Yes, it can work. These two have flagrantly broken two vital home rules, and have no regrets. They moved in bc they each walked off their jobs, got into deep debt, and lost their apartment. To so totally break House Rules is unimaginable to me. Texas has hiring signs all over the place, but no, they cannot find work bc they don't want to work (in my opinion.) They are 22 yrs and 24 yrs, so able to work hard and save for their future. I hope my son can sort them out. They honestly do not listen to my DIL, and even mock her. She's been emotionally unstable for years, but to use that against her is unthinkable.

Gorgeous weather here. Cooler weather forecast, too. Yippee!!

Good morning one and all, been up doing web master club for my club, honestly wonder if I will ever learn how it all works. We have a walk and pot luck, so a ground beef meal is in the slow cooker.
Let's all be quiet for ALICE.
JEAN, I truly don't understand when kids live at home and don't pay their way. I guess it has to be experienced to understand. I have 2 grandkids living at home, but working, and each pay $600 for room and board, a fraction of what it would cost them to move out. But they also have "MOM's" house rules too.
RALPH, you feeling 65? Missed having a birthday party for you here, rats! Many more birthdays to come!

Very funny, but probably has more than a grain of truth in it. Texans do LOVE their trucks. Many households have at least one truck or the driveway or garage. Lots of gals own and drive them, too.

My needy DIL called this morning and wanted to talk. So I picked her up and drove to the Water Way where we could walk and talk privately. Spent four hours with her. Lots of tears on her part. She seemed to be doing so much better, but their daughter got married and moved in.. It has not been a good situation. Mostly I just let her vent. My son called my DH tonight about something else, but asked Joe to Thank me for taking so much time with MaryAnn. My Joe would have kicked those two inconsiderate unemployed young people out, except they're broke and have no where to go. That just exacerbates the situation. So many promises were made before the young folks moved in, but none of the house rules are being followed. They've brought pot and vodka into the home, when my son and DIL neither drink nor smoke. Don't know how they get the funds for that poison when they're broke. Extremely sad and troubling situation.

I had good walks today, and hope my listening did some good.

Texas - What Happens When A Wife Goes Missing ...

A husband went to the sheriff's department to report that his wife was missing:

Husband - I've lost my wife. She went shopping yesterday and has not come home.

Sergeant - What is her height?

Husband - Gee , I really never noticed. Maybe about five feet tall.

Sergeant - Build?

Husband - Not slim, not really fat.

Sergeant - Color of eyes?

Husband - Never noticed.

Sergeant - Color of hair?

Husband - Changes a couple times a year . .. . maybe red.

Sergeant - What was she wearing?

Husband - Could have been a skirt or shorts. I don’t remember exactly.

Sergeant - Did she go in a car?

Husband - No, she went in my truck.

Sergeant - What kind of truck was it?

Husband - Brand new Ford F150 with Eco -boost V6 engine special ordered with manual transmission, four-wheel drive, tinted windows, custom matching white cover for the bed, special alloy wheels and off road Michelin's. Wife put a small scratch on the drivers door.

At this point the husband started tearing up and almost cried.

Sergeant - Don't worry, Bubba ..... We’ll find your truck.

Good morning everyone, Friday already!
Walking early this am to visit David and get pointers with my Samsung phone. BIG step for this gal, as my other phone was from my DD many years ago. This new one is wifi enabled, so as long as I just use free wifi, I can stick to my extremely inexpensive cell phone plan. At least, that the idea!
He is also leaving for AZ till spring and I am house watcher while he is gone. I should repaint it when he is gone, pink maybe. emoticon
There's frost on the roof across the street, my morning walk will be a bit chilly maybe. Well, better get used to that.
Enjoy your day!

Hi all, I was still quite tired yesterday. I did get to the party that our Senior group at church. Most of us dressed up in costumes. Some were quite unique. Our hostess had the best one. She was Fred Astair on one side of her body and Ginger Rogers. One lady had a tee shirt with ceiling on it and had pompoms that she twirled around--not a cheerleader but a ceiling fan! One had a baseball cap and had a leaf hanging in her face--a leaf blower. I put on my new pink cowboy hat and was a pink cowgirl. I put a cowboy hat and a flannel shirt on Leon and he was a cowboy. Neither one was very unique.

