Busy with errands and repairs most of the day. The sun was out this morning but the wind was blasting. Next two days will be sunny emoticon So I can do some outside sunny stuff!
Got caught in the rain on my walk this evening emoticon but I out ran the storm. Zander was tired and started walking slow towards the end, or he was punishing me. emoticon

Hope all are on track and accountable. SHERRY you enjoy your last day

Such a globe trotter. Your walks sound wonderful, and all those flights. Wow!! I could use some of those. At least I am walking again. Love every step.'

Safe travels wished for you and your friends.

I tried to enter my steps for this month, but somehow my brother's computer wouldn't let me enter numbers. Don't understand that. Hopefully I didn't mess up anything on his computer.

Last day on the island! We head out to Brentwood Bay for another hilly walk. Yesterday I registered 99 flights of stairs on my 21 km of walking. Then we will go to Butchard Gardens to see flowers. Flight out at 9 pm.

Afternoon friends.

Finally able to get on briefly from my brother's place. Not reading just popping in to say hello.

We're heading out for lunch, so I can't stay. The guys are hungry.

Sending hugs to all of you. I did walk 10K steps yesterday for a first time in days and days. Felt good. Dodged the raindrops.

Hugs,

Good Morning:

First off let me thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes and goodies. It's really great to be remembered. Yesterday was very special. My son called in the morning to wish me a happy birthday and immediately afterward my daughter and sil took me to brunch at a local restaurant. The brunch was terrific and their bloody Mary is the best I ever had. Following lunch my daughter came to my home and set up my birthday gift. My son and daughter and their families got me a Sonos speaker. It's connected to my IPad and gets me all sorts of programs from all over the world. I'm just interested in the classical music stations, many of which do not have advertising. The sound system of Sonos is extraordinary...the very best. I listen to classical music 24/7 and since I screwed up the HD radio I had downstairs, I was unable to figure out how to get HD2. This happened a couple of weeks ago and I haven't had the state 24 hour classical music station since. Now I have the world.

Thanking you all again for the birthday wishes and also for your wonderful support as I face the upcoming shoulder surgery and extended recovery.

Gail

Norma: We have flea markets out in the country, but not here in the city. Too bad, it's great to go around looking for that possible treasure. We do have garage sales here but the idea of getting in and out of the car driving from one place to another is not something I care to do. The only time it's good is when there is a neighborhood garage sale. You can park, make the rounds and then be on your way. Haven't done that in years. May do that this fall when I can drive again.

Alice: I saw the pictures you posted of your yard and you have done a beautiful job. My landscaping is all very low maintenance and all bushes, shrubs, etc. are perennials. Unfortunately, I have a lot of shade and there are not too many perennials that do well in the shade that provide lots of color. Those that do are short-lived. May look into seeing if there is something I can find that will fit the bill, but it won't be till next year. Just too much going on right now.

Ginna: Great that you got out for a walk. I can't seem to get myself out of the house even in the beautiful weather. That's a great advantage to having a dog...you have to walk a few times a day.

IAFAWM: I guess our weather is like yours. It's wonderful to have sunny days. As for the weight loss insights, yes, I know what to do. The problem is I cave when life gets stressful and I turn to food. It's very hard to control and I've go to find a solution. I've regained 15 of the 24 lbs I lost. Not good....

Donna: Thank you for your suggestion. Why didn't I think of that. Several people have offered to help and the idea of arranging for just one to come one day the first week is a workable solution. An alternative is to see if there is a "wake up/tuck in" service provided by one of the home health agencies. I think I will just need to have someone help me dress and undress each day. Thank you so much for your encouragement.

Sue O: Thank you so much for the animated birthday card. That was so thoughtful of you. Sue, what does "sectioned" mean? I've never heard that term. Do you own your home or rent? Do you have certain restrictions regarding outdoor structures, parking etc? Here some areas are pretty easy going, but in others there are restrictions: no fences, no outdoor clothes lines, no outdoor storage structures, etc.

Bethann: So glad you had some nice weather and were able to enjoy your coffee outdoors. It will probably be weeks before we get any days like that. Unfortunately, cold, cloudy weather is the norm most of the year in Wisconsin and it is tiring.

