Hi Millie, is it time for coffee? Your place will be spic and span when you come home. Always nice to go away, but great to come home to a clean house. Did you say where you were going? I forgot if you did. Hope you squeeze in some good weather. It's been fabulous here. We got a day or two of cold with a smattering of snow, but it's back to short sleeves and sunglasses again. Calgary got hit with a 3 day wicked summer snow storm, doing a ton of damage to the older poplar trees still holding all their leaves. I was there last week, clean up ongoing.

I see we have another new member today, hope to see Classy Karen pop in. It's been a busy week ! emoticon

Best try to get back to sleep, but wanted to catch you Sue before you left. Have a great holiday!

Morning all, what murky weather we are having here today. Have changed the bedding and the sheets, and quilt cover are in the wash, was hoping to get them on the line, oh well. Only time I wish we had a drier. Getting everything cleaned etc before we go away on Monday. Packing is done, apart from last minute washing stuff etc.
Sherry, Alice has had far more hols then me this year, this will be our 2nd...and last. Now last year when I was 60 we had 4!! lol

Elder sons wife got Christmas outfits for their 2 dogsa few years ago, son soon got rid of those, the Jack Russel just looked with disdain and the westie, just refused point blank to go anywhere near her while she had the outfits in her hand lol. My sons and hubby also say..they are dogs!!

Cleaning day today, right through the house, hubby is at work so no need to stop until it is done, meals for the weekend planned and prepared so we can go away knowing all is clean and tidy here.

Hoping to get back on here tomorrow but if I don't see you next weekend emoticon

JEAN, thanks for that. I had help from my daughter and she found the Fitbit app and it is now on my Mini. That syncs immediately for me, much better than me having to wait till I got near my lap top. I live in a cooler climate and so almost always wear socks, so my Fitbit is attached to that, folded down to ankle height. You are right, bending down to read it is not the best idea!

If you ever are tempted to get an iPHone, get a 5C or higher. The 5C syncs your Fitbit to the site, and you can read your progress without looking at the Fitbit itself. Very handy if you wear it underneath other garments. Mine is on my shoe, and I sure don't want to bend over to read it. emoticon

Hahaha, my Saylor hated boots and coats too. He'd kick till the boots were lost before the walk was done. Apparently he thought he was a dog too. Donna. Oh gosh, and now it is Halloween costumes for them!

Kiwi freezes like a statue if any clothing is put on him. I tried a sweater when it was really chilly (for Texas), but he would not move. I tried a rain coat when it was pouring down rain, and he would not walk at all. That was years ago, and I just towel him off now when he gets wet. He LOVES towel rubs.

Nice sunny weather here, so enjoyable. Sorry about those who are having rain that leads to flooding.

Warm welcome to our new members.

I am off to get mail, water plants at my sons etc. and then a pedicure is in order. Oh right, must make my bed. Rats forgot about that. Laundry done and in dryer and swimming done early this morning.

Sue nice to see you. What has been going on in your life?

Alice you are on the move again. Enjoy your friend and your trip. Sounds like you will have a wonderful time.

Hi Norma, you up?

S1 is off on another walk I see. Now I know why she has given up ironing. emoticon Between cutting carrots and walking, she runs out of hours in the day.

Ree, I know it must have been difficult for your husband to adjust to a visitor, but hopefully now that all is normal, it will be a bit easier for you.

Mani, keep well, and always nice to read about your large family. Thank you for sharing.

Gayle, you around? Have you seen Ralph? He seems to be missing too. Hope he is not having flooding problems.

Does Kiwi wear a raincoat when it rains? My girlfriend puts one on her dog Molly, and really it is adorable. My neighbor in my building has a dog Duncan and I asked him if he dresses up for the weather. His reply was "He is a dog!" That means no. lol.

