Wow, you ladies all sounds so active (treadmill, tea, bike, LONG walks) its just great for inspiration.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes. We had a wonderful time at the spa although the look on my DH's face when asked which fruit juice he would like for his "delicious welcome drink" was a picture. He was rather expecting something of the fermented variety! He quickly grabbed a menu to check they did serve wine with meals!

The room was beautifully decorated with a private outdoor area and a little lounge. We spent time in the sauna, indoor pool, outdoor vitality pool and hydrotherapy pool. I went in the steam room (DH hates steam rooms) and the experience shower - now that was an experience! I had to dash out when the iced water hit my head and took away my breath! We never made it to the gym - now I wonder why?!

It was a very long drive both ways and we had to be back for some internet fibre installation on the Wednesday so couldn't stay over with DD. We did break the drive up to have lunch at a lovely, quaint old English pub.in Wiltshire.

Back into the full flow of work now - we have so much to catch up with before 16th September when we go back to Florida! Living in two places sounds exotic but it is rather exhausting too.

Have a nice day everyone, stay cool in this amazing summer heat!

Oh my! You ladies are nuts! Love it!!!!
Okay - here we go!

Yiddle.... Hot there I see. Hope you had a good walk!
Sheila - Were you able to go for your walk? If so, hope it was great.
Norma - What did you do first? Tea or Treadmill. I see that could be BLOG all in itself! That would be a fun one.

Okay - for you peeps wanting to know where I LIVE! I am in Washington State! Greater Seattle area. I am about 50 miles south of Seattle.
Nope - no "EH's" here! LOL

Okay - an eventful day at work. Some interesting stuff. My job is ever so different from day to day, even though just like any day - it can be mundane. I so wish I could work part-time or retire. Oh well!

Any other questions that you peeps want to know about me? Hmm.
Married 15yrs, got married later in life. First marriage for both of us. No kids.

Okay - I have to go watch Project Runway - new season tonight! It's on now.. Talk to ya tomorrow night!

Have a great day/evening ya all! (No, I am not southern).

Hi all, sorry I have not been on lately. Monday I was too tired to do much of anything. We did go down to the plaza with our own lunches and then on to the library. Tuesday was a heatwave so I didn't go out. We walked in the hallway and cleaned house. We did go out and sit in the shade for about half an hour. Wednesday I had a meeting to go to at 1 pm but that was all I did outside. My daughter came over very late (after midnight) to return some money she had borrowed so I had a hard time getting to sleep.

Today we went shopping since I had been broke since she was supposed to return the money before this (which is why I waited so late for her to bring the money). Leon wandered away from me in Walmart so I got a little upset but things cooled down. He had gone looking for a restroom but couldn't find one so he just kept walking around. I led him to a restroom and all was fine. I finally found him and I led him to a restroom and then everything was back to normal. I got back in line to get my drugs and then got the things on my shopping list. But that was frightening for me.

Well it is now time for me to head to bed. Goodnight all.

Already 86F degrees this morning. Temperature climbing.

Kiwi and I had a nice walk about before the sun heated things up.

Then Joe drove me to the mall even though his chest is congested. I bumped into a favorite walking buddy there, and we walked for an hour. So I am nearly at my 10,000 step goal for today.

Joe has returned to bed. Of course I am worried about him. That's my job!

Time to get moving and keep up with Norma. Slept 10 hours, that's my cue to have a good day! We had planned a 20k walk, rain moved in early, so hope it clear up so we can head out later.

Do we know where Deb lives? Let me see, she is an hour behind me so that has to put her in Pacific time zone, right? I am assuming American, as she has not said "eh" yet. Be easier if ya just told me, Deb, BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA . I could be at this for weeks narrowing down all the Lowe's in western USA.

If you are wondering about us, or where we live, actually, Deb, most of us have it underneath our posts in the "signature box" from your home page.

I think most of us write how we talk, so you fit right in. Nobody puts on airs here, lol. We'd trip ourselves up somewhere along the way, lol. So, for instance, I laugh a lot. My posts are full of lol or tee hee or some silly giggle. It's because I live in Alberta Canada where we can have snow in May and again in September. Have to laugh to keep sane emoticon

Better go to bed in case I am awake at 3am again talking to our UK gals, ALICE, SUE and ANGELA. (ALICEANDANT, NOWISTHEHOUR, and BUBBLYFISH). Cannot believe I forgot Sue's stage name, I will have to go look and then edit, haha. Oh right, NOWISTHEHOUR! Sheesh.

