I am getting ready to head out of town for a conference with my husband. I usually don't have much self-control at these things. Lot of good food and drinks. Hoping to do well.

Hello everyone!

So I posted last month that I wanted to go to hanging lake and get some pics...and I promised myself I'd do it before June was over. Well I did the hike on June 25th, up at 1am on the road by 2am and hit the trail at 450am. Totally worth it because by 7am the parking lot was full and the trail was packed with people who clearly don't understand proper trail etiquette emoticon

Anywho the hike was killer but I made it! And the views were worth it!! I am so glad I did the hike and I ran into another photographer on the trail (he knew that if he didn't hit the trail super early he wouldn't get clear shots without people walking in front of your camera). And as promised here is a picture of the lake emoticon

We don't have any special plans; weeding and cleaning. I've got a to-do list, as I ALWAYS do on a 3-day weekend.

I did nothing this evening, but I've spent an hour or more the last several evenings weeding the garden.

Weighing in on the motivation issue: I wish I had a good answer for you. The extreme fatigue makes it so hard to get up and do ANYTHING. I guess the best I can do is to suggest that you solve that issue first. You really can't do anything if you're too tired to do anything. I actually paid for a program called Slimitless run by a dr. named Rudy Muller. He suggested some supplements that are really expensive, but I think they're helping. He pretty much just confirmed what I suspected but it's nice to hear it from a 'professional'. Find a good doctor, get some supplements, and cut the crap from your diet.

We have a holiday weekend coming up. Does anyone have any plans?

A girlfriend from college is coming up to my house with her husband so we can do a river float. It's an annual tradition. I'm really looking forward to it.

I've been really pushing myself to do extra steps. I'll set little mini goals for myselk like I can't sit down and read until I get a thousand more steps in. It also helps that I'm on another Fitbit challenge with my sister and we really try to beat each other emoticon

I got out and played chase the little yellow ball (tennis) this morning before the rain moved in. It looks like the rest of the day will be spent walking indoors. I'd like to get between 15 and 20 thousand steps in before the day is done. I am already halfway there.

Problem is I've hit a plateau and fear the exercises I love doing aren't doing it for me anymore. I've got 17lbs to say goodbye to - having problems finding that sweet spot right exercises and healthy eating combo

Laura you have been doing great!

Sadie I just try telling myself just go for a short walk and that counts. Not everyday do I take it further but somedays it works. I keeps me from feeling guilty about not doing anything.

You may want to look into Iron as well.

I tried Zumba for the first time today...it was fun. I have to clean house and what not while my kiddos are outside and at work. We will be going to the movies tonight and I don't want to have a cluttered living room waiting afterwards.

I've also been tracking my food for a few days, it really is my only option. You know Sadie that has actually helped me too. Since I have been tracking I have been more motivated to get moving. Maybe that will help?

I could try some B vitamins. Thanks, Laura!

Thinking more mentally, I'm wondering how people here psych themselves up. Everyone gets tired or stressed or just wants to lounge around sometimes. How do you motivate yourself to move? I'm looking for some ideas to try out if anyone wants to share :)

I'm sorry that I have been a bit quiet. Life sort of got in the way. I'm dealing with some medical issues that have left me severely anemic, and I cannot seem to find the energy to even think about motivating myself on my health journey.

I would love some ideas on how to stay motivated when you just don't feel like you have the energy to get up off the couch. I know the SP 10 minute rule, but how do you get in your 10 minutes when you're exhausted?

After a couple months of craziness my schedule is starting to slow down. There are only a couple weeks of school left I have a few sub dates remaining and then hallelujah it is summer vacation!

It's been pretty quiet here on relighting hopefully we see some people coming back. I have posted the June challenge a couple weeks early. Hopefully people can plan and join us. If anyone would like to add anything to it just let me know.

I can't run never have been able too. I do enjoy walking. I love that spring is finally here and I can get outside.

I'm with you on the allergies. I use my allergy "blend " essential oil every day, along with eye drops , and pills. I try not to take the pills every day but sometimes it's hard to help.

I think it is wonderful you two are starting into running...no matter how slow you go you are still a runner.

I am actually not allowing myself to get back into running just yet. I am trying to learn to be patient and in June I plan to ease back into running.

