One of my 'goals' that goes way back - to the first SparkLife ... never go 2 days in a row as 'rest' days (unless illness/injury prevents it)...

So far, so good... let's keep up our enthusiasm!

Just call me Prin (easier on your fingers!) (unless you were counting that as exercise!!!)

KJ from my experience you just have to make yourself workout cuz if you are like me, one day will turn into two and so on... I too have problems with it, when i do not feel like working out i remember how good I felt afterwards!!

I know where you are coming from I've been in the same boat. I lost 70 pounds and have gained back 30 of it and got back into the 200s like I told myself I never would do again. I have decided that I am going to not make it so easy to be unhealthy. Number 1 is keep healthy snacks and water at my desk so instead of going to the vending machine I have them close, 2nd no bad snacks or candy staying at my house. If I want to just grab something easy to munch on it's going to be veggies or fruit. 3rd I have been making myself make time for other stuff I think is important and if I can make time for that I can make at least ten minutes a day for exercise of some kind. I've also spent the last 2 days pouring over Sparkpeople Recipes finding ones that sound so delicious I can't wait to try and have made my own menu for a month. I have calories totaled up so I know how much and of what I can eat. I am going grocery shopping tomorrow and start cooking on Friday (still eating healthier just not cooking the new recipes). I hope you find a way that works for you and if you need someone to talk to to try to motivate each other a little better send me a message!!

Great words all around... we can and will succeed!

Chargin' up the ol' fitbit right now (what better thing to do when sitting and Sparking?)

Then, to charge myself up (eat 'brunch') to fuel up and go burn it off at the last day the Y is open at the old facility. This Friday, we get the 'sneak peak' at the new facility... all new equipment awaits!!! Excitement abound! (just what I need, new enthusiasm! & the new one is 'on my way home' from work too - no more going out of the way!)

Just call me Prin (easier on your fingers!) (unless you were counting that as exercise!!!)

I SO get it... Two years ago I lost 40lbs and was well on my way to my goal of losing 70lbs and then some medical issues hit me and I could barely get through a walk around the block without practically crawling home in pain if not camping out on some strangers lawn until I could get up again. Without delving into the gory details I stopped walking, stopped working out.. I gave up. I started eating WHATEVER I wanted. I mean, if there is too much pain to work out and I can't afford the medical bills to fix it then why even try?

Well, that was a major.. and I do mean *major* flaw in my thinking and attitude. Not only have I gained those 40lbs back, but add 20 more. I am disgusted with myself and have no one to blame but that woman staring back at me in the mirror.

Life is full of things we don't like doing, but often we have to do them anyway. It's absolutely amazing how we adjust though. "Fake it 'til you make it" a cliche that is actually very useful.

Stay positive. Remind yourself of the great things you've already accomplished and tell that face looking back in your mirror how it's going to be. I wish that I could go back and readjust my attitude. Keep up the efforts knowing the results were going to be slim to none. But, you know what they say.. "if wishes were horses, we'd all ride."

You don't have to go back and wish. NOW is your moment to make that choice. Make the one that you won't regret in another year, two years, three years....

You can do it.

I feel with you since I am feeling a little the same. It's easy for me to want to hate myself for letting this happen again. But then I think, NO, I can't sink back into that. I have to keep fighting and keep trying. Right now, not so many results. But I'm not whipped yet.
You aren't either!

What everyone else has said, and then some!

Find something you enjoy... even if you do find (like me) resorting to the only way you 'really' burn much is heading to the gym... whatever machine... I find that I could easily hop off after the 10 or 15 minute mark we often say "just do that much, and once you're doing it you'll stay on longer". When I really don't feel well, I will stop... and maybe try to find something else.

Lately, I've found I need complete distraction from what I'm doing... I use bluetooth headphones and listen to my SiriusXM radio subscription while reading on my tablet. I know I often hear that 'distracted' you usually end up working at a lesser rate, but I find that I keep catching myself getting my heart rate up too high, instead of the reverse. That automagic following of the beat can really help ;)

Just do your best, and know YOU CAN do it... you obviously WANT to do it. Again, I know how often my mind just flails as well, and says... 'just this one treat'... but then I have to re-think... does it really stop at one... one day... one week... daily... We just have to change our mindsets!

My FitBit tells me I got less than 4 hours of sleep last night... no stretch longer than an hour without interruption. I'm VERY TIRED... and do NOT want to hit the Y after work. I wore my "Y" shoes to work today, and grabbed a T-Shirt. I'll be going, and doing at LEAST the 30 mins of some cardio... I really don't want to... but I also don't want to get on the scale tomorrow at the Dr's office and have it be its usual unflatttering self, and then doubt my decision to NOT go. So, I'm going.

Just look for some little reason to help talk yourself into WANTING to do it. I think it's when we sometimes thing too broadly in goals, we let more slide than we would if we looked at each workout on its own. Altho', going too much the other way is dangerous too.

I shall end this rant now (remember, I said I'm tired? could be why LOL)... and just remember again... " all things in MODERATION "

(I'll try to remember THAT next post hehehe)

Just call me Prin (easier on your fingers!) (unless you were counting that as exercise!!!)

There are days that I find eating right and exercising difficult at well. I have also learned that if I can focus doing something (walking, yoga, movement) for the next fifteen minutes then I can motivate myself much better. It also gives me a boost because I stayed on target without feeling overwhelmed. After all, I can manage for 15 minutes. You can too.

People often say that motivation doesn't last well, neither does bathing- thats why we recommend it daily.

I understand the not wanting to work out. The key is to find something that you enjoy doing. Forget the treadmill, get outside and find an activity that is fun. Something that is enjoyable to do that will make it not feel like exercise.

Food is a tough one. I myself struggle with the food thing. Check out some of the recipes on spark or let them design a meal plan for you.

Just don't give up. You can do this. Good luck and welcome to the team.
