church with us and took the kids home so Larry and I had a quiet lunch out before coming home. Right now I need to head back to church for the counting. It shouldn't take long and then I can spend the evening at home.

There's nothing like a sheet of ice under the snow to cause lots of accidents. Stay warm! I planned to do water aerobics this morning but woke with a headache and a fever blister on my upper lip so I'm opting for staying home. Hopefully the lip doesn't look too awful for church tomorrow.

They always say you either are losing weight or inches and I would go for either one of those right now! I did water aerobics this morning-didn't make it last night. I need to get my third session in tomorrow. I spent today with our daughter and her daughter with shopping for new shoes and other things for work since she heads back Monday morning. I even got my husband back into the store for some shoes, too. Bealls was having a sale with everything in the store 40% off so we each got a pair of New Balance for a grand total of $93. Regular price would have been $150 before tax.

The temps were warm today but the wind was really strong. I did some extra walking pushing the stroller to keep Aaliyah happy while her mom shopped.

Today is weigh in day and the scales say I didn' t lose, stayed the same. I'm OK with because my clothes are more comfortable. I think the salad dressing and salt were the cilprits from my lunch yesterday. In any case, not stressing as I am still learning. It is sunny today so taking my pups for a walk. My shoes are on, leashes laid out and we'll be off soon as I have a potty break. Have a good day everyone.

Glad you got to spend some time with your daughter even if it cost you some extra calories. I had to make a run to pick up a paper for our daughter and get it to her house so she could email a copy to the company. She should be back on the work schedule Monday. Yea for her. Not quite so fun for me if they schedule her for 7 a.m. since I'll have to go get her and the baby before dropping her off at work. I'm really hoping when he/they get their taxes finished they'll have enough for a small car for him to take to and from work. They really need 2 cars since he works at the beaches and she works a couple miles down the road from us.

No water for me today either. DIL called early and asked me to meet her for lunch so I could notarize some paperwork for her. She works for a very busy heating/ac company and rarely see her during the day. Plus we have both been sick with colds since Christmas. We met at Olive Garden and I messed up ordering my salad and didn't ask for dressing on the side. So my grilled chicken and lettuce was way more calories than I expected. Then I had their soup with potato and sausage. It was yummy! So light dinner tonight and big cup of hot tea. It was cold when I got home so just did a little laundry.

My shoulder is really being troublesome today so keeping it low. Have a good evening everyone!

Thanks, I'll pass that along to her.

I slept until after 8 when I had told my GS I would drive him to school because he had to drag his ROTC uniform with him today. The uniform isn't that bad but the shoes, etc. are. Now it's afternoon and past time for me to get moving and get tings done around here.

Slim, glad you were able to get the MRI done---around here they keep it cold in there---another reason why I have issues, if I get cold, I have to go to the potty---LOL---and it seems like they take at least half an hour or more for each one here, too. I know I don't ever want to have another one unless they put me totally under.
Kerry, she might qualify for a special program, too---so make sure she goes thru all the hoops--you should definitely not be paying her bills---helping her out with groceries or part of a rent might be okay, but not the hospital bills
I didn't go to the pool last night---I got too chilled at the hospital to want to deal with more chill. And didn't feel right last night either. Was thinking it would be smart to stay home today to keep an eye on dh but my student has mid-terms so I did not plan on it---and got up to find that school was closed today due to half an inch of snow--yep,you read that right. But it was unexpected so no one lined up to plow the parking lots or extra help for shoveling all the sidewalks at schools and the salt trucks were not prepared to go last night so roads are pretty slick right now. So I get to stay home, keep an eye on dh, and stay warm inside.

SLIMIN hope they can now see what the problem is. I'm really glad they got you in. It would have been awful to have them make you reschedule.
LECATES, glad your DH is feeling some relief.

