This week I have been using my mini trampoline for 30 minutes a day and burning 240 calories each day. I need to get my total gym out and use that too but haven't yet.
No one can do it for me - I have to do it for myself!! Slow and steady wins the race.

Great MOMOF2LILGIRLS! Way to get creative in fitting your workout into such a busy life!
I started running with a couch to 5k program and it was hard at times but totally worth it. Stick with it.
And welcome to the team!

With 2 young children and a husband that works ALOT. I have no time to visit the gym, So I took the money I would have spent on a one year gym membership and bought the Turbo Jam workout videos as well as a double jogging stroller. I LOVE my turbo jam, the videos pass by so quickly and I can do them anytime,! I also love my jogging stroller, I have been following the couch to 5K plan.

The Pond is the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium in Allen, Texas. I joined it about two months after my hip replacement and just love going.

AUTMNFIRE what's the POND? I have been looking into swimming. Is this a fitness club, local rec center, or something else? Can you reccomend places to look into for pool use?

I go to the POND twice a week. I do two classes of water aerobics sponsored by the arthritis foundation. I can really feel it if I have to miss for some reason. Working out in the water is less stressful on joints plus it is JUST PLAIN FUN!

I do Jari Love DVDs for strength. I'm in the process of collecting them all. For cardio I walk, hike, do walk aerobics, ride my elliptical, dance, and jump rope. I try to switch it up often. I also do pilates and yoga at least once a week.

I love Leslie Sansone's "Walk Away the Pounds" workouts! I started out using the ones that are on "On Demand" on cable, but now I use her "Walk Away Your Waistline" DVD. It's a fast 3 mile walking workout that lasts 45 minutes. I also walk my daughter to school and back, adding a little over 2 miles of extra walking to my day.

Glad to hear you are all getting out there and working it!
WDBROWN94 - I started out walking as well and then did a couch to 5k program. Some would still say I just jog, but I have built up to 10-12 miles a week. So it is possible!
Ranger - I have seen a few posts about these vidoes on SP. Lot's of people seem to really like them. I am glad you have found something that really works for you!
Smile - 5 miles a day sounds like so many miles to me right now! How's the knee? And do you have any advice on how to avoid the injury?

I was running about 5 miles a day then I injured my knee so I have been doing the elliptical 5 days a week (sometimes 6) and strength train at least 2 days per week. I also do pilates at least one day a week.

WATP (Walk Away the Pounds) vids by Leslie Sansone. They are so easy and low-impact that ANYONE can do them. I highly recommend them.

Right now I walk. I want to build up to running. I know our local community center just put in a fitness room. The price is reasonable, $15 for 30 days or $3/day when you use it. I am thinking of getting a pass. I just have to make sure I would actually go and use the facility.

I am interested to know, what do you guys do to workout?
I have a one year old black lab puppy so I do a lot of running and walking. One of my goals for the year is to run a 10k. I also hit my apartment complex's gym to bike and lift a few times a week.
I wish I could get into swimming, but don't have the money for the gym membership right now.
How about you?
