Didn't have a lot of time this morning so I only did sit-ups, crunches and squats.

Mmm that sounds good. Had sushi last night, I found a new favourite one but probably won't get it all the time as it has delicious bacon in it. Yep sushi with bacon omg.

I asked my boyfriend yesterday to push me to do my exercises in the morning cause I don't tend to do them at his house and he did this morning.

I did sit-ups, squats, crunches and push-ups ^_^. Drinking tea now.

we used to find whole smoked chooks in the supermarket deli,
more recently, smoked chicken fillets. but not any more
I has a supply of liquid smoke at home
Yesterday I bought some pork belly pieces
plan to salt them and squirt with liquid smoke, wrap and then cook after a week
great-tasting ham/bacon substitute

Thanks for sharing, I really like zucchini! I must confess, I added chicken to my quesadilla...it didn't look complete without it.

I had the sprouted grain tortilla, my vegan cheese, my sautéed red yellow, orange bell peppers and sautéed shallots and garlic (which smelled great) and then I added smoked chicken. If I had discovered the avocado in the fridge before I assembled the quesadilla then I would have left it out. Avocado is DELICIOUS darn it. So sad. I'll do better next time.

My weekend was BUSY. So tired. It's strange on the weekend I don't want to be healthy but as soon as Monday rolls around I want fruit or a smoothie for breakfast. It's weird. Anyway despite wanting a ham, egg and cheese croissant with hash browns Saturday morning from BK I stopped at smoothie king instead and got a veggie smoothie and then went to work.

There was then helping my boyfriend's family tidy up the house for visiting family (they had been renovating bathrooms for the past two weeks and there was mess) and then birthday dinner then Sunday was taking the visiting family around. I am back at my home today so it'll be more chill though today is my sister's actual birthday so I don't know if my mom had extra plans besides the Saturday night dinner we had.

I'm supposed to be making quesadillas for dinner. I got dairy-free cheese :D and I'm going to make mines vegetarian I found a few yummy looking recipes at Oh My Veggies I might try one or deviate from one a bit.

Another day of no morning exercises.

I finished Liar by Justine Larbalestier. If you like books with unreliable narrators and/or psychological thrillers than I highly recommend it. I was supposed to be reading along with a book group but um I finished the book. Ah well.

This morning's breakfast was fruit, fruit fruit. Had no time to make smoothies so I grabbed a banana and then I knew I was going to be hungry soon so I stopped at the supermarket and got a bunch of fruit at the salad bar - honeydew, grapes, blueberries, strawberries and pineapple.

If I can stop at the grocery store after work I am going to look for dairy-free and nut-free yoghurt. Cross fingers for me!

I was hoping to go swimming again this Sunday but the current rainy and windy weather is foiling my plans. I wanted to go running too but I left my sneakers at home gaaaah.

Guys I am so proud of myself. I've been going low on the sugar and dairy this week so last night even though we were sitting by the dessert display case at dinner (with evil looking cheesecakes, eclairs and black forest cake) I didn't get a single one. I got unsweetened hot chocolate (cause I was cold) with soy milk.

How is everyone doing? The challenges are approaching. Who's ready?

That's very good to hear ^_^.

Missed yesterday's check-in, it was a holiday so no computer for me as I was home (need to buy a new laptop).

Yesterday I went swimming in the morning (training for a June sea swim race) and then washed my car as it desperately needed it. It still needs a good wash but it doesn't look as terrible as it did before. Then was treated to sushi for dinner nom nom cause I had to wait for my boyfriend for over an hour while he worked. Oh I got reading in as I waited, reading Liar by Justine Larbalestier.

@Richard - How was your program free day? I hope you and your old work colleague had a good time ^_^.

Last night's dinner was Parmesan Crusted Tilapia and we made our own bread crumbs from Ezekiel Sprouted Grain Bread. That was kind of fun lol.

We're going to make croutons with the bread tonight to go on our salads.

Today is a programmed day free from both dieting and exercise. I am going to be entertaining an old work colleague. This does not mean open slather, however & also means that there will be due attention paid to my program for the rest of the week.

Another day and no morning exercises ahhh also my neck hurts so I don't think I slept too well :/.

For last night's dinner I went out on a date and got a marguerita pizza. The place usually makes great pizza but I've made a marguerita pizza that tasted a lot better, their crust was of course way better but I think the tomatoes brought the pizza down, they weren't sweet sadly (needed to be roasted more or a different kind of tomato).

And easy way to make marguerita pizza: pita bread, cherry tomatoes cut in half, basil sliced/chiffonade, sof mozarella cheese torn into pieces/chunks.

top your pita bread with the tomatoes then cheese then basil and stick in the oven for 15 minutes on about 450F (preheat oven). It will be delicious.

No exercises this morning. No time :(. Well...ok honestly if I got up when the first alarm went off I would have had enough time but I was tired.

The good is that I made a green smoothie for breakfast :). Same as yesterday except no pineapple chunks.

