JANIELYNN - You are right I just Googled for a recipe, and it does use the flower petals.

No foods with high fructose corn syrup, sugar, rice syrup, corn syrup, fructose, sucrose etc. in the first three ingredients.

No foods that have more than 3 ingredients that I can not pronounce.

If an item has more than 10 ingredients it is too processed, I will not eat or buy the item.

I always thought that dandelion wine was made from the flowers. But how about some violets and I believe that you can eat daisies but do not quote me. The little green stalks that grow in the lawn in the east are a version of garlic.
I do have a book on edible foods found in the wild I will look it up and post some other suggestions emoticon

Went to a gym nearby and because of my age my weight goal has changed. What a wonderful thing to have you fat percentage measured. Scary but wonderful I am trying to think out of the box more.

I have never had Dandelion wine but it is a classic. Should be able to find out how by googling it. Make sure there are no toxins on the greens though

My grandmother use to make Dandelion wine.

I have no idea how. She use to have a big book that she had recipes in and she would make notes etc. No one in the family seems to know where it went after her death. Darn it!!!!!!!

So did you try it, was it good? I have seen Asian women picking new dandelion greens and I have often thought of doing it, but never have. There are a lot of things you can go picking like sorrell for example

I was introduced to dandelions by the CSA. And while I was weeding this weekend, the early spring dandelions had not yet gone to puffballs and the leaves were luxurious. By the time I was done weeding, I had enough greens for a meal.

So I looked at a few recipes for spinach quiche and one for a chard tart I had made and came up with this: recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detai

I'd love other recipes for dandelions and other "found" food.