That evening I went to our Bible study but we were doing service projects instead of studying. We wrote cards to all the students from our church who are now in college and in need of encouragement. We also wrote some cards for soldiers who are overseas since a local grocery is collecting them to mail to them around thanksgiving.

By the time I got home I was too tired to do anything but go to bed.

Today we wanted to do laundry so we went to the store to get laundry detergent just in case we needed it. We had just enough in the old bottle to do all the wash. We finished that and walked down to the duck pond to feed the ducks. I had invited my friend Bob to come to dinner since I had a nice frozen enchilada meal to put in the oven. He said he would bring some things too. He brought some bread sticks and pizza rolls. A lot of carbs so I ate only a little of it. He really put the food away and enjoyed himself and I enjoyed his company.

This evening I watched the Thursday night football games and the Broncos won. That was nice since I was rooting for them. My favorite quarterback has moved to Denver and Peyton Manning had beat Bret Farve's passing touchdown record. Well anyway I will head for bed now. Goodnight.

When I increase my calories for a day or so, it seems to help the pounds come down again. Perhaps you are not eating enough. Not sure. Keep at it. I stabilized for a long long time before I started the slow decline again. I am steady at 119 now, but would love to see 115. That's my ultimate goal. I feel good, and that's super important. Still have a tummy, but I only walk for exercise without AB exercises, so my tummy may stay with me.

Ants. I do so hate any kind of insect that takes over my peace of mind. We have an abundance of little spiders in here. I kill them when I discover their webs, or see them. Haven't had an exterminator in years. Roaches are not a problem. Those give me the heebie jeebies.

Had a great mall walk with a mall friend this morning. Hit my 11,000 already. Yeah!!

DIL Delores and I worked on our burlap crafts last night. I need to finish mine up with a glue gun, but basically it's done. Burlap is the theme for our Quilt Festival Soiree next Wednesday at 1:30p. Silly little gift exchange will be fun.

Take care all. I am knitting on my second sock of the pair I started last week. Coming along nicely.

What an enjoyable conversation this morning. The key word today is "bugger". Just make me giggle!
You may have heard of the killing of an unarmed soldier at Canada's National Memorial in Ottawa. The cenotaph is a massive reminder of 2 world wars and also a bronze casket with maple leaves on it, in various conditions of decomposition. "Tomb of the Unknown Soldier" It's very symbolic of the deaths war has caused and still causing. It holds the remains of an unknown soldier killed in Europe. I have been here, you can literally feel the electricity in the air when your mind grasps the scene. The gunman eventually killed. It's been a sad week for the military.
ANGELA, you and me both on the slow but sure downward trend with the scales. Time for me to change my ticker, doctor appt today, hoping my blood sugar and cholesterol numbers follow the scale drop since my last visit. Lab results next week likely as it is Thursday already.
I miss going to the intimate little theatres. When DD Kathy was early teenager she was very prominent in a theatre group, getting many great reviews for her singing voice. Allow me to burst my buttons here.."with the true soprano voice of Bernedette Peters." Now with my hearing so bad, it's not an option I choose. Good news though, I believe they now have hearing aids with Bluetooth and they will link to the sound system. Soon as we pay off the furnace....lol!
Norma, I was thinking more for you, grin, on a fitbit. You like keeping statistics and Fitbit links to the computer and keeps all your stats daily for you. You would love that. How about asking family to all chip in and pay for a Fitbit for you. It is also the perfect reward for 7 years of persistence with your weight loss.
Best hit the post button before I navigate away from this page and lose my post!

Norma hope your ants are gone soon. They can be very persistent little buggers!

Donna, your day sounds great have fun!