I am going to bed even without Delores or Dottie telling me it's bedtime!

Oh man!! I am going to have a dickens of a time to try and keep up with all of you! Yikes!
I am going to keep it somewhat simple tonight. I am tired and just got on the computer here (it is 9:45pm).

I did a very quick scan over the posts and need to read them closer when I can take more time.

Yes - I do work. HAHA! You are so funny! I work full-time, then have my "health" appts, massage 1.5x a week (one whole body, and the other just my legs to help me still recover from an injury 2.5 years ago (getting out of bed). Yes, you heard me right! That was awful and extremely painful and off to the ER at 2-3am!

Anyway...Work and my appts keep me busy. I am finally getting some breakthrough and getting more active and independent, but not where I want to be...YET!

Thanks for the comments on the kitchen!
Yes, the countertops - that is just from Lowes, and is fairly inexpensive, but looks expensive!
Oh yea, we LOVE the floors. Have had compliments on that. Seeing it in person is a whole other story!

Okay..I am signing off. Tired. Off to work tomorrow. Night night all. I will touch base tomorrow. Have a great morning/afternoon/evening...depending on your timezone!!!

So, you like my writing? Hmmmm. Are you being serious or silly or a little bit of both! I tend to want to write, like I may talk. Now, if I am at work, I have to think it through and make it much more professional! Ewww... LOL

Wow! Your weight loss is inspiring.

I accomplished good things today. Got the yard debris out after the garbage pickup, but it will keep in the huge container until next Wednesday, and that's OK.

I registered our cell phones into the "donotcall.gov" list again. We are getting way too many calls. Takes a while to stop the calls, but enough is enough.

Got a good walk in the mall this morning, and two doggie walks with Kiwi.

Joe has a bad head cold. He didn't nap the entire time we were away, and his body caved. Darn!!

I have the energy to accomplish more, but want to keep the place quiet so Joe can get some rest. He's not much on using medications, so he'll just sleep it off.

My dear Pam hired the landscaper she uses on her property management business to remove a 50' pine tree on my property that is next to our neighbor's driveway. Can't let that darn thing drop any more limbs over there. Could be dangerous for cars or folks.

What fun you are having ALICE and DAISY LEE! Dayna and I would fit in nicely, tell Steve to double the order of a fish and chips, we are on our way!

SUE, sounds like your Ralph was plum "cream cracker". Love that! Hope he is better now.

NORMA, you are on inspiration! Must just about be at goal now! I forgot to look at your entire post, but will when I hit POST.

I got my hair fancied up, touch of copper red in front, I know I am getting old, but not going quietly! Picked up some new makeup, I will be a new woman!

JEAN, I knew you would find your MOJO, and sounds like retail therapy and fun with Megan was all that was needed! I enjoyed seeing Megan post on FB that she was with you. Charming granddaughter.

Supposed to have coffee with some friends today, but no walking plans yet.

Hi gang, Daisy and I had the most lovely day, got a train to the end of the pier and back, not much at the end but a cafe and the lifeboats.
Then Daisy took me to her favourite restaurant Bobby Joes, OMG dont know how I have ever missed this it was great, 1950s USA style place with a jukebox and the old booths, all the waitresses wore the 50s dresses and make up and the food was excellent I had a BLT sandwich and waffles with maple syrup.
We then went to the aquarium, very interesting, I could hardly walk the length of the seafront back i was cream crackered.
Managed to stop off at the shops for Daisys birthday present...roller skates and pads, its not until August but thought she deserved an early surprise, of course she wants to go to the park tomorrow and try them as she cant get a speed up in the garden.
Steve is bringing in fish and chips as cant raise the energy to cook

HOPE YOUR ALL HAVING A GOOD AS DAY AS ME

Morning
We slept in today. Very unusual. I think we both needed it.

Garbage pickup is today, and I have some yard debris I need to get out, so I have to scurry a bit, to take my shower, walk Kiwi, and drag stuff to the street for the garbage pick up. Oh, well. It won't stink, so if I miss this week, it can go next week. Not sorry we slept a bit longer.