Sherry: A 10 K walk...how great is that!

Angela: Love the photo photo of you and your friends overlooking the Myakka river.

Jacqui: A DIVA 1/2 marathon in pink tu-tus ! Never heard of it. And how could you miss it?

Sue 2: It's great that you go to lunch with your good friends and neighbors who are so much older than you. I love the idea of multi generational friends. It's very enriching to have friendships that are diverse. One reason I've shied away from senior communities is that there are only people over 65.

Good morning friends!

An early start for me. 6:30am start so I can escape for water aerobics at 10:30 and not get behind on my work.

DEBBIE I loved reading your post. I can imagine bathing suits in the 50's, we have a boxing day swim in the sea every year, not that I join in as I'm strictly a warm water swimmer! Well done for reviewing your weight loss progress, plateaus happen to us all and a reminder to check out what we are/are not doing is great.

ALICE I'm in awe of your 3 mile walks, I only seem to make 2 and that's a struggle! I think I can walk 10 miles just walking outdoors easier than I could do 3 miles with Leslie.Your garden is wonderful, you must put in a lot of hard work out there but what a wondeful place to sit and contemplate the meaning of life.

JAQ It was wonderful to meet up with Jean and Joe, my first Spark friend meeting. I hear you had a great time together - it's a bit like internet dating! Not that I ever did that but I did warn the children not to meet with anyone they met online. LOL!

SUE and NORMA Please pass some of your cleaning bug my way! I seem to run out of time to clean, even getting the clothes ironed is getting pushed aside!

Oops I am getting carried away writing and I should be working. Just had a reply to my last email so I'm off for now.

Have a lovely day. emoticon

Good morning gang walked 3 miles with Miss Sansone and thought I would have a rest and a chat to you lot emoticon

BETH How lovely to be able to "sit out" its a lovely day here and I badly want to play out, plant my new plants and get dirty, instead I am doing housework boo hiss
The apple tree isnt going to be allowed to grow massive in fact the smaller it stays the better.
We have no trees in the garden but I would like an Acer too.

SUE The old Neighbours are going Friday so I am assuming the new ones will be in Fri/Sat
Yes very strange about the house next door, how nice it would have been for Sue to be your Neighbour.
Steve has taken a BIG tree in a tub into our garden to look after for next door, until his SIL can collect it, I am fuming!!! He has stood it in front of the kitchen window and I cant see out.
I hate the bloody thing its too heavy to shift. thanks for letting me moan twinnie

JAQ WOW! sounds very wet there, hope its dried up a little now.
I think you got me mixed up with someone else my 5 miles was 63 minutes BUT I do have a
5 x 12 minute DVD and your right at the end of every mile she jogs for 2 minutes, I dont do that I walk VERY fast.
I can actually see the roll of fat round my waist getting smaller, so seeing results even not much action on the scales...just as you always say.
And lastly no one was more ASTOUNDED than I ...exercising after binging emoticon

DONNA You mentioned your recovery after your operation and it made me think "boy how long ago was that?" I remember you felt like Gail.

GAIL Your on the right road...go back to what worked the first time you lost weight.
Thats why I am still here on Spark...that and Leslie

Ok cant put it off any longer HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GOOD DAY

Good day to all. Sunny, but cold here still. We went to a friends' yesterday for lunch and actually managed to sit in the garden afterwards with our coffees. It was lovely and (I hope) a foretaste of summer to come!

Jaq, sorry for your rain, ugh, it puts the damper (literally!) on everything. It's so interesting to hear of all the different weathers from all over the world!! Well, ok, not quite all over the world, but you know what I mean!

Gail, I'm glad to hear you had a good birthday. What good news that your daughter is coming to you after surgery. That will ease your worries a lot I'm so sure.

Alice - Leslie after a drinks evening? Wow, you are some girl! Fantastic. Your garden is going to be fantastic too - I envy you the apple tree, wonderful, I've always wanted one, but our garden is too small now - we already have two small trees (an Acer and a Autumnalis) and DH won't countenance any more!!