Did AB & Squat Day 17 and 1 minute push-ups (up to 13).

I have a green smoothie chilling in the freezer.

They have a few different kinds in the supermarket. I like the vanilla flavoured one from Silk and Almond Breeze but my boyfriend is allergic to nuts so now I get Lactaid and Silk coconut milk (vanilla) to drink or make smoothies with :).

Almond milk doesn't have dairy though it's a plant milk. Its almonds soaked in water that has been blended than strained.

You're doing great !!

The baking soda was for severe heartburn ( GERD) that I get during the night. But I got some f the meds I needed so no more baking soda. Baking soda has over 1200 mg. sodium per teaspoon, so it's super bad for me since I retain fluid so much, but I had no choice for a few days. Had to use what I had.

Good Morning :).

What was the baking soda for?

I did AB & Squat Challenge* Day 16 and started working on regular push-ups. I can do 11 in 1 minute.

This mornings breakfast was a fruit smoothie - milk, raspberry yogurt, banana and pineapple. I'll be having a banana for a morning snack soon.

Yeah I say don't worry until your proper weigh-in date. So many factors could contribute to your unexpected weight gain and some of those are removed when you weigh in on your proper date and time and if you have gained then you just continue to work on losing it all.

I've been stuck on a plateau for months now and I know what I need to do to get out of it and I've started this year fitness wise but I also need to get more discipline nutrition wise (and that's the hardest part for me).

This morning's breakfast was a home-made orange julius smoothie (made by my boyfriend).

Kind of disappointed in myself. I decided to sneak a peek at my weight today knowing I'm supposed to hold off until tomorrow. And the numbers are really up there from the 1st. I'm up 4 lbs. So I'm not a happy camper, especially when I felt I was doing really well with my eating all week. Tomorrow is the "official" weigh in so we'll see what it shows then. I won't change my ticker until tomorrow.

Oh I definitely feel better after having veggies, even if I don't notice any significant changes physically, mentally I feel good because I know they are good for me. After all the holiday eating I definitely try to improve meals with some greens :D and green smoothies is also an easy way to get your veggies and fruit servings for the day.

Thanks ^_^. Having no meat with breakfast is doing me good because dinner is usually an unknown until dinner time.

Early morning today and a rush so very little done this morning. I made breakfast the night before (baked eggs in a cupcake tin) and those were packed to go and easy to eat in the car. Did day 13 of AB & Squat challenge, had no time to do anything else exercise wise.

No meat with this morning's breakfast so my goal of 1 meatless meal a day is still going too yay ^_^.

This morning I did day 12 of AB & Squat Challenge along with 10 burpees (wanted to do 15 but didn't make it).

Call me Sandy. My goals are swimming in a 1 mile open water sea swim, running a 5K race and performing 50 push-ups in 1 minute.

I did something today I wouldn't normally do. I bought a bag of mini pretzels. I'm trying to watch the sodium but every once in awhile I want a crunchy snack that isn't a veggie. So I got the lesser of two evils ( pretzels vs doritos).

I decided to continue with the cereal in the evenings and just be a little more careful with the rest of the days eating and hope it'll balance out.

I've been eating a bowl of cereal at night as a snack thinking at least I was getting daily fiber but it's making the numbers on the scale go in the wrong direction. So no more cereal at night. Bob mentioned this morning I could still have my cereal, only have it for breakfast instead and have something small, like a yogurt for my evening snack. So I'll give that a try and see if it works better for me. I'm staying within my calorie limits with the cereal. I just think because I was eating it in the evenings, I wasn't burning it off fast enough so my morning weigh in reflects it.

Hi Everyone. Just got my new glasses. Going to take getting used to. Before I had progressive lenses. This time it's with the bifocal and trifocal lines. And I'm used to a large frame but this pair is very small as I'm no longer able to wear the larger size due to brittle bone disease. I need as lightweight a pair as possible. I'm not really thrilled with how I look in these glasses but over time I guess I'll get used to it. Right now they just kind of make me sad feeling.

Today was laundry day in the Bishop household. But it's all done for another week. Just finished an early supper of New England clam chowder. A local restaurant only makes it on Fridays and we love it so once a month we get two take out bowls of it. Yum ! emoticon

Not a good flex day yesterday. More meat than veggies it seemed.
There was a salad but...

Tonight I have to do real cooking so there will be a baked potato with steamed broccoli & green onions. Perhaps some type of bean, and a small portion of baked chicken. I have some nice butter peas I need to cook and I really like them.

Every day is a GIFT!

Split 5oz of roast beast lunchmeat between the 2 of us last night. I cook lots of peppers/onions cut the meat in strips and halved a crusty roll between us. Added French fries at least they were baked. Sometimes I add mushrooms. Haven't totally gotten rid of the meat but have cut it way down. Was a time when there was more meat that veggie. Doing it this way hubby doesn't really notice as much.