No pool today for me-picked DD3 and GD2 for GD's 2 month checkup and her first round of shots. Trish said Aaliyah puckered up to cry but with mommy smiling and laughing she decided a smile was good. After that was leaving Aaliyah with grandpa to nap while we went shopping at BJ's and Walmart. Then it was lunch time and taking the two of them home. I sent several doctor/hospital bills home with her with instruction to call and get reduced prices or something because none of us can keep paying all the bills coming in. It's totally crazy. We'll help pay if she does the work to get them reduced. I know a gal who works in medical billing and she said they would rather take a reduced payment as none. After dinner at church and dropping 4 kids at their homes I am now trying to finish my sparking before I get any colder than I already am!

Good to gear your hubby is feeling relief, hope it continues. Well my day started out relaxing. Got a little cutting done on my project and had to leave for MRI appt. Drove for 45 minutes to get there to find out my appt WAS at 11:30 am!!😱 I got times with Monday's appt mixed up with today. God love them, they took me anyway but I had to wait a bit. Apologized profusely and thanked them all multiple times. How embarrasing! Brain fog is going to be the death of me yet! 😛 The MRI was not bad. I think I needed the rest after all the drama. It is noisey and you have to lie very still for about 20 minutes but I was comfortable and warm. Will have results Monday.
Going to make dinner. Have a good evening!

I hope to go to the pool tonight---but haven't heard back from my oldest son if he can come watch his dad for me---doctor said someone needs to be with him all day after the procedure. Sure hope it helps him with the pain.

Oh, that sounds like a cold school first thing in the morning. We got up and kind of lazed around this morning until at 11 as I was reading the paper, I asked my husband 'Is today Tuesday?' he said yes and I said, 'I think we're supposed to be at church' he asked for what and I said Dave's funeral. OOPS we missed the first part of the funeral but were there for the rest. We sat on opposite sides of the church because he dropped me off and then didn't see where I was sitting when he snuck in the back. People asked if we were mad at each other. lol I should set an alarm so I am reminded to change for the aqua class at 6. I obviously missed this morning and will miss tomorrow morning because of GD's doctor appointment. I'm hoping they get enough back on their taxes to get a small inexpensive car for SIL to drive to and from work. They HAVE to have 2 vehicles. We could almost live with one car but DH would not like being at home with no transportation while I spent 1-2 hours at the gym. That would be fixed if he would agree to join me but I haven't been able to get that to happen in the 27 years I've been going to the gym.

Kerry, too funny about the boots---yes, hard to travel to cold weather when you live in a hot climate---just not prepared. At least I have cold weather gear to stay warm, just prefer our normal weather a whole lot better than below freezing with wind chills---I could handle the cold but the wind chill does me in. We never opened the curtains at all yesterday to help keep the heat in. And the school heat will have been off all weekend so I will need my cuddle duds on to survive in school---and it is a late day with basketball games.
Slim, hope everything goes okay and that you are able to get back to the pool.

You've got to stay warm, that's for sure. I remember carrying my snow boots on the plane the first time I flew home to Nebraska after moving to Florida. I got off the plane and went to put them on and they just disintegrated. Guess they weren't make for those extremely hot temperatures we had that first year here. lol I didn't have a winter coat to go with those boots and the temps were below freezing. A man on the plane said he wasn't leaving me until he saw me with a coat which I knew mom was bringing to me when she picked me up. So I was warm except for my feet. My poor feet are seldom warm and I hate wearing socks and shoes. lol

I changed my profile picture to one of my now 92 year old dad (his b'day was Saturday) with 3 of my sister's 6 grandkids. Her husband has 10 so it's sometimes crazy at their house. His tend to come in sets of 2 or 3.

Nice to have company to join you for dinner. Good to work your brain, too.
Already decided that I am not going to do the pool tonight---wind chills tonight will be in the single digits and I can't dress in that many layers to go to the pool so going to stay home. We have to go out today for dh's pain management appointment but at least I can wear my cuddle duds to that.. Going to wear my new boots for the first time, too---although I am thinking I might want to wear my taller boots just to stay warmer---arctic wind chills---brrrrrrr!