The day is just starting here (OK, I'm a late riser) it's 10am and I'm off out!. Hope you all have nice days.

Happy belated birthday Gail, sorry I missed it, should remember as it is the same as one of my aunts emoticon

Pleased you had a good time, with family

Foggy and cold here, hope it burns off so we can have some sun.

Alice, so pleased you enjoyed your drinkies and nibbles with your neighbours, when do the new ones move in? The house next door to us sold the first week in January, supposed to be the daughter of a couple opposite, so she grew up here, but not seen anyone yet, not even looking round before it sold. That was 12 weeks ago and nothing, no workmen, painting, carpets, nothing, very strange!! We share a path with them so it will be good to see if it is them, but at the moment it is quiet, lol.
Only a couple there before renting from a guy who bought it, but the woman had mental health probs and was really bad and kept being sectioned. That was a nightmare and the police were there every couple of weeks and even had to knock the back door in with one of those big lumps of wood, too much excitement for me. The landlord said they had to go and she was sectioned again and then went to her parents and he re-housed the young man in a flat a couple of miles away. Obviously then decided to sell the house lol.
Kept trying to get Sue M and her hubby to move in before they sold it, but sadly just too far for them to travel to work!!

Well off to do some walking and then more cleaning if we can't get into the garden, see you later

GOOD EVENIN FRIENDS, emoticon

Fun weekend with Annabelle. She got some new toy and really liked and played with it. Something she had her eyes on a long time.

We had rain and rain and rain again then torrential storms. Nothing drastic like the tornados west of us. We don't usually get those. GINNA hope your storms passed quick and without problems

ANGELA great picture of you, JEAN and Joe. I am so glad you got to meet. Such a wonderful trip they are having and getting to Spark with us.

SUE you have NORMA's cleaning bug and need to come to Myrtle Beach and show me how to do it all. It is a great evening when it is all done, linens all fresh, and garden managed. It will be a few weeks before i get to gardwning, if it every dries out some.

ALICE good deal exercizing after a night out. I was thinking about your 5 miles in 45 minutes and figure you are doing a 13 minute mile which is more of a jog. This should burn some good calories.

GAIL happiest of Birthdays. I am glad your daughter will be with you and I am certain friends will be checking in too. Don't be afraid to ask, they want you too.

SHERRY I am enjoying the pictures and the walking reports. I know it is a lot of fun and figure you must be running on adrenaline. It must be a joy seeing people from before. Of course they would remember you.

DEBBIE the blurb from the book is interesting. I am so stalled and racked my brain why. I think I need to track my sodium and see if i am holding fluid. My carbs are too low and maybe I am lowering my metabolism there. But I will keep thinking and try something new this week.

Hi DONNA, Glad you popped by. Hope all is well and you are in your bikini swimming now. Has the snow melted?

Hi everyone.

Very busy weekend. It all seems to come at the same time, so I have just had time to skim over all your news. Did enjoy the pixs and all of us are trying to get/keep those lbs off.

Gail,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR GAIL
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Gail what I did when I came home after my surgery was have a friend come in every day for a week to stay with me. It was a great arrangement and that way no one was committed to coming every day. All I needed was the week and I found out after that I could cope on my own. I could not take a shower as I could not get into the bathtub, so took my walker and toddled down to the pool and took a shower in the locker room. I had physio three times a week, then gradually it was twice, then once a week for 6 weeks. I truly think Gail that the biggest assistance was my friends coming in during the week to st ay with me. My son stayed at night for the week. I really know how frightening it is to be alone, but with a few tweaks you should be able to manage. Good luck, and although I cannot be there with you, I am only too glad to encourage you through Sparks and the internet. emoticon

Hi all,
Sorry so brief, but we're off to the beach for the afternoon. The emoticon is out! That only happens one day out of the year here in WA, so we have to jump on it in case it never happens again. Yesterday was a hoot, people in bathing suits down at the river, temp in the high 50s!!! That's called wishfull thinking folks. If there is no ice we swim too.

