This time I am going to do a few things differently. I am going to pray a lot more!!! I am going to take advantage of the support that SparkPeople has to offer. I am going to try out some of the challenges on here. I am also going to make a plan for my meals so I am not scrambling at the last minute trying to find something to eat. I am going to get a few of my best friends involved so we can help each other.

God gave me this body and it is time for me to take care of it.

My plan is to keep things within my priorities keep God first, and family etc.Most importantly do not make this a obsession just like food was
I lost 105 pounds before! I gained all but 28 back. I am glad I did. I know gasp! I have learned so much to help me for the long haul now. Like having the mindset that there is no end point. Whatever I do I have to be willing to do for a life time. So that makes me make more realistic healthy goals. I also realized the whys of my eating in the firsts place. I am learning how to have healthy boundaries with food and respect my self enough to keep them. When I fail big whoop I dust off that and the rest off my day can rock with healthy choices and exercise. I am realizing to enjoy the whole journey. I no longer beat myself up. I am learning to think about what I am thinking about and reject any lies or negative self talk. . I am a lot more than a body it is truly just a part of my life. This is doable! Look forward to meeting you all!

I think I'm going to try to cut out chocolate completely... I can't seem to control myself with only a small amount of chocolate a day, I end up devouring the whole thing. ^_^ I've actually gained a pound or two over the holidays, since we received so many chocolates. So now, I'm going to try to jump back on track. emoticon

I am having trouble with "What others think of me is none of my business"; Try as I might I noticed that I am doing what people think I should be doing and not what makes me happy with myself.

What will I do differently? Fight my demons...head on, everyday. I will seek support from my God, my family, and my fellow Sparkers. I cannot do it alone. I think I know how to fight them. Form good habits, track food, track goals, track activity, educate myself, and reach out to others. Consistency is the key. Every post I read reiterates the same battle cry! I am honored to be among such warriors.

I am a bit out of sorts today after last nights trip to the store... after dreaming that these magazines were chasing me , I find myself having these urges to tear and rip up any magazines totting about all the magical weight loss plans and miracle pills. I feel childish but dang it I just know it would feel good to be able to walk back into that store with scissors. emoticon

Managed to exercise every day over the long weekend, but had too many treats and too much sodium. I'm sure some of the water retention will resolve itself quickly. Need to get back to healthy eating.

I'm a SP Weight Loss Pro -- this is my third trip down the scale here. I get really close to goal, look and feel great, and, then somehow, go completely off the rails. Things I can do differently this time:

1. See it through to the end -- maintain motivation.
2. Get more/better sleep.
3. Study the lifestyles of people who are thin -- what and how they eat, their activity levels, etc.
4. Learn more about nutrition and meal planning. This is a big one for me because I don't really cook. It's not that I can't or that I even dislike cooking. It's just that there are many other things I'd rather be doing.

I'd really appreciate it if any of my SparkPals who see me going off track would give me a good shake and remind me of my first two times doing this and that I REALLY don't want to be doing it again.

log food - de-stress-get more sleep- I have never logged my food consistently and everything I read, this is one of the keys for success. I know I am an emotional eater, doing things like yoga and dealing with my issues instead of pushing them down with food. During the week I do not get enough sleep-these problems plus my age, are keeping me where I am.

I'm going to join a martial arts class, to go alongside my at-home cardio. I've grown tired of the gym scene and I want a goal that is different than what I've tried previously (weight loss number only). I'm hoping if I focus on how much I enjoy the class and community that I won't notice the beginner woes as much. :)

I am going to try and go out of my way to exercise, to push myself to do something every day. I need a clear goal in my mind though, since a Halloween 5k is probably impractical.

P.S. I could try for a decent time, rather than jogging the entirety of it.

I'm trying to be patient and keep on track through an injury. I was working hard and had gotten within 5 lbs. of a big milestone goal, so it is very discouraging to not be able to get my usual exercise. I will not make the goal I'd set for the end of this month, so I need to "re-set" my hopes and expectations. I WILL get there next month! emoticon

The difference for me this is that I am accepting that I have no choice but to lose the weight/fat if I want to live not merely exist. This is a "first" for me. I believe it will make the difference between success and failure. I guess you could say, it is my "wake-up call." emoticon

I plan on getting out walking once again since my OA knee has a Cortisone shot in it now and what a difference that has made with walking!! Also, I'm feeling so much more upbeat overall with having that knee pain controlled. I'll get back on my recumbent bike too. I know that with hitting the exercise again and watching my nutritional ranges more faithfully, the weight will fall off, like it did in the beginning! Change is an awesome thing! We can do it!! emoticon

I'm making small changes and goals this time. I have stopped drinking sodas and already have seen some results. Now I have started running a few mornings a week to jump start my metabolism. I have also started listening to podcasts about weight loss. I have learned that I was taking my weight loss all wrong and have to re-evaluate things such as my caloric intake. I was eating way less calories than I should making my body retain fat. Now with eating powerful foods and exercising, I know that my weight-loss will happen and stick.

