I have attended an Aqua Zumba class for a few months now and I love it to bits! There's such a feeling of freedom dancing in the water where you are supported and nobody can see whether you're on the right foot or not! The dances are a combination of Latin dance moves, slowed down to accommodate the resistance of the water, and some moves that you may be familiar with from regular water aerobics class. Every instructor's class is different, because it is up to them what music and moves they use.
There isn't an AqZ video, but if you go to YouTube and search on "Aqua Zumba" you will find plenty of footage to show you what to expect.
And remember that like any other exercise class, not every move is good for every body on every day. There's a lot of rapid twisting and direction change that may not be right for some backs or knees. Listen to your body and modify accordingly.
The YMCA in Katy will have it's first Aqua Zumba class tomorrow evening and I will be there. I am very exited but am unsure about what to expect. Have you ever attended an Aqua Zumba class? If so, what did you like about it and what didn't you like about it? What can I expect?