I am reading a great book, 'Don't quit, get fit", I am so enjoying it !!!! One of the things the author said, (she has been a fitness director for 17 years, and kept her weight off) is that if you are on a program and nothing is happening, don't just stay there! emoticon , how is it I miss the obvious? I have been on a plateau for way too long. She suggested looking over all the times you have lost weight and figuring out what you were doing right. How novel. (sarcasm dripping). I wrote it out on paper, and figured out that when I have lost weight it was on 1200 calories without exercise, and 1400 calories with 30 minutes of a Curves workout. So now I have a workable plan, and knowledge rather than just following the latest craze. Happy camper here.

Happy Birthday Gail, hope your surgery goes well, so glad your daughter is being sweet, I love it when my girlies are like that.

Beth you hit the laugh meter today, thanks emoticon

Sherry you need a scrapbook collection of you in huge chairs, so cute. I am SO jealous of your walks, can't wait till I can do the same. Then before you know it, it will be emoticon emoticon , yes? emoticon

Have a nice day everyone

Alice, you deserve flowers after managing Leslie after a celebratory evening. I would have stayed in the sack!

Happy birthday to Gail. Wonderful that you are having such a good day. It is so nice that your daughter can arrange to be with you after your surgery for a couple of days. It is nice to have daughters around - they are so likely to help when needed.

The rain finally took a break here so I got a 45 minute walk with Koby. That takes care of my DASH diet challenge. Now I have to get to the supermarket to pick up something for dinner.

Good afternoon peeps, well I enjoyed our farewell drinks with the neighbours, perhaps a little too much, they FORCED Brandy and lots of pickies down my throat, I kept saying "no I am on a diet" consequently I was very fragile this morning but after 3 miles with Leslie I livened up.

GAIL emoticon emoticon emoticon Glad your DD is coming to stay

JAQ HA HA at my garden exploding with colour because today we got some more plants and an apple tree...thats the lot now, well thats what Steve said as he has been footing the bill
Love the idea of your counting laps indoors...where theres a will!

SHERRY Sounds like your having fun as well as walking, I always look at how many miles youve clocked up

ANGELA/JEAN Lovely pic how wonderful to meet up, I can tell by your faces, it was well worth it.

SUE I got too many plants to name, shrubs, perennials and annuals...spent 130 including the apple tree and a bag of peat. Like you we have been moving some bushes around.

BETH See your stuck up today

ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY ALL

Good Morning everyone! Happy Birthday, GAIL! Sounds like your having a great day, too!

Love the picture of JEAN and ANGELA, (and Joe, too) so great when our friends can meet in person.

Moving a little slowly today, but it's not 8:00 am yet, so there is hope! emoticon

Lovely photo Sherry and it sounds like you're having a great time. You and Jean are top of my Fitbit friends and I doubt I will ever catch up but I keep trying.

Good Morning:

Time to cheer up. Today is my birthday and my daughter and sil are taking me to brunch. Afterward they are coming to my place to set up the special gift they got for me. It's speakers that are in different places in the house that have great sound. The music is somehow linked to the IPad. Looking forward to it.

I got a couple of birthday cards yesterday and one was from one of my granddaughters. Always so happy to be remembered. I wasn't expecting it.

I spoke briefly with my daughter yesterday and she will come and stay with me two nights following surgery. I didn't ask my daughter for help; she just announced that she would be coming. That is a relief. I think I was worried that I'd have to ask. If I still need help I'll have someone come in in the am and pm (wake up and tuck in service). I'll look into what is available this coming week.

Thank you all for your kindness and support. I truly appreciate it.

Gail

Sounds as if our UK friends are having some of our weather today. I was not excited to see the raindrops pelting down this a.m. Yesterday was less than wonderful, but at least our rain held off until evening so I got in two short walks. My steps were in the five figures which is where I want them. Hope we get some dry time today for walking. I'm sick of trekking in the house.
Enjoy your walks, Sherry!

It's very chilly here today. Been to church and also popped in on the other church to pick up a newsletter. Keeping my steps up! (and my points?!!)

We're out to friends' for a late lunch today, so I'm trying to be good on calories until then.