Good evening. Our weather this morning was damp and windy which made it feel really cold since the temps were in the upper 40s. We did Sunday School as usual-I kept looking for DD3 to show up with baby but didn't really thing she would in the weather. After S.S. we had church then went to lunch. We had just placed our order when another couple from church walked in-as she was telling the gall there were 2 of them I managed to catch her eye so they joined us which was nice. Then home, then back to church for me to help count money. It didn't really take long but we double checked everything and got it deposited. I'm ready to do nothing the rest of the evening. That brain work wears me out!!

Slim, it does sound like you are on the mend---better to get that stuff out than let it settle in your chest.
Kerry, glad you enjoyed the shower but did not get the inside of the car wet. Hope you are okay and were not in the path of the tornado I heard about this morning on the weather channel down there.
Had a lovely time with friends at the outlets and out to lunch. Picked up a few nice things and when I got home, my son met us at Kmart and I got the corner hutch--even got them to lower it 10% since it was the last one--it fits perfectly in the corner of the living room and holds my carousel horses nicely---I am thinking i will stencil it this summer and put a coating on it then. It felt good to get out and enjoy time with gfs!

Oh, that sounds like my grandkids. "Yes, I'll help-I need the money." "Oh, I didn't have a ride". and to their parents "we never get paid for what we do". or is it that it just disappears? Oh well, the oldest did come over a few weeks ago and swept off the roof where the leaves fall and the wind can't blow them off.

The movie was "Facing the Giants". It's a religious movie-as my husband said "a bit corny in places" but a good story about having faith and not giving up.

Today was the baby shower for the drummer's wife (him, too, but the only guy who showed up was the choir director and he did video for them). I had fun just visiting with friends-I'm not that big on showers other than the kind that get me clean. Of course, I left my windows down an inch because it wasn't raining and the car could use some airing out and when I come out it's raining. Luckily it wasn't a windy day so all was well.

We can hope Lecates. I am still croaking this morning but I think I may feel better. Hard to determine when you are coughing up crap every 5 minutes. Im sick of hearing us hack, even 30 years as a RT doesn't cure the grossness of wet loose coughs. 😛 I need to vacuum and scrub in famy room but my shoulder is not up to all the push, pull and lift needed. Funny thing is I have a grand daughter and her friend who are always whining aboutneeding money. Do you think I could hire them to work for me!!! Not on a bet! So hire sons girlfriend who will drive 35 miles to help me. I pay her well and she is an amazing worker. Only problem is she is away this weekend. Oh well. Maybe DH will help. He is good with the vacuum. I'm so lucky he is so helpful. Praying that Monday I can get back to water aerobics and get caught up on housework. Being sick everything gets set aside.

Have a great day everyone!

Slim, I started to lose my voice just as my cold started to get better---so maybe that is a sign you are on the mend, too.
Kerry, glad you made the effort and got to the pool. What was the movie?
We had a bomb threat at my school yesterday---luckily I was down in Horticulture with my coat and we were able to go into the greenhouse out of the wind for most of it---ridiculous!
Going to the outlets and to Cracker Barrel with friends today---nice to do something different.
Have a Good Saturday!

I don't like going out in the cold with a wet head, either. Luckily it isn't usually too horribly cold when I leave the gym. Today I came home with a wet head and immediately used the hair dryer before getting ready for the memorial service. I pushed myself to get to the pool since I missed Wednesday and Thursday. I was up and out at 6:40 for my coffee group, finished preparing the devilled eggs for the service, changed for the pool, back home and changed for the service. In a bit we're going back for a pizza dinner and a movie preview for the Sunday School class. I'm not in that class anymore but my DH is so we're going. No meal for me to fix and if I sit in the back I can maybe use my kindle while watching. lol I have no idea what the movie is.

Hello girls. I'm still croaking like a frog today and keeping quiet as possible. Weighed yesterday and down one more pound. At least going in right direction and now officially reached goal #1 to get below 200! 😁. Just wish I felt well enough to celebrate. I got a call little bit ago and could not answer! No loss is was a solicitor!!! But not feeling good about losing my voice. Guess I'll just sew today. Ttyl.