Thanks. The rain is handled well in our community bc it's well planned. No surprises. Kiwi checked his doggie door, and then circled me and sat by the back door so I'd take him out. He does know when it is raining. I leashed him up and opened the garage door thinking he'd run back inside, but he barreled out the door to his favorite spots. He was a bit perplexed when the water rushing in the street toward the creek made walking difficult for him, but kept going until he was ready to come home again. Brave little guy.

The mall was crazy this morning bc of the debut of the iPhone 6 with a wide line twisting past 8 store fronts. The Apple store opened at 8AM. Two lines - one short one for prepaid preorders. A loud cheer erupted at 8AM when Apple opened and starting selling the long awaited phones. I walked upstairs to avoid the crowds, but could watch from up there as I scurried past them.

The rain has stopped temporarily. Sky lightening up a bit.

Ralph

Hello Millie, may I call you Millie? Seems like I have known you foreeeeever. emoticon
The Scotland vote seemed more like a cry for change, not major change, but change indeed. I hope things are better now and the mental split is forgotten.
You two gals, ALICE included are certainly having lots of holidays. I got in lots of visits to my own province this summer, I have been lucky too.

JEAN, Love the look of that new total! Seems it always leaves us something new to surpass. I added steps to my Spreadsheet, starting to feel more comfortable sharing that. I still enjoy keeping my specific walking goals separate, it shows without that intended walking, the kilometers ( miles) in a day would be vey low.

I concentrate now on my food intake. Too much holiday travel is hard on the diet, "diet" a general term. I stocked up on my salad foods again, spent time precutting carrots, celery, made my own croutons, baked up chicken breasts, that kind of thing. Faster to throw a salad together now. I need to kick start the weight loss again, starting the next 10 pounds. DRATS, it's not easy anymore, or do I just not remember how hard I have struggled in the past. Seems those of us who constantly battle the weight gain go at it over and over again.

Still lovely weather here, I have a 6 or 7 km walk to check out my walking buddy's home while he is away, pick up the Volkssport mail then home again. I can toss in a sit on a bench or a coffee on a patio, winter will hit us soon enough. Tomorrow is a double Volkssport walk, followed by an Italian meal with 2 friends. I could easily opt out of the meal, but one still needs to socialize and enjoy proper food/drink portions. I am driving myself, that will solve the wine issue. No one pushes a driver to have another glass.

Have a great day everyone, shake it up somehow, you will enjoy the change!

emoticon Hope your holiday plans turn out well for you.

We are in flood watch bc of all the heavy non-stop rain. Our community handles rain well bc of all the golf courses that are designed to take excess water, so we should be just fine.

Ralph
How are you doing with flooding? I see Phoenix got more than enough quickly, too. Let us know you are OK. Sending hugs

All is well here, just beyond soggy. Poor Kiwi. Good thing we had a decent walk last night as he will hate his walk this morning, but it cannot be avoided. Hard rain during the night that has not let up.

Morning all, Sue here, back again. Although we are like Alice and going away Mon to Fri next week, although we are going to Norfolk so may be a little cooler and wetter lol

Doing okay.

So pleased to hear the Scottish result, now we just want a fairer society for all of us, so tax the rich and the big firms who don't pay, stop the loopholes and there will be enough to go around for the rest of us then! lol

Packing today, then a clean right through at the weekend, Ralph is working Sat and Sun so I can have a good fettle!

See you later

Just popping in again it's the story of my life now. Never enough time or do all I want. After our sons visit this week we are still adjusting. My husband did not cope well with someone else staying as he needs his routine.
This morning the podiatrist is coming to the house to look after our feet, , then I what to go to town by bus for a hair do. One of our grand daughters is coming to grand dad sit and talk to him. Which will be good for him, he hates me going out and is unsettled until I am back. Which means I do everything fast with mo time to look round. Yes there are hair stylists who come to your place but I like the luxury of going to a stylist and relaxing for a while.
Just taking in news of Scotland's vote, not really surprised, money matters featured a lot and often the head has to take over from the heart . Have a good day , Irene

Kiwi did not get his evening walk earlier bc he doesn't like to walk in the rain. So he just got his evening walk. He really needed to go so I'm glad I got him out.
New total for me is 20,363.
I have to clean up a few things and then head off to bed. Joe already turned in.
Keep Pushing.
We know you can walk circles around me any time you get out with your friends.
AND You did it again. Way to go. Very happy for you.

