Cottage cheese, grated carrot, sweet or dill pickles, and smidge of onion.

oh, i see. in our area people prefer goat's milk feta or cream cheeses, though sometimes i think it's just to be considered chic. emoticon

Stop and Shop supermarket logo has a non fat Ranch dressing that adds
zing to tuna salad mix. Today I substituted it with a boiled salmon mix
that I spread over two english muffiin halves for lunch! Nothing less than
yum and only 30 calories!

Non fat, non dairy is always less calories. Greek Yogurts are good but
truth be told, real greek yogurt is made with part goats milk!

I use a little bit of olive oil (roasted garlic olive oil) and some lemon juice. Not traditional but then I also put some chopped cucumber in there. Then I eat it on bread with baby spinach. It's actually really yummy! Oh and if it matters....I always use the albacore tuna.

I made a pasta tuna salad last night for dinner.

Cooked a small bag of whole wheat pasta ( I like the kind with different colored noodles)added a half a bag of frozen mixed vegetables. Rinsed the pasta and vegetables with cold water.

Diced 2 green onions, 1/2 a red bell pepper, 2 radishes, 1 stalk of celery, 1 large tomato

Add 2 cans of drained tuna and a cup of baby spinach.

for dressing a use just enough sesame oil to cover the noodles with garlic powder, dried ground parsley, and basil.

I adjust all the ingredients to match the amount of pasta made. The amounts above feed three adults with some left over. This is one of my sons favorite meals.

I love the plain yogurt idea!

I know this is going to sound strange - but mashed avocado and some plain greek yogurt. It is delicious! here's my recipe for tuna salad that is out of this world and super healthy too:

1 can tuna
1 sm carrot diced small
1/4 orange or red bell pepper, diced small
12 grape tomatoes, diced into fourths
dash of garlic salt, onion powder, fresh ground pepper
1 TB lemon juice
2 TB plain greek yogurt
2 TB chopped cilantro
3-4 baby dill pickles diced small
1 avocado mashed

mix it all up well and I serve on whole grain bread (I love Great Harvest High Fiber or Nine Grain with this). I've also used Ezekial wraps.

Thanks to everyone! Such great ideas. I haven't went to the store yet. I decided to go Friday that way I can pick up some things for Dinner. I can't wait to try all the ideas. But I think I'm going to try the Plain Yogurt first. What I may end up doing is putting a bit of dried spices into the yogurt like oregano or sea salt and pepper. I'm not sure but it depends.

Thanks Everyone!

Can someone help me please?

I'm going to the store in the morning and I'm picking up some things to make Tuna Salad Sandwiches. You know, something to hold me until I can go back to the store. I'm not a big fan of Mayo but when I make Tuna Salad, I add Miracle Whip. And I'm even getting sick of that too. What can I add in place of Mayo for Tuna Salad?

Someone from I know suggested to use Lettuce Leaves instead of Bread when trying to cut down on calories. But sometimes I need Bread(I use Sara Lee Whole Wheat) to make up for calories I still need.

For my Tuna Salad I use:

~Canned Albacore Tuna in Water
~A Jar of Sweet Baby Pickels (slice them length wise then run them through the mini food processor.)
~Celery (I hand chop those)
~Boiled Eggs minus the Egg Yolk
~Sometimes Chopped Onion
~And a little bit of seasoning.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