Morning all, sort of missed yesterday. Had to do all the shopping and cleaning at parents myself as hubby had a 24 hour thing! So got home shattered and then making sure he was okay.We think it was too hot at work the day before and he was moving furniture and not drinking enough water,so wiped him out, so he drank lots of water yesterday and stayed in the cool and is as right as rain this morning.

Sherry busy making new walks, trying to fix the message board reply thingie and getting some sleep, woo hoo

Alice, pleased the meds are working better for you

Glad the therapy helped, but it's tragic that sometimes we have to make choices about pain relief, or other needs.

Today was fun with Megan. Guess I'll get my mojo back, and get moving again.

Tremendous walking; first in the mall after breakfast, then shopping with Megan and finally back to the mall after Pam stopped over and the three of us returned to the mall for our evening walk.

Didn't accomplish much on the home front, but retail therapy was fun.

AMMAMMA, thanks for asking about me. Communication problems kept me from getting my pre-consultation testing done, so I had to cancel and reschedule the appointment with the surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic. The new appt is for Aug 4 and I sincerely hope all goes as planned and I will then get a date for the surgery. As for the TV, we exchanged it for another new one this past Saturday, and, so far, it's working beautifully.

ALICE, have fun with Daisy! I want to go with you on the train ride!
So glad to hear your legs are feeling better.

SHERRY, you can't hide from me!!! Your walks sound gorgeous. I can't even get around my .25 mile sidewalk! Hopefully the chiropractor will help and I can get back to walking. But it's been pretty hot and humid for much of the summer so far and that is NOT ideal walking conditions.

DEB, so good to see you here. I looked at your kitchen also and it's gorgeous! I especially like the countertops. Well, and that floor!

Hi to everyone else, JEAN, DOTTEE, DELORES, BARB & ROGER (if you're still reading), JOJO, LOLA, ANN, GINNA, RALPH, SUE's 1&2, ANGELA, LYNN, GINNA, who have I missed?

I went to a new chiropractor yesterday. It was kind of gruelling because I had to have x-rays done and it HURT! (Standing is not my strong suit!) But the electro stimulation on the lower back and the ultrasound treatment they did on the upper back and neck really helped. But, Medicare will only pay for the adjustment, and the other therapies they want to do cost $20 each visit. That would be do-able if it were only once a month, but I have to go again tomorrow then after that, who knows.

Didn't do much....just took it easy today. Sara, our DD finally got her dentures today and will heave to go back for adjustments if she needs any on Thursday. Our DGGDIL Maria who is a dentist is helping her great-aunt cope with the initial awkwardness and the consciousness of wearing dentures & eating with them.

Jean what fun checking out all the national parks...a treat for nature lovers, great you managed the senior discounts... certain privileges of ageing....JOA..

Debbie you do write interesting posts & have had everyone covered....

Sherry you know watching industrious animals is a great stress buster....I can imagine what fun it must have been to watch those squirrels. Your walks too sound great...so happy that you are back in your element.

Alice for sure you will have a lovely time with Daisy....

Gayle when is your thyroid surgery scheduled? Oh & did you manage to get your new TV issue sorted....

Missing Ralph and his funnies....

Hugs, prayers & blessings to all

Quick Sherry POST, here's message window! Sheesh, still having issues.

ALICE, thanks for the reminder! "Make hair appointment". DONE! I was looking at the pics of Tommy and Daisy, good golly they grow fast, don't they! As D2 says, thank heavens we don't!
How are the legs?

JEAN, might as well take the rest while you can, you will be on top of your game soon enough and we won't be able to keep track of you!

DEB, you mentioned you work. Do you have to do that often? Haha. We are quickly retiring our painting company, just me being the last hold out and catching a job here and there. Some of my clients remain very special and loyal. The extra income always nice emoticon

Gayle, how's it going with you? I managed to come out from under my rock, thanks for searching me out.

Heading out tonight for another River/Ravine walk in Edmonton. Our club has 10 walks over 10 weeks in the summer, all Tuesday night walks, all very hilly but gorgeous to walk. We generally get 35-40 walkers out on this night alone.

Better get some of my chores done. I am wrapping up door prizes/gift packages for our Volunteer Banquet coming up Saturday night.

Trying to find my constancy here at home once again. It will come, I know.