We went to see a play by the Charlotte Players last week. It's an amateur dramatic group in a very intimate little playhouse but the quality of the acting was superb. The Cemetery Club was about three Jewish ladies who's husbands had passed and they visited the cemetery together every month. The things they got up to - it was hilarious and at the end a little sad but we thoroughly enjoyed it and will return for future productions.

Today I made my mini target of 165lbs. Yay!! Speaking of which I must go change my ticker and add my new target. I'm taking baby steps because I get depressed by big ones I can't seem to achieve within a reasonable time frame.

Have a lovely day friends.

Good morning,

No swimming this morning. I am off on a day trip. We board the bus at 10 am and then we are off to Upper Canada Village golf club in Ontario for lunch and then a play at the Upper Canada Playhouse for a 2 hour performance of "Rock and Roll." This is a lovely playhouse, very intimate and I have seen a couple of good plays there. The trip is with the 55+ Travel Club, which I am a member. We are told to bring our bags as we will stop at the liquor commission to buy some liquids. It is quite cute to see us all tumble off the bus with our bags and to haul them out much heavier. Apparently, wine is cheaper in this province. Then it is back home and hopefully a very enjoyable day will have been had by everyone.

Have a great day everyone!

Back at home in Port Charlotte after another busy time in Davenport with more painting, pressure washing etc.

Yesterday and today I did my yoga, walk at home and knee exercises. It always seems difficult to get back into them after a weekend away even though the weekend was just darn hard physical work. Guess I'm a little bit stiff from it and I made my left knee really sore with all the kneeling painting round the pool screen.

We get a lot of ants and we have a contract with a pest company for the villa in Davenport. Last time we called them out the guy told me to just buy Terro liquid ant killer drops and put a few where the ants are. They take this back to their nest and it kills them off whereas most ant baits just kill the local ants and then the others follow the pheromone scent to the dead ants and eat them causing even more ants to arrive in your home.

We have used these several times now and they work within a few days every time so far. Now we can save our call outs for the more nasty creatures that may visit!

Here in S New Jersey this year was a banner year for them. I keep calling back the exterminator and he keeps telling me EVERYONE is suffering with them. Now that it cooled down they have gone. Hope you experienced the same!!!

NORMA, hope you beat the ants, but JEAN could be right and you will need to call in the BugBusters. We get ants every spring. This year was the least of any year. When you start eliminating products that were designed to keep our grass green and healthy, you have far more problems to deal with.
Our weather is holding for another week so I am still walking in a light weight long sleeve t-neck and vest. Hats and gloves soon to come. No wonder seniors go to Arizona or Florida when they live in Canada!
Good news that Joe is feeling better. I was becoming worried at his long illness.
And, DELORES, I felt so sad for you. Just was a good thing we were not there, they would have had an earful! And RC would not have held back!
ALICE, sure would be nice to meet each other's friends. I am thinking Pauline and I would get along great!

We've had pharaoh ants here a couple of times in the far distant past. Bad buggers for sure. So tiny you hardly see them until they move or have a nasty trail of them. Both times we had to have an exterminator come in and thoroughly disinfect the whole food preparation area. Ours were coming in around the sink plumbing which had to be sealed off. I had tried vinegar, bleach, and even insect sprays, but those didn't work long term until we got their access blocked. So sorry you are dealing with them. Great exercise to strip and clean though. Grins.

Delores
It's hard to get over being tired and hungry. Glad you were able to calm things down with your family. I'm sure they love you, but at times are just not aware of the frustration you face daily having to depend on others. Hope you are rested up now so life can be pleasant once more.

Still deliciously cool weather here. Kiwi and I enjoy being outside. Joe decided yesterday was a great day to wash our cars. Monday he helped in the yard, and Tuesday he washed our cars, and blew the leaves out of the garage. He has to be feeling so much better. Of course I helped! I always pitch in when he tackles a job. We're a good team.

Enjoy being productive today whatever you do.