Absolutely nothing in cans either. No pre-made dinners, or veggie portions. Check sodium content in beverages. The list goes on and on. Yes, Fresh everything that you'll cook up yourself without salt, or eat it fresh if possible. No salt shakers around within reach. Bad habit. Your taste buds will complain at first, but then adjust. After a while you'll wonder how you ever, ever ate such salty foods. We have cut back just bc we're older, but our taste buds have adjusted and now pucker up when served something salted. That's a good sign.

Delores
DH andI have been watching the Roosevelt series, too. So many things we didn't know, or don't remember.

Sherry
Good walking. Keep it up. You're getting closer. Grins!

Alice
Oh, my! Another Holiday. How awesome. Yes, enjoy the food while on Holiday, but plan to regroup afterwards. No sense being miserable while traveling.

Norma
Great resolve. Keep pushing.

This morning I walked in the mall at 7:45AM bc I had an American Sewing Guild meeting at 11:00AM. Great meeting and wonderful creative friends. We do learn so much from each other. I just don't want to miss my morning walks. I have 11,000 steps so far, and can sew now.

Goooood morning, where's the sun? Oh, still sleeping I guess.

ALICE, we just cannot keep you down! My walking trips were coming fast and furious, and I know how eating out kills any weight loss plans, no matter how far or high I walked! A good part of the problem is salt, then top it off with drinks and dessert and it's downhill from there. However, that said, life's getting shorter, some things just need to be done! I am home for a while, obviously too long, as I am eyeing up that upper stairway and hallway for painting.

Memo to self...paint while Jean's quilting. emoticon

Speaking of walking, I'm off shortly to meet up with my Daddy Long Legs walking partner. He's kind enough to slow up a bit, haha, or wait for me when I get too far behind. We might get a second 10 k in - since we are out anyway. If so, that means lunch and DRATS, sodium and calories.

The sodium talk is for Vickie, as she mentioned she is needing to cut back. It's not easy at all that salt is everywhere! We took a class with a dietitian when Terry was first diagnosed, and the FIRST warning to us was frozen, uncooked chicken breasts. We have a company in Canada called M&M's, all processed foods for fast dinners and entertaining. But she warned us, their plain chicken breasts are soaked in brine then flash frozen. So right there, you start out thinking you are doing it right with a plain chicken breast and you have lost the game.

Leaves are beginning to turn here, we get a lot of golds/ yellows, nothing like my home town Eastern Townships in Quebec, but still pretty.

Grab a friend, go for a walk, life will pass you by if you just sit there! emoticon

Good morning peeps, thought I would have a break from cleaning, I am trying to get everything ready for my friend coming tonight and get my stuff packed for Sunday.
I put on 5 pounds on Holiday but have taken off 3 emoticon so in my mind that gives me 3 to play with..look out Sangria here I come.
Its all inclusive and I find I stuff my face more, usually a BIG lunch that I am not used to, well its back on the wagon when I return and back to walking.
Its been 6 weeks since my MRI scan and although the results are on the computer at the Doctors and the Hospital no one is giving them to me. The Doc says the Consultant must tell me and I have left 3 requests with the Hospital, I know it cant be anything serious or they would have told me before now...BUT dont stop me wanting to know the outcome.
Thats my rant done, on with the housework.

HAVE A LOVELY DAY ALL YOU CYBER FRIENDS OUT THERE emoticon .

Hi all, I have some leftovers from the apple picking trip. I keep finding mosquitoe bites that are swelling up all over me. I have one on my right jaw that I keep scratching accidentally so it is getting huge. I can ignore the rest of them but that one bothers me terribly. I have found that sanitizer helps take the itch out.

