Usually I say 'Thanks.' I find when someone notices that my efforts are paying off, it's a little pick-me-up. Especially on those days when I am being hard on myself and discouraged because I don't think I'm being successful. :)

If someone notices I lost weight I say thanks, and hope they give me an opening to plug Spark. At times however, I at first no one really noticed, now people who haven't seen me in a while seem shocked at the difference, and that can be embarrassing.

I am here in Texas and already have lost a dress size, down to a 16. which really bums me out because when I starting packing clothes a lot of the clothes I packed fit me at the time, now they would give a free show if I bent over.

El Im so happy for you. You must feel just great these days. I lost 3lb this week. thats 9lb in my first month. I am so delighted. Guess that water sure is helping.

I can tell you're a girl that doesnt do things by halves. All that water. Perhpas you're a waterholic. What a great way to go.

You sure are going to miss all those stairs to run up and done. Good luck with the move and hope you enjoy your home.

Believe it or not I have a gallon in my bedroom I keep, I have a gallon in my computer room I keep and I have a gallon in solarium, for when I am watching DVD. and I keep a cooler in my car for when I am travelling with 6 bottles filled with water. That was in VT. I am not sure how I am going to do it in TX everything is closer and it's a cottage not a 13 room house. In Verona the house is also 10 rooms so I do it there. I hate freezing cold water. But yesterday I was running up and down stairs, for the first time in I don't know how long. I said to my dad as it was just me and him loading the minivan up, "you know last year at this time, there was no way I could have help you do this or run up and down the stairs." and he the biggest grin and smiled and said "I know" Even the guy I work for Everett who spent the winter down in FL couldn't believe how much weight I lost over the winter, and I said, "It is really the power of water, and just not eating junk food"

But it's really is what you drink. I was reading a study and they showed that the people who drink more water then anything else, lose weight faster with exercise then those who dont't.

Well Ive just finished my 4th week, and I am amazed to say that I had one cup of coffee early in the week and havnt even thought about it since. I am water baby now, and so loving. Most days I am drinking 9 or 10 glasses.

I have heard people saying it's okay to count tea as your water, but I don't personally. I keep at 32oz water bottle at all times with me during the day and usually will end up drinking more than 2 of them - in addition to coffee in the morning and a cup of green tea in the afternoon.

Green tea is really good for other stuff in this programme too. I read an article mentioning it the other day. I was thinking I might try some.

I also drink decaff coffe, but I like mine with milk, so I dont count it as water.

But i am actually getting to love my water, and have reduced drinking other stuff to maybe one cup a day. I like something warm in the eveing, so I save a nice hot sweet milky drink for then so I go to sleep feeling as if Ive had something delicious and also sweet.

So far I have been staying within my calorie range and am just going into my 4th week with SP.

Personally since I only drink decaffeinated tea or caffeine-free tea I DO count it as water.

Making up some green tea is an easy way to get in some more water if you still need water for your day but want more flavor.

Recovering from breast reduction surgery so exercise is on hold for now.

Starting a paleo/primal diet. Very low carbs, no grains, very little dairy. So far so good!

Tea doesn't count as water

and count your breakfast, lunch and dinner when you eat them. if you eat breakfast when you get home then that is your breakfast or if when you get up. It's not etched in stone, it's all up to you.

I have a few questions

1. Does tea count toward your daily water consumption?

2. I work third shift 10pm - 8am. I always hear how breakfast is the most important meal of the day. How would I categorize my meals. Would my dinner actually be breakfast for me?

For me it's a language thing I am not a native english speaker, and it just got stuck in my head, then I thought why not it does make you sparkle when you smile because you lost a pound, or you added 5 more minutes to your walking time or exerise routine, or even gone down a dress size. You smile more and your eyes sparkle.

The streaks are part of the teams you belong to. You can only delete them and fix them if you go to the team that has that streak.

The streaks are listed under the "other goals" and you can check them off or not but they will still show up on your spark page even if you don't check them off as how long you did them in a row, that won't change.

I cant seem to find out how to do the streaks pages properly, or how to delete the ones I am not doing.
I have found the pages where it should work, but I cant find the way to do it. DOH!!!!

I seem to have got 8 glasses of water down 3 separate times, and although I have been doing this every day for the last 14 days, my streaks are all much shorter than that. The same with my other goals.

Id appreciate some help. emoticon

Cottage Cheese is an excellent source of protein.

Tofu is also a great source of protein. If you are making something like chile or soups you can add little pieces of tofu. It has no taste of its own but takes the flavor of the spices/seasonings you are using. It is great added to Mexican and Italian casserole type dishes.

We don't eat very much meat either so getting our protein is a challenge for us too.

If you look on the nutrition tracker you can find different ways to change the menu to help you. After a work out try filling up on water, and fruit, to avoid overeating.

Questions:

Can anyone offer any advice on getting in protein? I don't eat meat and usually stick with fish and chicken in my diet and lately my protein level has been low. Also... has anyone out there experienced overeating after working out, what has helped you to not stock up on overeating after a work out. Tried measuring out food portions before I work out so that I avoid overeating, but my body just seems to want to consume more food any way. Thank you for the input, I greatly appreciate it.

There isn't a scale in my house. The only time I weight myself is when I go to the Doctor's and I use the same scale. That way I won't get so fixed on the scale, and I won't worry if the scale moves do I have to reset it.

Linda, thank you so much for your help. Yes, I am looking for anything I can do that will help burn those calories. I can just about walk to the front gate and back, so am counting each step now as a positive exercise.

I have osteoarthritis in both knees and a couple cervical disc herniations. To burn calories, you can simply just sit in your chair and clap your hands or also move your hands and arms in a biking motion. I am not sure what your limitations are. Today I am going to do my knee exercises the Orthopedic dr gave me and follow it up with some of the above as I mentioned. Good luck to you!

Hi, my name is Wispy, I however currently am NOT. I live in New Zealand and am a great grandma. emoticon
This is Day 1 for me, completed within my range. YAY, and I am hoping to find some exercises I can do to burn calories as I am somewhat disabled.

I am working on understanding this site. I guess I need the remedial class. I have some goals set and I want to keep tracking them. Is there a way I can add the pages to my favorites or do I just have to find each page everyday and track?
