I walk. It's constantly amazing to me that I can do water aerobics for an hour easily, but still have trouble walking for any distance. Which tells me I need to walk as often as I do water aerobics (which isn't much lately -- my back has been very unstable, & water aerobics seem to hurt rather than help. I'm giving it a chance to heal up for a week, & then it's back to my old routine! Can't wait!)

When our pool is closed, I walk around the lake, which is actually a glorified surface water retention pond with a fountain stuck in the middle of it, once or twice a day. It's a lot more dangerous than the pool, but I have to keep doing something. So when I walk around the lake for the second time in the day, and crumble my 2 bit's worth at the landlord for his failures yet again, I figure I've just about covered the issue well enough.
I usually go for a walk every morning at 6am just to get going, and then to the pool for two hours, 60 minutes of water jogging, 30 minutes of water aerobics on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 30 minutes of socializing in the floating and treading water mode.
But when it's closed, I hoof it around the swamp lake and enjoy it!

My regular pool is closed for two weeks for regular maintenance. This week I've visited two other pools in the area, neither of which is ideal. Next week I'll make more of an effort to use my exercise equipment at home, and then get back to my regular routine the following week.

When the pool is close we do circuit training, tredmill, and we have other weight machines and a gym for basket ball. Some of us walk around in the gym or we walk a track outside. When the gym is close altogether I have my own machines here at the house or I pop a Richard Simmons cd in and get to rocking to the oldies. Theres always something for me to do. Linda

We love the water the best, but we all have times when "our" pool isn't available. What do you do when your pool is closed? Go to another one? Do some other kind of exercise? Curl up in catatonic ball of misery? Tell us, please...