Today we are meeting with our grand group of artists for breakfast at a nearby iHop restaurant Always inspirational to be with those talented folks and hear what is new and exciting in their worlds.

Kiwi is adjusting to being home with us. Bless his little heart he just can't get enough snuggles. It seems he would crawl inside us if he could, he gets so close. Silly doggie.

Pam and I walked after her work day last night. Nice to get that routine started once again.

Hoping to find the energy to get the house back up to snuff. I am doing little projects to tidy up, remove dust bunnies, and wipe out the spider webs. Wow! Where do those nasties come from anyway? This morning I cleaned kitchen counters. So at least I made a healthy start for the day.

BBL Sending hugs to all. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi everyone, I am having a devil of a time getting my iPad to trigger a message board. Not sure what's going on, but here I am!

Walked a terrific 10k tonight with my buddies, through a campground, along a golf course, along the North Saskatchewan River deep in the ravine. Managed to avoid mosquitoes with proper bug spray. I have been getting lots of walking in, better get the totals entered on the so read sheet!

Deb, you are doing reall great checking in as often as you do. It's fun to hear your news and I certainly ejoyed your kitchen makeover.

Welcome home Jean, sounds like you had a good time and enjoyed riding side kick.

Ammamma, always fun reading your posts and imagining life in India with such an extended family.

ANGELA, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I know I am a day late but I could not trigger a reply button yesterday and gave up in disgust! I hope you had a great day.

Been smiling here at my little red squirrels. We know they live under the shed in the back yard, and move up into the shed in the winter to hide their food supply. I checked recently and saw we had left a box of big green garbage bags on a shelf in there. Those monkeys had taken all the garbage bags out of the box and tossed them on the floor, then filled the box with peanuts from the neighbourhood feeders. So Terry took the box out and dumped the peanuts into the fire pit. For two days we have watched the squirrels carry them back into the shed. It's rather funny.

Suzie, ALICE, Angela, I have been sleeping all night, means in don't chat with you guys! emoticon

I always know when it's time for bed when Delores and Dottie post! Think I still have some time!

Hi everyone!
Okay, give me some time to get to know who is who on here! LOL

I had the great pleasure of having to work today. Eww.. But, better than not working that is for sure. Sure wish I was independently wealthy and could work part-time! Not sure about that, but can hope. Came home, watered a few plants outside, and gave the bumblebees that are all over my lavender plants...yes I said plants! I have quite a few of them right now.
Anyway - I love to mist them nicely. They don't get mad, yes, they may do a little fly by me, but don't attack me. We have this understanding....well, I think we do anyway!

Hubby is getting us a watermelon from the store (he is going to be 50 this year). yes, I married younger. Wait - I think that actually makes me 53 (not 52). Oh who is counting anymore!

DeloresThomas - Sounds like you had a great Sunday! emoticon

Nowisthehour - Thanks for stopping my Project blog and seeing my kitchen remodel, flooring. It has been a lengthy project, but sure is worth it seeing it all come together! My hubby is the best! emoticon

Angela - Happy Birthday! emoticon

LoveGerry, AliceAndcat and Yiddle - Hello! emoticon

Grandgerry1 - Thanks for the welcome! emoticon

Okay, if I missed anyone or screwed up on who is who.... Just beat me with a wet noodle! LOL

Have a great day tomorrow (Tuesday)!
Deb

Yes, indeed. That hole in my first sock is now knit shut. The second sock is started but back headaches curtailed knitting in our road trip. I was able to easily work on my very large print "Word Search Puzzle" book. That kept my eyes off the road and my nerves calm. Joe did all the driving again. We took my car, but he drove everywhere. Bless his heart.

We were able to see Hot Springs, AR; Mammoth Cave, TN; another park in TN was mostly closed due to road construction, but we had a beautiful drive through the Smoky Mountain Park system in Virginia. So we have checked off four National Parks. We were able to visit all of the Presidential Museums on Joe's bucket list, but feel we'll never live to see the 48 National Parks. They are all worthwhile, but there are just too many of them, and we are elderly now. Sh-h-h-h-h-h don't tell anyone. It's nice to get a break on hotel room prices.