I broke my favourite pair of (cheapy) glasses and tried to mend them with superglue Not only did I fail, but I'm now smothered in superglue! I'm trying acetone to rid my fingers of it, but it's not going to be a quick solution. Boo! I really liked those glasses too. They were from our Poundsaver shop, but they seem to have stopped selling them now.

Well done Sue on getting your housework done (AND 6 miles!) Isn't it satisfying to get everything washed, dried and back in!

Morning all, where has our emoticon gone?
Oh well I made the most of it yesterday, washed everything in sight, bedding curtains etc and got all dry. Even pottered in the garden.

We have moved some bushes around and left some big planter empty for when the tomato plants are big enough to go in there, they did really well in there before a couple of years ago.

I did so much cleaning and gardening yesterday and moved around the house so much I clocked up over 6 miles.

Lovely pic of Angela, Jean and Joe, how great to meet up at last.

Great pic from Sherry as well, some great walking you are getting in, your core strength now must be amazing.

Alice, did you get any more plants, if so, what did you get?

Quiet day for me today, have a book I want to start, see you later

Hello team! Thankfully it is not pouring rain today. It is far from pretty, but at least it hasn't been pouring. Jaq, I think we are sharing a weather system. We will most likely have more of the wet stuff before today is over. You sound like me, getting in the indoor steps. I have two walk areas - going around my pool table 5 times tallies up 100 steps; the kitchen through the living room' foyer and dining area will yield 100 in 3 trips. Most of my steps have come from this lately.

Gail, I wish some of us were closer to you to give support and help during your recovery. You are really smart to practice before you are faced with using one arm. Will your insurance let you see the occupational therapist a few times before the surgery? It seems that doing so would ease your mind so much.

Angela you had the same reactions that Dan and I did on meeting Jean and Joe. They truly are two wonderful people. It is most enjoyable to spend time with both of them. I feel so fortunate to have seen them twice. I'd love to get together with them again!

Sherry have a great time at your walking festival! I know you are enjoying every minute.

I'm so thrilled! Jean and Joe just visited with us. It is so kind of them to take time out of their travels to stop by and visit. Thank you both.

This is the first time we have met someone that either of us have known for ages on a website and it wasn't at all as scary as I thought it might be!

What a fabulous couple, so full of fun and with a tremendous love for life (and each other). Jean is a beautiful, slim and vibrant lady and I'm so pleased to call her my friend.

Stuart (my DH) and I had a really good time chatting with them both. Hearing about their travels and Jean's amazing fiber art and supply teaching and .... well I guess we could have talked for ages. Maybe next time we are in the same area we will do just that.

Here we are on the balcony overlooking the Myakka river. Minus Stuart as he is taking the photo!

Good morning, nice chatting, but mostly I am just listening for a few days. Really sorry to know you are struggling, GAIL. You do remind me of the way our Donna stressed over her knee operation, so worried she woul not manage alone, but in the end all was so much better than she anticipated. I do hope the same for you.

We have 302 walkers registered at this festival. It always amazes me to see so many who enjoy walking. I have run into many from our Banff Convention who remember me. I was the person selling souvenier shirts, pins, etc, so I saw pretty well everyone last June. A real treat to hear their memories of the convention our club presented.

OK gotta get the day started! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

SHERRY you must be having a blast with all those walkers in such a gorgeous place doing the things you love. Wish I was there. I like the idea they have so many walks and trails to choose from.

Last week when I left my house to go meet JEAN I was rerouted through my neighborhood. I kept running into all these women in Pink TuTus and pink socks etc. It was the DIVA 1/2 marathon. How did I miss that? I put it on radar for next year. I just need to get a tutu. Maybe I can wear one of Annabelles.

ALICE you will have an enormous amount of plants and your grden will explode with color and texture soon. We have solid rain for over a week. Twice my walking has been indoors too. I have a path thru my house that is 50 steps. If ido 80- 100 laps I get 2-2.5 miles. I wear a step counter, I click my laps off with a row counter for knitting, and I watch the clock. I walk an 18 minute mile. When I compare all 3 items, it is spot on for my mile. Funny how that works.