I usually get the bottom of my hair wet----try to put most of it up---I am okay with that but in this cold weather I would not want to go out with an all wet head---LOL
Kerry, sad but not suffering any more---think of it that way.
So glad it is Friday---a friend and I are going to go to the outlets and to Cracker Barrel tomorrow--we had planned to do it on Monday but dh has a doctor's appointment-----looking forward to going and browsing----looking for a new pair of shoes is only thing on my agenda.

Slimin, I hope you get to feeling better. Bronchitis is no fun at any time.

We used to sit with the noodles between our legs and bicycle with them, put them under our food and push it up and down and side to side. The ladies who didn't want to get their hair wet wouldn't do some of those. I always enjoyed them. LA Fitness doesn't have noodles or belts. Using the belts in deeper water is really good if you have knee problems.

I didn't get to the gym today, but did get to spend most of the day with our new granddaughter. I had someone come in and scrub the two bathrooms and our daughter had some things to do so I had Aaliyah to myself. I'm in the process of making some devilled eggs for the funeral tomorrow for the church member who died Sunday morning. The second man's emoticon funeral is Tuesday.

LECATES, I have people try standing on the noodle one foot at a time and holding on to the wall, if they want. Some still get dunked, though. One of the big keys is to not look down at your feet--look straight ahead.

Jo-ann, it was fun---but I kind of cheated and still had on my deep water belt---LOL---that helped a lot.
Slim--I use a flotation belt in the deep end so I might bob up and down but do not go under for any exercise. Definitely let the doctor know that you are not any better, sounds like you need another antibiotic to really kick it.

I had to get out my nebulizer last night. It helped with congestion and cough but couldnt sleep due to stimulating effects of the combivent. Last day of antibiotics and fear it will take something else to get over this. I have trouble with bronchitis since having blood clots in my lungs. Do not want to have to deal with that again but not looking good. Not talking today and drinking lots of herbal tea.

Must have been a fun class! My balance is really bad so I doubt I would even try the paddleboard. Plus I hate having my head under water...old fear from teens when I got thrown into a lake and couldn't swim. People pulled me out after the third time under. So I paddle in the pool like a dog, head held high. 😉

Our new instructor is trying lots of new things with us---like most of them---last night we had to balance on paddle boards while doing activities in the shallow end---let's just say that the paddle boards sometimes shot out from under us---LOL
Have a good Thursday!

Good for you! I am still having problems with this cold! Yesterday I got up feeling great then by afternoon I was sneezing my head off, sinus pain and pressure and coughing all over the place. I'm walking around with sugar free lozenges in my mouth all the time to keep from spewing all over people. This am sneezing and coughing again. I am so discouraged as I want to get back into my class. I'm afraid that even if I am not coughing the chlorine in the pool will irritate the heck out of my sinuses and the dam will burst all over everyone. :-(

I got my swim and taught my water aerobics class last night. I ended up teaching in our brand-new "family" pool. It isn't quite as warm as our usual shallow pool. It doesn't have lines on the floor (I often use them to cue class participants), and there were some unexpected distractions. But it was a good opportunity to preview the space and figure out what some of the teaching challenges may be for the future. We are supposed to remain in our usual pool, at least for now. Last night was due to a bunch of Y unforeseen circumstances.

Hopefully things will be less wacky there tonight!

When I start getting stuff cleared out of here, put away, sold or just given away, I'm going to buy a new inversion table. My friends have them and swear by them-one got the IT after a third back surgery was suggested to fix what the other two hadn't. She still has a little pain but nothing like before. I had one for a year or two and used it sporadically but my husband was forever complaining about it being in the way so I got rid of it. Dumb me.

I did talk to the instructor and all I have to do is raise my hand and she will repeat instructions. She really is a good instructor.

Lecates the one thing that helps me most for my back is traction. I see a chiropractor regularly to stay mobile. Back pain is so debilitating. Prayers to your hubby. By the way, my chiropractor takes insurance so cost is only $30/rx.

I hate when doctors leave you in limbo because someone else can't get you in for therapy or tests, etc., your body can go rapidly downhill.