I'm not sure. I think what I should focus on is consistency. I do fine for a while, then life throws a curve ball and I crumble.

At the moment, exercise is hard for me, yet I plan to find a way to power through. In fact, today, I plan to switch it up a bit and try to split it into several pieces so I get it all in.

I am on the Super Charged Hormone Diet by Dr. N Turner... if followed faithfully I lose... have lost 6lbs this last week, not normal, usually 1 - 2 lbs a week, but have actually felt good, managing the back and leg pain well, and am able to really exercise, do yoga, tai chi, and water aerobics

I'm going to do my best to make it fun this time around!! I have learned that if I don't have fun doing something I won't stick with it. I'm going to do activities that I find fun instead of just "exercise." I'm going to find recipes I enjoy making and eating instead of being a militant about what I eat. And I'm going to enjoy the process instead of being impatient about how slowly things are happening!! :)

I am journaling everything I eat and exercise I do each day. Trying to use the food tracker and count all my calories is frustrating for me. However, I have learned enough about proportions and healthy eating that writing down in a journal what and when I eat keeps me on track. I have also been making monthly calendars to track daily servings of veggies, fruit, and water, along with exercise for the day. I set targets for each month and summarizes my successes at the end of the month.

I'm going to pause before eating to evaluate whether or not I'm truly hungry.

Also, no PB. It's a binge trigger for me, and I'm much better off without it. Today's the first day PB free.

Just take five minutes to regroup, and don't ever forget to make time for what makes you happy.

I'm holding my self accountable. I write in my food journal daily. I log onto spark people every day and Im actually using the community boards. It's so nice to have the support of other Sparkpeople. I'm trying to be consistent with my exercise and getting the support of my family as helped so much. One step, one day at time. I'm doing a lifestyle change, not a diet.

I'm stepping off the scale for awhile. I joined Sparkpeople a couple of years ago and lost almost 40 pounds, but now most of it is back. Unlike my previous experiences when weight loss failed, this time I kept weighing in every week and watched the pounds come back on and the number on the scale increase, decrease a bit, and then increase. I think I'm a bit numb to it; I'm not beating myself up over it, but setting a goal by the numbers on the scale doesn't mean much to me.

I miss that feeling of having my clothes feel loose on my body; I hate that some clothing items that used to feel loose and ready for donation are now tight again. So I'm stepping off the scale and making certain to include weight training and pilates with cardio and tracking my food. When I've lost 2 inches off my current waist measurement, I'll step back on the scale and see where I'm at, but I'm really going for how my body feels. Maybe I'll get my motivation back.

Today I have picked myself up, dusted off and am starting over again. Realized that I am not eating Freggies(fruit/veg) that I am buying and have in the fridge! I guess that I began expecting someone else to steer my course, not gonna happen! So this time, I begin with fruit at any snacks and with breakfast and salad at lunch and dinner, no matter what I'm eating for my meals!

Focus on nutrition and calorie counting, not just calories in/out
Not try to do too much to soon with exercise and get stressed/overwhelmed
Less emphasis on the scale and more on healthy habits
Surround myself with positive reinforcement, especially when I feel like overeating

I'm trying to be patient and actually complete a goal all the way, instead of adding the remainder of weight to be lost to my next goal (and rarely getting there).

I'm about 1 lb. from where I'd hoped to be at the end of February, but it seems important to just wait until I get there, even if it takes a few more days before I get started with March goal--which I have purposely not specified yet.

What am I doing differently? As of this morning, lots! A road trip this morning will be started by packing water for the ride and fruit for a snack. A great breakfast will actually begin my day and I will chose wisely my lunch and dinner. I pan on a loss come Tuesday and at Wed. usual weigh-in, so I am taking care of my body this time! That is what I am going to do differently! I will take care of my body...

I am going to really measure out my food this time and keep better track of my calories. I am also seriously considering the Spark Activity tracker to give me more motivation:)

VON_1962 Great! That book sound like it be good. No, I find myself on SP a whole lot more than FB. I make myself have breakfast at 6am I do my work around the house, at 9:30 break for a snack then work until noon, break 3pm for snack then start on supper. I do this like I would if I was working outside the home. My husband says, I'm the CEO of Tobin's Estates. emoticon

well, Dec 14th has passed, I wanted to be at 200lbs. That didn't happen emoticon I got close. Now I'm going for 190 for March 14,2014 that will be 13lbs. I believe this is do able.