Today I went to my group meeting then we walked along the river. I put in 3.4 miles which is a mile better than I have been getting in. I had to skip my woman's meeting tonight because the woman who picks me up has problems. Her mother lives with them but her has become quite ill. Karen doesn't feel like she can leave her mother alone. I hope she can figure out a solution.

This evening I have been watching the Roosevelt biography on PBS. It was written and produced by Ken Burns and covers Teddy, Franklin, and Eleanor. Very interesting.

I am heading to bed now. Goodnight.

Funny lady! Wouldn't we all get haircuts if it meant losing pounds.

I got my hair cut last week, too Didn't help one iota. emoticon

Walk, walk, walk. That'll do it. You're creeping close to me - - - about ready to zip past. I didn't get back to the mall to walk again after dinner. You can do this!
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I spent the evening with my quilting friends in Tomball. Such a great time. We've all made the turkey table runner now. Mine is finished and on the table, but theirs are pieced and ready for quilting.

Hi Vicki, glad you found us so quickly!

AMMAMMA, thanks for your attention to my Activity Tracker. When I look at it, it says "0". Not sure what is up with that.

I got my friends to the airport on time, was back in bed at 5am, and picked up 4 more hours. I most often wake up middle of the night and I was thinking maybe I should take up a new career and be an airport shuttle driver, since I am awake anyway!

Another gorgeous day, walking is the name of the game. Actually, no, it's beating Jean's minutes that drives me, emoticon

Hello and good afternoon from wet and sunny India....

Well I know haven't posted here in some time as nothing much happening, DH and I are quietly chugging along trying to behave like good children, doing our PT and our walks and our bodies are responding positively....Praise the Lord. Today is my weekly traction day, so tend to spend the better part of the day in bed as my calves hurt after the traction. My walking on the traction days is bed to bathroom, and it is an effort.... The sore muscles take about 4 to 6 hours to ease out and only then am I able to walk comfortably. Earlier this week I couldn't do much because of my essential tremors acting up....oh me and my JOA stories....

Jean and Sherry love reading your feed and seeing all the activity you 2 girls are unto.... you'll are an inspiration.

Alice wow from one holiday to another....lucky girl.

Donna hope you are doing well good to see you post....

How is our Donna 1 any news from her?

Gayle glad you had great company and enjoying your self.

Lola good to hear from you too....

Barb1 and Roger hope both of you are doing well....

Well today is my Grand Daughter Edna's 32nd Wedding Anniversary. She and her DH Lawrence dropped by in the morning to seek our blessings..and I thought it must be there 27th or 28th, and then Edna reminded me that it was 32, her son Jerry my oldes Great-grand Child is 31....how time flies...I can't imagine my little brat has been married 32 years.

Have a great Wednesday and the fantastic rest of the week....

Hugs, Prayers & Blessings

Good evening, I am home. Somehow this is Tuesday, and I forgot I had an evening walk, so put off the intended afternoon walk till Thursday, and got my steps just over 20,000 with a 11.2 km walk tonight.
I have offered to drive my friends to the airport, leaving here at 3:30am, so I am heading to bed now to catch some sleep.
Hang in there Norma, we are all having the same issues, just great we have the support of each other.
Nice to meet you, Ima. emoticon

Hi all, My DD and her family came Sunday afternoon to take us apple picking. We went way across the state to Hobart Indiana. It was about an hour and a half trip. The weather was beautiful and there were a lot of people there. There were a lot of tourist trap stuff but for a dollar you get taken into the grove and you can pick as many apples as you can carry. Leon didn't want to try so I had to convince him that he would only carry some but he got into the swing of things. When we got separated from my DD family it didn't matter because we had fun. Then of course you have to pay by the pound for the apples. We then went into the kiddie play area and I will post some pictures later. But by the time we ate dinner and drove home it was nearly midnight.

