I don't usually eat out because most places use pre-prepared foods at some point in the cooking process and I can taste the preservatives. For example, think that's freshly grilled chicken on your salad? More likely it came in precooked, marked and vacuume packed... covered in sodium "something - ite". (i used to be in the restaurant business.)
If you go to a fine dining e$tabli$hment, that's probably less likely. But they'll think you're the customer from hell when you start ordering sauce on the side, no salt, no skin on the chicken, etc.. etc...
("Special" orders can throw the kitchen off.)
If I ever go out to eat, it's usually Chinese or Japanese. The ingrediants are usually fresh, and I know how the dishes are prepared so I can order wisely.