I have been feeling pretty lowsy (as some of you may be able to tell who are in the fitbit challenges with me) lately. My allergies are wrecking havoc and it is super busy at work. I think I may be getting a bit better now...we shall see.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Sadiemae32- I restarted the c25k this month as well. I'm @ w2/d3 and I'm having a hard time getting my butt in gear and get the run done. For me, it's really a weird looking crawl and not a run but as long as I'm trying, anything counts....I guess emoticon

Working my way into running again, so I restarted the Couch to 5k with a friend. Today will only be the second run day, and I must admit I am dreading it! But I know we all have things we have to really push ourselves to do. I hope everyone pushes to reach one major goal today. We can do this!

Day 1 of testing done! This week won't be too bad. I don't have to read the test to this group. I don't know what is worse, sitting there why they take the test or reading the whole test to them. At least this day is done.

Laura that is great, I think it is wonderful you get a chance to take care of kiddos like that.

I have been busy busy with my new job, we were down two people last week. This week should be nicer. I still love this job though, regardless of how busy it is. I'm thinking I am going to possibly take a class to freshen up my skills though.

Yesterday was a volleyball game for my youngest then afterwards I went for a walk with a friend of mine. Did my grocery shopping and laundry which leaves me nothing for today....I am planning on a hike. I have a concert this Wednesday which will be fun.

I am still super busy and will be until school is out in June. I'm going to post the upcoming challenge but I think I am going to make it a two-month one as opposed to a monthly one.

I am really booked on my subbing schedule at the school. Instead of my usual Elementary I am testing Junior High and high school students. This is the only time that I do the older kids. These are special ed kids that just need a little extra help so I will be reading tests to them. It is extremely mind numbing but I have a ton of days coming up because of it. Not to mention these are some of the kids that I miss subbing for, it will be a good way to end the school year.

Laura I hear ya on the super busy schedule...as I am in the same boat.

My oldest is on Spring break so she is down in the Springs (hopefully) volunteering. She needs a certain amount of hours before she graduates next year. She was supposed to go on a trip to Europe but I totally spaced the deadline and now she will have to wait until next year.

Just a quick pop in, i gotta get ready for work.

Just a quick check in, I start my new job on Tuesday. It is a contract to hire position and I have come to accept that although it is not a traditional route of employment it is doable....because nobody is really guaranteed work after 90 days anyways really. I hope we both like each other and I get hired on permanently after my 90 day (if not sooner) time frame. I like to see it as try before you buy opportunity for both me and them emoticon

I will be back to doing the March challenge...as I fell off the wagon after the news of layoffs in my company at the beginning of the month.

I hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Thank you Lisa I never thought of that! I will definitely have to look into that tonight when I get home.

Laura thanks for posting the challenge, I kept thinking of it last night when I was at the store walking by all the Easter candy LOL.

I feel a little better today but not totally out of the woods. If I feel better later today I will go for a walk after work...maybe a run if I feel good enough. We have a meeting at work today so I will definitely be keeping our challenge in mind, they always bring sweets or some other kind of junk food. Hopefully they buy these muffins that I just cannot stand...then I know for sure I'll stay away LOL.

I love the thieves oil. I use it most days when I know I am working. The school is full of germs it really seems to help. Plus it smells good. Not only do I rub it on my feet when I'm done I cut my hand around my nose and inhale deep. I love Eden's garden they have great oils and they are affordable

Deborah, have you tried any essential oils for your cold, or whatever you have? I get one from Eden's Garden called Four Thieves that seems to help. You rub it on the soles of your feet when you've been exposed to, or start coming down with, something. There's a lot of other single oils that may help but I'm not well-versed enough in the protocols to suggest them.

I posted on the challenge thread today. I hit a high weight today that I swore I would never hit and I'm determined that it will not go further.

Have a great week and a wonderful March!

I am feeling worse today then yesterday...what I would do to just be able to go home and go back to sleep. But alas even if I could I'd have to get up to take my oldest to practice, so I will just keep on keeping on.

Have a great day everyone.

I failed miserably on the last challenge too. I've posted the challenge for March in the challenge forum. After how I've been doing the last few weeks I think it will be a good one.

I hope everyone is doing great. Have a happy Tuesday! I am subbing all this week so you might not see much of me.