Monday we were pretty tired and the weather was pretty dreary. So we didn't do much of anything. I did have my new Bible study beginning in the afternoon. But that is all I had the energy for. Today we went to the library and stopped by the grocery store on the way home. I read all the posts since my last post. So now I am ready for bed. Goodnight

T hought I would get a hi in before I start my day. emoticon emoticon Just came back from the pool so that part of the day is over. Now time for my shower and exciting things like make my bed. emoticon

I have to admit that ironing is not my forte. When my husband was alive, he did it, and when he got sick there was no time to iron. I seemed to survived going through life crushed and wrinkled (clothes not body emoticon ) Certainly not any pillow cases get ironed either.

Have a great day and happy walking, shopping reading etc. What ever you day is filled with, make it a good one.

Good to know I have positive influence on your activity level. You spur me on also.

This was a good day, but not from great walking. Just lots of good stuff. I did walk 7.48 miles, but I accomplished stuff in other areas as well.

I went through my yarn stash, and figured out I have all I need for a silver/grey shawl. Cool. That can be my big knitting project for October. Then I found over a dozen skeins of yarn for those chemo caps I used to make. So I'm thinking I might start knitting those up in between big projects.

DIL called tonight bc she was ready to start her paper piecing quilt blocks. We took the cactus flower quilt class together last month. I couldn't help her over the phone so Joe and I drove over there. It took a few minutes puzzling it out before it all came back to her. That was great. Then we looked at her turkey table runner pieces, and figured that one out, too. Hers will be pretty also. It's great for me to share our love of fabric, patterns, classes, and projects.

Just a good day all around.

Wishing all of you happiness in your lives. emoticon

Hi all. I am still at my daughters, will head home tomorrow.

I saw the topic of ironing, and have to admit I finally gave it up about a year ago. I still iron things I want ironed, like my pillow cases and table cloths, Donna, lol, and I have a t shirt or two that just looks slept in unless I iron it, but on the whole, I quit ironing. Heck, I don't have time, I am walking all the time. emoticon

Awesome walk up Sulfur Mountain, the Fitbit counted 254 flights of stairs, I will tell you I slept well last night! Sulfur Mountain has a tram at the top, so basically the trail goes from the bottom of the tram where you get on, to the top of the tram where you get off. It took me twice the time the same distance would normally take. I was the slowest of the group. Never mind, I was also the oldest!

I saw much tree damage here in Calgary from that freak summer snow storm. Most damage was in older areas with older trees. Next big wind storm will likely take down those branches weakened by the heavy snow. Today is back to summer with tank tops and flip flops! (well, not me, remember, I am the oldest, tee hee)

Jean, I walked twice to a small shopping centre today, just to get to my 10,000 steps. Great motivation. Also, Megan needs time to heal, it will come. To an outsider, the decision seems right. Life is tough enough without adding more stress that cannot be controlled.

I cooked the ham and cheese buns for the kids, and the two dogs are attentively awaiting me to turn my back so they can eat them...not gonna happen puppies! I am on to ya!

Should still get my steps in tomorrow Jean, even though I am driving home. I plan to stop and do a Volkssport walk on the way. If I tell you, that will motivate me to do it!!!!

Megan is coping, but not healed. She is grieving, but doesn't acknowledge that's going on. She is terribly angry sometimes, and then unaccountably sad at others. She knows she did the right thing. Elliott called her and let her know he is being deployed in October instead of next year. Very sad for him to miss his birthday Dec 24th, and Christmas with his family. He tells her he misses her, and hopes "she finds what she's looking for." She needs a reprieve from relationships, and just to get through this. College classes start in January, so she'll be looking at schedules and classes in December to get situated again. Her employer, "Bed Bath and Beyond" has offered her full time. She's not sure she can handle that and college.

We do love her and do what we can to assure her of better tomorrows.

We're back in the 90s again. Sticky, hot and sweaty.

Sending hugs

Norma you are such an inspiration to us all. I sure this week will be better.

So nice to see the beautiful shawl Jean. When I saw the shawl, it made me wonder how your granddaughter is doing?