SUE I think it is a good plan to make a special date to sit uninterrupted with friends you love each month. It keeps the time special and designated for each other without interferrence.

GAIL hiring in help will releve your mind a bit. I wish I could ease your mind with words concerning your recovery and your path back to fitness. The mental leap and affirmation is the key to any plan. We all know we need to et the right foods in the right proportions and we all know we need to move our booty consistently. It never seems to stick until we make that mental leap and get the train rolling. It occurs somewhere between self-disgust and I can do this. No one can give you that light bulb but your coming here makes me know you are close to making the leap.

BETHAN having a bum knee is the pits. Mine is acting up and I know somewhere down the road it will drive me into a doctors office. I know there must be one legged exercises out there but have not explored it much. I suppose boosting floor exercises that do not require a lot of weight bearing or shifting the joint.

NORMA wish you were here to help me clean my crsft room. I will make your lunch. I still have stuff piled in there from the reno.

LOUISE Hello to you. Hope your back is better and glad to see you back in BOOTY canp.

Alice, and Sue, good morning to you both. It's the UKers who are up this morning! Sun shining, a little chilly, but hey. The sun's out I can cope with a bit of breeze!
Alice, you're doing so well with your walking! I'm impressed, but also envious as I don't think I'll be able to do such activity for a while. emoticon .

Sue - that sounds like a really good day. What fun and what a great idea to meet monthly.

Now I'm going to read all the other posts and catch up ................... emoticon

Gail, I'm so sorry you're having a hard time even just preparing for your surgery. It's a daunting prospect. Once you've had it done, I'm sure you'll be amazed at how you can manage (I hope!) and if not, you may just have to buy in some help. It's tough that the insurance won't cover you, but the plus side is it's because you're fit. So maybe some comfort there? Jacqui's advice seems very sound and reassuring to assess your situation beforehand. May 8th will be done and dusted before you know it and you can get on with your life again.

My knee is still bothering me and I have someone on the Bonesmart site who is looking into possibilities for me. I see the surgeon again at the end of the month and I fear he's just gong to say - "nothing further to be done". He keeps telling me that all is fine, but if I have pain, how can it be fine?! Fine for him no doubt!

I hope you're all having sunny days and good weather from now on - summer's near!

Hi:

Well, nothing new on this end. I went to the ortho clinic for my pre-op tests and the social worker reaffirmed I don't qualify for the insurance because I'm in good shape, aside from the shoulder. Really thinking this over and very seriously considering paying for help out of my own pocket. I don't have full range of motion with my right arm so it's difficult for me to maneuver. When trying to do things using just my right hand/arm and keeping my left arm in a sling position, it's just not going well. Perhaps with some OT I'll learn how to do things better.

My food has been very bad and I I've gained back 15 of the 24 lbs I lost. It' like everything is falling apart. Gotta get a grip.

Sorry to be in such a down mood and thanks for letting me cry on your shoulders.

Gail

Had the most lovely day yesterday, hubby and I went out to lunch to a riverside pub with our lovely next door neighbours who are both in their eighties. They are such an inspiration, energetic, lively, the greatest company and such fun, we have all decided would be nice to do it once a month, even though we see them lots the rest of the time we never tire of each others company. Hubby and I are off out to lunch today as well will be a shock to have to cook tomorrow lol.
Hope everyone has a lovely day and the sun is shining with you as it is here.

Good advice from Jacqui!

First official day for the Walking Festival.

This is when I enjoy seeing my efforts recorded.
42,000 steps
17 miles
50 stairs.

The walks today were not as hilly, especially the morning 7.5 mile walk.

Then I thank SUE for the test.