Absolutely love soups of all kinds. Regularly microwave some chopped veges in a bowl, then add a few more ingredients(even instant soup mix) and water, microwave again for a quick lunch.

I haven't ate pork in 10 years. I stopped just because. I have noticed now that I am getting older, I can't eat beef as much as I use to (I get gassy). I absolutely LOVE seafood though. Fish especially!

I have a friend who became a vegan and she makes a lot of baked goods. I think I just had problems balancing the carbs and proteins with the fats. I still ate dairy, too.

Welcome aboard! I love it because going straight vegetarian didn't work for me. I gained weight actually....15 lbs! I don't hate meat, steak is yummy once in a while and I eat flounder weekly. I enjoy a great burger if I can find it. I have always tended towards vegetarianism, but like bacon, too. hehe

Greetings everyone, I am new to the group by not new to the Flexitarian lifestyle. I practiced being a Flexitarian for about 6 months and then I fell off. So now I am working on going back to this lifestyle. What made me decide to go back was all the benefits of it. Not feeling sluggish, healthier eating, more energy, weight loss, etc.

Well the folks who had a showing this morning cancelled. They didn't calculate the distance from our house to their work before scheduling the showing! Gee thanks. We got our house ready for you to see and vacated for you and you cancel 23 min before the showing, nice! They should have come anyway and given us feedback. Oh well, another day, another potential buyer.

I got to go sit with my neighbor and have coffee and it was nice. :)

APROMISE4ME, I love your profile pic!!!

Yesterday was fun for me. We had 2 house showings, I got to help my sister get ready for her day and then went to a rodeo at Chick fil A with my kids. I learned that I really only like Chick fil A's chicken. I used to enjoy eating the buffalo sticks at Quik Trip, but not anymore. I guess that is a good thing.

Bingo today and who knows. Have a great one everyone!

We found some Kellogg's Mueslix cereal going on clearance at a store called 'Here Today'. So we bought several boxes. It has 5 fiber and 5 protein and my 9 and 10 yr old love it!!! I add some extra fiber powder to it and use my soy milk.

Yesterday was not a bad day. I had that for breakfast then we went to a Chinese buffet and I had my usual California rolls (mostly veggies and some imitation crab), 1 crab rangoon innards, lots of sauteed veggies and a little pepper chicken. Then dinner consisted of a pumpkin bagel and a homemade latte of sorts. I mixed Silk Light with some Bolthouse, decaf coffee crystals, fiber powder and some Nestle Quick.

Today will probably be cereal, pizza for lunch and then flounder with roasted fingerling potatoes for dinner.

In between meals are usually spent cleaning or straightening up the house in case we get a call for a showing. It's exhausting.

I hope everyone has a great week!

I like the creaminess of it, but some don't like the gritty grains. I sometimes make it thick with some lumps. I use it interchangeably with oatmeal. Whatever I would put in oatmeal, I put in cream of wheat. I have even put eggs in it to add extra protein. I always make it with some sort of milk. However I now use Silk Light.

I hope that helps.

It has been cold the last few days. Yesterdays high was 57 and last night in the 40s. Supposed to be 40 tonight and have had to run the heater. I am not ready for winter yet. Supposed to be bad again this year.
I walked hubby's wheelchair ramp for one hour straight today. I am so proud of that. Now if I can keep it up.
Have a great week.

We are at the in-laws for the weekend again. I brought my Bolthouse Vanilla Bean to eat with my cream of wheat. I haven't been eating on task that much anyway, but I somehow have been keeping level. Maybe it has been the stress of moving.

If anyone needs a 4 bedroom 2 full bath ranch in IL near St. Louis, look me up! Huge rooms!!!
:)

Its raining today so I popped in a exercise video. Now I am looking for a part time job. Things have really changed, it is hard finding a job. I am also, DE cluttering getting ready for when school starts. emoticon

Sunshine, you might enjoy this one. So my car had been acting up....every time I put the car in park it unlocks the doors. Well recently it started making a horrible noise. I told the kids that we had a problem because it was happening every time we put the car in park. So, my sweet 9 yr old son said, "Well, Mom, just don't put it in park as often." I asked him how we could do that and he said, "Just drive around and not put it in park." He just has it all solved!

I got it fixed instead!

I think I have to have a smoothie today. Bananas are getting bad.

Good morning. I drank a smoothie this morning to see if it would give me some energy. I was so tired that I felt like dragging, Of course I know it is not a miracle cure and I will start dancing a jig right away but I do not feel as bogged down as some food would make me feel...So its better.

Hope you are all having a great day.

Tonight as I was watching Television, a show called: Worlds Dummiest Criminals" and they show this woman walking into a dollar store, picks out 11 items and proceeds to walk out the door but didn't realize that an employee had locked the entrance door in anticipation of the closing of the store in a few minutes.... so she could not get out, she gave the basket of items back and they let her leave the store .....

and the narrator says: "The dollar store, when Wal-Mart is just too fancy!"

lmao (laughing my ass off) that was sooooooooooooo funny to me.