The weather has cooled down here, but lovely sunshine. Nice to not have the humidity. That certainly knocks me off my feet. It is also wonderful to sleep with the windows open.

Gayle sounds like you had a wonderful time with your friend. Three years is a long time but was well worth the wait. Maybe next time it will not be so long. Would love to hear your group play. Are you thinking of a CD?

Hi to all and have a nice evening/morning. My salmon is waiting to be put in the oven. emoticon

ALICE, thanks for commenting on that picture on fb. The man on the right in the picture is the dear friend who died a couple of weeks ago. the other is my friend Howie. He's the one from California.

NORMA, you're doing great! I wonder if I'll ever be able to say that my goal is in sight?

JEAN, your shawl is gorgeous.

SHERRY, walk walk walk!

I had a fabulous day yesterday. Kevin was in town and jammed with my friends. He's such a talented musician and I've been wanting to hear the band with him on bass for 3 years. I wasn't disappointed.

I have been keeping up on my reading here, so I know what's going on, but haven't felt much like posting. Take care everyone.

It's lovely outdoors right now but will be hot again this afternoon. This summer we've broken a record for the most days over 90 ... so much for our moderate climate. It will be 90 again before it starts to cool down. The humidity is so low that it is a worry. The skies have that brown look from smoke from the forest fires.

Eldon had a good checkup -- his annual exams show he's running pretty steadily in the same path. His cardiologist pronounced him "amazing" because he keeps bouncing back from issues that would have taken down most people. He's doing well if he doesn't fall down or get sick (as we all are at this point in our lives).

Alice - re ironing - it's that old saying, "If you don't mind it doesn't matter" -- and I guess I've gotten to the point I don't mind. I have a spray bottle on the counter that I spray the worst wrinkles and they mostly fall right out as I'm wearing the shirts. I guess that goes with letting my hair go grey and ignoring the wrinkles.

The outdoors are calling ....... time to think of cleaning up the tomato patch and do some cleanup of things around the yard.

Lola - in Oregon

Today is a good day to have a good day.

I bought ice cream on sale. A stupid move on my part. I finally resolved to let it sit in the freezer bc not losing was annoying me. That certainly helped. Down one pound feels yummy! Better than the ice cream, really.

Since I am walking so much I know the weight should melt off, but fortifying myself with ice cream undid all my hard work. Using my head now. About time.

Glad your Phil can come over and visit. A very special time for all of you.

Alice
Happy Sunday to you, too.

Delores
Have a great weekend.

All is well here. The temperature actually dropped into the low 70's. So delicious. Of course it won't last, but it feels wonderful. We wore jackets to church, and long sleeves. Yummy!!

Shorter walk today. Was walking solo and got bored easily. I'll try some more later. Didn't get my 10,000 steps yet. Ar-r-r--g-g-g-h-h-h-h

Hi all, We went shopping this morning to the grocery store and got nearly everything on the list but I found I had forgotten to write some things we were short on on the list. I now have another list started.

This afternoon I watched some of the stuff I had taped to clear up some space on my recorder. This evening my friend Christine came over to watch the ND vs Purdue football game. I heated a pizza and we enjoyed the game. ND won 30 to 14. I wish I could have watched the Cubs game too. They won 6 to 3.

Well I'm heading to bed now. Goodnight.

Not sewing, still knitting on the white shawl for the Stashbuster Challenge. Seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

Our son Jeff in Michigan found a darling little abandoned kitten on the Madonna University parking lot where he is the tech guy. He took her to his son's apartment so their new mother dog (of seven puppies) could adopt her. "Cocoa," the dog Mom, cleans and feeds the cute little kitten. Jeff is taking home one of the seven puppies, "Milk Chocolate (MC for short") and his new little kitten, "Smoke," when they are weaned. Jeff had a hard time giving up "Cocoa" when his son moved out, so is delighted to be getting a new puppy back. Nice happy ending.

Walked in the mall this morning for over 10,000 steps.