Hi all, We had a lot of fun today. We went with our church friends to a close by state park for church, a picnic and some fun and games. We went to Potato Creek state park which is about 25 or so miles south of town. We had a guitar for music with words printed in the bulletin so we could sing along. The preacher had us divide into 3 groups and work on questions based on the sermon topic. We gave our ideas then he added his ideas to it.

We then had a wonderful picnic. Each family brought at least 2 dishes. I brought a pasta salad and mixed fruit salad. Thre were many beautiful dishes but mainly the usual food of American picnics like potato salads and fried chicken.

Then they set up corn row games. This involves a board on a slant with one hole towards the top. Then there is a set of 4 beanbags (sometimes filled with dried corn instead of beans thus the name). I truly do not understand the rest of the game except you throw the bags to try to get them to stay on the board or better yet go through the hole. I cannot do it very well so I just watched. We came home about 2 pm. Wonderful day.

Angela, May I be the first to wish you happy birthday. I hope you enjoy your days together.

Goodnight all.

Hello everyone!

We have had a good weekend so far. DD and her DH came down to collect their four kitties. We have been kitty sitting while they were away in Vegas. We had a lovely day together doing nothing but chilling and chatting, watching the storms and of course eating.

We had a little Raclette party for dinner before they left to head back to Staffordshire, complete with their four meowing cats. It is very quiet here today without them and the garden looks strangely bare.

Hello Cocoa and welcome, I'm not around a lot but I'll look out for your posts when I am.

Tomorrow is my birthday and we are going to a spa. We will stay for the night and spend following day enjoying the pool, steam, sauna and hot tub. Then drive home again as we have a very busy week in the office - well it will only be three days for us but I'm sure we will make up the time next weekend.

Have a lovely week.

Angela xx

Good morning from a hot and muggy Southend.
Yes we got to go to Adventour Island the weather was great up until 9.45pm then the heavens opened but that was Ok cos the park shut at 10pm and the kids had been on every ride. I am so glad they are old enough to go by themselves now as my ride days are well and truly over, but I did go on the ghost train and the blooming thing stuck and we had to sit in the dark for 10 minutes...spooky!
It was a terrific fun evening though.

SUE Ha ha yes it might be fun to live together for at least half an hour.
Glad you enjoyed your meal, very sensible menu.

IRENE Your pics sound great, perhaps you could sell a few.

COCO emoticon To the best team on Spark, hope you stay so we can get to know you.

DONNA2 So happy for you getting to see the Grandkids, bet your so excited, hope the house is child friendly by now and you can relax before the whirlwind hits you.

Good to see you again Norma.

Welcome Cocoa, great post, you have to just jump in as we don't pause for breath often lol

Sounds as if you and hubby are busy would love to see pics when it is finished. I believe Washington State is a beautiful place.

I live in the UK along with Alice, Irene, Sue2 Angela part of the year and Lynn..who have I missed? That reads wrong, we don't live together haha, although that could be fun for a while lol

I went out to lunch yesterday with sons, dils and gd, to celebrate them all having their bd's last week. Hubby couldn't go as he was at work. My boys treated me, I just had jacket potato, no butter, grated cheese and a side salad, no dressing and was satisfied with that, it was delicious.

Horrible thunderstorm in the afternoon that lasted about 2 hours lots of amazing lightening and a couple of cracks that seemed as if they were right over our house. Lots of flooding in our county and roads closed because of it as it came so quickly, no time to drain off.

Alice, did you get to the adventure park or was it bowling? I love bowling, but quite expensive now!!

Quiet day today, I hope. just preparing meals and reading, got a new book to start not sure if I will like it so will see.

Have a great Sunday

Hi on Sunday , yes as Alice says the weather is big news here , either very hot or huge thunder and lightening storms ,
We are having a quiet weekend . I did collect a stitched picture I had framed, I left another one for framing too. The latest one is one of a series of ladies in hats from over past 150 tears . There are more to do but I am running out of wall space !
Dottie that's what I want to do ,concentrate in healthy eating and exercise but recently I did just that and ignored scales, I was so happy for a while . But when I did get weighed I had gained a few pounds . Seems I relaxed too much , so it's back to watching all I eat and do. I refuse to calorie count ,track food etc, I have enough to do without all that. I never did get to grips with tracker on sparks . At my age I should be able to relax a little about weight !
Have a good day where ever you are. Ree

Hi all, we had a quite day today. We did walk down to the library to return some books and to reload my IPhone with audiobooks. We then walked around downtown just to see what's happening. Then we came home and had lunch. I watched the women pro basketball all stars in the afternoon and started watching the Cubs game. They were losing and that's when I remembered I need 2 dishes for our picnic tomorrow. I now have a pasta salad and a fruit salad.