Hugs

Hi all, Sorry I haven't been here for a while. Sunday I went to church planning to just go to Sunday school. My DD was supposed to pick me up at eleven am to take us all to Valparaiso for my BILs birthday party. I called her at 9, 10, and finally heard from her at nearly 11. She had slept in so we would be late, very late. We didn't leave my church until 1 pm and arrived one hour later. By then I was starved and charged the food table. Later my BIL teased me about always having something in my mouth. I threw a hissy fit and ran out. My DIL and my DD helped calm me down. I guess part of it was having my nerve meds late too.

We all went over to my sister's apartment when the party was over. My DS and his whole family, my DD and her 2 kids, and Leon, my cousin and I made quite a crowd. We had a very good visit and I apologized as best as I could. By the end of that day I was exhausted. We ate soup for dinner and went to bed.

Monday I slept until noon. I did get up and fix breakfast but went back to bed. I did go to my Bible study but went to bed early.

Today I am still not completely recovered. We did go to Walmart for a few things. I needed refills on my heart meds. But I truly didn't do much else today. Well that is a.summary of my weekend and beyond. Now I'm heading to bed. Goodnight.

Yep! I just cannot make the iPad work for me nicely either, except for reading. Reading and Fitbit syncing (when we travel) were the two reasons I wanted an iPad anyway. I cannot charge my Fitbit through the iPad, but it charges directly through the USB port adaptor from electrical outlets. Since I now sync through my iPhone 5c, the iPad is basically an eReader. I agree $100 is quite a commitment and investment, but the motivation and tools are unparalleled. I had pedometers that were over $50.00, but didn't work as well for me.

Hm-m-m-m-m Did Terry give up coffee while he was away? Maybe his sister was the coffee maker and he decided that was a nice touch. Joe doesn't drink coffee here at home, so my Keurig is the right way for me. Throwing 2 cups away from my four cup coffee maker each morning just didn't make sense. At least that was my rational. Tee-hee-hee.

I am drinking Pumping Spice coffee now with Pumpkin Spice Sugar Free creamer. Having a pumpkin bagel with pumpkin spice cream cheese adds a nice autumn flavor to my days. Trader Joe's has an awesome array of pumpkin themed treats this time of year. I had a field day shopping there last week on the way home from teaching.

Good morning and the first thing I have to say is NOW MY COFFEE APP IS NOT WORKING!!!!! I am still making my own coffee in the morning. Maybe it needs a boot....oops, I mean reboot. :-)

I am on my lap, have gone back to using a note pad to move along the posts on Spark to try to reply to as many as I can. Heaven knows my memory is always so bad I forget someone, only to remember when I am walking. So maybe my memory is just delayed, grin.

NORMA, I did not find a Fitbit under $100 anywhere. Either on line or in stores, but as difficult as it was for me to spend that money, I am now very pleased I did. My DH was not sure about it, really thought it a waste of money, but I spend a LOT of time on computers and devices and I need the motivation and the challenges from Jean and Angela to move my feet. It is not that I don't walk, I just don't walk every day! I need a dog app. :-) So I highly recommend you get a Fitbit, and I decided against the bracelet. The clip on will give you instant readings as to what you have done to that moment, ---- Steps, Stairs, Calories, Miles, Time. The clip is extremely tough, it will not let go. I wear it on my sock, tucked against my skin. This is sock country most of the time anyway, not so for you.

I did a lot of research when deciding which way to go, bracelet or clip. That might be your best bet to get a better idea which will be best for you. I have always thought your step count is far too low. Same for RC, he badly underestimates how much he is on his feet in my estimation, but he is afraid to over claim. Sweet man.

JEAN, I remember you and Marie meeting at the Quilt show and still have those pictures! You will enjoy your day, hope you find some good ideas and some special fabric to create a masterpiece.

SUE, I am happy to hear MOM is doing better, but yes, likely more days ahead like that. Nothing like a few needles to mess up your day/week!

ALICE, got a chuckle out of your comments and read them to Terry, He cannot imagine you being a mad professor, grin. Terry said "you go girl" for the cake!