I called ATT and cancelled our UVerse TV account. Then returned our UVerse TV box, remote, and electric cable to UPS so they can ship them to ATT. We had UVerse internet and TV, but switched to an antennae and Apple TV. We kept UVerse internet, but were able to cut our $99/mo bill to $43/mo by dropping the TV. ATT has a promotion that really cut our monthly bill. Very good. Every bit helps in our retirement.

Loved the cooler doggie walk this morning - - - 68 degrees. Won't stay long, but feels great for now. High today is 80. Yes, we got a small amount of rain here. Houston had flash flooding, but we just got sprinkles.

Hi all, I had a hard night sleeping Wednesday night so I felt awful all day yesterday. I was very disappointed about the weather Wednesday. We had weather warnings out and supposed to have terrible winds and rains. the front split and went north and south of us. Here I canceled all my plans and no rain and about an hour of high winds. Blah.

Today we had a productive shopping list. We went to Walmart and bought some of my shopping list. I figured not to overload us for the trip home on the bus. I had a lot of medicines and vitamins to buy so my bill still hit nearly $100. We plan to go to the grocery near here for some of the things I skipped and forgot. The list looks nearly as long as the first list. This should be fun.

My DD just called and invited me to go with her apple picking sometime this weekend. We shall see if she can get it organized. I will try to get to bed now. Goodnight all.

So glad your holiday was so enjoyable. That's marvelous.
You're taking off again? This time to Barcelona, Spain. Wow!! Amazing. Enjoy every moment. You're worth it!!

A slight slip up doesn't hurt. That's what it takes to get the body ready to drop again sometimes - - - at least it seems to work that way for me.

Absolutely grand to have a therapist come to you. Such luxury. Enjoy your pampering. After all these years of serving others, you have earned the opportunity to be at ease in your reclining years.

After my mall walk, I threw my walking shoes in the wash machine, and added a few cloth purses to the load. The purses are in the dryer now. Everything came out just lovely. The shoes are outside, but under the overhang. No sun right now, so maybe, just maybe we'll get a drop of moisture here. Cooling air mass is supposed to be heading our way. Can't wait.

Because my Kiwi just vacuums his food, I decided to try a treat ball for him. It's a sturdy plastic ball about he size of a tennis ball with a crisscross hole in one end. I put a treat in the opening to get him accustomed to the idea. He caught on right away. This morning I put just some of his breakfast in there. He batted that ball around to make the food come out and gobbled it up as soon as it hit the floor. Very funny to watch. Especially since we never got him to play with doggie toys. When I fixed my lunch, I broke up a couple of crackers into his ball. He was on them in a flash knocking that thing around.

I plan to spend some time today replacing a jump ring on my watch's safety chain. One end of the chain just dangles, so I'm not wearing it until I fix it. Maybe I'll make some earrings with the crystals I bought on vacation. Not sure about that.

I'm still knitting on my white shawl. Actually I'm running out of white yarn, so it's getting close to completion. Maybe ready for a photo next week. I like the look of it and am sure I'll add it to outfits if the weather ever cools down again.

Hi Alice, welcome back to UK for a short while then off to sunny Barcelona. Wonderful!

I had a physio massage on Wednesday and apparently my exercises and walking have really helped already. Less than two months and I'm building up all the muscles in my thighs and especially my quads which are the ones I'm targeting to protect my knees. Cheeky guy said he can't get down to my thigh bones anymore! LOL

Walked to the hairdressers this morning 2 1/2 miles each way with the added bonus that I got to watch two swans with fluffy grey cygnets swimming in the river just by the bridge. Ahh!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Good morning peeps I AM BACK emoticon We had the most relaxing holiday EVER there wasnt much to do there, so after breakfast we just chilled out round the pool sipping Sangrias, then toddled off for a pub lunch, at 6pm we went and got ready and went to our favourite restaurant for dinner, topping it all off with a night cap on the balcony overlooking the sea.
We did go to the harbour oh boy! the boats were worth millions and some bigger than a house
you could see the people walking about were worth a few bob by the designer and high class outfits, the restaurants were over double we had been paying we tried it one night and found it wasnt as good as our usual one.

