Yesterday I stretched before and after, but today I only stretched before. I was so excited that I'd completed my workout that I just jumped out and completely forgot! I'll definitely remember tomorrow. My achey muscles will be a good reminder, lol.

I wish we had an eco-friendly pool where I live (suburb of Detroit). If I didn't pay through the nose for my Bally's membership I'd probably look for one to start going to.

That's great Betsy! you def worked out if you can feel it today! Did you stretch after swimming? I find it very important to do it so specially if you haven't swam in a long time. Ah yes! the smell of chlorine, I used to like it but since I moved to this eco-pool (they use salt and some other natural pesticide to keep the water clean) it feels better to not have an itchy nose all the time :P

Thank you ma'am!

So I caved yesterday and went to buy my gear (cap, goggles, kickboard, etc) and dove back in yesterday. I swam my first 600m in almost 10 years, and even though I took it easy (no more than 50m at a time and a bunch of kick drills), boy am I feeling it today.

It felt great though, and I look forward to going back today. There's nothing like the permeating smell of chlorine to get a swimmer through the day, lol!

Thanks again for the support.

Hey Betsy!

Welcome to the team! and how cool to have a competitive swimmer amongst us :). We are currently having 2 longer course challenges and just launched 2 weekly sprints challenges (these 2 are going to be the main ones starting next week so you might want to join one of them).

Please let me know if you need anything,
Aldana

Hi all,

I just joined your group because I am looking for new workouts. I am a former competitive swimmer, and I have to say that of all the different ways to work out swimming will always be my favorite. It's been years since I've been in a pool, but as soon as I get my gear (payday's on Friday - woot!) I'm hopping back in.

I look forward to reading about how everyone is doing with their challenges, but at this time I'm going to be an observer and take some good notes for the next one (which hopefully I'll be ready to take part in!).

Take care and good luck to you all.