Popping on quickly to speak to

GAIL. I know it is frightening to know you will be alone after surgery without medical assistance. mybe you can have a friend come stay during the day or call some nursing services for assistance. You will not need much medical care, just assisted day to day stuff. You will have limited use of your hand just not of your arm since shoulder will be immobolized. For now, you can practice by immobolizing your shoulder. You can just tuck it inside your shirt or tie something around you that mimics a sling that also straps around the back.
Now check your dishes and utensils that you will need. Opening doors, cabinets. Brushing hair, teeth. Loading dishwasher, or washing dishes. Dressing and going to potty. If you have long dresses or robes that will make it easier, then use them.
Just practice and think of things that might be a challenge.
Pick clothes, shoes etc that make it easier. get tiny trash bags that you can manage to take out.
And let your friends know you might need daily visits to assist in things you cannot do.
There are millions of one armed people that already know these things. Just practice being one and realizing, after a few weeks you will have a perfect arm.
Wish I was there to help.

Have to admit to fast reading this morning, but LOTS of it, and that's wonderful. My Fitbit tracked 11.97 miles, 29,000 steps and 53 floors,so I think I am getting some exercise!
Gorgeous here, room his great, lots of flowering trees.
This Walking Festival will have probably 250 walkers mostly from British Columbia, Alberta, Oregon and Washington. It's held ever 2 years, with walking events held over the 4 day festival. I will take my Mini today, my pix are on my camera and cannot download till I get home.

Good afternoon peeps, I walked 4 miles with Leslie AND did my housework, so i am feeling very smug at the moment emoticon

SUE I took a risk, even though it looked a bit moody and got 2 loads dry, keeping my eye out in case I have to make a mad dash for the third lot.
Glad every thing is well in Derbyshire.

BETH Thanks for the encouragement, I understand a bit more about your "fast" days now.

Good Morning:

Well, it looks like I won't be eligible for nursing home/rehab center through medicare or my insurance because I won't be ill enough. The social worker at the hospital told me I need companion care since I am fully ambulatory and have no other health issues. I'll find out more today when I go in for my pre-op exam. Guess I'll figure it out eventually, but it is unsettling.

We will have a beautiful day today and it should climb up to the 70s.

Catch you all later.

Good morning all,

Its going to be another really hot day here but it started out lovely and fresh after yesterdays shower. 6am to 8am is great then the thermometer climbs rapidly. Humidity is already at 86%!

Jean should be having fun in the Everglades now.

Have a nice day everyone.

Jacqui, well it's probably worth a try. If you look up BBC Horizon www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/.../wha
ts-the-right-diet-for-you Sorry, try cutting and pasting, I couldn't copy the link. It has a quiz you take to identify which type you are. See what you think. I'm not sure if the programme actually says consecutive days, but that's what I understood from somewhere.

Alice, it's not too bad once you've accepted that's what you're doing! It's because my willpower is low, that I'm having to do it!! It does mean that on other days I can eat more or less what I like. I almost look forward to fast days as a brake on my eating!! (or a break FROM my eating!) Anyway,, you're the one who's losing weight!! I wouldn't worry, whatever is working for you! Well done on 8 lbs!

Not so hot today, but still sunny; it'll do me! emoticon

Uh-oh, after I posted, lots of other posts popped up! I'd forgotten that happens here. Will read and catch up.

Morning all
We had one lovely day but freezing now, Alice hogging it all again!! emoticon

Seedlings under cover doing well, and new fridge freezer up and running.
I have batch cooked before Alice, but didn't have so much room, this morning I am moving stuff from one freezer to the other and clean the older one out and get rid of any ice build up ready to fill up again, so will be even colder, playing in the freezers, lol.
Doing a load of washing as well, but not sure it will go out as we may have some showers by the look of the sky

See you later, have a great weekend

Good afternoon friends!

I had a call from Jean this morning as she was passing by our hometown. Unfortunately I was on my way to our morning water aerobics but we hope to meet up when they pass by on their way home. We just exchanged Fitbit messages and Jean asked me to:
Say Hello to our friends on SP for me. Biscayne is lovely. Such a beautiful day, too.

Now I'm off to our weekly pot luck - so much to do here :)

I'm so glad to see you, Gail. Good that you have that sloulder surgery scheduled. It's also good that you can hold off the cataract surgery until you have healed. I don't know how you could deal with drops and one arm. It seems like dosing my eyes is all that l do.

I'm getting sleepy so I think I'll take a nap. Till later.
