We're doing a soup tonight - grass-fed beef (from a friend), fresh veggies, broth, and whole wheat macaroni. It's frigid out today, so this sounds comforting! If there's time, I'll try to make cornbread.

Had carrot-apple muffins for breakfast that were made from the leftovers of juicing the day before. Then a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch. Dinner was mexican "sliders" (local grass fed beef, avocado, and salsa) for Superbowl treats. (The way the Colts played the last 3 quarters, I should have included tequila shots.) also made homemade cole slaw for the rest of the family.
And yes, there is a definite lack of fruits and veggies. Believe me, I know! However, I'm recovering from a crohn's flare and even the veggie fiber from the muffins was giving me fits earlier! Ugh. I miss brussels sprouts!
I had pinto beans for breakfast - at 11:30. Then when I started getting hungry for lunch, I started making homemade vegetable soup. Which I have not eaten yet because about the time the soup was ready, i decided I should make some home-made 100% whole wheat beread. I ground the wheat berries, proofed the yeast with honey and mixed it. I am waiting for the firsst rise and it is now 5:54. It is going to be a late lunch --- but really healthy!
So far so good. It's not even 9am though, lol. My first day of doing the meal plan. I had oatmeal with 1/2 banana for breakfast. I should have eaten another bowl of oatmeal, a cup of milk, and some sugar. I decided to swap those out for some crackers with cheese and cherries that I'll have around 10 or 10:30 to make sure I don't get too hungry before lunch.
I haven't been eating wonderfully for a while now. Each day seems to be one meal of eating out, but I'm at least trying not to go overboard. Today I had a bowl of Kashi GoLean with some sliced banana for breakfast, and then we went to Six Flags so ate park crap for lunch. I got a 4-piece chicken strip basket w/fries and a Diet Coke, but only had half of it, as DD and I shared. So not too awful, but do need more fruits and veggies today.
Crap! This week we're on the road and eating lots of Canadian junk food. I had Poutine (fries covered in brown gravy and cheese) for lunch. LOl It was one of those "When in Canada" things that I won't do again. Nothing like greasy fries covered in salty greasy brown gravy and greasy cheese. At least last night for dinner I had fettucini fruti de mare with tomato sauce and a salad.
Friday when I get home I'm going to have to do a detox!
So far so good...I had a bowl of cereal with strawberries for breakfast and a lean cuisine flatbread sandwich with blue cornchips for lunch. I am making granola right now and we are having a sparkpeople recipe for dinner. Good day unless I freak out and eat something awful!!
I started the day off well with a lot of fruit. Bananas, grapes, clementines and a few bites of the Bear's apple. I tried to have a salad for lunch but I realized I was out of lettuce. Then in the afternoon I went shopping and let myself get too hungry so I ended up binging on chips and salsa and a couple of BBQ "chicken" wraps (on white torillas!!!!). Luckily I'm still full from all of that junk so hopefully I'll make it thru til bedtime without wasting any more calories.