Sorry about the broken water main. I'm glad you hadn't gotten into the pool yet. I am planning on the 6 p.m. class today and Thursday. They rearranged the instructors plus I have a memorial service Friday morning so I am going to try this new schedule plus Thursday I'm having someone come over to really scrub our bathrooms.

My Y had a water main break 10 minutes before my class last night. We had to evacuate the building. At least I wasn't wet. I was able to put my clothes on over my dry swimsuit, which was a good thing because it is cold here!

It has been repaired, so things are back to normal tonight.

SLIMIN, good for you for speaking up. Have you mentioned to your instructor that you are having trouble seeing moves underwater/hearing? Accoustics can be hard to judge. As an instructor, I am happy to demonstrate from on deck when need be, or move closer in the water to make sure everyone has a good look. If I am aware that someone has a problem, then I can plan for ways to offer them more support. Ask her privately if you can give her a signal when you are having trouble hearing--such as holding your hand up to your ear.

Sounds like you have a right nasty bug there---good to not spread it. I am the kind who does not mind telling others if they are stopping me from hearing someone else---I work in the school system and had to tell students to hush yesterday as my student and I were having trouble hearing the teacher's comments about the notes. Can you imagine talking when your teacher was talking when you were in school? Man, our parents would have been busting our butts when we got home if not coming in and doing it in front of the others.
Had a good workout last night---our new instructor has us trying new things---one new thing I had to tell her that it was not going to happen, so she gave me a motified one to do---that worked well for me. We did a bit more core activities and I could tell it in my stomach muscles this morning---not too sore but definitely could feel that they had been used.
Talked to a therapist about my dh last night---she is going to show him how to put on the neck brace and just hang in the deep end to see if that helps his back---she was surprised that he was not given more PT. The doctor's office said it could be 2 weeks before pain management could fit him in---he can't wait that long so hopefully the doctor will call in a script for him that will help with the pain until he gets in.

Not being able to hear her or see what she is doing under the water is frustrating. I don't mind speaking up for my rights! If someone wants to be rude so be it.
I thought I was ready fo an outing today so got dressed and drove to downtown Denver to get my new script. Took that little burst of energy right out of me. 😛 But its a start. I've only been out of the house twice since NY. So resting with my feet up and making turkey meatballs & marinara sauce over spaghetti squash for dinner.

I hope you're feeling better soon. When people around me start talking too much I tend to just stop listening to everything and just watch the instructor. Sometimes that's easier said than done. Sometimes a look will help but not always.

I stay toward the deeper end of the pool but one day the chatter was so annoying I couldnt hear the instructor so I opened my big mouth. I just spoke up loudly and asked the chatters to please tone it down as my hearing is bad in my right ear and couldnt hear the instructor. Some apoligized and spoke quietly but I did get a few crusty looks. But, Hey! I pay for that class and I want to get something out of it. I dont even mind if they chat but be respectful of others.

I wanted to go to class today but again coughing, sneezing and bliwing all the time. I gross myself out so not going to spread the joy. Walking up and down stairs to get some exercise. I have a winding staircase with 18 steps so a few flights is a good start. Have a great day my friends!

I'm freezing so the pool doesn't sound good right now. I will definitely need to try an evening class this Thursday because I can't do Friday morning due to a funeral and I am making a couple dozen deviled eggs.

The ones who really irritate me are the folks who stand in one place talking if that's what I was there for I would be on a treadmill or recumbent bike I would still be getting some exercise but I try to move away from all of those people so I can get a decent workout.

Why are men so stubborn about health issues? Mine milks every problem he has to avoid doing things---so aggrevating. And he won't touch anything with broccoli---do you know how many recipes there are with that in them? I would love to try different things but he would have a fit.
Woohoo on those 5 lbs---you can do it---keep pushing!
On the night classes---there are only 2 of us regularly in our 6:30 class, sometimes a 3rd. But it is the only class that fits my schedule===the other gal recently retired and could go to the earlier class---she tried it a few times but likes my company better---some days I push myself harder than others---according to how my knees are doing---we do mostly deep end exercise---I don't like the shallow end very much---harder on the joints. If others in your class are not pushing themselves, then it is sad for them---you work at your own pace---that is what is good about water aerobics, each person can judge what is best for them---don't judge those others, they might have joint or health issues that makes it better for them to do it slow----at least they are in the water and moving some.
Looking forward to my class tonight---less blowing my nose so I should be okay today to use it.
Have a good Monday!