Thanks for the comments on MJ and her minor surgery. She had her left hand done for Carpal Tunnel problems. Her right left hand will be done after Christmas. The procedure took 15 minutes, but we sat in the waiting room for quite a while, partly because we were far to early, and then they were late. I said it was the longest we have ever sat and talked without a glass of wine in our hands! And on that note, her surgeon asked her what she wanted for pain, and MJ said "Anything that goes with wine"
You might think we gals like our wine?

ALICE, speaking of emoticons we need, I always wanted the one with the tape over the guys mouth. :-)

OK, lets give this a whirl, must say it was faster to type on the computer than using my iPad Mini.

How is MJ doing?
How was your walk?
How is Terry's sister, and did his extended visit help her out?
What are you up to these days?

Take care of your self.

Alice
Hair cuts are always lifting for me. Glad you got that dreaded flu shot. Joe cannot have his until he gets over this nasty cold. He seems to be on the mend again. Fingers crossed. He got better and then plummeted several times before he saw the doctor. The antibiotic should certainly help prevent relapse this time.

Ralph
You are really busy dear soul. High activity level is good for you as long as you don't wear yourself out. Stay healthy.

Norma
Happy hunting for a good pedometer. You'll eventually find one that is just right for you. Three of us ended up with the Fitbit which suits us just dandy. Glad you continue to be active even without a gizmo to track your steps.

Sue
Happy for you and your family that your Mom is back to where she was.

Joe's sister, Pauline, seems to be on a nose dive that makes us all uneasy for her. She is in an elderly living situation, but her memory is going bonkers. Even confused about who she married, and his occupation - - arguing with her daughter about her Dad. Silly woman. Sad.

Delores
I was enticed to consider some ebooks from Amazon, but decided to try the library instead. So I have three paperback book requests now. When they come in I'll make time to read them for free.

I'm trying to hold down my spending until the quilt festival so I can have fun without regrets. The Hen House (quilt and yarn shop) closed last year, but is going to have a huge booth at the quilt festival. That makes me happy. I'll be spending time and money in that booth for sure. DIL Delores and I are both getting our shears sharpened at the festival. The company that comes each year does a great job, and all the quilters trust them implicitly with their specialized tools. They carry all the newest gadgets, too, so that will be a major stop for us.

Cool weather is here to stay for a week, and I intend to soak it up. Only hitting mid 80's once all week. Yeah!! Joe even helped me with the outside cleanup yesterday. He must be feeling better. Grins.

Off to get ready for my day, and get dear Kiwi out for his morning routine. Love my little four-legged friend. Such a cutie!

Be healthy, productive and enjoy every minute. Share your smiles today!!

Morning all, I am back at last. Spent a few days with parents, mum doing okay now, in fact back to how she was, we can expect more of this though I think.
Then we had Emma at the weekend, and Monday Ralph and I had routine Dr appts, well mine should have been routine then she noticed I needed a tetanus booster, which also includes diptheria and polio boosters...great so now I am bruised and my arm is really hurting, said it could be painful for up to a week! Oh well I am done now.

Sorry to hear MJ had to have minor surgery, hope all is well with the recovery. All I can say to that it is better than major surgery!

Hope you are all doing okay, will catch up as I go

Hi everyone

Eye check up today. All is the same but I have ordered sunglasses. I have a lot of trouble with the sun and I lost my clips. Doctor suggested perhaps I should try frames so I have ordered them. Hopefully this will help.

Sorry S1 that you are having trouble with mini. I would be glad to help out if you describe what the problem is. I am sure I can solve it. emoticon Sorry to hear MJ has to have some minor surgery. Hope all goes well.

Quiet today on the chat. I managed to get my swim in and then met my friend for a light lunch. Have a jolly evening everyone.

I don't like my iPad for emails either. I use my desktop almost exclusively for internet. I love my iPad for reading ebooks and periodicals, so it has its place. Sorry your iPad is giving you such frustration.

Ouch! an hour. I don't like to sit here an hour. Yuck!