Cocoa--Welcome to the group. We are a wide spread group who share our days and support each other. Gripes are allowed and instruction and help appreciated. Good to see you.

Well. I have to get to bed. Goodnight.

Seemed to have fixed my issue of the reply buttons not working. Cleared my cache and data. Sheesh!

Coco, sounds like you now need a good house painter! Big grin from me as that is what I do (did) for a living. Great to see you posting and sharing your days with us. If there is one great thing about this team, it's that we are all great on line friends, and love to know what is going on within our friends lives.

I am Sherry, also known as Sheila, and I live in Alberta Canada. Couple of Mattie's daughters, 6 grand kids, two grandpuppies, and a love for walking with Volkssport walkers.

Drop in often, or you will find you CAN'T FIND your last post. We tend to talk a lot. Easier to keep up in the summer as we must all go outside!

I would love to see your pictures!

HI there

I am new to the group and here is my first post to the chatter box. Hope to get to know you all here!

Good morning! Beautiful Saturday here (Washington state), Greater Seattle area.
It's "cooled" down a bit for a few days since the upper 80's-90's that we were having. It will be a nice 73 degrees - perfect temps for the next week before we inch back up again!

I am chilling out today. My hubby and I (well, he is doing the work), but finishing up putting down our wood flooring (kitchen, entry and hallway are 99% done.) just need to do a few more things and can check that off the LIST of things to do. Then it is time for the new trim board to purchase, paint, and install.! PHEW! If you want to see pictures, I can post them later on the main wall where it will let me! :)

Oh, and then he gets to take a break from our kitchen remodel, replacing of our internal doors from (the pressboard oak), to white doors. What a difference! He has done all the work so it keeps the price down for us. PHEW. Oh okay.. I chatted a bit much for my first post to ya all. Sorry!!!!

Hi everyone,

Just getting my house child ready. My two nine year old granddaughters are flying in early tomorrow morning with their mother to stay a week or so with me. I have not seen them for quite a while.

The weather is great here, and I hope it continues until next week. I am looking forward to being outdoors part of the time while they are here.

I do not want anyone to send them any kind of cold rainy weather. That is an order.

O.K. back to work. Laundry to go in the dryer and laundry to go in the wash. Such excitement.

Norma congrats on your accomplishment. That is just wonderful. So happy for you.

SHERRY Sounds like good things ahead for you and your walking group, so pleased you joined a!
See your having rainstorms too, they are not leaving my garden lush and green though more battered and waterlogged

Hi all, The first thing we did today was laundry and the walking back and forth gained me a mile. We then went to the concert by the fountain and listened to country music. They did a wonderful job. We then returned home to wait for the inspector. After that we each took a short nap. It seems I need naps everyday anymore.

Tomorrow there is an art fair downtown and we are going to wander around and see what we can see. I also have to make some dishes for our church picnic on Sunday.

So I will say goodnight until tomorrow.

Greetings Angela! Hope you get that massage. Oddly, something I did not enjoy, perhaps it was the deliverer!
I am having issues with my reply button. Seems to not want to trigger a new screen and reply box. Hmmmph!

Yes, Norma, just fantastic! You were here before me and I am not successful like that!

It was also good to see you and Gayle welcoming our newest visitor. Maybe I have not scared this new gal off, haha. I swear, everyone I greet, never shows up. I am going to pass on this part of my job to Donna. emoticon

Heavy rainstorm yesterday, now it is lush and green. Cooler too!

Good morning, yes, still breathing!

Love your picture! ALICE! Sorry about the cigarette issue, damn things!

Gayle, thanks for checking on me. I had posted a long one couple days ago, lost connection, lost post, lost temper! Sheesh!

Keeping busy here, creating walks for the club for next Canada Day, here in my home town. We have to publish our events in a magazine which goes to print in September, need all in place for that. Another road trip coming up, maybe two, gotta enjoy this weather, it will be winter again soon enough for us.

Enjoy your day!

