Hi! Like everyone else stated- don't beat yourself up. You took the first step to becoming a better you. And for that alone, you should keep that chin up. I just started again after a VERY long time. The first time I got on the elliptical, I honestly could only do 7 minutes. After two weeks, I am now able to do 30 minutes. It does get better. Before you know it, you will WANT to do =)

Rest assured you aren't the only one who has those depressing days. Today is my first day back after a long break. The sad thing is that I gained back some that I'd lost. This time around I'm without a gym membership, so I'm trying to work out at home. The battle looks uphill. After hitting the treadmill today, I completely felt the same way you did - wondering how I let it get this bad.... Let me tell you, I found a lot of inspiration from success stories on this website. Maybe that is something you can draw on for strength?
You are doing the right thing. Keep it up and put on a smile! I believe in you. If I can do it, you can do it and if you can do it, so can i. Message me if you ever need some motivation

The more I work out the strong I get and the further I can push myself. I was down with a cold for over a week and a half so now I am starting up again. Though I lost a little momentum I had gained preparing for my 10K prep.

LasheaLawrence - we ALL let ourselves get somewhere in life we didn't want to be at some point, whether it's a bad relationship, a bad job, a bad apartment or bad health choices. The important thing is that you RECOGNIZE it was a bad choice, and take steps to prevent yourself from doing it again. I know you will suceed, just put one foot in front of the other and take it one day at a time. Keep making positive choices and if you slip up, don't fall totally off the wagon and give up, get back on and keep going forward. It's all about positive thinking, remember the little engine that could - I think I can, I think I can? Thats you. :)
LASHEALAWRENCE: Don't forget to keep posting and reading other people's posts. Every bit of encouragement you receive and offer to another will help your resolve. I am glad you are feeling better about your efforts. Keep up the good work.

You CAN do this! Work out a little each day and before you know it, you WILL be in shape. Remember, it took awhile to get out of shape, so you cannot expect immediate results. The important thing is YOU STARTED. NOW KEEP IT UP. Honestly, you keep up with this and you will be amazed to see your body changing. Keep up the good work, recruit! :D

LASHEALAWRENCE did you take 1 more step today than yesterday? If so celebrate...Tomorrow take 1 more than today. I like walking (bad knees), but its COLD outside. So join a gym, YMCA has reduced cost based on income.
You can do this and it will work. We can be our own worst enemies.......don' t let it get to you and you will be successful. I have finally got my mind going in that direction and I know that I will succeed but it may take me longer than I want it to and that's OK.

Thank you so much AKAFIT. I prayed and started back up. I realized I'm 31 and it takes more work than I thought. I going to continue to workout and push myself. Thanks again for the support.

Don't get down and don't beat yourself up. Take it one day at a time. When you get discouraged and down on yourself, you are often setting yourself up to fail. Every workout isn't going to be 100%, kick booty, workout. I have been working out for a while and there are still some workouts that I just can't push anymore than I am pushing. So, just know that you WILL have those days and they ARE normal. Keep it going...you will be fine.

Today was pretty hard for me. I was a little disappointed this morning working out. It was so hard for me because I am so out of shape. I'm felt sick to my stomach. I even cried because I couldn't believe I allowed myself to get out of shape. I gotta lose this weight for the Air Force. I going to keep telling myself I can do it.....:)