Off to pick up yard debris and enjoy just being outdoors again. Temperature is wonderful so I might as well get out there. Still 75F. Yummy

Here's the link for the Fitbit Flex jewelry bracelet.

Very attractive. Wow! If the Flex tracked stairs, I might consider it next time.

Kiwi's morning walk was cool. I didn't grab a sweater, so felt the chill. I carried a jacket to church for the AC, but never needed it. The crisp autumn weather feels great.

I am really looking forward to the Houston International Quilt Show. I'll look at fabric (of course), patterns, yarn and beads - - - All under one roof, so much fun. I love seeing samples all made up. That does entice me to buy if I think I can handle the challenge. So many wonderful quilting friends will be there. My DIL and I will cruise together plus we're meeting up with our Girl Friend Sew group, and friends from Canyon Lake. We'll be whacked out before the show ends. Hopefully I'll keep long range goals in mind, and not go off the deep end spending on goodies. I was careful last year, so think I can do it again.

Good morning.

Lovely day here but on the cool side. I am off to church in a few minutes. We are having a brunch which is a fund raiser.

I saw a gorgeous gold plated bracelet advertised somewhere on the internet that surrounds the Fitbit Flex turning it into a piece of jewelry. Over $200.00, but truly attractive for a professional who wants to wear it to meetings and consultations. I don't remember the bracelet company. I love bracelets, but don't have a Fitbit Flex. I wonder if your daughter has seen the beautiful bracelet idea.

Norma,

Mine is a fitbit one as well but my daughter chose the flex as she liked wearing it on her wrist instead of clipping it on. When we walk together she gets more steps in than I do and I reckon it should be the other way round since she is taller than me. I checked mine a few times after I first bought it by counting the steps I took and it seemed pretty accurate.

Checking steps does get quite addictive. On Thursday one of our daughters challenged me and our other daughter to a days high step record and I won it. Any other day it would have been one of them who won but Thursday we took the morning off and walked and cycled on Gasparilla Island so I clocked over 17,000 steps and that was before I knew about the challenge. As soon as I synced my fitbit I overtook them both!

It is great fun encouraging each other to get off out butt and move.

I cannot tell you how many pedometers I went through before I finally got a Fitbit. This one is a keeper, and I love it. BestBuy carries them, or Amazon, or purchase directly from the Fitbit site. Angela and Sherry both wear a Fitbit, too. Sherry and I wear the Fitbit One, but there are several models to choose from. They are accurate, and sync to SparkPeople - - - a nice feature.

Great exercise even if you didn't get steps rowing your canoe. Nature is so thrilling up close. Great experience.

Kiwi and I had a short walk after breakfast. As long as I don't pull him too far, he goes along with a nice walk. Such a reluctant little guy, not brave enough to take longer journeys some mornings.

We ran errands this morning; I walked the mall, and we strolled through an outdoor art fair. Wonderful weather for being outside. I have 8,000 steps, but will easily reach my 10,000 goal by nightfall. Because I'm not walking my extreme amount now, I've gained a couple of pounds. Need to step up the pace again.

Hugs always.

Happy Saturday!

We started our day with a 3 hour canoe trip down the Myakka river to Tippeecanoe bay where we sat just feet from an Osprey. Awesome!

Have a lovely day.

Good to keep your options open. Your party sounds delightful.

Delores
Always good to meet new folks who can become a part of your neighborhood lives. We have great neighbors here. We've lived in our house for 33 years now, and have come to know and appreciate others who share our street. Friends keep us grounded. A warm church family helps in all ways possible.

We had a lovely visit with DIL and son last night. She bought me a Hawaiian tee shirt and tickets to the quilt show - - - my thank you for keeping Bella. Yeah!! I look forward to Houston's International Quilt Festival every year. We'll travel together and shop our hearts out. Some of our friends from Girl Friend Sew meetings are staying in the hotel physically connected to the festival for two nights during the show. DIL Delores and I won't join them. We thought about it and decided to spend our money on other things.