I totally agree with you, especially your last statement. My husband has type 2 diabetes, one heart stent and COPD. He has even started going to the bedroom some afternoons to use his C pap which may make him feel better for a little bit but doesn't help his lungs get stronger. The stress could kill me which is why I need my exercise!

Im sorry DH is so fussy about food, sure makes it hard to eat healthy. Mine was being fussy about food until I told him to either support me so I can get healthy or face living alone when I die. I can not have sweets and junk food in the house because they are my 'drug' of choice. He is also great about cooking once in a while and if I make something he doesn't like, he wil fix himself something else. I could not deal with having a piece of furniture sitting there waiting to be waited on. That kind of behavior is why a lot if men die of 'sudden onset cardiac arrest' soon after retirement.

At our old gym location (LA Fitness bought them out) we had deep water aerobics every Tuesday and Thursday morning and I loved it. We had a group of at least a dozen for deep water and then a group of another dozen or so who stayed in the shallow end doing what they could along with complaining that the instructor wasn't catering to them.. Not sure what they didn't understand about the class title of Deep Water. oh well, we all enjoyed it and I loved not pounding my feet and knees . The pools at LA Fitness don't actually have a deep end but a not as shallow center which is not fun if you're trying to jog laps-a few of those steps tend to end up under water for us shorter people. The one gym location that is a total of about 4 blocks from my house only has two daytime aqua classes on T & Th at 9 and 6 pm classes also on T & TH. The other location which is 4 miles from my house on the north side of the interstate has classes 6 days a week at 9 am and 2 evening classes. This week they are changing up the instructors so I'll have to keep a close eye on it because there are some instructors I just don't care for because they don't seem to know what you can do in the water what you can't. There are also Silver Sneaker classes at this gym with none at the one near my house. Since I don't really care to keep driving down to the interstate I tend to skip a lot of classes which is NOT helping my weight. I'm with you not wanting to get out and drive at night.

Glad you husband is feeling better. Mine is just home all the time wanting to know 'what are you planning for breakfast?' What are you doing for dinner? etc. I used to have everything for my meals planned but he refuses to eat, and I quote, 'any more of that healthy crap you fix'. So much for helping me lose.

Kerry I'm not getting too excited about the loss, I've lost that same 5 a half dozen times. Niw when I lose the next five I'll get excited. 😉 DH was home for 2 weeks leave time over Christmas/NY and home sick three days last week. Be glad to finally have house to myself this week, although he has been wonderful to me.
As forbwater aerobics classes, my class is ams at 9. There are also classes at 10:30, 4:30 and 5:30. Am class is busy, moderate paced to fast and includes weights, resistance bands and deep water work. The 4:30 class is all deep water work. Never been to 5:30 class, I don't like going out at night. Some people in am class kinda hang to one side and visit more than work. I find the 4:30 class is smaller and they visit too much so I go at my own pace. All classes are different so I guess you have to look until you find what works.

Without change, there would be no butterflies!

I've been to a couple gyms with water aerobics and the morning classes always are more populated than the evening. A lot of people just can't get themselves back out of the house once they get home for dinner. I'm that way but I can get to the morning classes so that's okay though I could use the exercise or use one if I'm short of my goal. We even tried some at 4:30 pm so teachers could do it on their way home from school. It didn't last long either. That reminds me I need to check the schedules since they are shifting instructors to different days and times.

Way to go on losing!! Sure wish my scale would start going down. It's being very stubborn but it has help from my husband who's life in retirement is all about TV and food. Today is always a day of no exercise because our morning is Sunday School and church service followed by lunch and a brief break to read the paper then back to church to count the offering and get it to the bank. I'm hoping for some new people to sign up as volunteers so Elaine and I can get some breaks. It's no fun trying to plan a vacation when you have to be at church every Sunday afternoon.