I can't think of any ideas for this challenge...I did good and then kinda fell off the wagon.

I am still feeling a bit under the weather...I hope the tea I'm gonna consume all day helps.

I hope everyone has a lovely Monday.

I sputtered and died on the last challenge, but then revived a little at the end. Thanks for doing them! This coming month I'm going to work on the veggies; I realized today that I didn't eat a single one except for the onions in my chili. I'll look through some of the challenges I've done for a team that I lead and see if I can find some ideas for you.

Lisa I'm sorry to hear about your tough road you're on right now emoticon

I haven't really been hitting my step goal at all this week, my routine is all messed up. Glad that it will be back to normal on Monday.

Back to work I hope everyone has a nice day.

It sounds like you are going through a rough patch right now. I hope things get better for you. I understand I miss the Sun in the heat. I am so ready for winter to be over with.

Finally starting to feel a little better. I think I'm going to look into a SAD light. Not sure what those things are called but I've noticed the last couple years that I go into a serious slump during the darkest part of the winter. Of course, losing my nephew the day before Thanksgiving didn't help this year.

But, I actually got stuff done on Sun.(I counted digging a grave for my cat as strength training) and then did a 20-min. workout tonight, too. Also, seemed to have got the daily Coke habit kicked. Can't wait 'til April 15th when we go back to working 5 days a week!

Hello everyone, I am slowly getting back into the swing of things.

I switched positions at work and well....now I don't have as much time to be on Spark during the day. At night it's a bit squirelly in my house with my girls activities.

I hope everyone has a great day

-39C last week. -22C yesterday. +1C today. Go figure. Thanks for the information on essential oils. I'll be seeing the chiropractor on Monday and will ask about his supplier. He usually does a lot of research before he locks on to a specific product.
I have been very unproductive today. Napping, reading, and scarfing copious amounts of Lindt chocolates (daughter purchased on 'sale' after valentines). Only thing positive I've accomplished today is 60 squats in shower first thing this morning. Feeling lethargic. But once the pressure is on I will be outside delivering the remainder of this week's flyers. 8 PM this evening is the cut off. It's almost 3 PM. Soon I'll have to be mobile.

It's bright and sunny here today and about 25 degrees. I love it. We are supposed to get freezing rain tonight which will probably happen because I'm supposed to sub in 2nd grade tomorrow. Then tomorrow it's supposed to be about about 45 degrees. That's how life in Michigan goes warm one day freezing my butt off the next.

Again, as usual... our snow is mostly gone and by Friday we're supposed to see 60s. Crazy weather! Gotta love el Nino!

So... on the way home from work, more than an hour later than planned, my throat is sore. GAHHHHH! Woke with a headache again today, pretty sure this one is sinus... hubby has one, too. I can't wait for the barometer to remain stable for more than 5 minutes!

Got some vacation hours I need to take from work as well, or lose them... so I'm taking this Friday and next. Next week, we're in chairs all day from Mon thru Thu, 8-5. Gotta love trainings!!! At least this one, no testing on the last day like last week. Somehow, amidst all this, there's work to be done :)

Heating up some of my homemade soup from the freezer for dinner... can't thaw fast 'nuff!!! I'm starving!

Just call me Prin (easier on your fingers!) (unless you were counting that as exercise!!!)

After a VERY cold weekend it's up to 21 degrees. We got a little more snow over the weekend but not a whole lot, but we still have a lot on the ground. I'm so ready for spring! I miss the outdoors.

Yeah, Young Living is one of those MLMs... pricing has to take into account everyone on the ladder getting some profit :)

Our front yard this morning. Has now changed to sleet/freezing rain and it is finally going to warm up. Work delayed until 1pm. UGH!!!

I was unsure about buying them but all the reviews on amazon were good. A few of them compared them to young living which are pretty steep in price. I have a few young living oils but they were all gifts.

I'd seen those even on Amazon... good to hear something solid about them. I wasn't sure with 'aromatherapy' as the highlight on the website. But, $4.95 for a 10ml of peppermint is a killer/affordable choice on Amazon, if you're not comfortable buying direct from them!

Maybe I will go ahead and get that Birch from them through Amazon :)

I use Edens gardens oils. They are affordable. Here's the website site.