Our friend from Canyon Lake, Charlotte (Rudy's owner), is coming to Houston for the quilt festival. We'll keep Rudy for her while she stays with another dear friend for the weekend. Delores and I will join those ladies for a quilt party before preview night. Their preview party is traditional. I attended a few years back, but it's a long drive across town so didn't keep going. They're great friends and I'll love being with them again. Charlotte and I introduced Delores to the group at festival last year and Julie invited Delores to join their group for the preview party this year. DIL Delores is driving. Yeah!!

Saturday. Love it. Got to get busy now. Sun is up, breakfast over, and Kiwi is waiting for his first walk.

Hugs

JEAN Thanks for that info I think in your case I would have had the injection, the Doctor did say I could still look at this option in the future, so I will wait and see what occurs.
I had that cortisone injection in my wrist and like you I sang its praises, my wrist has been fine for 2 years now.

Lovely sunny day here, washing blowing on the line, Steve mowing the grass and friends coming this evening for an Indian takeaway, so all well in my little world.

Hi all, busy day again today. We went to Walmart this morning. We got there at lunch time and went over to Subway and I bought us each a six inch sub. Then while Leon ate I went to the hair salon to get my hair cut. After that was done I ate my sandwich then shopped for a few things. I needed a gift for my secret sister at church.

We later went to the library to return a book I forgot to return yesterday. Then we had a small party to go to that they called an open house down the block. People from our building planned this party so we could get to know each other. We only stayed for the first hour and met 6 or 7 people but it was a start.

I'm now going to bed because I have football to watch tomorrow and a birthday party for my BIL's 80th birthday party following church on Sunday. Goodnight

I have a ruptured disc in my spine. I had a cortisone injection in the spine above and below the disc where the damage is. It was miraculous. My pain has been gone for 18 months now. Do look at the complications as explained to you. I sailed through it just fine. The spine doctor said it works in 90% of cases, but not all. I am so grateful it worked for me. I hope you find relief. Hugs

I taught school first period this morning, but have a break. Take care everyone.

Good morning peeps just walked to shops and back, nice to poodle along with the sun on you instead of fighting with an umbrella.

The consultant rung me this morning and he has conferred with another consultant (smile) and an alternative for me is to have an injection in my spine, they do not knock you out and there could be complications, I have opted to stay on the tablets with a view to increasing the dosage if the pain in my legs gets worse.
At least now (after fighting with the Doctor who said I had rheumatism) I have a name for the pain...damaged nerve ends...and know I had a choice to correct it. END OF SAGA

Hi all, I just lost a nice post. Oh well. My friend Bob and I were trying to get together today. We finally ended up meeting at the library. He walked with us to the store and helped us carry the stuff home. I then fed him dinner and he hurried off to his meeting.

Leon and I watched the football game and now I am heading to bed since Leon fell asleep at halftime.
Goodnight

Joe went to see his doctor on Tuesday. He got up long enough to eat some breakfast and returned to bed. I made the appointment while he slept, and told him, "This has gone on long enough!!!" [over two whole weeks] He went alone to the doctors, didn't want me to go. We picked up a prescribed antibiotic for him that evening. He is still sleeping a great deal. The doctor ruled out pneumonia and bronchitis. Wants to see him again for his regular check up and give him a flu shot when he is well. I am reassured, but still concerned that he couldn't throw off this cold. He'd get "better" a day or so, and it would return with a vengeance. Still sniffling.

My American Sewing Guild meeting was hysterical. Lots of fun. We had show and tell first - - - I took my three autumn themed table runners. Then we bought silk scarves, and a special colored tissue We wet the scarves and put the colored paper bits all around the scarf; rolled it up; and let it set. We had protected the tables with garbage bags, so the dye did not do any damage to the JoAnn Fabric store classroom where we meet

When I brought my dyed scarves home, I rolled them in paper towels before hanging them up to dry. I have to wait 48 hours before ironing to heat set the dyes. Mine are pretty. I dyed three scarves and one wide long one - - - more like a shawl.
