What everyone else has said, and then some!
Find something you enjoy... even if you do find (like me) resorting to the only way you 'really' burn much is heading to the gym... whatever machine... I find that I could easily hop off after the 10 or 15 minute mark we often say "just do that much, and once you're doing it you'll stay on longer". When I really don't feel well, I will stop... and maybe try to find something else.
Lately, I've found I need complete distraction from what I'm doing... I use bluetooth headphones and listen to my SiriusXM radio subscription while reading on my tablet. I know I often hear that 'distracted' you usually end up working at a lesser rate, but I find that I keep catching myself getting my heart rate up too high, instead of the reverse. That automagic following of the beat can really help ;)
Just do your best, and know YOU CAN do it... you obviously WANT to do it. Again, I know how often my mind just flails as well, and says... 'just this one treat'... but then I have to re-think... does it really stop at one... one day... one week... daily... We just have to change our mindsets!
My FitBit tells me I got less than 4 hours of sleep last night... no stretch longer than an hour without interruption. I'm VERY TIRED... and do NOT want to hit the Y after work. I wore my "Y" shoes to work today, and grabbed a T-Shirt. I'll be going, and doing at LEAST the 30 mins of some cardio... I really don't want to... but I also don't want to get on the scale tomorrow at the Dr's office and have it be its usual unflatttering self, and then doubt my decision to NOT go. So, I'm going.
Just look for some little reason to help talk yourself into WANTING to do it. I think it's when we sometimes thing too broadly in goals, we let more slide than we would if we looked at each workout on its own. Altho', going too much the other way is dangerous too.
I shall end this rant now (remember, I said I'm tired? could be why LOL)... and just remember again... " all things in MODERATION "
(I'll try to remember THAT next post hehehe)