I agree with Prin, peppermint and lavender are great starters.

Glad I was able to help with water reminders :) Starting out today, I've only had some "good belly juice" (tummy's been hurting all day... pretty sure it's time to head back to the gastro specialist). I need to fill my bottle! LOL

As for oils, even if you just scrape together a small amount and get a couple basics... no one needs as many as I've bought! LOL I just go a bit overboard on things when I get into an OCD groove. A good peppermint oil, and lavender... would probably be most helpful to have around. Personally, I'd avoid any that are the MLM/ladder-type, because their costs are higher - NOT necessarily in relation to quality, but so that everyone in the chain gets their profits from the sale. There's a few out there... and you may even have a local natural shop that carries good ones. The chiro recommended? Does he recommend a source where he gets?

I've been slipping a bit lately in getting my 8 glasses of water in. Made it yesterday but continuing to spend A LOT of time on the toilet. With our (Winnipeg, Manitoba CANADA) temps hovering around the not so balmy -39C level it's definitely not pleasant being outdoors. It would be even worse if I had to go pee. Did 50 squats in the shower this morning. I'm not sure exactly what they accomplish but I always feel better having done something first thing in the morning.
Wish I was an 'oils girl' but unfortunately not within my price range. I've only recently heard of their use; the chiropractor promotes them for good health. Have a wonderful Friday, ladies.
Stay warm and keep moving!

Happy Friday ladies! I hope the day is going well for everyone. I just decided to take a quick break and bop on here since I haven't had much of a chance to lately. I'm so glad I did! All of this talk about water is making me want to fill up my water bottle and make sure I drink enough today. Thanks! Your talk was quite inspiring and motivating :)

Yeah, I didn't grow up drinking water and generally don't like it. Can't stand our city water... but can't pinpoint what it is about the taste I don't like. I grew up in Chicago suburbs and am used to that Lake Michigan water. Obviously, that's not piped down to Tennessee LOL

Still shocked at how little my coworkers actually drink - especially the ones that have pulled the smartypants with me about health choices. Isn't water like, number one really? To lecture me about my eating half of a sandwich and chips, when you're chowing down on a 1200 calorie "salad" just kills me LOL

Today and the rest of the week, we're trapped all day in a training class... with a test on Friday. Yeah, every chance to get up and walk around is being taken - and water and OJ are the only drinks provided. Well, I do see coffee, and guarantee they have sugar available LOL But, bottled water is out front and promoted as the healthier choice.

I had a couple cocktails early but then switched back to water. I also had to get up and work in the morning. Water is never a problem with me I meet my daily goal and then some everyday. I love the water!

I love that you are into oils too. I have my own allergy blend with peppermint, eucalyptus, lavender, and lemon. I also use thieves oil especially when I'm working at the school.

Oh yeah, over the last 6 months to a year, I've purchased probably more than 50 in 5-15 ml bottles :) Tea Tree of course one that I've purchased multiples of... because of kidney problems, my doc won't do anything internal about toenail fungus on my two big toes... and vicks didn't seem to be cutting it... I've been trying to remember and put some on each day. Definitely have made a lot of progress with is, altho' still far from healed :(

Love diffusing as well, especially during a sinus attack! I made my own 'headache remedy' based on one I saw online... peppermint, wintergreen, birch bark, lavender, frankincense... but then I added a few more that also had primary uses for pain/headaches. Have it in an cobalt blue roller bottle that stays in my purse! I think I nearly drowned myself in it yesterday!!! If I encounter someone with a headache... I put some in my hands, rub 'em together, then hold them up and say 'sniff'... and help them out as well :) Great for opening up sinuses!!! Also, opens up minds when it helps LOL

My massage therapist is the one who really got me 'started' (re-started, more from a topical use stand... always loved 'aroma' therapy, but never really used therapeutic grade before). I found a reliable supplier online (not one of those two big commercial MLM gimmicks), and have built up quite the collection! So prefer natural anti- fungal/septic properties of this over harmful chemicals in the drugstore. You know, the same way we prefer 'real' food over the fake chemical concoctions that have no nutritional value, and no fat or no calories... LOL

Just call me Prin (easier on your fingers!) (unless you were counting that as exercise!!!)