Morning all.
Got up at 6 to do the ironing as they say it will be 84 deg later and thunderstorms forecast from tonight until Sunday night. At nearly 8 am it is already too hot and humid lol, so got the fan on and not planning on doing too much more today apart from making meals etc

Got my repeat blood test results back and am NOT pre-diabetic woo hoo, however I am still changing how I eat to make sure it doesn't happen again

Just finished the 2nd book in the Scott G Marianni series on Vampires, first one called Uprising and the second one called The Cross, very good. I am not into the vampire craze but these were very good books. I love him as a writer and have read all 6 in the Ben Hope series that he did.

Now to find a new book while this weather is so draining

Hi all, sorry I did not get on here yesterday but I was very busy. I went to my meeting as usual at noon. Then I had books to return to the library. When we got back from there my DD Ida came to pick up her birthday present and put the present for DIL in her purse. She couldn't save me some of her cake ( there are 4 kids visiting) so she bought me a fresh one. Then it was time to get ready to go to the play The Producers with my friend Christine. When we got back we all cut into the cake. Christine and I visited for a while then she left and I crashed

We went shopping today to the local grocery. I took my list with me and we pretty much stuck to it. As we walked down the streets you could still see the results of that wind storm. We then got back home and find out there will be inspections tomorrow. So we cleaned up and now I'm heading to bed. Goodnight.

Hello Gayle, Sue, Alice and Ree! Good to see you all.
Today I have to start getting ready for my trip. I leave early Saturday for our annual week at Hampton Beach. My son and family are driving me up there. And I have to go over to the Historical Society to help send out the newsletter. My DD will be taking care of my house while I am gone.

I have decided not to worry about my weight so much as long as I focus on eating healthy food and get my steps in every day. As long as my vitals stay good, that is what's most important. I do not want to miss happy times with my family and friends.

Have a terrific Thursday team. Eat healthy and exercise. emoticon

Hello on Thursday, phew it's hit and we don't cope well with heat well in UK !
I need to go to the next town today so may going early on the first bus we can use our free travel passes. Here it's after 9 30'. I am going to collect a oicture I had framed , I have another to take in to be framed,
Alice with a tan I love the picture . My husband loves the small apple pies too and they are all pastry really , I am trying to wean him off them , I suppose we can't substitute fresh fruit,! No chance ,
Dottie what a good day . Cholesterol results excellent and winning on a lottery ticket. There should be a third thing, as they should go in threes?
Angela , gaining weight is a set back , I have gained but not brave enough yet to get on the scales., let's be positive and say we can deal with this, we are strong, that word came out as string at first, yea right I feel like knotted string at times .
Mani I love the thought of you and dh doing notes on the I pads it made me smile I must get a I pad for my husband , he's deaf but won't agree he is, it's me and everyone else who mumble!
I hope all our team members are well and we all have a good day, Ree

SUE, so sorry about your uncle. I'm glad he didn't linger. I hope he had a good life, we know he had a long one.

ALICE, love your profile pic. I'm happy to hear your back is better. I've been having to put heat to mine lately. I have a chiropractor appointment soon. That should help.
Poor Steve indeed. But you're taking good care of him.

JEAN, taking off the unwanted weight is something you can dwell on in TX. Family is more important in my mind. Enjoy yourself to the fullest! It is cool here, too. Sounds like a good excuse to shop to me!!

LOLA, how wonderful your weekend sounds! I need one of those.

Hi to DOTTEE, SHERRY, RALPH, ANGELA, LYNN (where ever you are!), ANN (prayers to you and Stan), JOJO (where are you?), DELORES, ROGER & BARB, REE, AMMAMMA, GINNA, and everyone I missed.

I'm scheduled for the parathyroid surgeon again on Aug 4. I'll be there all day seeing him and repeating the nuclear scan (two part test 6 hours apart). But first, prelim tests at local hospital. See if I can get things done this time.

My new tv quit working today. Big bummer. Howard can't take it back 'til Friday. Lots of reading for me these next couple of days!

Michigan has extreme chill now bc of a polar vortex that is blowing through. I didn't bring clothes for chilly weather like this. Didn't even reach 70F today. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Great family times. Overeating, hardly walking enough. My weight will be just awful. Lots of great food and special desserts. Oh, my.

Great hugs, smiles, and memories. All the great stuff to warm our hearts.
