Exercise streak at 133 weeks and scale went down some more. (But why, oh why, is the face one of the first places you lose weight on - I'd really rather it came off waist faster than face.)

I have been losing weight slowly but steadily since I started changing my diet to one based on blood type. My exercise streak is at 132 weeks (two weeks more than 2-1/2 years). Most weeks I have a nice variety of exercise. Life is Good!! emoticon

Not letting the doctors pass the buck resulting in me not getting treatment. I stood up for myself and figured out a way to see someone by going to the minute clinic. I even made a follow up appointment with my ENT for next week.

Working on week 125 of my exercise streak. That would be two years, 4 months, and one week if I figured it correctly. Of all that I do or have done for my health, exercise is the most important to me.

Transitioning back to a diet based on my blood type using the books by Dr. D'Adamo. I've had a few totally compliant days. For me the major "avoids" are wheat & dairy. Had my last cup of coffee with milk last week. I've lost some weight!! I was the lowest I've been on the scale this morning. Realize that could fluctuate up & down. emoticon

Ah! The arm cycle! They have one at the Y. Thanks for the suggestion Eileen! I am allowed to swim and do deep water aerobics. Our house needs to be cleaned but I can't stay on my foot long enough enough to do it. I will soon start naming our dust bunnies! :)

Today I am proud of myself for using restraint after my workout. The only walking I did was while wearing my big boot. Then I rested for the remainder of the day.

They make small units that can be used with a chair as a bicycle. The same units can be put on a table and used for arm work. The units have pedals and usually can be adjusted for tension. emoticon

After doing a six mile hike in the morning, I FINALLY did a drawing. Have posted picture on my page and even posted to Facebook. I'm not necessarily proud of way the picture came out BUT I am proud that I did it. It was hard to start as well as keep on going. PERFECTIONISM was raging full bore. Knowing how it was affecting me as I worked, I am so very proud of myself for finishing.

I'm proud that I've gotten rid of another box of my paper clutter. I've also dealt with the mail that was accumulating. I'll pick up two boxes from storage on Friday. I do have a system that seems to be working re dealing with boxes. At moment, table in spare bedroom is clear.

Did my third Volksmarch today. It was a 10k. That's about 6.2 miles. Used my Nordic poles for about 50% of the time. Had a good time. I did it with a Meetup.com group. There were nine of us plus one dog. We walked at the Dade Battlefield in Bushnell.

I'm finishing this year with over 22,000 fitness minutes. Yeah me!

Kayaking all by myself (with group but not Val). Val helped me set up kayak on vehicle the day before but I (with some assist) got kayak on top and then lashed it down. Yeah me!

running 10.5 miles today and not letting the sore on my foot or the rain stop me! I did go in to the treadmill for a while, but that is okay.

I did a three hour hike today at Sebring at the Highland Hammock State Park. The trails and buildings were developed by the CCC in the 30's. It's a great place to hike at.

AQUAGIRL08 - so hope they work. Physically, it has been a challenging year for you.

I finally chose my reward for two years of exercise. I have been trying to use a pair of trekking aka hiking poles with Nordic tips. However, they don't have the right handle and wrist strap to do Nordic walking correctly. Nordic poles have a wrist strap system that is easier on wrists. With all the wrist & tendonitis problems I have had in the past, I decided to get a pair of Nordic poles.
Years ago, I had a chance to do a 10+ mile walk with a pair of Nordic poles. They had a quick release system for the straps. After researching, I decided on a particular pair of Leki poles. Problem is, they are out of stock until next year. What I am proud of myself for (and lucky I could afford to do), is that I allowed myself to buy a more expensive pair. They will be lighter than the ones I wanted to order. That is a very good thing.
Now, I have to wait to get them in.
Still on exercise streak; I've got too much time in it to even consider dropping it.

I'm proud of myself for driving close to 1250 miles since last Thursday. I drove up to Columbia SC to see my cousin Nancy. On Sat. I drove us to the exit below South of The Border to see my other cousin, Gail. Had a great time. Nancy kept me busy with things like Bill's Pick'N Parlor, Columbia Zoo and also their great gardens. Also got to see their niece and her family. Had a fun time playing Tic-Tac-Toe with a younger cousin at IHOP. I also got to visit with some of Nancy's friends. Drove all the way on Thursday but felt safer to take two days to come home.
The fun part is that I got to go some different ways than my husband would have taken.
Good to be home, see Val, and CRASH.