Anyway here I am feeling very mellow and looking forward to my next holiday in 10 days
My friend is arriving next Thursday and we fly on the Sunday to Barcelona Spain.

AMMAMMA Good to see you keeping up with your exercising you put me to shame my friend.

HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY

Good Afternoon,

Have been having a good week in terms of exercise....have been consistent with my PT & Yoga and also getting an an hour of strolling in the park....well it is walking for me, strolling for my caregivers who escort me....

We have a new PT, she is a pretty young girl of 21, but excellent at her job. for a change DH too has been complying with her and hasn't fallen asleep during PT on all 3 days....well men will be men right....age really doesn't matter.... LOL

Jean, you are an inspiration with all the walking and the quilting oh my God....God Bless I really admire you.

Norma you seem to be getting all the Spark awards & trophies....good going.

Sherry well you are the walking queen.....

Ralph, Angela, Alice, Donna, Sue....wish you all a great weekend.

Oh, dear. We saw snow on TV last night. I think it was in Calgary. Did you get snow already? Just blow that arctic weather down to us. Hopefully we'll get some respite this weekend.

Delores
Sorry about your drenching rain. Wish it was us instead of you. We need it.

Woke up early today. Not ambitious, just early. Grins! I did sleep better last night. That's good.

Still working on the white shawl, but hope to get time to play with the Halloween table runner too sometime today.

Smiles are contagious. Share yours today. emoticon

Hi all, I am feeling better but still not up to par. Today we had storms that are not good for walking in. The rain came down in torrents and the wind was blowing strongly. We just sat around watching the TV and I played a little on the computer. We walked some in the hallway because it looked so dreadful outside.

Jean, I hope your heat wave breaks soon you all have been baking too much lately.

Sherry, I hope your cold front doesn't come down here and attack us. We have barely seen summer weather this year. I also hope that your early cold doesn't mean an extra cold winter coming next.

Well all I am heading to bed soon so goodnight.

I have never taunted anyone. That is so mean. Tee hee hee

OK If you way someone to spur you on, I guess I can help with a Fitbit push. Keep smiling. The walking can become habit if the weather permits, so do your best. Your health awaits.

Enjoy Florida. Have a bunch of fun Stateside. Get some sun, and relax.

Good morning everyone! Its a cold but sunny day here in Dorset.

I have been reading all the posts but not posting as we are really busy right now getting everything in order before we go back to Florida for 12 weeks. We'll be in the air next Tuesday so besides getting on top of all the accounts I've been running down the freezer and larder stocks and cancelled veggie box. Cooking is improvising on what we still have to eat before we leave.

It will be lovely to get out to the warmth again and do some sailing and canoeing. I have to keep up with the daily walking though as I'm working on strengthening my thigh muscles. Doctor thinks my sitting on my butt all day has weakened them to the point where that's what is causing all the knee pain. Remedy is diet, walking and specific quad exercises.

Really have started to enjoy getting up early every morning and walking for 45 minutes while listening to some of my favourite music. Not sure how I'll rearrange things in Florida as we like to canoe early in the morning before it gets too hot, then of course it will be too hot and sunny for walking. I'll sort something out :o)

Well best I get back to work or I'll get fired - not likely as I keep saying I will stop work any time DH likes!!

Sherry and Jean - please taunt me if you see my steps dropping over the next few days. I really have to keep walking.

Have a nice day ladies and Ralph.

We're still in the 90'sF and roasting. But, your cool weather is supposed to drop all the way down to us this weekend. Glorious. Sure hope we get some of it. Not the snow, of course, but get us below 90.

Night temperatures drop a little, but not a lot yet. Autumn is coming.

So you didn't get in your 10K. Guess that's why I am still ahead of you.
