Thanks, Greeneyes!! I never knew there were actually socks made with reinforced toes and heels! ChicShan004 mentioned the idea and you actually gave me the brand names of who made these socks. So, now I have an idea of where to look and what to get! THANKS to both of you for the tip!!

Hi Gymrat!

I'm currently doing INSANITY, in my second month, and I haven't had a problem with my socks. I wear Hanes crew cut with reinforced soles and toes. I also hear that the Gold toe brand is good as well. I'm always running, jumping, stomping, etc, etc,...using my feet somehow in every exercise but haven't gotten any holes in my socks. Hope this helps!?!

Thanks, CHICSHAN004 for writing.

I've been doing strength training since 2006, and this is the first year I've experienced this problem with getting a hole in my sock. Maybe it's because I'm doing different exercises now than I did before, those that are pressing more forward on the big toe. It's just the big toe. I thought about putting a small cotton ball in the big toe for enforcement. Can't see doubling up on the socks without getting larger shoe size.

Hi GYMRAT54! I have not encountered this problem. Maybe try toe-enforced socks? Or double up? I don't know....my toes are all the same size, like Fred Flinstone's, so maybe that's why? I hope you find a solution soon! emoticon

I have gone through a lot of socks lately, tearing a hole in the toes of my socks because I've been doing certain exercises, such as push-ups, burpees, planks, wall sits, calf raises, lunges and others that cause you to push forward on the toes. Has anybody else experienced this? I trim my toenails, so that's the problem.

I'm not crazy about spending money on socks as socks can be expensive! It's almost come to the point where I have to make a decision on whether to do an exercise or not because of the risk of tearing a hole in my sock!

If anybody else has experienced this, what have you done or what do you do about it?
